Has anyone used shemed for mounjaro? It seems a good price but you are locked in for 12 months if approved.
Thanks

@dcbgr I'm with Asda yeah ur right I was 180 for mine this month 5mg I don't work so I'm struggling with it but I'm loosing well amd need to do this for a spine operation

That is expensive but some like the convenience of being able to collect from a pharmacy.

murraymcgill · 22/12/2024 19:51

@BabaGanouch I have paying it I get it delivered within 2 or 3 days I would move but the thought of having to take pictures of myself in the mirror again Is something I don't want to experience again for a few months anyway

im not sure if you need to. Dont you just send them a copy of the old prescription / order

murraymcgill · 22/12/2024 19:59

No I dont have a prescription my GP wouldn't prescribe saying I wasn't fat enough I was 15stone 4 at 5.6 so I have to pay I just fill in a quick questionnaire

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 22/12/2024 20:54

@murraymcgill that ‘quick questionnaire’ is an online consultation form. If approved, the prescribing pharmacist will prescribe mounjaro for you. You cannot get it without a prescription. GPs are not the only ones to create prescriptions.

To order elsewhere you will need a previous order or a photo of the prescription label from your own box. Most pharmacies will want a photo of you too.

My blood test kit arrived this morning but because of Xmas the email says not to do it until the 2nd!!! Do it will be a while before I start. I want to start now!

I think that given they are apparently doing a medical trial, that they might not be as flexible as a normal supplier. I'd want to look at the terms and conditions in close detail, to see what the costs are if you need to make changes that aren't compatible with what they want to do on their trial.

They certainly wouldn't want you to be using the pen in a way not authorised by the manufacturers, as in getting a 5th dose out of it, or counting clicks to do a smaller dose.

I am surprised participants in a linival trial are expected to pay for their own medication??

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/12/2024 00:19

I'm guessing it's similar to Zoe. They all pay to be part of the gut research /have access to the Zoe app.

I guess its mentally beneficial - trial people get a half price product and the company get the data to prove their "product" (as in the whole product they offer) works.

I'm okay with it. It's going to save me a fortune if they okay me with it.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/12/2024 00:20

But equally if people have a bit more money than me I can see why you might go elsewhere.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 27/12/2024 17:23

Um so it seems online Shemed are saying it CAN be cancelled with 28 days notice. That's not what it looks like from their T and C. I'm planning to do it for a year but screenshotting these just in case!

My blood test kit has just arrived, I will be doing it on the 30th

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/12/2024 10:28

I wondered about that. The app says from the 30th but the emails said the 2nd

Im guessing it needs to be processed and they're worried nye/nyd there might not be staff.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/12/2024 10:29

Let me know how you get on!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/12/2024 10:32

I'm stalking some of their Facebook ads and it does look like they're saying you can cancel with 28 days notice now.

I wonder if they realised it was making them not look so good! It's incredible price really.

That seems quite clear then and not the scam that people claim it to be. The T&C are probably just overly robust. Good luck with the blood tests and hope you are accepted onto the programme!

I spent some time "chatting" to someone online today from Shemed and I think I'm going to go for it.

I think in theory if you stop you'd owe the rest of the years worth but I suspect if there's a clinical reason they'd stop anyway.

In order to get the reduced price (99 a month)

  • You do have to have a 60second call roughly once a week where they watch you do the injection (3 weeks out of 4)

*you have to do a blood test first which they charge 49 for to check you're eligible on their criteria. If you're not they refund it.

  • There are symptoms questionnaires. To fill in.

It does seem brilliant. There is support like with some of the higher charging apps and they are happy to help with side effects and discuss side effects. There's clinicians you can talk to if you want to.

They do a (free) blood test at 6 and 12 months which I'm interested in.

However high a dose you get to the price stays at 99 a month and gets delivered each month. Any problems with deliveries and they send another.

I think it's a good deal. They do put you back up to their standard plan 199 if you don't fulfil the reporting requirements though.

Id quite like the support and am going to give it a go

They send out the blood test but you can't return it til 2nd Jan as they need to know it can be couriered and then within a few days they send the first pen!

Its linked with eMed so it is established.

What are they testing for? I just took my last dose of my pen would they be testing for Mounjaro in your system? I want to do it but worried they will reject me and I blow it by now having it out of my system when I do take the blood test.

Curious response…..
U still haven’t replied about them using theiR own staff to make promotional videos like as though they were regular customers .
is that legal??
Is That what you meant by” no company is perfect”? 😳
You seem very keen to get off this subject 🤔

Edited

She doesn’t work for them why is she suddenly the spokes person for these subjects? Give it a rest.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/12/2024 18:45

You have to have been off MJ for 28 days to do it.

They are looking at things like sugar level. Liver function and something else. They hope it will improve I think.

Thank you so will they test for it in our blood do you think? I really want to do this seems like the best option, been on it since end of July lost 3stone 3 lb but I just can’t afford to keep paying and dreading having to have to stop, this seems the best option for me.

Do they have a maintenance option?

I thought you had to be new to MJ?

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/12/2024 18:57

If you haven't been off it for 28 days you can't do the 99 plan AFAIK.

They do have another one for 199 but I don't know as much about that.

I haven't done my test yet but hope to start 10th Jan if it all comes back in time.

I'm curious to know about maintenance too but I've got a year and hope maybe there will be options then!

Their Facebook comments suggest it's okay as long as you've been off for 28 days.

Sorry, your are right, it just says 'currently taking' and within 28 days.

Orangesandlemons77 · 29/12/2024 19:01

Thing is, I had my blood tests recently for another med I am taking and my cholesterol and BP is much better, I guess that would be the same now even if I took a month's break, not sure if it would affect their health study and blood tests having taken it previously

Orangesandlemons77 · 29/12/2024 19:03

I get my 10mg pen for £98 atm with Voy, as I have some referral credits, so that is the same kind of price, plus I hear they are now price matching as well so think I will stick with that.
