Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

Well that is disappointing, a whole 20 mins and not skinny yet 😫🤣 well done on starting, keep us posted how things go!

Seaitoverthere · 23/12/2024 18:54

What a load of rubbish, I may see if I can get a refund 😀Well done on doing it.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 23/12/2024 19:28

Yes do keep us updated! 😂.

I'll probably be a couple of weeks away but keen when I get all set up!

dizzygirl1 · 23/12/2024 20:25

can i join too please? my pen arrived a couple of days ago so i'm thinking boxing day or the day after start. i think i'm looking for a 3 - 4 stone loss. I'm feeling quite nervous.

Cuppaandcakes20 · 23/12/2024 20:55

Can I join in? I've been thinking about it for months and finally ordered. Equal parts terrified and excited for change.

Bringonchristmas36 · 23/12/2024 22:40

Hey, can I join? I just signed up. I feel nervous. Im More excited about the food noise stopping than the actual weight loss. I give so much time to thinking about food.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 23/12/2024 23:28

I don't think I do think about food lots in terms of thinking about it during the day.

I just don't have any impulse control and struggle to pkan/organise/take time to cook. I want it "now"! Taking time to cook is hard. I am also being assessed for adhd.

Alivein25 · 24/12/2024 03:27

I’m in. Ordering today and hoping to start early Jan depending on delivery time. Feeling really apprehensive about it but also optimistic and determined. Hoping it will not put me in hospital with pancreatitis! Current BMI is 33.7, 94kgs, I’m late 50’s and I want to lose 35kgs. I have cardiovascular issues and take meds so it’s quite scary injecting more meds into my body, but I’m just so tired of being overweight and really unfit. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and supporting each other.

Amchou · 24/12/2024 06:54

I’m just going to sign up. Hope get accepted. Will like to join this thread. If that’s ok. I did try three doses manjuro through medexpress. But my next dose was showing at £179. It was too much to carry on. £99 months looks appealing.

Seaitoverthere · 24/12/2024 07:27

I’m a bit worried about pancreatitis as had a bad experience taking cocodamol which I tolerated fine before gallbladder removal but I think aggravated my pancreas after taking it.

Friend is a diabetes nurse and prescribes it and says she does say that it can be a side effect. She has decided not to try it as is losing weight slowly without it as I have been but I want to see if it helps my inflammation. I think she is waiting for the big study into it and regain rates before she goes there but has said in her opinion oh it is good - if you can tolerate it, that bit worried me !

My rheumatologist did suggest to my GP that I would be a good candidate but they ignored that part of his letter. Have decided I want to try now and have regular bloods done due to other medication, off for one this morning.

FatGirlDosing · 24/12/2024 09:19

Morning all and welcome new joiners!

Have woken up this morning tired but not remotely hungry. My resting heart rate overnight was about 12 bpm faster than usual (akin to if I’d had a couple of glasses of wine or a heavy meal late, neither of which was the case yesterday).

Otherwise normal so far other than it being almost 9.30am and I’ve not been tempted by the bread bin…!

I'm in. I got approved yesterday so assuming it'll be here any time from Saturday to Monday. Planning on taking the dose the day it arrives.

I've been on Mounjaro before and lost 2 stone in 2 months but the side effects from 7.5mg were horrific for me so I stopped. Starting on 2.5mg again and hoping to stay at 5mg for as long as it's working to avoid 7.5mg again for a bit.

I've got about 10 stone to lose in total so I'm planning on eating 1500 calories (I'm also quite tall so this is still about 715 calories under my BMR). Doctor has said this is safe so I'm ready to go.

FatGirlDosing · 24/12/2024 10:55

Well, it’s definitely working. I haven’t actually told DH or my DDs what I am doing so have just had to go along with a breakfast roll. One of my issues is the speed I eat. I’d normally wolf down a roll with bacon & and egg within a couple of minutes. It’s just taken more than ten to eat 3/4s. Fortunately everyone is so wrapped up in planning last minute tasks they didn’t notice!

cloudjumper · 24/12/2024 12:21

Are you all going to count calories? I'm trying to decide what daily target to set... Focus will be on getting more protein.

Happytoday69 · 24/12/2024 20:03

I started on Saturday in the end - felt a little funny on Sunday and very full all day but feeling fine now. Am counting calories, it’s definitely working for me, so pleased.

Happytoday69 · 24/12/2024 20:04

Tomorrow will be interesting - I’ve not told wider family. Hopefully they won’t notice that my portions will be very small !

Seaitoverthere · 24/12/2024 21:27

That’s very positive @FatGirlDosing and @Happytoday69 , well done !
@cloudjumper I use Nutracheck usually so will continue with that .

Seaitoverthere · 25/12/2024 08:06

Happy Christmas to you all. Looking forward to there being significantly less of us physically by this time next year !

Bucket07 · 25/12/2024 08:10

I'm in. Still waiting for my pen to arrive so thinking I'll start at the end on the 28th. I have a myfitnesspal account so am going to track my food that way.

Would like to join too , will be ordering beginning of Jan , just over 5stone to loss

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 25/12/2024 11:51

@VelvetWildflower oh no what sort of horrific? And was there anything we could do to avoid them

I'm not starting to the 10th JAN (my blood test kit has arrived which I'm doing on the 2nd then once approved it will be the 10th as I want to fk a Friday)

I'm in for the longhaul as I have 10stone (at least) to lose so am v nervous about side effects and will need to plod through with them.

Id love to hear how everyone's getting on as you all start taking them! I'm severed to weigh as I think I may be up to 22 stone and haven't weighed for a few months...
