Thanks @Mounjaropen for the new 🎄Christmas🎄 thread 🌟

@lostinchaos well done on the loss! I don’t think it’s worth taking jeans in and I don’t think you can make them look okay unless they’re boyfriend style (in which case pull waist down and roll up hems, add belt if needed) My advise would be to either buy a pair of cheapo ones or charity shop until you get to where you want to be.

I’ve lost over a stone at week 11 - it’s made my clothes all quite loose, my complexion is less ‘rosy’ and my husband very horny (all that ‘I fancy you at any size’ seems a little hollow right now) am feeling a bit hungry but am able to ignore it.

Thanks to everyone on this thread, I find it massively helpful to read everyone’s journey, it’s very comforting to know you’re not alone.

I’ve found my libido has reduced on MJ which is bloody annoying as I’d only just got it back after going onto Testosterone Gel as part of my HRT. However, your DH might just want you to feel as good as you look. Mine is the same at the moment - I know he means well but i also know how you must be feeling right now,

Place marking -

Injection 8 today (i think) , no loss this week, 7lb so far since the beginning. I've not tracked anything and not followed a good eating plan, and I'm not consistent with my water, I don't think I've been eating enough and when I have Its been the shite food that I should be eating so I suppose I'm lucky that I've even lost and kept off 7 lb. Went up to 5mg WK6 felt terrible so went back down last week to 2.5 felt much better but zero loss, so did 3.75 today and need to get a firm plan like the rest of you guys who are seeing results. On the plus side I'm nearly a week into getting back to getting moving exercise wise so i will take that as an NSV.

It's too expensive for me to keep d*cking around with my eating habits.

Thanks @Mounjaropen for the new thread, its my daily check in.

Amelanchier · 13/12/2024 16:20

I am so so tired. Almost falling asleep at my desk. My first 5mg dose was Wednesday and I was so hungry yesterday and pretty hungry today too. So a bit grumpy

BleachedJumper · 13/12/2024 16:50

@Notadream that really resonated for me, when you said it’s too expensive to dick around with.

It’s really focused me, that I’m financially investing in myself so I owe it to practically and emotionally invest in this too.

What are your personal circumstances like? As far as how much can you control the food you have around you, I know for people who have children/husbands at home that want to have nice treats at home it must be additionally difficult.

You deserve to invest in yourself and have a healthy body, we’re all here to offer practical support.

So my MJ pen for January has arrived. I panicked about the number of new starters and my holiday, my provider messaged last orders for Xmas/New Year guaranteed delivery was 20 December so I buckled. I have gone for 2.5 for January (pen 3) and depending upon what happens I can always go to 5 in Feb or stick.

Take manageable bites of the situation and try not to become overwhelmed. Start by getting 2500 steps per day for a week as a minimum, then increase by 1000 pw until you are at 10k.

Food wise, keep prepared snacks in the fridge - cut up fruit, cut up veggies, boiled eggs, nuts, dates, etc Choose those over ‘shite’. Take a packed lunch to work. Meal plan so you don’t over buy and you have a plan for the week.

My go to ‘treat’ which I make is a popcorn rocky road:

You need:

Bar (and maybe another half bar depending on how much popcorn you have) of high content cocoa dark chocolate bar
Bag of microwave salted popcorn
Bag of mini marshmallows
bag of dried cherries or cranberries

Method:
Melt the chocolate in a large heatproof mixing bowl over a pan of boiling water until completely melted
Microwave the popcorn. Remove any unpopped kernels.
Mix everything together (it takes a while to get all of the popcorn coated in the chocolate.
Line a baking tray with grease proof paper
Spreaad the mixture over the paper making sure it is tightly packed into a rectangle.
Put in fridge to set
Cut into small bars about 7cm x 4cm then place into a lined Tupperware box. Keep in the fridge. Have one or two as a post meal treat instead of a cadburys bar etc.

Main thing is to be kind to yourself and to keep going. 7lbs is a great loss!

thank you for the new thread @Mounjaropen we are a busy lot aren’t we! it’s great to have the support of you all.

Felt hungry today and yesterday, went out for a Christmas meal on Wednesday which was fun and I ate very well but had a few drinks. I was working from home yesterday and fell into eating crackers, a baguette and breadsticks. I think I was still within a reasonable calorie limit, but it made me realise I’m still a complete carb monster and I can eat them for so many reasons that aren’t related to hunger.

Trying to reset today, make good choices of protein and veg and not the empty calories that make me feel sluggish.

One off day won’t kill you! good that you recognise your trigger foods though.

Just checking in, I’ve only just woke up from a night full of mad dreams. I kept looking for Anthony Gordon (Newcastle footballer) in a lavish country house party where multiple other guests kept dying and lots of children kept complaining about the noise. Good old mounjaro 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

That sounds quite the dream 😂

I’ve woken up exhausted and cold (I think I have a virus rather than blaming mj for this one).

Annoyed I’m back up 1lb - I know it fluctuates over the week but yesterday I ate less than 1000 calories and healthy food. It means that I’ve currently had no loss all week since Sunday’s jab. Anyway, onwards and hoping for a whoosh.

Hope you feel better soon 💐

Weighing in for the new thread and thanks for setting it up @Mounjaropen.
W5D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:18st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
TL: 1st 1lb
That's the first stone off 🥳 And I'm just a pound off my Christmas goal of 18st 7lbs which feels very achievable. And 18st 5lbs will see me down to merely obese, which is not sometimes ever thought I'd celebrate but will be a win.
After bonus dosing last week I'm moving up to the 5 pen today. I'm a bit apprehensive about symptoms, as I've got a couple of Christmas events this week, so I'm thinking I might do two 3.75s first to see me through Christmas.
Onwards and downwards.

Amazing! Well done you!

Hi All - just checking into the new thread. I don't post much as work is so bonkers but keep an eye on the thread as it helps to read about others at the same stage. I'm on week 7 (started end Oct) and on 5mg and plan to stay on it for another pen. No side effects to speak of, luckily, but weight loss is slow. I've lost 12lbs altogether and a chunk of that was in the first week. Still, my BP is now in the normal range so I feel like I've already achieved one of my goals.

I bought a festive sweater yesterday to wear at my work Xmas lunch next week and bought a size 14! I was a size 20-22 at the beginning of this year so am very happy. No way am I actually a 14 - it was clearly an oversized top but I'm not complaining 😁.

Looking forward to a weekend of wrapping presents. I think I've done all the gift buying now but will inevitably realise that there's stuff missing or feel like I've not got enough for someone so may need to pop out as well. Just one more week at work to get through before I can put my feet up for a couple of weeks. 🎄Xmas Smile

wowee! I’d be wearing the jumper inside out so everyone could see the label 😂

Just reposting this for reference:

End of Week 4. Jabbing again Sunday. Still on 2.5mg.

SW: 23st 11lb
CW: 22st 8.5lb
Total loss: 1 stone 2.5lb
GW: probably about 14.5 stone but we'll see

well done for that loss 🙌

Checking in - love the festive title!

W5D1.
Start weight: 12.6
Current weight: 11.10.4
Total loss: 9.6 lbs
Week 1: 4.4 lbs
Week 2: 2.7 lbs
Week 3: 1.1 lbs
Week 4: 1.4 lbs

Just taken my first bonus dose with insulin syringe - I got 0.6ml which is 2.5mg. Was hoping for a bit more but there were some air bubbles and by the time I was sure I’d got rid of them I was down to 0.6. Weight loss has slowed a bit but I’ve got my new 5mg pen in the fridge for next Friday and hopefully that will give me a bit of a whoosh.

👏👏

Hi everyone! Does anyone have any advice on how to make jeans look ok when they are too big? Obviously I'm delighted to have this as a problem, but as I'm still 1.5 stone off my goal, I really want to avoid buying anything new until I get there. Is it worth getting clothes altered?

Belt? Cut the length so that they sit above your ankle bone? (Flattering length)

mydogisacloud · 13/12/2024 17:26

@Della82 yeah, I only weigh once a week otherwise I will hyper focus on it and too much stress...

When you put it like that though, that is a good loss for the time frame of it all...

I don't do a whole lot on macros, but I am tracking my food on NutraCheck which I think has a macro thing on it?

@murraymcgill thankfully no hunger pangs here, which makes eating enough a problem, but think I need to focus more on what I am eating as well...

Mounjaropen · 13/12/2024 17:28

lostinchaos · 13/12/2024 13:30

I have to confess that I keep looking at myself in the mirror and checking the scales to make sure I really have lost some weight... but I do think it's starting to show. However, not one person has noticed yet... not even my husband! I suspect I am seeing myself through rose tinted glasses and think I look better than I do Grin

It might be that people have noticed but don’t know if it is the ‘done thing’ to comment? No one wants to end up in a disciplinary these days..sigh.

well done though! It might take us all a little while once we are at goal weight to stop feeling like the ‘large lady in the corner’…

Belts are your friend - will keep a size up jeans up and even at a push two sizes up.
And Vinted.
Well done and good luck!

I’ve been looking at clips for the waist band of jeans/trousers - there’s loads of different styles on Amazon. I haven’t used them myself but they’re not too expensive so might give them a go to get longer out of my jeans (they’re my favourite and I don’t want to give them up just yet, even though they’re almost falling down whenever I wear them)

WellyBootsandPuddleSuits · 13/12/2024 18:30

5mg has not been wonderful to me so far this week - suppression has been strong, to the point where I’m struggling to finish even small meals, but the nausea… today it seems to have subsided but days 3&4 were not much fun. Am hoping the second jab on Monday won’t be as bad
