Do the Renopho scales give the same result every time? (If I step on and off 5 times in a row)

So far they have with me - very consistent. They report stones and pounds with a decimal point, too (ie 11.10.2). I promise I’m not on commission! Just very pleased with my purchase.

EBoo80 · 16/01/2025 08:42

Yes my favourite thing about them is that they’ve made me 2lb lighter. 😆

That’s all the recommendation I need - ordered for delivery tomorrow. Looking forward to my rapid weight loss 🤣

sylv165 · 16/01/2025 09:54

And actually maybe the decimals will also help me. My current scales just measure to the lb so it doesn’t pick up very small weight loss, maybe even seeing a downward trajectory within the lb would motivate me!

SpottyBumPony · 16/01/2025 10:12

I have INSMART scales from Amazon. They also take all thr stats and seem very reliable.

The best thing is that the app gives a little ring sound when you've stood there long enough, so none of that leaning forwards so see if the number has settled and making it change because of your position

MandarinDentistTiger · 16/01/2025 10:33

I feel a little better today. Still not sure if it was a bug or reaction to MJ. I had awful wind, lots of stomach pains. I normally feel bloated a few days after injecting. It was like that all the way to 11.

I've added the Renpho scales to my Amazon basket.

CountingSleepySheep · 16/01/2025 12:14

EBoo80 · 16/01/2025 08:44

So they flash up the weight on the screen, but for all the more detailed measures inc fat% (and to convert it to stones and pounds) I had to download the free app. So you wouldn’t get the good of most of the tech without the app. It also only monitors multiple people by having each person download the app iyswim, which is a drawback too.

Thank you, I think I will be ordering them and yet another weight related app will be going on the phone! 😀

mimosa1 · 16/01/2025 12:41

Hi everyone,

I must say the Renpho scales are pretty tempting! I'm pleased to report that I've lost exactly 10kg in exactly 4months to the day. I don't feel like a slow loser particularly as the weight has been coming off but I've never gone above 2.5mg as I was so ill with side effects initially. I've built up my tolerance and if things stall I will go up a dose slowly but for now, I'm going to KOKO. I have a few kilos left to get to a "normal" BMI which hopefully will be just in time for a holiday in Feb with friends. I can't wait!

I am also curious about something a PP wrote (apologies I'm on my phone and can't check who it was) about something else going to to make the weight come off which is more than appetite suppression leading to lower calories. I feel as certain as I can be that I'm eating the same as during previous diets but the weight is coming off.

EBoo80 · 16/01/2025 13:52

I’ve seen some confusing messaging about this (and it wasn’t my comment) but some people talk about it acting on how body deals with insulin. I agree: I’ve made similar changes in the past and not seen such amazing results.

InfoSecInTheCity · 16/01/2025 14:30

@mimosa1 this one will be dependent on any underlying conditions you may have I think.

How does Mounjaro work?
This medication works by activating two receptors called GLP-1 and GIP to increase the level of incretins – hormones - in the body.
It works by helping your body to produce more insulin when needed. It also reduces the amount of glucose, or sugar, produced by the liver, and slows down how quickly food is digested. This all helps to lower blood sugar levels and HbA1cc*.
So if your body does not produce enough insulin, or produces too much glucose then Mounjaro will help with that. One of the reasons people who are diabetic/insulin resistant gain weight is because your body stores excess blood sugar as fat, so reducing that blood sugar can reduce fat storage.

EBoo80 · 16/01/2025 15:13

But isn’t it likely that many obese people have a degree of insulin resistance? Isn’t this where the ‘pre-diabetic’ categorisation is coming into use?
(I may be grasping at straws!)

Yes, may also explain in part why over time and as we get closer to healthy weight, weightloss slows down. Our bodies are starting to become more insulin effective and we are moving out of the pre-diabetic range.

I've read that it's like a vicious cycle gaining weight causes you to become less insulin sensitive which causes you to gain weight and moving you towards diabetes. Losing weight causes you to become more insulin sensitive but is harder work until that process actually starts working.

Was going to stock with 10mg again for next month, but supression has dropped off again for me. So emailed Oushk and they’ve upped it to 12.5mg for just an extra £5. I get the feeling I’m going to be going all the way up to 15mg, was hoping I could stay at a low dose all the way through.

sylv165 · 17/01/2025 08:37

My renpho scales have arrived! I’ve just set them up, stepped on them and they weighed me 3lbs heavier than my usual ones 😱. I was going to fire them out the window, but gave it another go and they went back to my usual weight. So we’ll write the first one off as a calibrating thing, and I’ll keep them for now 🤣

I feel oddly responsible for everyone’s purchases 😆Hope they settle down (and definitely don’t go in the ‘wrong’ direction)

sylv165 · 17/01/2025 09:56

Don’t worry @EBoo80, we won’t hold you responsible if we all end up with a 3lb gain. The insights are interesting….I really need to sort out my body fat percentage!!

mimosa1 · 17/01/2025 13:43

Thanks @InfoSecInTheCity and @EBoo80 - def good for thought.

I've started going to the leisure centre the near my house and I'm so impressed with how many much older people are fit and active - I've definitely had a hard time keeping up with some of them in the classes. Obviously it's a subset of motivated people, but I want an old age like that! I was at a BodyPump weights class today and the lady in front of me was easily in her 70s and using weights twice as heavy as I was (and I felt like I was dying!). Good reminder of why we're all doing this, vanity aside.

MandarinDentistTiger · 17/01/2025 14:19

My scales arrived too. I'm down 1lb. The details are really interesting and I like the precise reading.

I'm feeling a bit better. The number on the scale is not what I want. It's lower than it's been in 10 years.

Me too - I'm just not having any weight loss at all any more!

I only have about 15-18 pounds to go so was hoping I'd stabilise at say 10mg but am now thinking of ordering 12.5mg for my next pen.

MetabolismLost · 17/01/2025 17:50

It’s weird, isn’t it @85reasons I still have 2 stones to loose to reach my target (have lost 3 already) but the food noise is just no where near enough suppressed for me.
I know, going forward, that I’m going to be on this long term and will have to accept a maintenance plan.
Wallet not happy, but for my health and mental wellbeing it’s necessary.

StanleyCup · 17/01/2025 18:45

Weekly weigh in - Much better week this week, after a disastrous one last. Im currently on 5mg the suppression is okay once it kicks in but I’ve had a few cravings here and there. Might titrate up to 6 in a couple of weeks. Hoping to stay on a stead 2lbs per week from now to reach my UGW.

Yes ditto... I think so many of us go on the same journey when we start, thinking we'll stay on lower doses. I lost a stone on my first pen and thought - wow - I'll be done in no time! 😁I'm definitely thinking I'll be staying on it, but can see that it's not necessarily going to be a straightforward 'oh I'm just maintaining now' kind of thing. If I need to go to 15mg then so be it.

MetabolismLost · 18/01/2025 07:36

Yes @85reasons I thought I’d maybe go up to 5mg, but not even get to 7.5mg. Oh well!

MandarinDentistTiger · 18/01/2025 14:05

FFS. My data has been cleared from the scales and app. I think OH jumped on. I will restart tomorrow. I may weigh daily for a week to see what happens.

Feeling back to normal today, bloating, wind pains and feeling sick have abated. I'm worried about taking my next jab. That was a rough few days.

85reasons · 18/01/2025 14:27

I've finally dropped below to 169lb, having been stuck between 170-173lb for about 6 weeks.. hurrah!

Witchyandtwitchy · 18/01/2025 17:01

Weigh in today put me in the 13’s!!
meaning I’m over halfway there (just)
It’ll probably go up a bit tomorrow but for now I’m happy.
