How's your appetite suppression @Methemummy? I'd go on that rather than weight loss. Could you reduce your calorie deficit further without too much pain? I've started to really overhaul my diet on 5 and cut some meals and focus on small portions that are mostly salad and veg with a little cheese or protein. The 5 makes it doable but I'm still hungry at times, but I think that's normal as I'm learning to listen to my body better. I also each more slowly and take breaks to see if that's enough food

Suppression is good, until about day 5. Eating 2 small meals a day most days, no snacking. I will ocassionally eat breakfast towards the end of the week. Cut out fizzy drinks and chocolate etc.

DarkForces · 14/12/2024 13:24

I think I'd move up to 7.5 if you're struggling by the end of the week

MamaorBruh · 14/12/2024 15:04

Ive just moved on to 5mg but did what was a 3.75mg instead.
I injected on Thurs evening then yesterday I had 3 glasses of wine and oh my goodness I feel shocking!
I was up with horrendous heartburn most of the night and today I feel terrible. Sicky/hangover type. But I can drink way more than that and did on 2.5mg with no effects really.
I think the higher dose has made me feel like that. I'm putting it down to the wine but if I feel like this after next week's jab then I'm going to stick to 2.5mg.
I do think it's probably the alcohol - I'm not planning to drink now until Christmas.

Total loss in 5.5 weeks is 1st 1lb. I have had a few days of eating rubbish/not calories counting and so probably could have lost more but clothes are looser and you can tell already which I'm pleased about.
Well done to everyone, keep going!

I made the new stone bracket!

Im now within 13lbs of goal, having lost 22lbs so far.

Im very petite (short!) so the figures don’t always correlate with an average sized human being.

I think the last 13 pounds will be a lot harder and slower, but every pound from here on will be noticeable on my 4’11 frame.

Think I’m going to stick with 3.75mg for the next few weeks, although I have noticed more hunger signs.

Is anyone in the group thinking of going up to 7.5?

I am, I’ve just taken my second 5mg and my next order is arriving early, they asked if I wanted more time to decide if I wanted to stay on 5 but I thought I may as well bite the bullet and go up to 7.5.

I’ve not had any major side effects and I’m losing steadily now so I’m happy to move on before the 5mg dose loses its potency.

Each to their own but I’m not interested in ‘bonus’ doses, counting clicks, or staying on a low dose for as long as possible, I’m just interested in taking the medication as prescribed and losing weight consistently.

My first dose of 7.5 will be the first Friday in January.

Congrats on your weight loss.

Hi, all! I've noticed something interesting since using MJ—I'm losing weight in different places than usual. My belly is slimming down first this time, which never happens! Anyone else experiencing something similar?

MsRumpole · 14/12/2024 16:27

OK, can someone tell me how I go about getting the extra dose out of the pen?

Whattodowithaminute · 14/12/2024 16:33

Hi all, thanks for new thread.
w6 for me, on 5mg, first couple of days post dose feel v rough but settled quicker this week.

SW 91.4
CW 83
GW 70

had a couple of NSV with people noticing weight loss, clothes getting too big, making healthier choices whilst out-managed soup rather than cheese and ham toasted sandwich, crisps and cake which is what I would have had previously.

starting to get harder this week as have DS1 off of school, DS2 finished Wednesday, DH birthday and dinner Friday, DS3 finished Friday, inevitable more snacks about and general food noise dealing with their demands, harder to get exercise in too. hopefully I can continue to make healthy swaps and changes

I think you are right, i was hoping to be one of those people who doesnt need to go up every month, as i still have at least 3 stone to loose and worry if i get to max does too quickly it will loose effect but the fact i still dont have full supression all week tells me its not the right dose.

I’ve got the 7.5mg pen ready to collect - will start it the week after Christmas. Will use the extra dose from my 5mg pen Christmas week - but on Boxing Day I think! I had very little side effects on 5mg until this week - not sure if it’s a cumulative thing. But I have about 5 stone to lose if I want to be a normal BMI (it’s 4.5 stone just to scrape to BMI 25!) so I have a long way to go.

Just fyi I've just used a code as an existing customer for 20% off at Medexpress 👏🏼 I've put it on the discount thread.

I can't find your code, can you send it to me?
Is is for new customer or anyone?

bananasplice · 14/12/2024 18:38

Hey everyone,
I don't think I posted last week but wanted to update you all.
8th Jab today and still making progress.
Started 26/10 93.6 kg
Week 7 14/12 83.2 kg

A loss of 10.4 kg in 7 weeks! which is just nuts. Just under 23lbs.

I have ordered my next pen and gone for the 7.5, I am starting to feel the effects reducing at the end of the week and if it wasn't Christmas then I may have considered the 5 again. But I really want to keep going and keep up the momentum and I have been lucky that I have not really had any side effects and will be on school holidays then even if I do get some.

I have read everyone's updates and it is so great to hear how you are doing, we must have lost so much weight between us .:)

The support really helps as I can't talk to anyone in rl about this.

I now have some very baggy jeans that I bought about 4 weeks ago. I think I will get the £7 primark jeans and just replace them when needed with the prospect of a whole new wardrobe keeping me going!

NoOneAtTheInn · 14/12/2024 19:43

Hi all

W5D1 for me and sadly almost no weight loss in either W3 or W4. Not ideal. 12lb lost overall, all in first two weeks apart from 1lb.
SW 172lb, CW 160lb.

On the positive side, I've maintained that and feel like period is due so will pin some hope on a whoosh but may be kidding myself.

I have not done full doses however as couldnt deal with the side effects.
W1 & 2 I did 2.5mg. w3 I did 1.25mg. W4 I did just under 2mg. Found that to be the best for me but think I had better do 2.5mg this week to see if that will get me back into losses.

Also need to order new pen. Am with Voy but don't use their advice service (which seems to be an AI bot anyway). Does anyone know if there's a list on these forums anywhere of which providers don't contact your doctor? Voy don't & that would be my preference.

BlueWalker · 14/12/2024 19:57

@NoOneAtTheInn I'm with Med Express and they always ask for permission with each order to contact my GP. I've ticked yes each time, but the fact they have the option means you could just say no, I reckon.

BeNavyScroller · 14/12/2024 11:09

Where have you got the syringes from BQB? I keep seeing talk of the magical extra dose and it seems like a waste if I don’t try!

Plus my next pen is due on the 25th so I presume it’ll be late and I’ll be short a dose otherwise!

I bought mine from an online pharmacy after reading a lot, I wanted same size needle as pen which I have just a bit longer….. hopefully be ok.

Week 2 of 5mg for me and I feel pretty rubbish. After no side effects at all on 2.5mg it’s hit me like a ton of bricks! I’ve had some sort of viral illness too which has probably made it much worse. I’m so fatigued and nauseous and hardly eating anything at all. I think I need to look into this counting clicks idea and reduce from 5mg. Or skip a week perhaps? Worse part is I’ve got a 7.5 pen waiting for next month! Followed medexpress advice and ordered early given Xmas post etc.

Noshowlomo · 14/12/2024 22:11

I’ve done 2 weeks on 5 and I don’t feel
it’s doing much at all! I think I’ll go up to 7.5 asap. I need to drink loads more water as well but I’ve stalled for 2 weeks now. Gutted !

random223 · 14/12/2024 22:24

W6D5. Weigh in due tomorrow and really annoyed I have managed to overeat this weekend. I suppose I should be pleased the MJ is making this rarer. Very worried about Christmas now though. I thought I might be able to just have a little bit of the nice stuff and not overeat but am staying with my inlaws for 6 days and will have no control of food and no possibility to eg have low calorie lunches to balance bigger dinners. I am really hoping not to destroy progress so far. Had planned to do another week at 3.75mg but wondering now if I ought to go up to 5mg sooner.

Oh really? I assumed this was an essential criteria . You have to give your consent but I think if you decline they won’t prescribe.. could be wrong though

@morbidcuriosity yes it is real. Hmm I used it earlier as well as my double price match. Got my 7.5 for £113.94 inc postage. I've posted it on a couple of the discount threads but there are numerous ones. Obviously you get stopped after a few posts. If you link to the specific discount thread you want me to post it on I will gladly. Smile

Feeling disheartened this week. I gained a lb. I was away for 3 night, and was eating much less than I used to, and I did have a few little bits of dessert, but again, so much less than normal. The heartburn went, which was great. Came home, gained 1lb, so little suppression now at the end of the week. It makes me feel miserable about what will happen when I come off it. Perimenopause feels like I have to never eat anything sweet ever again. Even though others manage it.

And today I have had chest pain (heartburn) for the last 7 hours. Probably because in my sulk I have been eating crap. And I have 2.5 pen again because I was worried about being sick for next few weeks of work stuff and Christmas.

morbidcuriosity · 15/12/2024 07:37

@qotsa hi. I was looking at the discount thread 2 on here.. but couldn't see any for existing customers, just say for 1st time people..

piscofrisco · 15/12/2024 08:05

Can anyone explain the counting clicks to me in terms fit for a simpleton because I just don't get it. I have been on 2.5 for four weeks with few side effects but decent suppression. My next pen is 5 and due today but I'm nervous about it and would like to go to 3.75 but I don't know how to do it out of a 5 pen!
I can't hear clicks when I inject so do I need to visually count them? And what then happens to the left over dose in the pen?

BleachedJumper · 15/12/2024 08:18

@piscofrisco when people talk about counting clicks, it’s as you dial the end of the pen from 0 to the 1, each notch of the pen clicks.

Try and move the end of the pen slowly.

when you prime the pen before injecting, it asks you to make two turns/clicks. People who are taking smaller doses are instead of dialling the pen all the way to 1 (which is 60 clicks) they are turning a set number of times.

on a 5mg pen, 30 clicks is 2.5mg dose, 45 clicks is 3.75mg dose.
