Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Happy New Year, loves - here's to a happy and lighter 2025 for us all. Loving all the pics of everyone looking radiant.

@Fuffedoff Godspeed for the next stage of your journey. You've done so well! I hope you're proud of yourself. I also had an absolute shitshow between 2019-2023 - health, workplace bullying, lovelife - it does such a number on your when it all stacks up.

@owlyboo I'm sorry about exH being such a tool (and what is it about men being able to move on so quickly and just compartmentalise their lives?). Hoping that your anxiety can ease a little into the new year; and that someone lovely will turn up for you when you're ready for them.

Small update from here: I've been off MJ for...3 weeks I think? Kind of accidentally after the big work trip abroad. Going back on at the weekend, starting at 2.5mg again. It's been interesting to feel what it's like without it in my system. I have my appetite back, but not crazily so and I'm not aggressively hungry all the time. The biggest thing is that I feel like I can actually eat normal size meals again and my digestion doesn't feel weird. It's hard to judge whether my eating has been 'normal' over Christmas because it's Christmas - I definitely have eaten far far less than in any previous year, and I think that's testament to having cut out snacking and booze over the past 5 (!!) months and being clearer on what normal portion sizes are. I had a three-course delicious meal last night for New Years, cooked by dear friends, and I felt happy about being able to eat it and not feel guilty. Weight has sts and I couldn't find anything to wear last night as all of my going out-out dresses are now too big. Also now able to do some of the more bendy moves in yoga :)

But - I'll be re-jabbing on Saturday as i've got about another stone to lose, and, I'd like to be able to be more mindful about titrating down again and planning for an endgame when it's not Christmas.

AuntieDote · 02/01/2025 09:34

Happy New Year August gang. I’ve not been around at all over Christmas, will try to find time to have a bit of a catch up on the thread(s).

I think it’s been 3 weeks now since I injected. I’ve definitely been more restrained over Christmas than I’d normally be, but yesterday was a bit of the old me - found myself reaching for the quality street tub and mince pies, plus had a Bailey’s before bed. Woke up this morning with diarrhoea which I guess serves me right! Apart from that I’ve not really fancied overdoing the sweet stuff, and I think the effects this morning have put me off doing it again!

Haven’t weighed myself as the battery on my scales went - probably for the best - but I imagine there will be a small gain but nothing I’m too worried about.

Don’t know if you remember but I’d stopped after the constant side effects (D&V) just got too much and spoiled too many of the nice things I had planned in the run up to Christmas, as well as a holiday with my friend back in September and however many other things. I had a good run on 7.5 for a few weeks but it started again and I just felt I couldn’t keep doing it, especially not ruining Christmas with DD.

In two minds what to do now - I think I will use the pen I have in the fridge but count the clicks to go back to 2.5mg - hopefully I’ll get enough suppression to get whatever I’ve gained off plus I’d like another stone ideally. I was ok on 2.5 when I started, so hoping I can be again - not sure if it will work for me at that low dose especially having moved up previously, but worth a try.

FlappingMadly · 02/01/2025 09:45

@lookathatbookcase that's an exciting update and I hope gives you confidence for when you do titrate down. Get yourself in the sales!

@Fuffedoff blowing fairy dust your way too.
Stay with us! I'm really sorry that happened to you and glad your psychiatrist was on the ball and you're getting the medication you need. Big hugs. Big Big hugs.
And @NippyCrab really glad medication picked you up too. Big Big hugs your way!
@owlyboo sorry excuse of a father and husband- glad you're free of him. Things need to change and we be more like EU and parenting 50/50.
It's definitely worth a try @AuntieDote . A few salads and soups will have you back where you were. It's interesting how we all react differently to MJ.

Motnight · 02/01/2025 12:00

Happy New Year everyone. Getting over a really shit cold so not eating / exercising much or doing much at all but aim to catch up with the posts on here.

JoyousSwan · 02/01/2025 12:01

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a much lighter 2025 for us all!
Sorry I don't post much. Had a busy Christmas and new year. Had a little gain of 3lb but when I think of what I would usually gain over Christmas it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Looking forward to getting my focus back and want to lose at least another 4 stone this year.
Going to go back through the posts now and catch up.

Princessandthepie · 02/01/2025 12:14

Asda pharmacy have rejected me as I do not meet their criteria, they have suggested I use Alli, which I don't want to use.

What a fuss!

weaseleyes · 02/01/2025 12:27

Did they say on what grounds @Princessandthepie ?

Princessandthepie · 02/01/2025 12:34

@weaseleyes No but I've asked.

And I've just tried to reactive Voy and even that is pushing orlistat(?) rather than mounjaro!!

I'm out at the moment so when I get home, I'm going to try sorting it properly!!

I really hope I can get MJ again, I feel really panicked right now!

weaseleyes · 02/01/2025 12:47

Oh good luck - maybe their stocks are low for new year and they're prioritising existing customers or something?

Princessandthepie · 02/01/2025 14:20

I've tried again and still getting orlistat!!

Why is everything such a bloody chore??

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2025 17:11

@lookathatbookcase be weird you starting at 2.5 again. How high did you get to ?

@AuntieDote I R.E.M. you coming off as poorly. Maybe a few weeks off would have helped - did you feel ill on 2.5 or only 7.5. So maybe can tolerate 5

@JoyousSwan lovely to hear from
You and 4st will come off over the months

@Princessandthepie that's weird. Did you stop - what's your bmi now

Most suppliers should take you on as long a started over 30 and can show proof of old supplier

AuntieDote · 02/01/2025 17:34

Hi @Blondeshavemorefun - no 5 was horrendous for me, things were better when I went up to 7.5 for a couple of weeks but then the D&V came back full force. 2.5 was fine, I don’t know if I’ll get any suppression on it now though but worth a try!

SilverSprings510 · 02/01/2025 18:02

Happy New Year everyone! Looking forward to losing more weight with you all this year. Realised I haven’t measured in ages - will need to do that soon as def lost inches (2 dress sizes so far!) so will be interesting to see

Princessandthepie · 02/01/2025 18:40

@Blondeshavemorefun no idea but asda even said "even though you have previously had it somewhere else" so I honestly don't know why and they still haven't come back to me.

Still haven't heard back from Voy either.

I just don't understand why I've not been approved by asda or why Voy are now pushing orlistat rather than just allowing me to reorder mj.

I've just injected today so I have 2 more doses left so still time to sort it out but I'm bloody annoyed with myself for cancelling in the first place just so I could save some money!

lookathatbookcase · 02/01/2025 18:46

@Blondeshavemorefun lol, only as high as 3.75mg 😔

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2025 19:17

I must do that tomorrow on WWJ day 😂

Ah yes @lookathatbookcase and the nympho @NippyCrab are Augusts low doses 😘

NippyCrab · 02/01/2025 19:23

@lookathatbookcase hello wee low dose twin 😂

Will I weigh in tomorrow? Urgh, it's better i do i suppose. We had a long walk today, I've not been great with walking wheras when DH is away I'm out for a big walk daily then always on the go with chores and sometimes a road walk with the pup.

I want to be at goal by the end of February but I also want to be doing more resistance stuff for toning the wrinkly bits before our holiday in June.

I need to go back and read the posts again I've not taken them all into the brain. Xx

lookathatbookcase · 02/01/2025 19:25

@NippyCrab So low!!!

wohmum · 02/01/2025 19:25

Happy new year 🤣🤣

great to hear of all those losses or even sts over the biggest eating week of the year!

I’m feeling a bit down about it tbh … I was down to 11 st 1.5 on Xmas eve and feeling very positive but weighed 11st 4 on 29th and 11 st 6 today!! But I haven’t massively overeaten at all I swear .. I’m guessing it’s mainly water weight which I’m holding on to due to eating more carbs than usual and not actual fat (god I hope not!), but it’s made me doubt the losses I had previously …

Been out today with my OH and ended up having coffee and cake , then soup for lunch but have just polished off 1/2 a M&S lasagne with chips! A few weeks ago that would have given me horrendous indigestion …
Official weigh in and jab day tomorrow (I’m on 4th week of 7.5mg) …. But out with girlfriends tomorrow night and just know I won’t make good choices :( Aargh!!

sorry so long … and not really sure what I’m posting for !!

owlyboo · 02/01/2025 20:00

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Feeling much lighter today and the heavy feeling in my chest has been much better so feel the anxiety lifting slightly!

Think writing it all down really helped to offload as I don't really do that in real life.

I weigh in on Saturday. I'm hoping for a STS again. My eating has been fine but I have been having wine most evenings! So hopefully won't be too much of a gain if there is one.

@Princessandthepie I can't remember what bmi
You're at now? Annoying they won't honour your previous buying... if stocks are low maybe they're not selling to people at to low a bmi as they're greedy and think well they won't be on it as long as someone which a much higher bmi?

I always order from chemist 4 u. So can't help with switching but I ordered my pen a few days ago and it's arriving tomorrow so could give them a try?

owlyboo · 02/01/2025 20:01

@wohmum you can't have possibly put that on in fat unless you have been strapped to a lard machine since Xmas eve 😂 it'll come off in no time. Try not to worry! Enjoy your last few festive days then back to it!

owlyboo · 02/01/2025 20:03

@NippyCrab go for the weigh in. I'm sure it won't be too bad!! And if you have had a gain hopefully that will guarantee a nice loss next week!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2025 20:06

Yes you will @NippyCrab !!

I did last Fri 2 days after Xmas but sts

So hoping for a loss tomorow as bens in my cals this week
