Week 2 of 5mg for me and I feel pretty rubbish. After no side effects at all on 2.5mg it’s hit me like a ton of bricks! I’ve had some sort of viral illness too which has probably made it much worse. I’m so fatigued and nauseous and hardly eating anything at all. I think I need to look into this counting clicks idea and reduce from 5mg. Or skip a week perhaps? Worse part is I’ve got a 7.5 pen waiting for next month! Followed medexpress advice and ordered early given Xmas post etc.

I was like that in the 2nd 5mg. I've been fine this week (injected Fri) so it was a one off for me. I did try and eat a bit less this Friday as I wondered if I'd eaten too much.

@qotsa hi. I was looking at the discount thread 2 on here.. but couldn't see any for existing customers, just say for 1st time people..

@morbidcuriosity I've PM'd you. I won't necessarily use the dose I've ordered but at that price figured I could choose when I get to it. I'm still only on week 4 of 2.5 as I was ill and didn't start for four weeks. Also, I only ordered at about 5pm last night and when I looked at about 7 it was already authorised and is now awaiting dispatch 👌🏽

November starters thread 4 - the one where we navigate 🎄and stick or twist on 5mg for the New year
qotsa · 15/12/2024 08:46

That price is with the £22 price match credit I had sat there too.

A tad disappointing I’ve put on a pound this week - had a heavy night out with a 3 course meal + lots of alcohol on Thursday so knew I might not lose but I’m disappointed to have a gain several days later when I’m low calorie every single day…. never mind hopefully next week will see better results. I’ve got 1 more dose of 5 then I’m up to 7.5

Pumpkinforever · 15/12/2024 09:02

It’s going to be a tricky couple of weeks for most of us coming up. I will focus on damage limitation as I don’t want to put on my usual 4 to 7 lbs after the festive period.

It’s going to be tough. The only person who knows I am on MJ other than the pharmacy and GP is DH. My mother is going to be a nightmare as she is a ‘feeder’.

Same. I had no real side effects and went up to 5mg on Wednesday. I threw up next morning, couldn’t complete my PT work out and was floored. The suppression was almost scary and food has all been revolting.

I feel better today on day 4 and like I can contemplate eating, but did keep sipping water in bed last night, and forced myself to eat a digestive at 3am when I got up with my sick dog. So I think the nausea is due to not eating or drinking enough, but it is hard when I feel queasy over every mouthful.

I’m nervous about feeling like this again next week as we have a trip to London with friends, and I want to be able to eat something or I will look weird. But equally, it might be settling down so I might be ok by next week, same as I was on 2.5.

Cantbesure · 15/12/2024 09:33

@qotsa can you DM me or link to the discount thread you have posted on please?

W5D3 and my BMI is now 30! One more pound to be in the overweight category. I took the bonus dose of 2.5mg on Friday and woke up at 4am on Saturday thinking I was going to be sick. I think the culprit was two glasses of cava spiked with a tiny bit of honey rum for a more Christmassy flavour. Note to self: don’t drink on jab day! I felt dodgy all of yesterday as well, not helped by going out for lunch with PIL. I had a gin and tonic and FIL ordered me a second one when I’d hardly touched the first, but I stuck to fish as the lightest menu option and no pudding. That’s all I ate yesterday - just felt bloated all day. Still, I dropped 4 ounces after the scales being stuck for 6 days, so I will take that!

Whoop 🙌 mini celebrations! I’ve lost the 1lb I lost and put back on earlier in the week, plus an extra one off so that’s 2lb off. My week 1 and 2 losses were big so I think this feels like more realistic and sustainable weight loss going forward. (TMI - today began with a very satisfying poop 😂🙈.)

I’ve also seen a job I want to go for. Competition will be high and I’m not sure I have the energy but I’d really love to do the job so I’ll give it a go.

I’m loving this thread - you guys are such a bunch of amazing and supportive women.

I think added confidence will be an ongoing change for all of us as we change our perception of ourselves. I’m a new empty nester and MJ alongside carving out time is my investment in myself after years of forking out for piano, violin, horse riding, extra maths lessons and school fees. Go for the job, someone has to get it, why shouldn’t it be you? 💪🏻

Morning Everyone, I just went up from 3.75 to 5mg after no side effects but v minimal suppression last week on 3.75. Got two long haul flights ahead of me today and tomorrow so hope it wasn’t reckless.

Not taking my pen due to logistics so interested to see how the final 2 weeks of my holiday are. I have almost convinced myself it has been nearly all will power for the last 2-3 weeks so we shall see. I was really looking forward to a Christmas free of feeling out of control, but the thought of my impressionable teens or nosy older relatives finding out won in the end.

Where we are going is not particularly vegan friendly which might help or hinder as I could end up just smashing loads of chips and bread in desperation. Taking protein powder with me which will hopefully help.

Have a fab holiday!

@Mounjaropen i'm hoping it does get better and maybe just feels worse because i have the lurgy.
i'm seeing family this weekend i haven't see for months so be interesting if anyone notices i've lost weight.
down to 81.1kg so another 6kg to lose for me to be at the top end of where i will be happy. aiming for 71kg as a very happy result and allows wiggle room.
i do suspect i will need a long time on the meds to maintain though. the week i missed i could feel my appetite coming back noticeably and had to really think hard about not reacting to the hunger in the old ways.

Did they notice? Don’t forget people nowadays aren’t sure if it’s the done thing to comment on another person’s weight so don’t be disheartened if they don’t. You can bet they’re thinking it though!

Morning everyone. So I opted to take wk7 as 3.75mg. Wk 5 5mg floored me. Wk 6 at 2.5mg was not as effective by the end of the week so I definitely need to increase my dose. I’m feeling abit sick and headachey after the dose and just had a peppermint tea. Hoping it settles down this week.

I definitely think Christmas party month is absolutely kicking my ass. So much parties, alcohol and eating and while I’m trying to eat less and drink less I’m inevitably eating the foods I should be avoiding. December is not for the faint hearted on this !!!

I made the new stone bracket!

Im now within 13lbs of goal, having lost 22lbs so far.

Im very petite (short!) so the figures don’t always correlate with an average sized human being.

I think the last 13 pounds will be a lot harder and slower, but every pound from here on will be noticeable on my 4’11 frame.

Think I’m going to stick with 3.75mg for the next few weeks, although I have noticed more hunger signs.

Is anyone in the group thinking of going up to 7.5?

🥳 I think I’m sticking to 5mg for the next one. Suppression is good but I’m worried about added constipation with a bigger dose..

I've just taken my first 5mg dose so fingers are very much crossed regarding side effects. After the first week's whoosh I have averaged around a 2lb loss each week. This week it's been 3lbs, but although I log my weight once a week I can't resist checking it more regularly so I am aware that 3lb loss this morning may fluctuate back up by tomorrow. 2lbs a week average seems sensible, healthy, and sustainable. At least I am telling myself that although the part of me that wants instant gratification (hence the podge in the first place!) wants amazing weight loss results NOW!, damn it! I am doing my best to shut that voice up.

I’d take a 3lb loss in a week! Well done you!

Hi all, been a little absent for a few weeks. But just caught up, its great to see everyones progress.

I am on week 6 day 2. I've been a slow looser, so down 10lbs so far. I am going to order my next does this weekend but struggling to decide if to stay on 5mg or go up to 7.5mg.

I've had no side effect this far, i started with a bmi of 38 so was expect ( hoping) for a little more weight loss so far. This all leads me to thinking i should go up?

Would welcome any thoughts.

10lbs is a great achievement in 6 weeks though. Focus on that. If your suppression is reducing that might be an indication that you need to go up.

Ive just moved on to 5mg but did what was a 3.75mg instead.
I injected on Thurs evening then yesterday I had 3 glasses of wine and oh my goodness I feel shocking!
I was up with horrendous heartburn most of the night and today I feel terrible. Sicky/hangover type. But I can drink way more than that and did on 2.5mg with no effects really.
I think the higher dose has made me feel like that. I'm putting it down to the wine but if I feel like this after next week's jab then I'm going to stick to 2.5mg.
I do think it's probably the alcohol - I'm not planning to drink now until Christmas.

Total loss in 5.5 weeks is 1st 1lb. I have had a few days of eating rubbish/not calories counting and so probably could have lost more but clothes are looser and you can tell already which I'm pleased about.
Well done to everyone, keep going!

Over a stone in just over 5 weeks is awesome! 🙌

Hi, all! I've noticed something interesting since using MJ—I'm losing weight in different places than usual. My belly is slimming down first this time, which never happens! Anyone else experiencing something similar?

Edited

yes, I have but I think mine was a wine belly also 😂

Hi all, thanks for new thread.
w6 for me, on 5mg, first couple of days post dose feel v rough but settled quicker this week.

SW 91.4
CW 83
GW 70

had a couple of NSV with people noticing weight loss, clothes getting too big, making healthier choices whilst out-managed soup rather than cheese and ham toasted sandwich, crisps and cake which is what I would have had previously.

starting to get harder this week as have DS1 off of school, DS2 finished Wednesday, DH birthday and dinner Friday, DS3 finished Friday, inevitable more snacks about and general food noise dealing with their demands, harder to get exercise in too. hopefully I can continue to make healthy swaps and changes

One thing I regret is putting absolutely everyone else’s needs above my own. Carve out the time for exercise not only do you deserve it, but it’s great role modelling for the kids. Or choose an activity they can join you in, a long walk is as good as an exercise video or an hour ice skating maybe?

Hey everyone,
I don't think I posted last week but wanted to update you all.
8th Jab today and still making progress.
Started 26/10 93.6 kg
Week 7 14/12 83.2 kg

A loss of 10.4 kg in 7 weeks! which is just nuts. Just under 23lbs.

I have ordered my next pen and gone for the 7.5, I am starting to feel the effects reducing at the end of the week and if it wasn't Christmas then I may have considered the 5 again. But I really want to keep going and keep up the momentum and I have been lucky that I have not really had any side effects and will be on school holidays then even if I do get some.

I have read everyone's updates and it is so great to hear how you are doing, we must have lost so much weight between us .:)

The support really helps as I can't talk to anyone in rl about this.

I now have some very baggy jeans that I bought about 4 weeks ago. I think I will get the £7 primark jeans and just replace them when needed with the prospect of a whole new wardrobe keeping me going!

That is absolutely outstanding! You must feel rightly amazing!

Thanks, i've ordered the 7 5mg. New achievement reached today. I got into what were previously a snug pair of size 16 jeans today with ease and hubby noticed my shape was changing, so that gives me a little boost to keep going.

Hi all

W5D1 for me and sadly almost no weight loss in either W3 or W4. Not ideal. 12lb lost overall, all in first two weeks apart from 1lb.
SW 172lb, CW 160lb.

On the positive side, I've maintained that and feel like period is due so will pin some hope on a whoosh but may be kidding myself.

I have not done full doses however as couldnt deal with the side effects.
W1 & 2 I did 2.5mg. w3 I did 1.25mg. W4 I did just under 2mg. Found that to be the best for me but think I had better do 2.5mg this week to see if that will get me back into losses.

Also need to order new pen. Am with Voy but don't use their advice service (which seems to be an AI bot anyway). Does anyone know if there's a list on these forums anywhere of which providers don't contact your doctor? Voy don't & that would be my preference.

12lbs without going above 2.5mg is brilliant. I don’t think doctors judge you for taking MJ but it is essential that they know when prescribing other meds IMO. Personal choice though.

You can always stick on 5mg on the 7.5mg pen by dialling a 3/4 dose so 45 clicks?

So end of week 7 and I’ve lost another 3lbs. So total in 7 weeks is 23 lbs 🙌🏻. I feel like I’ve been lucky so far in that my losses have been fairly consistent/ steady. No huge amounts at the beginning, but week 7 and I’m still consistently losing 2-3lbs per week. Long may it continue 💪🏻.

One thing is I started my period on Friday and it has been noticeably very light compared to normal ? 🤔 I hope this isn’t the MJ messing with my cycle..

Mounjaropen · 15/12/2024 10:26

phyllidafosset · 15/12/2024 00:11

Feeling disheartened this week. I gained a lb. I was away for 3 night, and was eating much less than I used to, and I did have a few little bits of dessert, but again, so much less than normal. The heartburn went, which was great. Came home, gained 1lb, so little suppression now at the end of the week. It makes me feel miserable about what will happen when I come off it. Perimenopause feels like I have to never eat anything sweet ever again. Even though others manage it.

And today I have had chest pain (heartburn) for the last 7 hours. Probably because in my sulk I have been eating crap. And I have 2.5 pen again because I was worried about being sick for next few weeks of work stuff and Christmas.

Keep going. Everyone is different. I gained weight during the menopause but had very few debilitating symptoms like sweats which I was grateful for.
