Weigh day for me

SW 15.6
CW 11.11
GW 9.7

Used my new Renphoo scales too which was great!

After a very slow January hovering around 12 stone I have got back in the gym and moved up doses, which seems to have done the trick. 12 stone is a very common weight for me to be at so I wonder if this was a set point for me. Also moved supplier to The Family Chemist after hearing about their maintenance plans on a Mumsnet thread. I have been worried about what happens when I get to normal BMI as there is no mention of maintenance with Lloyds, who were otherwise excellent. First delivery has been good and much cheaper!

Have got a wedding at the end of February and ordered a dress in a size 12, hoping it's not over enthusiastic and it will fit!

MandarinDentistTiger · 19/01/2025 11:39

@CountingSleepySheep that is an amazing weight loss in 18/19 weeks. Your size 12 should be sound. Hope you like it.

I went over to see a good friend last night. I've only told a few people I am taking MJ, she is one of them. She could really tell I'd lost weight, nearly 3 stones. She also said I look younger. I am getting extra benefits of inflation reduction from MJ. I am also taking collagen and other supplements. I think it all helps.

I’m starting to feel like exercise is coming a little easier now. Just finished week 3, run 1 of couch25k and was able to extend the final run from 3 mins to 6 mins without dying so taking that as a sign of progress! Really hoping for a loss this week 🙏🙏🙏

85reasons · 19/01/2025 13:07

Well done @sylv165 - massive pat on the back for doing that - I of course HAVE NOT STARTED.

But. How about we maybe buddy up? I have thought about starting a WLI C25K thread but worried I’d be alone 🤪. I am about to go for a walk but want to go out for a run first thing tomorrow. I just need something to make me actually do it!

Incredible weight loss from people on this thread - it’s so good isn’t it??! Have any of you ended up encouraging friends/family to give it a go? I have two friends who have now started and a couple of people at work who are interested. Not that I’m peddling drugs to people….

Hildabaggins · 19/01/2025 13:26

I am finally under 11st!! Only just, I am 153.8lb but it is soooooo good to see a 10 on the scales. I’m still obese, I have a couple of pounds to go to get my bmi below 25. But I feel like I am nearly there.

I haven’t told anyone that I’m on it so I’ve not encouraged anyone else to do it.

SpiderMother · 19/01/2025 13:27

@85reasons Id really like DH to do it. He is very unhappy with his weight and lost a lot a year or so ago and then regained it all. He’s been changing roles and busy at work but I hope he might do it in the spring.

SpottyBumPony · 19/01/2025 15:22

My DH has also said he might start in the spring, he gets biiiig dopamine hits from sweets and snacks though so he is worried about not eating them.

Traditionally if we have dieted together before he finds it incredibly difficult

Sounds like me - the eternal yoyo dieter. I lost 5 stone 4 years ago - then had a stressful work year and piled 3 stone of it back on. Sounds like he's gearing up to do it - must be encouraging for him seeing you do it first!

mimosa1 · 19/01/2025 16:25

Great to see so many success stories here! I'm losing a lot more slowly than many of you, partly bc I'm super sensitive to the digestive side effects so keeping doses low, but I feel so encouraged to see your progress and feeling pretty pleased with my downward trend all the same.

@Hildabaggins I'm annoyingly close to the 25 bmi too but I think if you're only a couple pounds away, you're definitely not obese anymore, and should be squarely in overweight category so progress Grin

My DH is also thinking of doing MJ though he's not actually heavy enough, at least I don't think so. I know that when he decides to tackle his weight, he only needs to cut out sweets and bread for a few weeks and it will fall off him anyway... -grr-

20bloodypounds · 19/01/2025 16:38

I've not told anyone. I have a friend who was NHS prescribed Ozempic so we have some good discussions, but from what they have shared I know they don't think people should be able to get private prescriptions. However, dfriend has given up because of side effects and got no support from NHS. They just stopped the prescription. I suggested looking on this site but dfriend is trusting her GP. Sadly.

I mean they are correct to trust GP but their GP is following a set protocol, no variation to meet my friend's needs.

I am just creeping down very slowly. That's fine for me.

Hildabaggins · 19/01/2025 19:51

Yes, @mimosa1 , you’re right, I am ‘overweight’ not ‘obese’ now. Hopefully I’ll be ‘normal’ very soon!

I had a NSV this week when I bought size 12 jeans and they fit me. Normally I’m squeezing myself into a size and wondering if I need to size up, then telling myself I don’t need to, these will fit fine once I’ve lost half a stone. This time, the size 12 do fit fine!

@85reasons yes go for it!! I will definitely join a threat if you start one, and if not happy to try and keep you accountable here.

I definitely recommend giving it a go. I last tried it over the summer when I was almost 2 stone heavier. I had to give up somewhere around week 3 because my knees were sore, my ankles were sore, my shins were sore, I was ridiculously out of breath after a minute of running - I was basically just too heavy for it. It was one of the major factors in starting MJ - I wanted to at least lose enough so that I could exercise effectively. And the difference in just 6 months is amazing. I’m not exactly an athlete but it all just feels so much more achievable.

friendlymummy · 19/01/2025 22:57

I just went to take the fourth dose of my 10mg pen and the pen didn't work. It felt jammed. I know from here that some of you have found it harder to get the bonus dose lately, but I don’t use that, I just squirt a little of the fluid every week to check the flow etc before injecting. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel really pissed off as I've had to move onto a new pen a week early, and it's not cost-effective, especially as I'm with Voy. If it has happened to you, did you complain and did they offer a new pen/money off? It's the first time this has happened.

This hasn't happened to me but if it did I would use a syringe to extract it instead.

I don't have any spare syringes at home and wanted to take my dose on schedule.

EBoo80 · 20/01/2025 08:00

How annoying @friendlymummy. I had a (different) issue with a Voy pen right back in September and the slow and AI-generated customer service response was the nail in the coffin with me moving elsewhere. Truly hope they’ve improved!
You could keep the pen and use pliers to do a ‘hard twist’ (like those of us using bonus use) for next week’s dose, and then you’d be just about within 30 days for the new pen you’ve opened? (Maths might be off - haven’t had my coffee yet)

85reasons · 20/01/2025 08:45

@friendlymummy I can imagine it's very annoying but I'd order some and just use that dose for next week? You'd still be within the 30 day limit. You can try getting a refund but I imagine they'll argue the toss.

@sylv165 I have just gone for a run! So pleased I did it - was very hard getting out of a warm bed.. I did W3R1 as I'm impatient - but it was quite tough going by the end. I was able to run for over an hour two years ago but then piled weight back on and like you say, when 2-3 stone heavier it just feels too hard. I'm under no illusions that it'll help with weight loss - it never has that effect with me - but for my mental health at the least I'm delighted I've made the first start. I will start a thread....

sylv165 · 20/01/2025 09:00

Ah brilliant @85reasons! You are at the same point as me then, W3R2 tomorrow. I also don’t get a massive weight loss from running, but between that and a bit of strength training I do think I start to change shape. Will keep an eye out for the treat and promise to post so you don’t feel lonely😂

Thank you, @EBoo80. I've decided to move from Voy too because the AI thing is so annoying, they're much more expensive and they don't seem to have a maintenance plan in place.

What time do people take their injection. I tend to do it at 8.30pm in case of an adverse reaction.

I like the scale and am getting used to them. I think they will feature in my post MJ life, if that's even a thing.

I am up 0.4lb since Thur. That's about 1.5lb weight loss on the week. Planning for a bigger loss this week.

MandarinDentistTiger · 20/01/2025 14:22

@infosec well done on your progress. You have had some pretty big drops along your timeline. Is there anything you did differently on those weeks?

I take mine in the morning because it reaches its peak around 24 hours after that so it doesn't compromise my work day and would be whilst I'm asleep.

MandarinDentistTiger · 20/01/2025 14:32

Thanks for the advice, I will try earlier and see how I go. I'm not sure if last week was a bug or a reaction.
