Hi @Seldomseenkid good luck with it and I hope you'll keep posting to let us know how maintenance goes. Huge congratulations on getting to your goal and also on your clarity about why you gained weight, what you want to do going forward, and why it's now the time to stop MJ. I really admire your clear thinking and it's made me think I need to do some reflection on my end .

I'm still losing slowly but 2.5mg seems to be the right dose for me balancing side effects and weight loss. I've also started going to the gym which has made a big difference I think. I'm bouncing btn 69-70kg and would like to lost another 6-7 to be at goal. At this rate, it will be another 3m or more it feels achievable.

@sylv165 I found the transition from 2.5mg to 5mg the toughest - I spent a few weeks inching up, then tried 4mg one week and it was too much and had to go back down. I eventually made it to 5mg and am now on 10mg and haven’t struggled with any other transitions 🤨

Having said that I’m week 3 of 10mg and last week had very weird spaced out/nausea and some GI issues. Hopefully that’s settled down again but I’m in no hurry to move up any more!

Thanks @85reasons. I’ve just gone for 5mg again so will see how it goes. Really hoping I can eat tomorrow 🤞

Wow @InfoSecInTheCity how incredible! Have you been buying new clothes gradually or are you waiting for a big bang? Anything you're really pleased to be wearing again?

I have rediscovered some lovely jumpers and blouses that were too small on the arms even though they fit(ish) on the body and I'm enjoying wearing them again.

85reasons · 03/02/2025 07:58

Another amazing loss @InfoSecInTheCity !

I had a mini win over the weekend, ordered a few skirts to try on at home (channelling Claudia Winkleman kilt-style 🤩) and the 14 was hanging off me (we won't mention one size 16 wrap around which I love which wasn't that big and I may keep as the 14 and 12 are out of stock grr). One I ordered was a size 12 and that fit easily. I have never been a size 12 in my adult life (at 5'8 I have spent most of my life at an 18 and at times up to a size 22).

What's weird is not having the sense of slight panic I have felt before when I get down to a 16 or 14 because I never ever felt confident I could maintain without a steely focus at all times. Holidays or celebrations made me anxious because I'd worry I'd put half a stone on and then slip back into the overeating phase again...

I have never had any clothes in the sizes I'm wearing now. I was in size 16/18 when I started dating my husband when I was 16 yrs old and I've been everything up to a size 24 in the intervening years but never below a 16.

I have been swapping clothes on Vinted. Will
Sell a big batch and use the proceeds to buy a batch in a size down. Currently most of my clothes are size 14 but discovered I can just about wear a 12 so will be doing another swap soon.

When I get to goal weight I am going to treat myself to a mega splurge and buy some wonderful new clothes but trying to keep costs low in this transition phase.

sylv165 · 03/02/2025 08:54

Amazing progress @InfoSecInTheCity! it is actually reassuring to see someone still losing fairly consistently so close to goal. I had assumed it was inevitable that the last stone would be a long, slow slog.

I jabbed 5mg again last night and it is really kicking my butt this morning. I feel quite nauseous, and can’t eat a thing. Even making the kids breakfast was a struggle. At least I know now - I’ll drop down to 4mg next week.

85reasons · 03/02/2025 13:31

My last stone is proving really difficult @sylv165 - crawling towards the finish line. Having said that, I'm about 3-4 pounds lighter than I was just before Christmas so it's not as though there's NO movement. It's hard at this time of year too because generally I'm wearing loads of fluffy thick jumpers and hiding under duvets so it's hard to feel as though much is different, but the fact is I'm about 40 pounds down from August which is great!

Bumblebeehum · 03/02/2025 15:06

Hi all, lovely to read everyone's progress, I remain on 44 clicks of a 5mg pen and no reason to go up as I lost a standard 2lb again this week. I'm around about half way through the journey I think and now lighter than I've ever been on MFP (joined in 2013).

Selling all my big clothes on Vinted and replacing with medium sized Vinted purchases. I did buy some new size 16 jeans this week which are a little snug but I love, so think I'll keep and wear every day for the next 3 months (when they'll be too big and I can sell them on)

The stats are:

SW 245
CW 296
GW 150

SpottyBumPony · 03/02/2025 15:40

I'm enjoying picking up clothes in the charity shops to slim in to. I don't want to spend lots on things that I only plan to wear for a month or two.

I'm saving up to have a pretty woman shopping trip when I reach a weight I want to maintain at.

40lbs is amazing! I am down 30lbs so far and am approaching the last stone. I expect it will take about 3 months to lose it (and I might decide to go lower after that depending on how I feel) so it feels like I still have a long way to go.

InfoSecInTheCity · 03/02/2025 16:56

Figuring out an end point is interesting.

I have 6lbs to hit healthy BMI but there's still a lot of belly fat so that definitely won't be it for me.

The ideal weight calculators say I should be BMI of about 22, which would be another 29 lbs to lose and that feels like it might be too much, I don't want to look skeletal or gaunt.

I figure I'll know it when I see it so I'll just keep going till I hit the right stopping point.

sylv165 · 03/02/2025 17:17

It is difficult @InfoSecInTheCity. I’m currently 10st exactly, and top of a healthy BMI for me is 9st 2lbs. I spent my 20s and early 30s just under 8 stone and looking back at photos I looked pretty much ideal, slim but still curvy. But I’m now 44, the wrinkles are starting to show and I think that would just be too low for me now. So going to get to 9st and make a decision then.

InfoSecInTheCity · 03/02/2025 17:29

I'm guessing im quite a bit taller that you @sylv165 because top end of healthy for me is 11st 10 lbs and a BMI of 22 would be about 10st 5 lb.

I last saw an 11 at the beginning of my weight in final year of Primary school so this is honestly a bit trippy for me but getting below that feels full on insane. I can't even begin to imagine what I'll look like.

sylv165 · 03/02/2025 18:34

Yes @InfoSecInTheCity I am very short, 5ft 0 so our healthy weight ranges are going to be very different!

InfoSecInTheCity · 03/02/2025 18:41

I'm 5ft 9! One of the good things about being tall is that I can eat more and still lose weight, even when I get down to the middle of healthy range, maintenance calories will be 1650 a day, so I'll need to restrict to about 1200 while I'm still dieting to get to that point, but on MJ I know that's eminently possible.

There have been many occasions I've wished to be a few inches shorter so I didn't stand out amongst all my friends but for this particular situation it's a blessing.

SpottyBumPony · 04/02/2025 08:31

Week 23, I've noticed a lot more snacking and my portions increasing over the last few weeks so have increased my dose to 4.5mg. By the NHS protocol I should be on 12.5mg by this point!

Huge milestone moment - I am under 15 stone! It might only be by 1.92oz but the last time I reached 15 stone was 2012. We had planned a pony camp with friends and I wanted to be able to share in pony swapping and ride other peoples horses as well as my own sensible weight carrier. I made it to 15 stone a few days before the camp but I was calorie counting to the extreme and pretty much starved myself the last 10 days. Then of course spending a week with friends, hungry from lots of riding, camping and fresh air; eating bbq and cakes, drinking wine ... I immediately put loads back on and then slipped straight back in to binge eating and headed right back up to 17 odd stone.

I didn't weigh myself for years and years (#avoidance) but I estimate I haven't been this weight since I started college.

30/08/2024 - 122.5kg
03/09/2024 - 120.9kg, first dose 2.5mg

28/01/2025 - 96kg
04/02/2025 - 95.2kg, 23rd dose 4.5mg. 14 stone bracket - lowest weight since college.

Loss - 27.3kg … an elephants penis! 🐘🍆over half way to goal.

Goal - to be in the healthy BMI range (70.3kg)

EBoo80 · 04/02/2025 09:06

That’s an amazing achievement @SpottyBumPony. Well done you and hope you’re patting yourself on the back this week.
My daughter rides and I must say I am often a bit freaked out by the weight limits stables have (obviously for good reasons).

Seagullsinawinterwonderland · 04/02/2025 10:03

This time last year size 22 today I'm wearing size 18 White Stuff jeans 🎉. Three sizes down in six months.

Hysterectomy next week so I'm off the jabs two weeks and still lost 2lb. I'll be off two weeks after also.

My mum has been very unwell since I stated and is in and out of hospital. With all the mess going on I'm unreasonably proud I'm just over 3 stone down 😁

Oh hi! Just a casual post from someone who now fits into a size 10 jumpsuit. Can’t quite believe it!!

Oh hi! Just a casual post from someone who now fits into a size 10 jumpsuit. Can’t quite believe it!!

Argggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Whoop whoop.

If someone had said 6 months ago "in Feb next year you'll be wearing a size 10" would you have believed them?

sylv165 · 04/02/2025 19:45

Absolutely not @InfoSecInTheCity! Its the little things like this that really remind us how far we have come!

MandarinDentistTiger · 04/02/2025 20:30

I've it on 1lb. I ate without restriction for three days. I did not drink alcohol, I think that saved me.

Reminded me of what got me into this pickle. I ate well all week and overindulged Fri to Sun. Not massively, but enough to gain 1 to 3lbs a month

I bought some Diesel jeans for my target weight as incentive. Back on it yesterday. Not sure if I should order another 7.5mg or go down to 5mg.

MandarinDentistTiger · 04/02/2025 20:32

Well done @sylv165

9lbs to top of overweight range
3 stone to go

sylv165 · 04/02/2025 20:56

@MandarinDentistTiger that was/is exactly my problem. Just lost it completely at the weekend. At least you are conscious of it, and rather than letting 1lb get you down, you are straight back on it!
