How was the process of getting the price match ? Am I right in saying they're not doing the double now ?

They have stopped the double price match I think. I just emailed them with my order number and a screenshot from another online pharmacy . They then put the credit on my account for the next pen.

I am still on 2.5 pen and not ordering third pen for another week or so but I am planning on getting 2.5 if things stay the way they currently are. I have lost in the past couple of days after Christmas so I am still losing. I am getting reasonable suppression but I am also aware that I am making conscious decisions about food choices.
I am on this for a good year, maybe longer , and I am using this time to retrain my brain. My mindset has always been to stay on 2.5 for as long as possible.

Also, because of the constipation I have suffered, it worries me going stronger when I am losing on 2.5.

Thanks for the reply, that’s reassuring for me. I don’t really want to lose the weight all that quickly as I think the quicker it comes off the harder it will be to maintain when I come off the medication.

phyllidafosset · 30/12/2024 22:13

Arrgghhhh!!! I have just polished off 15 cornflake clusters 🤦‍♀️ Suppression is now officially nonexistent! Moving up to 5 for my next pen. It does make me realise how hard maintenance will be. I have been eating a lot of sugar. I will have to try really hard to make some very significant long term changes. I did know that, but I feel like it may have to be no sugar at all. Hope everyone else is doing better than I am 🤦‍♀️

Christmas properly wrecks everything, I find. You'll be back on track soon enough!

Have any of you experienced an insanely itchy injection site? If so, did you find anything that helped? Pharmacies are closed till 2nd where I am - bad timing. I had it a little with my the last dose but this time it’s so bad it’s keeping me awake and is a proper raised welt like I get with an allergic reaction to insect bites. anyway, if there’s anything a typical household would have that might help, please let me know!

I haven't had this experience but I have long experience of itchy skin issues.
In a strange house I would first look for-
Any bite or sting cream
Hydrocortisone cream
Any local anaesthetic cream like germoline
Any antihistamine/hayfever tablets

Hope it settles down soon, if all else fails anything cooling should make it feel better

MsRumpole · 31/12/2024 01:18

Some shots definitely go better than others. I injected just now with a sore thumb (sliced it on the mandolin) and could not keep the pen straight - most of it went in but there was quite a big drop on the surface of my skin. I also bled so am looking forward to a massive bruise! Having said that it did also prime enthusiastically so it could be that. I don't find the injection very easy to depress, I must say, it seems to take ages and the pen is a bit unwieldy.

I think I am exactly the same on the hormone front. Overweight as a child despite eating the same and being as active as my siblings, Lipodema on my legs which will not shift, Graves disease (Hyperthyroid, allthough I don't lose any weight when i have a flare up) and Adenemyosis. I'm all round wonky on the Hormone front which is why I'm convinced MJ isn't working for me results wise. I'm sticking with it for the rest of my pen though as having no food noise is worth it for me at least.

@Mounjaropen My doctors will not prescribe testosterone to compliment the HRT which is annoying.

I know Testosterone prescription is controversial- could you ask them for a blood test to check your levels at the very least? The policy where I live is that you need a referral to the gynaecology department first then they take it from there. If your levels are low, you ask for it specifically and you agree to sign off on understanding the risks then they will prescribe it for ‘low libido’ - if you ask for it because of mental acuity they won’t prescribe it 🙄

I stayed at Pikes in 2023 for the weekend of their closing party it was such a great weekend, and I doubt anyone actually gave two hoots about what I looked like, but I was super anxious and ashamed, I never was seen without a cover up by the pool 😊

I last went to Pikes in the mid-late 1990’s. Kylie Minogue had stayed there the week before I was there. Tony Pike was a marvellous host and made me cocktails - just like on the Wham club Tropicana video.

I now feel very old indeed 😂

I remembered to update my TDEE with new weight today and it’s dropped by approx 100 calories, made me think that for those who are calorie counting it might be helpful to reevaluate so you know what current targets are to achieve a loss.
I’m dreading the next few days, have legitimately dodged drinking with friends since started MJ as designated driver, however we are hosting tomorrow night so will be more tricky, 8 years ago I got through a NYE on half a glass as didn’t want to share my early pregnancy with DS3 so 🤞will manage again..
then we are off for a weekend away, 3meals a day out and not in a country known for its light salads! Will do what I can…

Great point to make about the TDEE.

Have a fab mini break!

I have lost just over 10kg. I have 5kg to go. I did 4 weeks on 2.5 and then moved to 5. I did one week on 5 and was very unwell and since then have only been able to tolerate 3.75. With 3.75 I have 3 days of feeling rubbish then 4 days feeling great. I can’t do full suppression so I’m happy with it taking the edge off things and thinking long term it will help me adjust once I stop fully.

10kgs is amazing! Well done you!

I think it’s Christmas and we are all programmed to want to eat all of the Christmassy foods. Next week will be different as we’ll have cleared out the cupboards of temptation. Keep going!

You poor thing! I use an oven glove if I need to use a mandolin - I’m terrified of them 😂 hope your thumb is better soon!

@Clarabell77 @lovealongbath i am starting my third 2.5mg pen when I get home today. I have lost 2 stone so far on 2.5 and I did not gain over Christmas. I will see how next two weeks go before deciding on a fourth 2.5 pen or to move up to 5mg for February. If I continue to lose I will stick otherwise I will twist

I took part of a finger off with a mandolin 12 years ago and am still anxious whenever I use it!

Goldleafcat · 31/12/2024 08:08

Like Elvis, my suppression has left the building.

Will do my 7.5mg jab tomorrow evening I think.

One good thing is that have managed to lose most of the weight I put on last week, and have just started my period too. It may be hormones making me want to eat everything!

Oh my giddy aunt! Sound drums and trumpets.... 3.2lb lost between Boxing Day and this morning. 12 stone 10.4 lb. My new smart scales have brought joy this morning. 3 steps closer to that bikini on the beach 🧡

Yes, red and itchy. Apparently quite normal, but there are things you can do.

The pharmacist said ordering the 6mm needles rather than the default 4mm was likely to help.

1% hydrocortisone cream

Take the pen out of the fridge to let it come to room temperature rather than injecting cold also made a difference

Oceangreyscale · 31/12/2024 08:50

Curious to know, is there evidence with weight loss that losing slowly makes maintenance then more likely and that losing fast means putting it back on fast is more likely?

As in actual studies not anecdotes.

I feel it's likely but haven't looked into the data.

DarkForces · 31/12/2024 09:18

@Oceangreyscale im sure I remember reading that this is correct. I'm assuming my weight loss will slow as the calories I need to get me through a day drops. It's gone down 20 calories a day just by losing 3lb. It's going to be a long road as I really want to get into the 8s

How fabulous! W9D2 here and I’m far too frightened to get on the scales. Spent most of yesterday drinking Rose wine and playing with my neighbour’s new litter of puppies. Was absolute heaven. Lord knows how I managed to jab myself safely when walking in a straight line was an effort 😂

I’m now wondering if I’d have lost more or less if i’d stuck at 5mg. It’ll be one of life’s mysteries I guess!

Omg. Rose wine and puppies is worth any gain. I was dreading it tbh as we've eaten out every day over Xmas and been away in a holiday park between Xmas and new year so not exactly abstemious but I was careful. I guess there'll be a few bumps along the way! Hope you get good news
