Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Hope everyone is ok and managed well over Christmas with eating and jabbing?

My weight is more or less the same this week (all by 100g) but I'm not surprised because I did go over calories for a couple of days whilst staying with family. I am surprised that I've lost another inch off my waist and almost 2 inches from my hips. How does that work?!?

Motnight · 30/12/2024 11:47

That's really useful info @Blondeshavemorefun. I am also hoping that by the time that I get to maintenance lots of companies will be offering various deals.

We had family round for lunch and drinks yesterday. I think that I ate around half of what I usually do. Still ate well and had dessert! And I suddenly realised when I went to bed last night that the amount and type of food that I ate had no influence on my having a lovely day. In fact I felt better physically and emotionally for not stuffing my face. Sounds really simple but I have never thought this way before.

20bloodypounds · 30/12/2024 14:15

@Motnight that sounds like a great success. I had family visiting yesterday, I had a starter, then a small portion of the main, and I just chose not to have pudding. I think people have got so used to me not having dessert that they don't notice anymore, they've certainly stopped commenting. In general I say that since cutting out sugar has resulted in me losing my sweet tooth. In reality I've always preferred savoury food, an it's a relief now not to feel pressurised into having something I don't want.

SilverSprings510 · 30/12/2024 14:24

Has anyone found a good solution to the gas? I’m doing comedy belches and they’re awful! Was actually quite painful last night too so would love to get them under control as it’s the only thing I’m finding tough to be honest!

BigSilly · 30/12/2024 14:34

Bit worried, I am 10 now, and have come down with the most awful cold I have had in maybe a decade, or maybe it's flu or covid. I can't eat or drink anything at all because I gag, and the low blood sugar is making me dizzy - I have toppled over earlier. I m trying to sip lucozade but its a struggle. Its the first time I've been ill on mj

I mean I am on 10 mg, not that I am a size 10!

troppibambini6 · 30/12/2024 15:25

Hello everyone! Just had a little catch up.
I didn't eat loads over Xmas and didn't drink any alcohol but when I weighed after Boxing Day a 2lb gain but weighed this morning and I'd lost 3lbs. So down to 11"6.

I've had to bite the bullet and order some new jeans. I'm literally living in leggings and even they are getting saggy.

So two pairs of size 12 jeans on the way. Not been that size for a looonnnggg time!

Dh is starting in the new year. He's nervous about the actually jabbing. I let him watch me the other day and he thinks the needle looks huge 😆😆

troppibambini6 · 30/12/2024 15:26

@BigSilly I'm sorry you're not feeling maybe try some ice lollies? Sugar and re hydration might help.

I tried 2 alkaseltzer tablets in water and found that that either eased them or got rid for about 12hours + 🤣

doingitthistime · 30/12/2024 15:31

@Blondeshavemorefun and anyone else, if you've not used zava before they've emailed to say they're offering 25% off with code, not worked out the price but sounds good,

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/12/2024 15:43

Well done @poppym12

@Motnight I'm hoping most will do maintenance

@20bloodypounds I'm a savoury girl as well

@SilverSprings510 never had any issues. Sorry can't help

@BigSilly sorry been poorly - try sucking ice lolly /cubes to get liquid in

@troppibambini6 I think Many gained just after Xmas due to excess salt /sugar

So depending when wi some escape the little gain as body gets rid of it

So glad you did and yah for size 12

I haven't been with Zara yet. Mainly due to cost but if need to swap I will after this pen

@weaseleyes said iq give monthly discounts so fingers crossed

Just managed the hard twist again from my pen, I have syringes but glad I've not had to use them yet..

So weigh day today, and as I said before I'm not really a Christmas person so didn't have any extra food etc..
But yay for me....
14.6 . That's 4 stones lost since I started.. wow, well happy! That's 3lb this week..

Now I'm looking forward to seeing a 13, was so happy when I saw a 14, so the feeling of a 13 will be so much more..

I like so share here as I only talk to 1 friend about this so you lot are my mounjaro social. Haha.

20bloodypounds · 30/12/2024 16:02

@Blondeshavemorefun everyone thinks I'm 'so good' not having a pudding - they don't see all the nuts and crisps though Grin

@SilverSprings510 I echo the alkaseltzer - cures most things in life, but make sure you don't have the XS version with added caffeine, not at night time. But I found omeprazole solved all my reflux / gas issues. Sold OTC.

@BigSilly when I was very ill a few years ago I diuted lucozade - it made it flat which was easier to manage, or if the fizzy is easier try apple juice and soda. Also dioralyte - keeps you sugars and salts in balance. or the cure-all Alkaseltzer Are you in bed keeping warm? If you need to get up do it very gradually, sit for a while before standing, and always have something to hold onto.

@troppibambini6 I remember shaking with fear the first time I injected - so used to it now! I hope MJ works well for your dh and that he isn't the type to bother you too much with all his 'extaordinary' side effects Grin

I'm really hungry today so have resorted to hand sewing linings into my bags to stop me eating - beats washing up which is my other hunger distraction 😆 I'm basically a 1950's housewife. Definitely gonna do 10mg this week 🙂

Why aren't you eating @PoemsForTea

What have you eaten ?

OP posts:
FlappingMadly · 30/12/2024 20:15

Good news @Blondeshavemorefun
Is maintenance for longer important for you? I reckon in two years time there'll be a pill.
I'm nowhere near maintenance yet but want to keep my lowest weight for 2 years.
@PoemsForTea maybe you're genuinely hungry?
@NippyCrab is there any chance you could share the choc cake recipe? Me and dd think it looks lush. Maybe there's a reason I'm STS 🤔😂
@morbidcuriosity that's fantastic! 💃💃

@morbidcuriosity very cool.

PoemsForTea · 30/12/2024 20:31

I had eaten today Mum/Blondes, I was just feeling like a greedy twat - because I'm at home alone and not working - and there are xmas snacks lurking!

Had yoghurt and raspberries and all bran, then an omelette with Gammon and cheese for lunch.
Lots of water - just snackish so found a distraction! Had dinner now - am a 3 meal a day-er!

I'm not sure @FlappingMadly as they seem cagey about 2yrs in total rather than 2yrs when at goal iyswim

By the time I get to goal prob going to be April / aug so 6s in a yr

I'm still a good 2.5s from maintenance just concerned once bmi is 28 that I'd swap a supplier may not take uou on as that's what med express said

@FlappingMadly yes sorry I forgot! I changed it a little, it was an Insta video DH sent me I had to keep pausing it to get the recipe so I will link the video and the screenshot. It says use oreos for the base but I didn't know if I had to use them with the centre in or do you get oreos without the cream? I don't eat them so no clue. I used chocolate digestives with Borders biscuits with the raspberry pieces in for the base, did make it very hard and crunchy though, and I halved egg shapes lindor not the round ones and crushed maltesers too. Bloody lush.... oh and I also used proper milk chocolate not the chips. Xx

I know I need to eat as not healthy to never eat

I still look at the what did I eat thread
