@InfoSecInTheCity your achievements are amazing, I am in awe!

I have just ordered another 5mg pen, and am now wondering whether I should have ordered the 7.5mg. I am really really feeling the hunger now, but keep telling myself it's good training for the long term to get used to feeling hungry.

ginnybag · 13/05/2025 16:25

@InfoSecInTheCity you and I are similar in many ways - your water comment just jumped right out at me, because I am exactly the same. 2 ltrs plus or I don't lose an ounce regardless of anything else I do.

I started at 225lbs, I'm currently at 146.6. I'm shorter than you, I think, from previous posts because I'm only 5ft, so I lost the first 20 or so lbs extremely quickly and then it's been a pretty consistent line.

My original 'ambitious, never gonna happen target' was 145, and I'm a hair away from that. I've reset that now to 135, and we'll see.

To be at an 'ideal' weight for my height, I actually need to be around 110-115, but that seems (still) completely unlikely. I don't think I'd look healthy - I wasn't that light at 16 and I was a size four dancer back then.

But, like you, I eat very similar things on repeat, varying rarely and almost never going over my count, I log religiously, I have a woosh week every month with my period, and a stall in the week before, and, yes, the water thing is real....

InfoSecInTheCity · 13/05/2025 17:25

@ginnybag I actually have a real mental block on the water thing, I feel like a kid being forced to squeeze out an apology because for years and years I fobbed off drinking lots of water as being one of those health fads. I existed on coffee and Diet Coke, easily in the 12 coffees a day range on a pretty regular basis, if I could have had it on IV I would have.

now I have to admit and extol the virtues of the blasted stuff, and I’ve had to cut back my coffee!

sylv165 · 14/05/2025 07:49

Gah! I feel like I have done everything right this week - ate well, exercised even more than usual, made sure I drank enough water, no snacks, just 2 glasses of wine on Saturday - but am 1lb heavier this morning. Got to stick with it, but just feel quite frustrated that I seem to be stuck around this weight no matter what I do.

sylv165 · 14/05/2025 07:57

Oh AND I increased my dose! I’m raging, if you can’t tell 😂

Bumblebeehum · 14/05/2025 08:02

Morning, I’m back to weighing daily (and determined to break this chocolate habit, any tips/substitutions welcome?).

I’m still 1lb off being Overweight, but the scale starts with a 12 so a minor victory.

i’ve also had a few NSV’s lately, I’m wearing summer skirts without the chub-rub shorts AND I’ve bought some size 14 shorts on Vinted that fit!! (As a 🍐 this is unbelievable).

thank you for the reminders on water, can always drink more.

InfoSecInTheCity · 14/05/2025 08:03

@sylv165 I know it’s hard but you just have to wait it out. Don’t give in to the frustration keep tracking your food intake, keep drinking the water and know that it will work.

The scales are capricious little bastards and easily influenced by a whole host of stuff like hormones, sleep levels, stress levels, water intake….. even just being moved a few millimetres or a speck of dust under one of the feet can change the reading, but they do eventually relent if you stay consistent.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 14/05/2025 08:24

@sylv165- may I rage with you? I’m in exactly the same place and it’s driving me nuts. Keep the faith!

sylv165 · 14/05/2025 08:51

Thanks @InfoSecInTheCity, I will keep on keeping on. But it won’t stop @Itisallgoingtobeokand I having a little temper tantrum this morning. I think it just reminds me of the bad old days pre-MJ where I tried and tried but nothing worked for me. I still have good suppression so there is no reason why it won’t kick back in again. Thinking back, upping my exercise has always caused a stall for me. No idea why, but my body seems to fight back and hold on to weight even more and I’d always gain weight. It used to take 6 weeks before it would settle, then another few weeks to get back to where it started…hoping it doesn’t take as long this time!!!

simb · 14/05/2025 08:54

Good morning!

I haven't updated in a while - currently on 10mg and continue to avoid any side effects thank goodness. I'm down to 9 stone 9 from my starting weight of 12 stone 5... I've been losing very slowly intentionally so that my skin comes with me and so far that's going ok although my stomach is still very wobbly! BMI currently 26.something (I'm short) so still overweight, however I'm feeling so lithe and healthy and strong that even if I stopped here I think i'd be ok with it.

I had thought about stopping as I'm struggling a bit with the jab itself at the moment - the last month or so the thought of it is making me feel so incredibly nauseous, and it's become a bit of an ordeal, which is strange after so may months of doing it with no issue, but it's always ok once I've done it. I thought perhaps it was time for me to stop and see what happens if I go it alone, however having got this far I think it's worth getting down into the healthy BMI with the assistance of the MJ.

Does anyone have advice on which pharmacy is best for maintenance or restarting after pausing? I'm thinking of switching to Oushk (if anyone has a discount code please feel free to ping me). Any advice welcomed.

I love hearing about how everyone is getting on!

Oh I might actually know the answer to this.

Upping exercise is great! It builds your muscles, your cardiovascular system, boosts your endorphins, fab stuff….but….. it builds your muscles by tearing the fibres of the muscles and then the growth of new tissue between those fibres is what makes them stronger and bigger. That’s what makes them achy and sore, that whole process uses water so when you do more exercise and get achy muscles your body starts to retain water to facilitate the healing.

The answer is a rest day and as always more bloody water, I swear I think I’ll drown from the insides out some days.

Bumblebeehum · 15/05/2025 10:13

Just a quick one, I’m back in Overweight Star

PLEASE let this blip be over, and let it go down from here - 30lbs to Normal should be easy (it was 65 to get out of Obese)

sylv165 · 15/05/2025 13:04

Well done @Bumblebeehumfingers crossed the downward trajectory continues!

MandarinDentistTiger · 15/05/2025 21:40

Well done @Bumblebeehum

I like the way you've looked at your progress.

I have lost 51lbs and have 28lbs to next milestone, just in the healthy weight range.

I lost 2lbs this week. I logged everything and drank all of the water.

20bloodypounds · 18/05/2025 20:55

Some great progress, some stalls. But we're all still here. Thus is the only weight loss approach where I wouldn't have given up by now. Although I'm in a stall (and on holiday which isn't helping) at least I keep going and I'm not rocketing back up the scales.

I've been more lax with what I'm eating, but because of MJ I can stop after one slice of delicious bread. I can thoroughly enjoy delicious ravioli, but leave almost half of it - because I have had enough. Before MJ, I didn't really know what that felt like.

InfoSecInTheCity · 19/05/2025 06:21

Weekly weigh in (week 36) 1.6 lb loss and I’ve broken under 150lbs!

Starting weight - 217.5 lbs (BMI 33)
Current weight - 149.7 lbs (BMI 22.8)
Total loss - 67.8 lbs
GW - 141 lbs

sylv165 · 19/05/2025 08:12

whispers I think I might be a normal BMI 🎉. Wednesday is my official weigh day so today was just a sneaky wee progress check, but I’m 1.5lbs down which takes me to BMI 24.9!

Bumblebeehum · 19/05/2025 08:25

Absolutely @20bloodypounds8 months of looking after ourselves!
Congratulations @InfoSecInTheCity and @sylv165 🥂

I can finally post a weekly weigh-in with a 2lb loss, the stall is over! I’m now at my lowest in 16 years having lost 27% of body weight - and yesterday I had a proper fat day of feeling I looked HUGE and nothing fitting properly 🙄

SW 245lbs
CW 178lbs (67lbs and no longer Obese 😊)
GW 145lbs

sylv165 · 21/05/2025 09:16

I jinxed it. After a sneaky weigh in on Monday where it looked like I had finally achieved a normal BMI, I weighed again this morning for my weekly weigh-in and I am not 1, not 2, but 3 POUNDS heavier than on Monday. This is after a week of tracking every calorie, increasing my dose (and really feeling it), running a total of 18km and doing 2 kettlebell workouts. The scales are getting chucked out the window 😂

Up your water, the exercise may be causing retention heal sore muscles. If that’s the case then a couple of days of hydration and a rest day will fix it

sylv165 · 21/05/2025 09:52

@InfoSecInTheCity I swear, I have been drinking at least 2 stanleys full of water plus an electrolyte every single day. I cannot possibly be dehydrated! But having gone up a dose I am a little constipated so that maybe accounts for 1lb 😳. I have also started to take some vitamin/mineral supplements so I wonder if any of those could be the culprit. Must do some google research in my lunch break

InfoSecInTheCity · 26/05/2025 06:33

Starting weight - 217.5 lbs (15 st 7.5 lb) BMI 33
Current weight - 149 lbs (10 st 9 lb) BMI 22.7
Total loss - 68.5 lbs (4 st 12.5 lb)
Goal weight - 141 (10 st 1 lb)
Loss this week - 0.8 lb

Bumblebeehum · 26/05/2025 09:20

Did it shift @sylv165?
Excellent numbers @InfoSecInTheCity

Delighted to have dropped my standard 2lbs this week (although it’s no longer standard and I’m grateful to see it!). NSV this week is I can sit on any tube/theatre seat and not touch people on either side - 11 inches off my hips will do that!! 🥳

SW 245
CW 176
GW 145 (for now)

I also had my first “How far are you going to take this” question this week (I’m only just out of Obese, people don’t like it!)

MandarinDentistTiger · 26/05/2025 12:26

Congratulations on being a normal weight @sylv165💐

Well done @InfoSecInTheCity

I lost 1.2lb this week. I did a fast for two days and it seems to have got me out of my plateau.

NSV was shopping my wardrobe. I had some lovely wide leg trousers and a nice blouse, BNWT. It felt amazing to wear something I know was way too small.

I was in a new office this week with people I have not seen in 6 months. No-one commented on my weight loss. I think that a good thing tbh.

I had a family member ask me if I lost weight. I have moved from obese to overweight. I have a stone and a half to get to normal weight and have lost nearly 4 stones. They then told me to "keep on going" a few times before I asked them to stop. They will be the same people saying I have gone too far when I'm hopefully where I want to be. I have said I won't be talking about my body or health with them. They need to worry about their own selves.

sylv165 · 26/05/2025 12:46

@Bumblebeehum well my scales ran out of battery on Friday so I actually don’t know. Probably a good thing lol. I’ll get another battery today but in the meantime I’m enjoying living in ignorance!

@MandarinDentistTiger ice had a similar weekend. On Saturday I met up with a cousin I haven’t seen since summer, and my weight was the first thing he commented on. He is an athlete and very into nutrition so wanted to know all about what I had done, what I was eating, what exercise I was doing, what supplements I was taking. I’m not telling anyone in my family that I’m taking WLIs so was all a bit awkward. Then went to a birthday party with one of the kids on Sunday and lots of other parents commented on it too. All being really positive and saying I looked great, but I don’t really know how to react to that sort of attention.
