Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Good that cloud say you can pause now too, and that they don't charge during a pause. It would be interesting to know how long that pause can be and whether there are any criteria for restarting.

However Oushk look to be cheaper if you want to continue taking MJ for maintenance plus they do select a date delivery.

You also don't have to pay for the plan if you are using up a stash, you just show evidence that you still have medication and maintenance plans starts after that when you want to start titrating down or whatever.

I've just this morning ordered from Oushk as I am impressed with their maintenance plans - it feels like they have actually thought it through as opposed to many others who seem to be winging it at the mo and not clear on what may happen.
Caveat being - i only researched a few - not the whole list 😆

If I stick with them, I will need to be more organised however as the earliest select delivery date it offered is next Saturday and I've been used to 48 hrs.

Motnight · 04/01/2025 11:32

@Blondeshavemorefun DH has diabetes type 2 (actually mostly under control anyway) but also heart problems and MS. He was offered it without asking. But terrible support IMO. The mid January appointment will be the first time that he has spoken to a health care professional about his injections since he was prescribed them - at least 10 weeks ago.

Sorry to hear of his health issues 🥲

Hopefully mj will help some of the joint /muscle pain for him

But dreadful no supportive help

Yeah I liked the clarity, so many seem vague and while they make the right noises in response to questions there are lots of caveats and maybes.

Don't worry too much about delivery dates it is normally much quicker but they closed over Christmas so there's a bit of a backlog especially as they had some good discounts on around Christmas.

@WorriedRelative Good to know, thanks!

NippyCrab · 04/01/2025 13:36

@Addictedtobeauty @WorriedRelative I'm with Oushk and feel comfortable staying with them, I also got concerned regarding the affiliation nonsense on the FB group and I had a few comments to make on it 😂 i left the group as it was becoming a rabble as FB does ar times. I've had fab support with Oushk, personal one to one calls and I like the maintenance plans options. My call is Wednesday and I'm asking firstly about the plan continuing on a low dose as the narrative states a 15mg pen, I know that's not set in stone but I just want to ask the question.

Everyone has had fab losses and it's so good to read previous regulars updates 🥰

@Motnight i hope the MJ helps with your DH body, sorry he has MS 😞. I've found certain symptoms for me have lessened. That's really awful that the NHS haven't given support in that time! This is exactly one of the many reasons the service is on its knees ffs. Thank goodness you're there to support with any side effect questions etc.

We went for breakfast this morning, my intestines were still filled with butter chicken curry from last night, and a banana but I made the effort. The menu wasn't the best for choices, healthy option was porridge or fruit bowl and DH was saying aw get something good. He means artery clogging sugar rush things 😂
I went for pancakes with 2 rashers of bacon and maple syrup thinking I'd enjoy that and put syrup on just the amount I wanted. Well.... instead of a stack, it was 3 pancakes literally floating in a pond of syrup and FOUR slices of back bacon on top! Gave DH 2 bacon 🥓 and I struggled to eat it but i didn't want to disappoint DH as he's away on Monday and we don't get out much. It was actually really mega nice but I now have a rumbly belly haha, peppermint tea is brewing and I'm vegged out while DH and DSS are away to the football.

Who's got snow ❄️?

poppym12 · 04/01/2025 13:53

I haven't thought about maintenance yet as I've still got almost the same to lose again Blush. I am comfortably back in size 16 jeans though and apparently overweight rather than obese. It's a start I suppose.

I'm mid way through my second 7.5mg pen but it's not really doing much. I'm still calorie counting everything and weight loss is very very slow.

I'm thinking of using the last 2 doses and bonus dose of this pen to move up to 10mg. Is that okay to do? (I already have my 10mg pen in the fridge).

I'm also thinking of jabbing tonight rather than my usual Sunday morning as I'm going away next week and would rather not have to faff taking a pen with me this time. I could bring this week's forward to tonight then next week, jab before we leave for the airport. I'm hoping this might give any side effects from going up in dose to have calmed down by then.

So to get 10mg from a 7.5 pen, I'd have to do the normal dose then change the needle and count 20 clicks - or have I got this wrong and you can only count clicks to do a smaller dose?

Timetochange24 · 04/01/2025 13:54

No snow here but it's flipping freezing!

Bit of a random one but can I ask what you're all doing with dc's and/or dp's that doesn't involve food? I'm perfectly happy keeping myself busy of an evening without a plate of food in front of me, but dh feels ignored because apparently we can't have a conversation or any kind of connection unless there's dinner involved 😮‍💨

Oh, that's tricky. Thankfully my husband doesn't give a shiny shit about food - he'd eat the same meal for the rest of his life! 17 yr old eats on the go, occasionally in the kitchen bit we never really eat together as a family anymore.
I am having a cooking sesh this afternoon though, as I have really missed cooking on MJ!
I realise this reply is of absolutely no use - Sorry!!

PoemsForTea · 04/01/2025 14:40

@NippyCrab No snow here in Somerset - Booooo

Azuresky68 · 04/01/2025 14:52

Hi everyone ..I have been catching up on everything..apologies if I have missed anyone. Don't be downhearted @wohmum and anyone else who gained over the festive season...it will soon come off as it will probably fluid retention caused by change in eating patterns and alcohol. Well done to @owlyboo and anyone else St's. I once read that the average weight gain over Christmas and NY was 7 pounds...who knows where they get the average from but gaining weight is hardly surprising with all the food and drink advertising and mince pies appearing in August! Fantastic news @PoemsForTea @weaseleyes @Glittermoonlight @Blondeshavemorefun @SilverSprings510 @4pink1blue @WorriedRelative and anyone else I have missed. @eeeeeeeee you won't make much on Vinted but it all adds up. Do a search for items like yours to get an idea of price. It is fantastic for buying good as new clothes. I got brand new White Stuff t shirts for £5..over £30 in the shops. @NippyCrab I had my maintenance call with Hira even though I haven't reached my goal. I am not sure how long you can stay on the £20 no pen option? I find the pressure to eat socially really tricky. I haven't seen my daughter since before Christmas and she suggested going for a Thai meal tomorrow..I guess I will make it my only meal of the day. @Blondeshavemorefun and @WorriedRelative I am still investigating maintenance options. I am happy with Ousch but Cloud sounds interesting. I am wondering how long they let you pause for? Ousch so far have been great and offer regular discounts. Thanks for the link to the thread on this Blondes. Looks like there are several offering maintenance now. Pharmulous, Cloud, Ousch, IQ and The Family Chemist. For me it's cost and the option to pause and go back on without a big gain. My BMI is currently 27 and aiming for 25. I need to do further research. @Blondeshavemorefun are you the only one on 12.5? I am on 2nd 10 mg and tempted to go to 12.5 to lose my last 7 pounds...undecided but need to take advantage of 20% discount from Ousch which expires on Monday. Really sorry if I have missed anyone. One thing I am sure is that we are all in a better place than a year ago regarding weight loss...it's overshadowed all of my adult life. If I need to stay on it or pause and go back on it I will as it's transformed my life. Will post some 'Before' photos @Blondeshavemorefun when I get up the courage!

SilverSprings510 · 04/01/2025 15:48

It’s going to snow here later according to the met office - I hope so as I think my little boy will love it! He’s only seen a small bit so far (but he’s only one)

NippyCrab · 04/01/2025 16:47

@Timetochange24 what else do you enjoy doing? I read a lot, DH doesn't but he enjoys football and browsing little projects like how to do things like DIY (never comes to fruition)
We walk with the dogs or sometimes have a shorter walk and go for coffee afterwards. If you enjoy craft you could join a weekly club maybe or maybe look to explore historic areas round where you live. This is outing but I've lived here 30 years and never been to Burns cottage 😂😂 I've said for this year i want to visit areas myself without the dogs when he's away, it's not his thing really.
I don't know if this helps, tell us what you like xx

poppym12 · 04/01/2025 17:47

No one said anything on here so I've done the extra clicks to take me up to 10mg. Hopefully I won't regret it.

owlyboo · 04/01/2025 18:02

@Timetochange24 no husband, but two kids at home. I tend to do about 50/50. I'll make meals we can all enjoy together (spaghetti Bol/roast etc. about 50/60% of the time even though it's quite an effort when I can't eat much of it. Then the rest of the time I'll cook them something they'll like and they eat together and then I'll eat something smaller/healthier later on.

@NippyCrab no snow here in Devon, freezing and pouring with rain!

@Azuresky68 that fact makes the sts even better! Thanks! I'm on 12.5 been on it three weeks. Been okay, slightly more nauseous but that could also be the over Christmas!!

Sorry @poppym12 I know nothing about counting clicks!

morbidcuriosity · 04/01/2025 18:08

Hey August people.. anyone else get odd days of max suppression..

I'm on 7.5, done 5 jabs, 6th Monday.. last couple week I feel the suppression is less by Thursday (Monday jab day) but then sometimes like today Saturday its up there again and struggle to fit all the calories in..
I'm not too fussed as my weight is still high so lots left to lose but just strange.
The days this happens I'm just eating as much protein and fibre as I can and avoiding the cards..

owlyboo · 04/01/2025 18:19

Yes definitely @morbidcuriosity I've found my suppression really high today. Just struggled down some dinner but only managed about a 1/4 of it. I have two weeks (as long as I manage to get the golden dose out of 12.5. I think if my suppression is still at this level then I will have to count clicks with my 15 pen!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 18:34

@NippyCrab no snow here tho weather people say it will. It's very cold tho

Breakie sounds yummy

@poppym12 yes that's right 2.5 is a 1/3 of 7.5 so 20/60 clicks

@Timetochange24 only dd7 to consider so no real issues

@Azuresky68 sure someone else is on 12.5 as they went up last month when I would have but I did 2mths on 10

@morbidcuriosity I get the odd day when don't want anything usually day 3/4 but not often

morbidcuriosity · 04/01/2025 18:34

I'm tempted to go down to 5mg Monday, got a 5 and a 7.5 in fridge, Nov 2025 date.. but then don't want to regret going down if its not as good.
Decisions to make.. its just odd as my 7.5 kicked my arse to start with, but as the week goes on I feel normal and could easily manage my food.. but odd days like today there is no want of food at all..

No snow here yet, the forecast said it would be later on then all night. It has been really cold though! I went out for a ride as if it snows we won't be able to get out and my feet were frozen despite two pairs of socks, wool insoles and insulated boots.

We had a fantastic cloud inversion though, not sure you can make it out here but the wind turbines were sticking out of the cloud lying in the valley.

Thanks @owlyboo, @Blondeshavemorefun and @NippyCrab. I've saved the chart AGAIN - I know I've saved it before but couldn't find it earlier. I'm even worse with downloads and screenshots that I am with other stuff that I put 'somewhere safe' for it never to be seen again!

WorriedRelative · 04/01/2025 20:26

I have just been watching the oushk live, some really useful bits in there well worth a look. Tips for when to change dose etc but also a bit of clarification that the maintenance plans are flexible and you can swap around etc.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 22:16

Erm. We have snow ffs

HAte the white stuff !!!

Dd will be overjoyed
