I bought some new undercrackers and bras recently. I have some inspiration dresses in my wardrobe. They should defo look nice when I'm where I want to be.

Morning everyone. I’ve been a bit quiet over the past couple of weeks as I’ve been busy with work/kids/life. I haven’t really been focusing on what I am eating, have had lots of trips away from home that have meant I am not completely in control of what I’m eating, and have slacked off on exercise. However, I have stayed the same weight so not gone too far backwards, and have been back into routine from Monday.

I am also now about 11lbs away from my goal weight, so starting to think about maintenance options. I’ve decided that want to stay on a low dose of MJ for at least a year. I’m scared of going cold turkey in case I end up right back to where I was, so going to take my time coming off to try and build up my muscle and really embed good habits. I’m also keeping an open mind about staying on it long term if I find I need it.

The only bad news to report is that as I have lost weight from my face, my marionette lines are becoming atrocious. I spend a lot of my time on teams calls staring at my own face so I think I’m becoming a bit obsessed with them🤣. I didn’t think I would ever try Botox but I am seriously considering it - unless anyone can recommend a miracle cream to sort them out?!

EBoo80 · 18/02/2025 08:34

Hi @Tipster100 - pharmacy advice is always to change frequency rather than mess about with quantities. But I know others on this thread manage to alter it successfully (too much maths for me).
depending on its expiry date you could always keep the 5mg pen for maintenance/titrating back down? I’ve done that with a 2.5 that I bought optimistically.

That's good to know - thank you.

I really didn’t think I’d be the kind of person to do this but in the last 18 months I have had Botox for forehead, frown lines and crows feet (the three ‘classic’ areas - apparently 😆). I’ve also had filler for my marionette lines (like you, I spend much of my time on Teams calls trying hard not to stare at my own face in the bottom right hand corner) and have really been impressed with the results. I am not interested in fillers anywhere else but it’s made a huge difference.

I’ve also started using tretinoin on prescription and feel like I have “the glow”.

sylv165 · 20/02/2025 21:51

Interesting @85reasons! A friend of a friend is a Botox practitioner so I might have a little chat with her tomorrow 🤔

What does tretinoin do? My skin itself is reasonably ok, just starting to look it’s age and weight loss doesn’t seem to be helping!

@InfoSecInTheCity I've not been as present on mumsnet recently but I'm happy to see you're still smashing it. How was your holiday?

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/02/2025 12:56

It was bloody lovely @LucyBnotG 18-20 degrees, sunny and quiet. Me and DD spent our days sitting on the beach eating ice creams, swimming in the indoor pool and exploring the local town.

Good morning, I didn't report in yesterday as I was showing alcohol induced water retention on the scales - but ultimately I lost 1lb last week. Not bad, but I'm annoyed about the slip.

Week 26,

Last week I found my gym output very difficult, I followed my normal program but my muscles seemed to be on low power mode so I swapped things around a bit and managed workouts but not what I had planned. I gym early morning before work so I'm trialling having a glass of fruit juice before I leave home to see if it's a fuel thing. So far so good, I felt strong on Monday's leg day and increased some weights/reps.

I have been suffering from some body dysmorphia where I couldn't see anything but my old size and shape when I looked in the mirror. I feel like my brain has caught up again now and I'm enjoying seeing a size 16/L body when I see myself.

Loss - 29.1kg … an elephants penis and an ostrich egg 🐘🍆🐣. 23% decrease in body weight.

Goal - to be in the healthy BMI range (70.3kg)

LucyBnotG · 25/02/2025 11:45

@SpottyBumPony I have been struggling at the gym this past week feeling exactly as you described and I have been down about it. The fuel issue is a good point and I often don't eat before exercising as I had to the gym first thing. I may try the fruit juice thing too.

Your weight loss is incredible, well done! I'm sorry that you're struggling with body dysmorphia, I hope your self image can catch up with your actual image before long.

MyFunnyLemonCritic · 25/02/2025 16:52

hi everyone, I’m wanting to start Mounjaro, does anyone have a link or photo of the table that shows the cheapest prices and discount codes please?
thank you

MandarinDentistTiger · 25/02/2025 22:41

1lb on this week. I seem to be taking the same 1lb on and off over the last few weeks.

The scales are helpful for tracking and encouragement

Family member mentioned my weight loss. Quite negative and judgemental.

I am happy with my progress and determined to get to a normal weight range.

MandarinDentistTiger · 26/02/2025 13:54

I took my next injection today. First time I have taken it during the day.

I didn't eat anything after dinner last night. I find taking MJ not long after food upsets my stomach and makes me feel unwell.

EBoo80 · 27/02/2025 11:10

Lovely to hear continued updates from folk.
I had a nice unexpected loss today, after being quite happy maintaining for this month. (I’m maintaining at the top of healthy BMI so it’s not a worrying loss).

Having occasional wonderings about ordering another 5mg pen, or even trying 7.5, just to get a bit lower but I think it’s the right thing to keep titrating down and see how it goes. I have one 2.5mg pen and then will try without for a month or two. I like that I have the reassurance that I could go back on if needed.

Bumblebeehum · 27/02/2025 15:31

Well done @EBoo80!

this last week I have felt proper hunger on my usual dose (which hasn’t changed for 8 weeks), so gave another 4 clicks on my 5mg pen and it’s done the trick. I’m now on 4mg. Will see how long this one lasts!

20bloodypounds · 27/02/2025 16:37

I am on holiday this week - lovely and warm in the Canaries. I still have quite a fat tummy so not parading around in a swimsuit, but feeling very OK in shorts and a sleeveless top. Wouldn't have done that last summer. I had my injection the evening before I left (still only on 5mg). I find that I'm enjoying food at the breakfast buffet, whereas at home I often skip breakfast. Then that keeps me going until the evening. Not tempted by the desert trolly, but having more alcohol than at home Blush

I noticed that quite a few of the food outlets at the airport give the calories - that's quite an eye opener! And it quashed the temptation to have a totally unneeded meal (out of boredom, not hunger).

EatingTillIDie · 27/02/2025 21:18

I think I'm going to have to conclude mounjaro isn't working for me. I've barely lost anything since September. I lost nearly 2 stone on Wegovy a year earlier.
Does anyone know whether I can swap over without a break and starting over? So demotivated right now reading all these great stories of losses and I've lost only 4lb in all these months :(

tomatobasilandmozzarella · 28/02/2025 09:45

Hi, I hope it's ok to jump in and ask a question. I've been on Mounjaro for 7 weeks now. All has been going well and I've lost a kilo a week. No side effects really, not even when I went from 2.5 to 5. Then, suddenly, 3 days ago I started doing eggy burps and developed explosive diarrhoea, a sore tummy and aching limbs. I work with kids so there are always bugs going around and I'm about 90% sure this is just a stomach bug. I've literally only eaten a couple of pieces of toast a day for the last couple of days so I don't think the diarrhoea could be a reaction to rich or greasy food. Also, my adult son has been burping and says he has an upset tummy. I'm supposed to be ordering my next pen today and had planned to go up to 7.5, but I'm just a bit unsure. What if this is not a bug - should I keep going with the pen? Can you take it when you have a stomach bug? TIA.

StanleyCup · 28/02/2025 14:24

EBoo80 · 28/02/2025 17:48

@tomatobasilandmozzarella - there is no rush to move up if you are having good losses on 5. I never went beyond 5, which is not uncommon. Sorry you’re unwell!

EBoo80 · 28/02/2025 17:49

@EatingTillIDie that must be so disheartening. I have no wisdom about wegovy, but didn’t want to not respond.

jupiterhigh · 01/03/2025 08:27

Morning everyone, is anyone else finding this bit hard? I have lost a 1lb this week, taking my total to 4st 6lb. It's really slowed down since hitting an overweight bmi instead of obese.

One part of me thinks great it's time for it to slow down, but another was loving the highs of the bigger weekly weight loses. I know I am being ridiculous, I was on a holiday last week, drank and ate what I wanted and still across feb I have lost about 3lbs total.

I'm so sorry you have had this experience - it must feel very hard when others are losing so well. Definitely talk to a pharmacy about trying one of the others - there are 3 choices of injection, aren't there? I might be wrong. What made you move off Wegovy when it was working?
