Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

@20bloodypounds she sounds delightful! Well my exh and the OW have been together (at least) nearly two years (probably longer but let's go with the 'no affair story' 😂) and she's met my kids a grand total of about 1 hour (spread across two separate occasions) my dd doesn't want anything to do with her but I'm guessing she's not that arsed either as the situation hasn't been pushed.

Glad you found a good one!!

NippyCrab · 03/01/2025 20:44

Well done on the losses again gang, and lol at carrots and candles as pens 😂

DH made a butter chicken curry tonight from his new curry book, omg i don't even want to know the calories and fat in it! He made a biryani on Wednesday with ghee drizzled on it ffs! I'll need to super max the walks for next weeks weigh in 😂 xxx

owlyboo · 03/01/2025 20:45

Oh sounds yummy @NippyCrab love a curry!!

20bloodypounds · 03/01/2025 20:48

@NippyCrab I'm on my way round now!

@Blondeshavemorefun thanks for your help. Ousch is a bit more expensive than Cloud but they give discounts on a frequent basis. Up to the 6th January they have 20% off and also another one for people who have never used them before. Postage is quite expensive though but you can get a guaranteed delivery (£7.99) You can also book a 15 minute online chat for £5 with the prescriber, who is lovely, for advice on anything. They have a FB page but I much prefer our group for ongoing support. If I use my 20% discount to order another 10 mg pen it's going to cost me £142 including postage. When you join the maintenance plan you get 3 codes giving you 15% off and free delivery. Got to say they are very reliable and pleasant people. You can call or email and get a quick response. They also do live chats on FB on different topics. The next one is tomorrow but aimed at newbies. Currently I am at BMI 26.9 and my goal is 7 pounds away, bringing me to 9 stone and a BMI of 25.4. I am not going any lower. So I am going to compare Cloud and Ousch on cost. Thanks again for the information. I want to keep my options open to stay on it as long as I need to - I never want to regain the weight again and it's only MJ that can help me! I have been with Ousch since October so if anyone wants any other info just ask 🙂

Azuresky68 · 03/01/2025 21:08

@owlyboo and @20bloodypounds so sorry to hear about the horrible men. I was in a terrible situation with my ex and even though I divorced him 18 years ago it still upsets me to talk or think about it. All I can say is I understand and empathise totally. Sending hugs x

owlyboo · 03/01/2025 21:09

Thanks @Azuresky68 and sorry you had a shit situation. Flowers glad you're free of it

Addictedtobeauty · 03/01/2025 21:30

@Blondeshavemorefun i was an August original- still here, lurking, still taking MJ but rarely post. Truth be told, I can’t keep up with you chatty lot - but absolutely appreciate the thread when I come on. You are all amazing and doing so well. I haven’t read everything and am not up to date- just thought I’d pop in and say hi.

I’ve lost very slowly - just shy of 3 stone since beginning od August - not bad at all but a lot of that was in August and September. I slowed down after the initial boost and over December, bounced up and down between 170-172. I’m on 7.5 mg now and reluctant to go up as it makes me so tired. I’ll persevere through January at the same dose and hope the clean eating I’m planning (I’ve let bad choices seep in over Christmas) and renewed strength training attempts kickstart a loss.

I swapped to Oushk for the maintenance plans and I’m happy so far- I don’t get involved in the fan-girling or cult like posting on social media- I just want to continue losing!

Happy New Year all-may we all finish the year lighter than we started it.

WorriedRelative · 03/01/2025 22:20

I swapped to Oushk for the maintenance plans too. I like the way they are clear about options and have ongoing discounts.

I am on the Facebook page but not for the gushy crap. In fact I challenged them pretty hard when they looked like they were going down the affiliate code route.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2025 23:40

@Azuresky68 many say Ousch aren't that good so it's hard to know. And only one to charge for maintenance

But if with them and such a low bmi uou May not get taken on by anyone else

@Addictedtobeauty lovely to hear from
You and 3s is fab. Well done

I measured earlier. Forgot to post

Over all lost

14cm off hips
9 off waist
11 off boobs
4 off thigh
3 off arm

So 41 cm or 16 inches

Cm sound more 😂

I've been really happy with Oushk. Really like the day of choice delivery and I've managed to get some good discounts. Like the option of a short call though, and the difference maintenance plans. I'm not close enough yet to have researched that properly yet though.

Put on 1kg over Christmas but that feels quite restrained really. Now for the final push towards a healthy bmi...

Happy new year all. Really good to see e everyone's progress.

owlyboo · 04/01/2025 00:06

I think that's a 'good' gain @Timetochange24 when you consider previous Christmas' it'll be off in no time!! Onwards and downwards

SilverSprings510 · 04/01/2025 01:17

Amazing @Blondeshavemorefun you must be thrilled 🤩

eeeeeeeee · 04/01/2025 04:11

@4pink1blue wow you look great! What amazing progress!

eeeeeeeee · 04/01/2025 04:22

So I went though my entire wardrobe last night. Everything was overfilled and my drawers/doors wouldn’t shut properly so I wanted to do a proper tidy for the new year.

Got a bit carried away and ended up staying up all night trying things on! Firstly I tried on my old clothes in smaller sizes to see if I fit or not…

I fit into everything I wanted to! I’m really shocked as that includes some things in a small. There’s still some jeans that I need to lose more though.

However I’m so happy as I can finally get rid of all the clothes that I bought when I gained weight. It’s crazy to think some of that was tight on me at one point - but now they won’t even stay up around my waist. I’m not sure if I’m going to donate these or maybe sell the nicer things? Has anyone tried vinted?

Motnight · 04/01/2025 09:26

What a lovely NSV @eeeeeeeee!

I've given a lot of clothes to charity. I am, frankly, too lazy to use Vinted 😬. I think because I have found clothes in my wardrobe that finally fit me I have taken the viewpoint that I am saving money anyway 🤣 Big pluses for me have been able to fit into a lovely Seasalt coat and 4 pairs (!) of boots!

Motnight · 04/01/2025 09:32

I am coming to the end I think of my 3rd pen of 10 mg. Have one more pen in the fridge. My DH who is on 5 mg has just picked up another 4 pens. He is being prescribed via the NHS. I honestly think that they have lost track of what he is being prescribed, he has 5 unopened pens now and 1 in use. He has an appointment later in the month but has literally been left to it. I think that he should have upped his dose to 7.5 by now - it's been about 6 weeks on 5 mg and his appetite is obviously returning. I have definitely had access to better information via Zava and this thread.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 09:43

@eeeeeeeee fab NSV

@SilverSprings510 yes nice to see lower numbers

@Motnight how did dh get it via nhs as that's really rare. Do they not do a monthly one pen then depending on his strength

You and 3s is fab. Well done

I think the charging for maintenance thing has been a bit misunderstood on MN, especially due to a couple of posters with an agenda.

There are three plans, the taper plan and the conti plan you are basically just buying the pen. It is a discounted price but if they have a better discount running you can use that instead. No cost other than buying the pen. The good thing is that Oushk have been upfront about allowing maintenance long-term rather than cutting off at a set BMI or set period of time.

The bit that causes confusion is the flex plan. This is £20 to stay on the books, get continued support, but not have a pen. I understand why people feel this is off, but it enables you to come off altogether and still have the option to go back on if your weight starts to creep up without having to be a specific BMI. I don't think any other supplier has this option and I think it is probably the only way to get around the issue of not being able to prescribe to a new patient below BMI 30, if you want to restart you have to still be having support as an ongoing patient.

I think if other pharmacies start doing similar, the price might come down. If the prescribing guidelines change for maintenance, then things may change, but at present, I don't think any other prescriber would let you have six months off and restart at BMI 25.

Anyway my priority is being able to stay on as long as I need to hit all the health markers I have in mind rather than just getting cut off at an arbitrary BMI, but then I want to be able to avoid regaining.

owlyboo · 04/01/2025 10:17

@eeeeeeeee I've used vinted you don't get much but it all adds up so depends if you have can be bothered/have a locker close to you as that's the easiest and quickest way. Well done on NSV!

So I weighed... and a STS well technically I lost but I always just count the kg as a whole if that makes sense so I've gone lower in the kg. Anyway I'm happy with that STS over the Christmas period is a win for me. Now onwards and downwards!

SilverSprings510 · 04/01/2025 10:32

Another -2lbs today, bringing me down to -4st 3lbs/-59lbs/-26.8kg so I’m happy with that. Looking forward to eating a bit more normally next week as back in work!

Weigh ins: -7, -5, -3, -2, -5, -5, -1, -3, -1, -4, -1, -4, -2, -5, -0, -2, -1, -2, -3, -2 ✨

weaseleyes · 04/01/2025 10:34

Well done @SilverSprings510 and @owlyboo! Saying the same or a loss are awesome outcmes at this time of year!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 10:44

@owlyboo fab sts over Xmas well done

@SilverSprings510 great loss

Agree at xmas like me that's amazing

Cloud seem to offer long term /forever maintenance - I linked the thread earlier

And no cost

Tho guess £20 a month is nothing v spending usually £130-150+

Good that cloud say you can pause now too, and that they don't charge during a pause. It would be interesting to know how long that pause can be and whether there are any criteria for restarting.

However Oushk look to be cheaper if you want to continue taking MJ for maintenance plus they do select a date delivery.

You also don't have to pay for the plan if you are using up a stash, you just show evidence that you still have medication and maintenance plans starts after that when you want to start titrating down or whatever.
