Oh well done @InfoSecInTheCity! Let us know how you get on, I’m sure you will really enjoy it. I’m trying to pluck up the courage to do the same but so far am still being a big wimp!

I went swimming this morning which is something I actually really enjoy, but between the changing room and the pool, when I was shivering and worrying my parts would develop flash frostbite I decided I needed to expand my exercise options.

I have a leisure centre membership that includes gym and exercise classes but I don't actually know how any of the machines except the exercise bikes work. So when I got home I went on the website held my breath and just hit book on any classes I can actually get to around work and other stuff. Then I closed the website, and released my breath. Now I'm trying not to regret it!

@Bumblebeehum 😂

It's basically this but I just make the spices up now and chuck in an oxo to make it more beefy

OMG we had this tonight, it was amazing!!

I've just realised I no longer go "umph" when I get up out a chair!

SpottyBumPony · 07/01/2025 08:54

Week 19, I'm really pleased with the way I have handled Christmas. I continued to lose throughout December despite parties and seeing friends. I fluctuated up over Christmas but that's to be expected and a normal part of life to be accepted. The best thing is that I've been able to get my head straight and rein in the decisions to snack.

Well done everyone, and great that you’re feeling so positive about Xmas @SpottyBumPony!

Ive realised my calorie needs have dropped now I’m smaller, which is not ideal timing just as my January hibernation instincts kick in. Need to go and buy some nice teas etc so I can still have the ritual of ‘a treat’ without it being half a toblerone 😁. Anyone have other bright ideas along those lines?

I also stumbled across Fitbit exercise videos yesterday, and am proud that I did a short 20 min one while DH put kids to bed last night. Just did it in my clothes from the day and it was great, so that feels like a good reminder that exercise doesn’t need to be a big faff.

InfoSecInTheCity · 07/01/2025 09:53

@EBoo80

  • Options hot chocolate - 40 cals a cup
  • if you have a Tassimo machine the skinny lattes are 49 cals
  • nestle chocolate protein puddings in the yoghurt aisle are under 100 cals, Arla protein ones are a bit less but I prefer the nestle ones.
  • ember chilli rub biltong individual packets are 60 calories if you fancy a savoury snack
  • pickled onions barely have calories and give a long lasting flavour so feel like a good snack to satisfy the need, same with any other pickles.
  • I'm also partial to a small teaspoon of almond butter straight from the jar, very low carb and has that goopy, sticky texture that makes you feel like you're eating something more bad for you.
20bloodypounds · 07/01/2025 13:34

I bought a new swimming costume (old one is stretched out of shape and almost see-through in places) but it's so damn cold that i can't bear the thought of going to the pool and taking my clothes off in the changing room. I might have to put my cozzie on first thing in the morning and go to the pool early, then I only have to peel my layers off and quickly get into the warm water...

@SpottyBumPony I made a lovely roast spiced cauliflower (Rick Stein recipe), I'll take a photo of the book and post it.

I'd reduced down to 2.5mg over Christmas (managed to mantain on that dose which I was pleased about) and I'm now working my way back up: 40 clicks this week, probably 50 clicks next week.

20bloodypounds · 07/01/2025 13:48

Recipe - I made corriander chutney to go with it - fantastic.

This looks lovely . Reminds me I have a Jamie Oliver book with stuff like this I might try in

I've booked on to a body balance class this week, it is quite gentle and might try a swim after.

InfoSecInTheCity · 07/01/2025 20:09

Back from my first boxercise class and overall enjoyed it although feeling a little wobbly in the arms and legs at the moment which I think will progress to impressively sore by the morning. I will be spending some time enrobed in my heated blanket this evening to soothe my muscles.

Wasn't massively keen on the instructor though, he wasn't very good at explaining himself and he wore his shorts too low so we spent half the class trying not to look at his ass crack.

Capricornandproud · 07/01/2025 21:11

hello all, I seem to be yo-yoing between 11st 7lb, a pound either way. Need to be stricter this next week start seeing a downward shift - also a bit constipated, not drunk enough water and time of the month seems to see me stuck! I have an event on 10 Feb and really want to be at least 10-10 by then…

sylv165 · 07/01/2025 21:22

@InfoSecInTheCity well done, I was wondering how you got on! Glad you enjoyed it - no pain, no gain! Sorry about the unnecessary ass crack though, no one wants to see that 🤢

SpaceFairy8 · 08/01/2025 07:06

Really struggling to get back into the healthier eating pattern I'd gotten into before Christmas 🤦🏼‍♀️ not eating much and still lost then maintained in the 2 Christmas weeks , just not eating good!
Also very much need to get better at drinking enough again, Ive always struggled with that but combined with the lack of healthier eating I know it's not good for me!
Planning my meals out, have renewed nutracheck to log everything and I got a walking pad for Christmas and an audible membership so I'm actually really looking forward to using those together!
3 stone 6 down and 1 stone 9lbs to go!
I've 3 jabs left in the pen I'm using and a new pen in the fridge but I might be stopping then and trying to do the last bit by myself as I could do without the cost whilst I try and sort my finances!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 08/01/2025 08:33

@SpaceFairy8 - how are you finding the walking pad? I'm quite tempted by one.

Doggymummar · 08/01/2025 09:08

I'm struggling too. Gained another pound this week. Will be addressing this. Need to go up to 13.5 as 10 is nowhere near enough suppression. I. Starving all week

Itisallgoingtobeok · 08/01/2025 08:33

Honestly I love it!!
It's so easy, stored out of the way, doesn't matter about weather etc and I get really anxious about walking / jogging outside so it solves that too!

SpottyBumPony · 08/01/2025 09:52

@EBoo80 I bloody love a Toblerone

MandarinDentistTiger · 08/01/2025 10:28

Sulphur burps for the first time. Yuk. I had a lot of protein and vegetables for dinner.

NSV today. For the first time I can tell I have lost weight. I am wearing something I haven't for a while. I caught a glimpse of myself in the microwave and can tell my middle looks slimmer. I've lost 2.5 stones, this is week 16.

Scales haven't moved. I will not weigh myself until Saturday. Feeling positive and on track with eating. We have lots of healthy food in. Other good news is I am easily able to resist crisps, biscuits and chocolate still all over the place.

FlatStanley50 · 08/01/2025 11:25

I've gone up to 7.5mg and seem to have no suppression at all - weird as 5 I still had some, it just was only lasting a few days. I have been starving. And also not getting the usual side effects I get which are fatigue and being absolutely freezing for a day or two. Have I got a dodgy batch?!

MissBPotter · 08/01/2025 13:02

Ugh I’m struggling too, I think like @Doggymummar I have gained again, though I don’t really understand it as I’m definitely still in a calorie deficit. I haven’t been drinking enough water and I’ve got my electrolytes again. Was trying to hold off buying them as they seem really pricey but felt awful yesterday without them.

im stil on 2.5 and still thinking I might as well not bother anymore as im not losing weight and don’t see the point in paying for it anymore. I think I will lose more but im also fairly happy at this weight for now, bmi is around 25, and I think I look ok! Although ideally I’d lose a bit more.

Doggymummar · 08/01/2025 13:53

Yep it's really disheartening I thought I had finished with the 10mg pen but there looks to be two doses left, I'm wondering if I forgot a week, or didn't inject properly as I've been so hungry. I've just injected and immediately scoffed two bags of crisps, I don't know what my brain is doing. There is also an open bottle of Bailey's on the fireplace which is calling me. I haven't had food noise for weeks so this is weird.

Orangesandlemons77 · 08/01/2025 14:13

I'm also feeling that things have worn off a bit and I am on 10mg this week so it should be OK.

InfoSecInTheCity · 08/01/2025 15:54

I've been feeling more snackish the last few days but I'm not actually hungry, I just have a desire to snack and I think it's more about ingrained habits than suppression for me.

The weather is cold, Xmas is over and that January feeling is starting to hit. In my brain that means it's time for heaping big plates of shepherds pie and Toad in the Hole, for comfort puddings like sticky toffee or crumble and custard, for massive mugs of hot chocolate with cream.

Those were the things I used to drive myself through the day 'it's ok that your feet are freezing and you have to spend another hour on this boring conference call with Mr no personality and far too much confidence, because in a couple of hours you get to treat yourself to casserole with lavishly buttered fresh French bread and a heaping bowl of blackberry Cobbler so it will all be better then'.

So my brain is throwing out the desire for something foody, but if I can distract myself I realise that it wasn't because of hunger, my stomach isn't rumbling, my mouth isn't watering, I don't feel any physical signs of hunger, I just need to retrain my 'treat' mechanism.

Doggymummar · 08/01/2025 16:18

That's a good point @InfoSecInTheCity I work from home and have just poured myself a massive Bailey's about 300ml. I didn't drink much over Christmas as the thought made me feel sick so why am I doing it now. I also have another 90 mins to work still so I won't be drinking it but what is my brain thinking.

Orangesandlemons77 · 08/01/2025 16:38

It's interesting that we are all on quite different doses but started at the same time and now some of us are noticing it wearing off / less suppression. Wonder if it is Christmas or does the body tend to get used to it after a few months perhaps.

I mean with me I am getting less nausea and feeling of Ugh even thinking about food, but still not that hungry so it feels better in a way. But I'm wondering if I might as well have stayed on 5mg as it doesn't feel much different on 10mg and costs more.
