Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

Really keen to watch that video linked - DH is a PT and quite skeptical about me doing Mounjuro (not for anything negative, he just doesn’t fully understand what I am injecting myself with and I am bad at explaining) but we’ll both be keen to figure out a strength training session to help me. I go from zero to 1000% in terms of my training - for example I could go six months of doing 30 mins of kettle bells every day at weights of like…24/32/48kg and then I’ll just stop and do nothing for six months. Same with cycling - I’ll do months and months of 20 miles every day and then just drop it. So clearly I need consistency! I wish I was someone who needed to exercise in that I feel worse if I don’t…but I just don’t sadly.

Thelittlestranger · 08/01/2025 11:26

@GorgeousLadyofWrestling as you have a PT for a husband you may not need this, but I found the Caroline Girvan app really handy when I stopped using my PT. It gave me options for strength programmes to follow to keep me consistent and not have to think about what I needed to do. I now dip in and out, and use YouTube dumbbell workouts at home, and higher weight workouts for the gym. But the key for me is mixing it up, or I get bored.

DH and I have just watched this :

It is a guy looking at the science behind GLP-1s. DH wasn’t really aware of all the evidence that is starting to come through so to have someone pull it together was really good. It is an hour long and won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but well worth a watch I feel.

We hear a lot about the importance of resistance training to offset the loss of muscle that comes with it and he went into that explaining that those who do it whilst using Mounjaro lose a bit slower but do significantly better with weight regain when they come off. I haven’t been to the gym for huge amounts of years so need to think about it all. It did motivate me to find some that are around and have a quick go!

I’m so glad they keep the referral codes on one thread now. I think the pharmacies that do them are very shortsighted and the use of these codes have contributed to some of the negative media on WLI. Not adverse to discount codes but the referral aspect puts a whole different spin on it. The price comparison site is really helpful and very grateful to whoever started that one.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I'm going to watch later.
I had read on threads about the muscle loss when using WLI and as I'm close to peri age I've started doing some kettle bell lifting at home to help try and build muscle whilst I lose.

Hi all 👋. Just completed my 2nd jab.

SW 1st Jan 15st 3.8 (15.6 on Boxing Day when I ordered)
CW 8th Jan 14st 11.6
GW around 11 stone.

So 6lb down! There is some appetite suppression but also a lot of willpower, which is fine as I need this to be a long term thing. I was definitely hungrier from day 5. Only side effects were the dreaded burns and constipation for the first couple of days. Flaxseed and some constipation tablets helped.

Does anyone not keep their pen in the fridge once started?

Let's keep going x

Changingnameagain · 08/01/2025 12:38

Congrats on your brilliant losses @cloudjumper and @IdentityCrisis101 absolutely brilliant!
my jab day is Thursday so I should weigh tomorrow but mornings are such a rush for me on my work days that I think I'll have to weigh fridays on my days off instead. I weighed yesterday evening though after dinner and was still 7lb down from starting weight so hopefully that stays the same by Friday!

@gorgeousladyofwrestling Wow you are seriously strong to lift kettlebells like that! I've bought an 8kg and 12kg thinking I'd ease myself in on 8kg and be up to 12kg quite quickly by absolutely not. I thought I'd retained my strength from lifting and hulking my large toddler about but seems not!

tinyemmy · 08/01/2025 12:43

Hello! I hope it's ok to join! First jab done today. I have about 3 stone to lose.
I debated on what day to jab but then just thought why wait, just get on with it. I'm hoping for no side effects, particularly as I go on holiday on 19 January!

Nearly 3 stones too loose for me too. Welcome and good luck!

Thanks so much for this! It’s made me feel a lot better about any long term side effects

AmythestBangle · 08/01/2025 13:02

OMG my first one just arrived! Planning to start this evening!

Zempy · 08/01/2025 13:50

My Juniper package arrived today. I have linked the scales to the app on my phone. I have to say, I am very impressed with the huge amount of information and support I am getting from Juniper.

Will inject tonight. Feeling optimistic 😍

unicornsaremagical · 08/01/2025 14:18

@Overthemoun ah that’s cool we could compare progress. @Grecianrainbow you might be ok if the first wasn’t giving any bad effects, fingers crossed.@cloudjumper thanks for the tips and good luck!

im also waiting on mediexpress dispatching mine hopefully it hurry’s up

notanothernamechange24 · 08/01/2025 14:18

Mine finally arrived today and I have just had my first injection. Completely easy and painless. Excited to begin a new chapter

I've looked at the instructions but I'm so uncoordinated I'm worried I'll mess it up 😂 to add, I'm a nurse but terrible doing things like this to myself

stilllovingmysleep · 08/01/2025 15:40

Hi all, I got my prescription approved yesterday (used chemist 4U and found them good at this very early stage), wondering in your experience how long does the delivery usually take in most pharmacies and do I need to keep the injections in the fridge? Sorry if questions are obvious complete newbie to this stuff! Smile

Also. I've noticed others mention which day they do the jab on. Can I ask why that is? Does it make a difference for some reason?

notanothernamechange24 · 08/01/2025 15:42

@Mounjarry honestly it was really easy. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. You will be fine. The needle is tiny and I barely felt it.

Im starting Friday! I think people mention the day as it tends to stay the same all the way through so people may need to plan which days best. I'm doing Friday as I work outside the home and so if I get any side effects I want the worst of it to be at the weekend.

I hadn't thought about where I'd store it though. It can be out the fridge for 30days so maybe I:ll store it in my room.
I Wonder if it makes a difference.

In my head I'd feel a cold jab more but that might not be the case.

keeponplodding7 · 08/01/2025 16:17

I’m starting on a Monday as I’d rather have more suppression at the beginning of the week and less on Saturday and Sunday when I’m with the kids etc

FattyBumBumNoMore · 08/01/2025 17:00

@JoJothegerbil Zava is now saying they’re preparing my order. I’m hoping this means it’ll be dispatched tomorrow and I’ll receive it Friday. Still no tracking details, but my account dashboard has changed during the day.

Waffles21 · 08/01/2025 17:44

Well done everyone, some amazing losses, and that waist size decrease is fantastic!
still waiting for med express here, confirmed 31/12, dispatched 5/2 but Royal Mail sent it to wrong depot and it’s still there 😪. Med express aren’t being especially helpful, this was after me ordering from
simple online pharmacy before Christmas and them not telling me about delays so I cancelled! Hopefully it will come
soon!! Good luck everyone.

My order says 'done' but still no tracking and no email from Royal Mail either. It's got to be dispatched tomorrow to be here by Friday. Think I'll call them tomorrow.

Therealmetherealme · 08/01/2025 18:27

@Mounjarry it's fine, just follow the instructions. When you inject keep the pen with the window facing you, so you can see when it gets to 0.

Therealmetherealme · 08/01/2025 18:28

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden it's much easier than the flu jab. You probably won't feel a thing.

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 08/01/2025 18:40

Would someone please mind explaining a subscription plan, if you’re on one?

I’m fixating on what to do about maintenance. I’ve literally only just started but using MedExpress. I don’t want to be in a position of losing loads but wanting a pen to maintain and being rejected, so I’m thinking about not ordering again with ME and switching to a long term plan.

My delivery with Zava came on the very last predicted day. I had contacted them as
i wasn’t particularly impressed with the service

I also wonder about this. And would value the opinions of others down the line. I suppose it's a very new medication for most people and new tool for weight loss so perhaps lots of all this is being figured out as people are learning?

When I talked to my GP, she suggested people go on an off it and that that's ok; but I was puzzled on what that means, given that in order to go on it from what I understand people need to be a certain BMI: so surely people don't have to wait to gain a lot of weight in order to go on it again; there could be some level of prevention at a low weight if the medication works?
