Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

Jab 2 day 2 and the sulphur burbs and nausea are back 😢. Feel like I'm going to be sick, which is what happened on day 2 last week. Anyone else had this and it's stopped happening every week? I don't think i can feel like this on a regular basis 😕

I'm W2D5.

I had terrible nausea for 3 days or so after first jab. For second jab I took it in the late afternoon, slept terribly, vomited in morning and was nauseous all day. From D3 onwards though all has been fine - no nausea, good suppression (but not too much - just hungry at appropriate times and a small meal is enough). Some but not all the nausea was due to the lack of sleep.

I have been taking some version of omeprazole (can't remember exact name) that I get in Sainburys. And mint tea and protein drinks helped on first day after jab.

I did drop to 2mg for the second dose as couldn't risk the same side effects as first jab. I'm going to stick to 2mg for next dose as well.

Overthemoun · 09/01/2025 08:13

jab 2 today.

SW 13st 12
CW 13st 8
1st goal - healthy BMI at 11 stone 1
waist now 33” - started at 34”

4lbs in week 1 - it did stall towards the end of the week but still only had around 1200 calories each day.

I wish I’d measured the biggest part of my belly as that feels so much less bloated!!

Week one on Mounjaro Completed! Today is Jab 2, which I will take this evening, like last week.
Side effects so far
Day 1/Day 2 - metallic taste in mouth, went after this.
Day 3 - Severe headache which stopped me doing pretty much anything
Day 6/Day 7 - Constipation/trapped wind, but also on my period and always get this so may not be the mj.
Overall I was expecting much worse!
Didn't have time to measure waist, hips etc this morning so shall also do this evening, but I did weigh myself 😊

Stats Time
SW - 214.3lbs
CW - 204.5lbs (9.8lbs loss after just one week!)
GW - 168lbs

Wow! Great week one loss!! Hopefully less side effects for you this week.

broccolini · 09/01/2025 08:28

Just weighed after first week and have lost 3.6 kg/ 7.9lb so pretty happy with that...!
Just feeling less swollen, belly (a little) smaller and legs lighter. Also more positive in my outlook on everything.

Thanks! Yes, as it stands I've don't think I'll be going up to 5mg next month. My suppression is really good and I didn't find it wore off towards the end of the week and the nausea is not nice. I might order the 5mg pen if it's the same price but extract 2.5 doses instead, if I can figure out how.
I wish I'd measured myself because my tummy feels a lot smaller and a lot of bloat seems to have gone.

VelvetWildflower · 09/01/2025 09:11

Water weight has gone now which is disheartening. I'm firmly in fat burning mode. Jab day tomorrow (3rd one) and down 3.7lb this morning (for this week).

The formula says if I want to lose 3lb a week I have to eat 1131 calories which I'm managing most days but I can do 1500 calories to lose 2lb a week. 1131 calories feels very restricted sometimes but that's because I'm so used to not thinking about food and eating huge portions of whatever I want so I have to remind myself that's not usual or normal.

Grecianrainbow · 09/01/2025 10:20

I’m 3.5lb down in first week, just done my second dose. I have had my period too so still feel bloated in my stomach. I’m trying to do some weighted workouts at home to stop too much muscle loss but it can be a squeeze trying to fit it all it around kids activities/ work/ still cooking for everyone.

Seaitoverthere · 09/01/2025 10:24

This is all really positive, so pleased people are seeing results!I have just ordered a 5mg pen although most probably won’t increase for a bit when the time comes.

Due 3rd injection tomorrow and am hungrier but all good. I am waiting to see if order is approved. Didn’t use the same provider as before as my roof is leaking and I don’t have the funds for customer loyalty currently so used the comparison site. First one I tried rejected me on having had gallbladder surgery so went with the second cheapest for the pen which is £109 including delivery and cheaper than my 2.5mg pen.

Total spend for both pens is £234. I will be using bonus dose so 10 weeks worth and £23.40 a week. I am eating less and am reigning the shopping bill back which is offsetting a chunk of that.

ThisisnotwhatIhadplanned · 09/01/2025 10:30

@VelvetWildflower I am in exactly the same boat as you. The first week I lost 2.7kgs, this week I have actually gone back up from 83kgs to 83.7 😭. Feeling thoroughly disheartened. However, measuring my waist was a huge boon.

I had a G&T last night as has a horrible week and my youngest was feeling every sad emotion going throughout the evening, and feel absolutely rubbish today. Normally alcohol relaxes me but I never get tipsy or drunk. Just one G&T had me feeling quite tipsy, and I was absolutely soaked through with sweat and so dehydrated this morning-it hurt to lift my head off the pillow! I don’t think I will do that again! I wouldn’t say I was hungover as such, but I don’t feel on top form.

I am going to order the 5mg pen as I feel like this week the willpower has been better but the appetite suppression is definitely not as strong as it was last week. I have been sticking to 800-1000 cals a day, so I am definitely in deficit.

I’m jabbing tomorrow-this week has been a 700g gain, but hopefully that means I will see a loss next week. I’m so proud of everyone on here-choosing WL injections is so daunting!

IwasatMandStoday · 09/01/2025 10:31

I am actually in profit…

weekly savings….
take away coffee
bottle of wine
minimum 1 take away,
chocolate
biscuits
crisps.

minimum saving on shop per week is £40, 🙌

Mounjarry · 09/01/2025 10:43

I've decided to do my first dose tomorrow, any tips on whether morning or evening is better?

Changingnameagain · 09/01/2025 10:46

Congratulations to all those reporting losses!
And commiserations to those who haven't seen the shift on scales they want, yet! I have no doubt you are in for a big loss next week.

Similar to PPs I think I'm going to shop around and try and get my next pen cheaper. I paid £140 for my 2.5mg with Asda and was gutted when I discovered that referral code website Nd saw i could have got it for £109!
I'm a bit worried about it not arriving in time or something but if I order this weekend it should be ok.
I am due to jab again this evening. Didn't have time to weigh myself this morning. I'm feeling sluggish and constipated again despite my 20mg Flax and lots of fruit in last few days. It is very annoying and hope it doesn't impact my weight loss result for the week when I weigh officially tomorrow morning

MissPobjoysPonies · 09/01/2025 10:46

My week 1 gave me a low level headache and some nausea. Week 2 has been much better (although both weeks I’ve had moments of horrible reflux), incidentally I’m in HRT and my sleeping is now SOOOO much better - I’m awake one night out of 6 so far which is a huge bonus for me.
im also “hungry” but have no desire to eat or don’t fancy anything - times gone past I’d have gone to the cupboard and tried everything to satisfy myself - again a huge bonus.

My suppression is less towards the end of the week, but my thoughts here are that once I come off this I am going to have to have changed my habits so I’m going with it. Jan 3 is tomorrow and I’ve reordered a 2.5mg pen again as it seems to be “working” but I may change my mind and want to go up half way through the next pen.
Ive also been drinking an electrolyte drink through the week so I don’t know if this is helping with the previous headaches.

TicTac80 · 09/01/2025 10:46

Morning all, on day 6 here. Hunger and food noise suppression continues. I worked Tuesday and Wednesday...didn't feel hungry and did not reach for the (numerous) tins of chocolates and cookies that are dotted about the ward. I did have a mini flapjack bit (50cal) on Tuesday, but otherwise no. Calorie intake has been between 600 and 1200. But mainly around 800 mark. Definitely minimal snacking! I have to force myself to eat sometimes!! I have been having home made veg soups, curries and stuff like that. I've decreased portion size so that I don't feel sick, and am trying to really listen to cues of feeling full up...and making what I eat count, in terms of nutrition where possible. Not "banned" anything, hence I had a couple of crackers with cheese yesterday, a mini flapjack the other day - I guess just smaller amounts of what I might have had before. Still need to up my protein intake...and make sure I keep on top of taking multivitamins.

Constipation almost took a hold, but I kept an eye on that. I've discovered that the Yogi Detox tea is lovely! So tasty! Someone had left a box of it in the staff room cupboard for months. I asked around to see if it belonged to anyone, and whether I might take a teabag to try. Really refreshing! It has a spicy, sweet taste and is a wonderful alternative to my usual black coffee or plain water :)

Activity wise, I'm doing "something" each day that I'm not working (I hit 10k-20k per shift) - so either strength training, cycling or treadmill. Haven't weighed myself today, and need to measure myself too!

ThisisnotwhatIhadplanned · 09/01/2025 10:47

@Mounjarry, I jab before bed to sleep through the nausea, as I have a phobia of being sick. I don’t actually think it matters though, as I had to do it a few hours early last week and it had no effect.

I just weighed myself and I have gone up another 1/2kg, so have gained 1.2kg this week 😭😭. My period has now finished so there is no reason for the gain. Gutted!!

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 09/01/2025 10:52

It’s such a strange experience. I’m on day four of my first week. I get peckish but then feel full up quickly when I eat something.

Yesterday’s food:

2.30 pm - tiny bowl of Shreddies because I couldn’t be bothered to cook anything. Tiny as in I could have counted the actual number of Shreddies 🤣 Probably about a fifth of what I would normally have.

6.30 - 3 eggs with white cabbage, onions and broccoli cooked in a bit of butter.

8 pm - about a third of a protein shake.

MFP clocked it up to be 502 calories. I’ve been averaging 700-800 calories the other days. I don’t want that to be the norm but even if it’s a 5:2 situation that’s sustainable.

I also can’t consume the vast amounts of tea I would normally get through!

Tentatively dipping my toes in the thread... Signed up to SheMed this morning.

Nervous because although I am a card-carrying Big Gal, 16st at 5'4", I have no health complications and don't take any medication whatsoever. Never have aside from the odd antibiotic. This will be the first medication I've regularly taken and I'm feeling weird about it, feels like a HUGE step.

Anyone else in the same boat?

user1471600203 · 09/01/2025 11:03

Thanks for your reply, that’s good to know. The HRT seems to have triggered my first period for 3 months so I’m eating everything! I did a little search last night and it turns out mounjaro is seen as a supportive medication alongside HRT to prevent menopausal weight gain (and get rid of the peri gain too!). I’m going to go for it this evening.

@Mounjarry and @Ohyay that’s my starting weight too! I found the needles ( doughnut!!) and it was surprisingly easy, and pain free.
