Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Morning all! It's lovely to hear everyone starting to have losses after Christmas. I'm on my bonus dose so I've just ordered the 12. Who would have thought I'd go up to that after feeling so sick on the way up to that!

I'm at the point of my clothes starting to fall off me even though I've not reached 2 stone loss yet (I've got the curse of a slow looser unfortunately). I do have a bag of clothes for each size of clothes down to a 12, which is what I'm aiming for, so I need to get the 18's out from the loft space and have a sort out of my wardrobe.

Maybe I'll do that this weekend after sorting my DS bedroom, which is starting to look like a hoarders house again 😢 That's something I couldn't have done 12 months ago, so I'll take that as a win.

First a shower and baking of chocolate fudge cake with DS. Probably not good for weight loss but invaluable family time!

@Blondeshavemorefun I don't really know why I weigh twice! Some people weigh every day and I used. My weigh day is usually Thursday, then I like to reassure myself it wasn't a lucky weigh! I need to put my scales away until next Thursday!

I get your logic kinda

so if you gain a few days you went it off by normal weigh in

if you are lighter it’s a win

Think I have suppression

didn’t really want my sweet and sour chicken and rice I did for dd and I

ate maybe 1/2

def didn’t feel like this last week on 12.5

this week I did the dose off bonus part of 10

so this pen May last me 4w then start my official 12.5 pen via iq

i still claim a dodgy warm overheated pen

or else why would they say keep under 30

Hey 👋 I'm officially on my maintenance plan with Oushk, its the taper down one which will make @Blondeshavemorefun chuckle as I've not much to taper down from 😂😂😂

I had a 15 minute video call yesterday and once I reach my goal I can switch plans after the 3 months or discuss a change of plan if it's during the first 3 month plan and it's not quite right for me.

Tbh because I'm on a low dose I know its not much of a taper, but I'll do it slowly. Hira also said as well as lowering the doses you can stretch your jab day to 9 days between jabs to see how you're coping with the lack of medication. She also said that it's a personal choice for each individual, some might want to come off it completely, some might want to stay on 2.5mg or some might want to have the cushion of being able to use the medication for specific events, holiday, wedding etc. That plan would be the £15 a month and being able to stay with a pharmacy and order if needed.

Each plan is for 3 months, free delivery and 15% off each pen. Support though various ways, email text whatsapp telephone call or video call. I've added a screenshot of the email.

It's good to have the one to one chat and the chat stays live for you to ask any follow up questions. I was able to add a question this morning and got a reply via WhatsApp within a couple of hours. Her husband is on the medication (I knew that from before) and he was on 12.5 and stopped for December and has restarted at 2.5 again now, i like the fact she was a GP previously so has the patient face to face experience.
Waffling now sorry 😆
Over and out....

@NippyCrab thanks for detailed feedback 😀 I had my consultation with Hira about 2 months ago. Interesting that they have lowered the price from £20 to £15! I will probably be asking you a few more questions over the next couple of weeks as I got 1 dose left in my second 10 mg pen that I am clicking to make it 12 5mg and then I have a 12.5 mg in the fridge. First dose of 12.5 mg and its really kicked in today..can barely eat. Hoping I will get to my goal very soon as I only need to lose 5 pounds now but it's a little bit over the top end of recommended BMI by around 3 pounds so I don't know if that counts as maintenance ..I am feelingva bit confused about the choices!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2025 17:35

@NippyCrab Pmsl at tapering down 😂😂😂

but glad you are happy

not sure I would want to get to 12.5 like I have - stop for a month and be back to 2.5

i thought maintenance was from 22/23 bmi

OP posts:
Azuresky68 · 11/01/2025 18:03

@NippyCrab one thing I am confused about is when I will officially be on maintenance if that makes any sense? Because the weight I am aiming for is BMI 25.4 mg. Also I have just received a pen from Ousch so officially I have 4 weeks supply, but I use the bonus dose so it's a 5 week supply. Then I have another pen from a different pharmacy so that's another 5 weeks. But that will look as if I am having a 6 week break to Ousch so does that mean I have to pay them £15 or do I tell them I have a spare pen and not ready to start maintenance?

I think the official line is that if you have a 4 week break you have to start again at 2.5. That is why they offer a tapering down plan. But as I am on 12.5 tapering down is going to take months and more money! Still confused as to what to do!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2025 18:29

Then I would stop for a month. See how you do then do 2.5

obv im in the hardcore gang so that wouldn’t make sense for me

@Azuresky68 you could get to goal and either completely stop the medication and let it come out your system naturally and pay the £15 if you are worried you might need it again. Or taper down once you get to goal, I don't know if you could taper doing one week 12.5, 10, 7.5, 5 then 2.5mg. I'd ask her. I needed a pen so wanted to use the discount so I'll keep on the dose I'm on till I reach goal then taper. So I'm technically not maintaining but have started on the plan for my pen. Worked out at £126

My husband is on maintenance with Oushk and he went from 15mg to 10 and then now on 5mg so you do not have to go through each strength

owlyboo · 11/01/2025 23:01

That's good to know @TheWildRoseBear!

4pink1blue · 12/01/2025 08:26

Haven't been on the thread for a while so only skimmed through. I have to say massive congratulations to @owlyboo
Huge achievement 👏

I lost 1lb this week and I'm actually a little disappointed. I thought I'd been good but it wasn't showing on the scales. Hopefully it will catch up next week.

Morning all!

I'm thinking of changing provider for my next pen and moving to Oushk. How are they with approvals/ deliveries? Been with medexpress so far (gave up on the getting credit bit yonks ago) and oushk are currently quite a bit cheaper plus (although a long way off) am considering them for maintenance. For me, medexpress have been prompt with approving my pens and the deliveries so wanted to ask people with first hand experience of Oushk before swopping! Thanks!

They will be fine with the fact you have more than one pen to use, lots of their regular posters on FB have a "stash". Some pharmacies seem to want you to order every four weeks and send reminders and get funny if you don't, they seem to trust people to order as and when and stock up when funds allow.

I just switched to Oushk this time (from Pharmacy2U) It was absolutely fine. I had to message as didnt receive an initial email - even though I could see it on the app. I had a reply straight away even though it was 7pm ish, it was approved next morning and dispatched. Arrived day after very well packaged. No complaints at all.

Blimeyits2025already · 12/01/2025 09:37

Thanks @PoemsForTea that's good to hear!

NippyCrab · 12/01/2025 10:18

@Blimeyits2025already I've been happy with Oushk, I've been with them since my second pen. Delivery great, used to be a choice with royal mail or dpd but at the moment it's only royal mail. Ice is still frozen and it's all well packaged. You choose your delivery day. I've not had any issues ordering and their support is good. I don't use their FB groups and don't let them put you off as a supplier x

weaseleyes · 12/01/2025 10:38

I've ordered another 5mg. I debated going for a 7.5 as I've got two 5mg pens to get through and I might need to go up after. However, having had a few weeks of smaller doses, I wouldn't be too annoyed if I ended going through the 5mgs a bit faster if I needed to up the dose. If I did go up, it's likely to be at a snail's pace! I could hold on, but I like to buy one a month to spread the cost and not feel panic stricken I'll run out if I absolutely can't afford it one month. IQ Doctor seem to have a permanent 15% discount code, plus a bigger one that's usually there - 20.5% this month. I've never had less than 20% so far.
