Nice surprise at weigh in today and I've lost 3lbs this week. I barely eat so my losses should be higher I feel as I have a lot to lose to even hit the overweight bmi. Would be nice to go into the new year at less than 100kg but we will see.
No goal or target weight. I just want to be able to buy clothes in a shop again.

3lbs is such a win in a week 🥳

Hi All - just checking into the new thread. I don't post much as work is so bonkers but keep an eye on the thread as it helps to read about others at the same stage. I'm on week 7 (started end Oct) and on 5mg and plan to stay on it for another pen. No side effects to speak of, luckily, but weight loss is slow. I've lost 12lbs altogether and a chunk of that was in the first week. Still, my BP is now in the normal range so I feel like I've already achieved one of my goals.

I bought a festive sweater yesterday to wear at my work Xmas lunch next week and bought a size 14! I was a size 20-22 at the beginning of this year so am very happy. No way am I actually a 14 - it was clearly an oversized top but I'm not complaining 😁.

Looking forward to a weekend of wrapping presents. I think I've done all the gift buying now but will inevitably realise that there's stuff missing or feel like I've not got enough for someone so may need to pop out as well. Just one more week at work to get through before I can put my feet up for a couple of weeks. 🎄Xmas Smile

Fantastic achievement with the Xmas sweater! Hooray.

Thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen 😍

Checking in on the new thread.

Foolishly I braved some fish and chips last night (will this woman never learn?). Only a small portion - left most of my chips (though admittedly I did enjoy a few with Tiptree mayo which is DIVINE). Thought I’d gotten away with it. Alas. Quite a few trips to the loo this morning. Meeting a friend for afternoon tea this afternoon too (she doesn’t know I’m on MJ). Hoping skipping any type of food until then will sort me out 😳

Sorry to hear of your tummy troubles… maybe keep a food diary about what irritates your digestive tract? Mine is mushrooms…

@Mounjaropen I got my my January pen already just in case. I doubt there will be a supply issue but it is more the processing time for approval that will slow down.

TeenLifeMum · 14/12/2024 10:14

Whoop 🙌 mini celebrations! I’ve lost the 1lb I lost and put back on earlier in the week, plus an extra one off so that’s 2lb off. My week 1 and 2 losses were big so I think this feels like more realistic and sustainable weight loss going forward. (TMI - today began with a very satisfying poop 😂🙈.)

I’ve also seen a job I want to go for. Competition will be high and I’m not sure I have the energy but I’d really love to do the job so I’ll give it a go.

I’m loving this thread - you guys are such a bunch of amazing and supportive women.

Morning Everyone, I just went up from 3.75 to 5mg after no side effects but v minimal suppression last week on 3.75. Got two long haul flights ahead of me today and tomorrow so hope it wasn’t reckless.

Not taking my pen due to logistics so interested to see how the final 2 weeks of my holiday are. I have almost convinced myself it has been nearly all will power for the last 2-3 weeks so we shall see. I was really looking forward to a Christmas free of feeling out of control, but the thought of my impressionable teens or nosy older relatives finding out won in the end.

Where we are going is not particularly vegan friendly which might help or hinder as I could end up just smashing loads of chips and bread in desperation. Taking protein powder with me which will hopefully help.

BleachedJumper · 14/12/2024 10:44

I made the new stone bracket!

Im now within 13lbs of goal, having lost 22lbs so far.

Im very petite (short!) so the figures don’t always correlate with an average sized human being.

I think the last 13 pounds will be a lot harder and slower, but every pound from here on will be noticeable on my 4’11 frame.

Think I’m going to stick with 3.75mg for the next few weeks, although I have noticed more hunger signs.

Is anyone in the group thinking of going up to 7.5?

jaromoun · 14/12/2024 10:45

@Mounjaropen i'm hoping it does get better and maybe just feels worse because i have the lurgy.
i'm seeing family this weekend i haven't see for months so be interesting if anyone notices i've lost weight.
down to 81.1kg so another 6kg to lose for me to be at the top end of where i will be happy. aiming for 71kg as a very happy result and allows wiggle room.
i do suspect i will need a long time on the meds to maintain though. the week i missed i could feel my appetite coming back noticeably and had to really think hard about not reacting to the hunger in the old ways.

22lbs is amazing!!! Especially on your frame you must be transformed ☺️.
I reordered 5mg for my third pen because I’ve had such horrendous side effects on the 5, but now I’m slightly regretting it. I’ll see how this month goes, but very well might go for 7.5 next time.

BleachedJumper · 14/12/2024 11:02

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with side effects @demjay, I don’t blame you for choosing not to jump a dose in that scenario.

Did you get side effects on 2.5? Have you been tempted to count the clicks to go back to 2.5 or. 3.75 dose?

A pp spoke about their doctor only suggesting an increased dose when you hit a plateau and it’s no longer ‘working’ and I can understand that.

Coffeeandcinnamonbun · 14/12/2024 11:09

Mounjaropen · 14/12/2024 09:44

That’s a great loss in that amount of time 🎉

Thank you. It is really and I need to keep that in perspective and look at the loss over time rather than each week. I’m over a stone down from my highest weight as I managed to lose 7lb when I realised how much I had put on (after a year of WFH) but then I danced around 12 10 for a year before starting MJ. I’m over the moon that I’ve been eating just 1000-1200 calories per day for 21 days and it hasn’t felt like torture. Here’s to many more days!

BeNavyScroller · 14/12/2024 11:09

BagQueenBee · 13/12/2024 21:13

3rd weigh in today…3lb loss so that’s 12 1/2lb total in 3 weeks, so very happy with that.

Ordered next pen earlier due to Christmas…. Was unsure on dose, decided to go up to 5mg, which will be done 27th December, hopefully will be ok.

I have decided to do 5th dose, so have bought syringes, not easy decision but cost is big factor so that’s why I’m doing it.

Love having this group for support and other stories and experiences.

Where have you got the syringes from BQB? I keep seeing talk of the magical extra dose and it seems like a waste if I don’t try!

Plus my next pen is due on the 25th so I presume it’ll be late and I’ll be short a dose otherwise!

I didn’t get any on the 2.5 but I have to confess I was v v v stupid and titrated to the 5 a bit early 😬😬😬.

A word of warning if anyone is reading this the guidelines are there for a reason!!

Side effects were absolutely horrendous and honestly unmanageable at first on 5 , but over time they have calmed down and the last week they have been much reduced/ tolerable- just some gas/ bloating , and mild eggy burps 🙈. So I’m continuing with the 5 for now and we’ll see how it goes this month.

It totally makes sense not to titrate until you hit a plateau. My losses have definitely slowed significantly, but I’m still losing so..

SW 16st 4lbs
CW 15st 5lbs
GW 10st (ish)

I've just taken my first 5mg dose so fingers are very much crossed regarding side effects. After the first week's whoosh I have averaged around a 2lb loss each week. This week it's been 3lbs, but although I log my weight once a week I can't resist checking it more regularly so I am aware that 3lb loss this morning may fluctuate back up by tomorrow. 2lbs a week average seems sensible, healthy, and sustainable. At least I am telling myself that although the part of me that wants instant gratification (hence the podge in the first place!) wants amazing weight loss results NOW!, damn it! I am doing my best to shut that voice up.

BleachedJumper · 14/12/2024 11:24

I think on a weight loss journey, it’s really easy to become addicted to the losses, and the high you feel when you get a big loss early on.

The 1/2lbs losses don’t give the same high and it’s really hard to mentally adjust to not feeling frustrated with it, when you just want to be at your goal already!

Amelanchier · 14/12/2024 11:37

I cannot remember who recommended the me360 app (free) but thank you!. I am not convinced it has my shape right but the estimated physical measurements were spot on and I think it will be a good way to track non scale losses without the subjectivity of my tape measuring. It estimated my fat percentage as 42.3% whereas my scales say 55.5% so whatever it is, as long as I see it going down that's fine.

Cantbesure · 14/12/2024 12:14

@AlwaysTimeForWine those figures are very similar to mine although I've lost a lb less. I've also had a slight gain this week. I'm going to do the same re staying on 2.5 for Xmas. My jab day is Xmas Eve and I don't want to change my dose then and potentially be struggling with side effects on Xmas day.

@BleachedJumper as a similar shortie can I ask where you are putting your target? Well done on going into the next stone bracket.

Selkie9 · 14/12/2024 12:20

Mounjaropen · 14/12/2024 09:43

I think I am too. I can’t face 7.5mg on the Monday before either Xmas or NYE…

Oh gosh yeah I will start my new pen on the 30th and there's no way I could survive 7.5mg!

I think it’s just the sheer grease / fat - I’ve had fish, potatoes and peas since being on MJ and all been fine but when I’ve had them deep fried it’s been an issue! Lesson learned.

PinkArt · 14/12/2024 12:35

Goldleafcat · 14/12/2024 09:46

I’ve had quite a few distrusting death related dreams too! I’ve always had slightly bonkers dreams but this macabre new angle I can only assume is MJ related is a little weird.

Dreamt I helped someone murder somebody and had to keep hiding the body / evidence. Woke up in a panic and it took a while to realise it was all nonsense. Never so glad to see 6am 😄

My dreams are usually pretty epic so I'm interested in dream interpretation. Death doesn't mean anything bad. It's to do with a chapter closing, or transition, which makes so much sense as a dream at the start of a 'weight loss journey'. So the murder cover up might be something to do with processing your feelings around not telling people you're on the jabs for eg, if you aren't.
My MJ dreams have all been waking up thinking someone is in my room, which aren't terrifying at all.

Eek that would be horrifying! Hope you come to quickly when it happens.

Interesting about the dream interpretation, I think you may be right.

Hi all, been a little absent for a few weeks. But just caught up, its great to see everyones progress.

I am on week 6 day 2. I've been a slow looser, so down 10lbs so far. I am going to order my next does this weekend but struggling to decide if to stay on 5mg or go up to 7.5mg.

I've had no side effect this far, i started with a bmi of 38 so was expect ( hoping) for a little more weight loss so far. This all leads me to thinking i should go up?

Would welcome any thoughts.

DarkForces · 14/12/2024 13:17

How's your appetite suppression @Methemummy? I'd go on that rather than weight loss. Could you reduce your calorie deficit further without too much pain? I've started to really overhaul my diet on 5 and cut some meals and focus on small portions that are mostly salad and veg with a little cheese or protein. The 5 makes it doable but I'm still hungry at times, but I think that's normal as I'm learning to listen to my body better. I also each more slowly and take breaks to see if that's enough food
