Took injection #3 lastnight. Weighed this morning. -11lb over two weeks which I'll take. Biggest thing for me is cutting out bread - still crave it so that's definitely willpower needed on top of whatever the jab is doing for me.

👏👏👏 fab loss!

I'm tempted to leave because I didn't t get one - even though if he had got me one, I'd be leaving too 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, he couldn't win this one. Not getting me an advent calendar = proof that he doesn't care. Getting me junk food = proof that he doesn't care. Poor DH...

Jabtastic · 01/12/2024 06:49

It's proving pretty accurate in my case! ConfusedConfused Apparently only when I eat actual egg.

@Mounjaropen I do like cooking from scratch but between a chronic illness, heavy workload and fussy family it's harder than usual at the minute. The jabs made my fatigue worse overall in the first month although more recently it's not as clear cut. I'm hoping all the side effects will settle.

lol at the dreaded burps…hope they’re not too bad.

can you batch cook the dishes everyone likes when you feel well enough and bring them out of the freezer on the days you don’t? When my kids were little I used to mainly do sharing dishes in the middle so they took what they fancied but my mantra was that I wasn’t a short order cook. Or I used to let them take turns in deciding what tea would be so that they understood not every day would be their personal fave. Seemed to work. They don’t stay fussy forever IME, it’s usually a power play between themselves 😂

For the heartburn I would definitely recommend not eating a Greggs sausage roll 😂 it's the only thing I've eaten today and my throat is on fire!

🤣 yep any form of pastry is a killer!

MsRumpole · 01/12/2024 09:16

Reposting my weigh in yesterday to get properly bookmarked on here. Thanks for the new thread!

Weighed in today, though injection day is tomorrow (it just occurred to me that they don't have to be on the same day). Week 1 Day 6. I've lost nearly 7lb, making my total loss in the last two weeks nearly 13lb. Mental. I'm really pleased but also really anxious about ending up with saggy skin if I lose too much too soon.

Some of that is a delayed reaction from last week (had my period so would have been a bit bloated) but even so. If it's still like this at the end of week 4 I'm sticking with 2.5mg for another month.

SW: 151kg
CW: 145.2 kg
GW: 95 kg

MounjNewb · 01/12/2024 09:20

Thanks for the new thread - just checking in. W3D7 so last 2.5mg jab tonight. Down 10lbs in 3 weeks and enjoying life. Now wondering if I should go up next week or not. Witchcraft indeed.

Annoyed with self as went way over calories yesterday for no real reason. Food was fine, but a Gin and tonic, 2 Brandy cocktails and a glass of wine and that's 2000 calories right there. Feel ok this morning except for a mild hangover ish headache.
In fairness that's about half of what I would normally drink when out on a Saturday night so I suppose there is still some moderation there, but I am annoyed with myself for not making better choices. Could have had four gin and slims for instance which would have been easier on the content.
And I'm hungry this morning which I always am after drinking. Again though, where before I would have had a massive breakfast, probably a big old sandwich for lunch and full roast dinner in the evening, I won't do that today-(mainly on willpower however as I've no suppression today, and could easily devour a full English!) so still a win, but I think I'd got complacent about how well my brain re training was going re food and drink choices.

I think you're being too hard on yourself here. You're doing amazingly well and to make weightloss sustainable in the long term you cannot be strict 100% of the time. A total intake of 2000 calories is not bad at all for a one off!

Hi OP
Can you change the name of the thread? It's a bit gross.

I mean this is the reality that a lot of us are experiencing 😆😭

Demjay · 01/12/2024 09:33

I think I may have had an episode of hypoglycaemia last night?! Anyone else?
I was intensely hungry- so hungry that I almost ordered a bunch of junk food off Deliveroo, but I managed to stop myself and get some healthy leftovers from the fridge. Then I had an episode of intense chills. The heating was on but I needed an extra layer of pjs and two duvets and I was still freezing. Felt like a fever but no temperature. Took an aspirin and eventually fell asleep and when I woke in the night was hot again.

This morning I woke up exhausted and promptly vomited 🙄.

So all in all, jab 6 not going well for me…

WeakAsIAm · 01/12/2024 10:03

Just place marking the new thread thanks OP.
Catching up, weigh day tomorrow will report in then.
Happy Sunday all

Yes really. I don't think it's in the supportive context under which these threads were originally set up.

That is a great loss! I’ve been incorporating toning exercises into my exercise regime and upped my neck skincare game to try and stave off any sagginess. We shall see….

Follow the advice from @IHateMozzies on thread 2. It definitely works. You’ll need to order from medExpress as normal then you’ll get credit into your account.

Oh wow, this thread moves quickly. Great news for those with losses and hopefully the posters who are struggling are starting to see results.

I was worried about today’s weigh in. I went to Bath with my mum and we did the spa then went for a lovely Thai dinner. I tried to make sensible choices, and it was delicious. But I also had alcohol (no suppression for me, but I don’t drink much usually). I’m delighted that I didn’t gain, just stayed the same. Hurrah for having Jasmin tea rather than a dessert. Felt so stuffed I didn’t even feel hard done by.

so at the end of week 2, loss has slowed but I’ll take it:

sw - 12st 9lbs
cw - 11st 11lbs
gw - 10st 4lbs

week 1 - 10lbs loss
(including a week while I waited for the pen but I started calorie counting)
week 2 - 2lbs

challenges this week included work Christmas do with buffet food and eating out/alcohol.

5mg pen purchased. Jab time later today. Good luck everyone.

We have to laugh at ourselves and our experiences along the way. This is such a supportive group (one of the best I’ve experienced and I’ve been on mn for years). The name reflects the fact there’s side effects to the jab. Personally, I’ve eaten loads of eggs on the jab and haven’t had eggy burps, but others have jointly joked about it on the previous threads. I’m not sure I understand the offence you’ve taken but please don’t see that as a sign we’re not supportive.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 01/12/2024 11:24

I didn't even notice the name of the thread. No eggy burps here, but it is a thing for a lot of MJ users.

Maybe have a look at Mary Berry/Delia for make ahead dishes you can freeze. Then as the mood takes you in December, just make one at a time. For me, it’s just a big roast dinner. Pudding will be very non traditional. Leftovers for Boxing Day. Can you rope I. Anyone to help?

That's a good plan. I have the Delia cookbook already.

Couldn't eat much yesterday, which is a first for me in 64 years :) but i did have 2 of theLidl spare ribs that I did for DH for dinner. OMG the heartburn all night was awful. Or it could have been the 2 gins that I had in the evening. I've managed breakfast of protein bagel and smoked salmon this morning.

PS great thread title.

If you had tonic with the gin rather than a martini I’d wager it was the fizzy tonic water that is your issue. Hope you feel better today.

I’m quietly pottering about the house with Xmas tunes on doing my trees etc with no bugger disturbing me. I actually feel less annoyed by everyone since being on MJ. Maybe this is an unintended benefit. Probably because I’m not starving and hangry 🥰
