Weetabix & wine must be a Christmas special somewhere @DarkForces maybe with Prosecco?

So charity shop were very polite today but basically said that they didn’t want my size 20 fatty clothes even if some still had price tags on - so I had the walk of humiliation back to my car with my proposed donations.😳. Not saleable was the phrase used.

I’m absolutely shocked about that charity shop! The woman sounds horrible. And incredibly sizeist - I’d be tempted to email their head office about your experience and ask if they purposely choose to discriminate against people who wear larger sizes (who presumably are not welcome to buy clothes in their shops, as they ‘apparently’ refuse to stock them).

So sorry that happened to you. I’m raging on your behalf. Ungrateful cow. I’d love to hear which charity chain it is - we have loads in the little town I’m in and I’ll pop in to see what sizes they have here!

🥳 I can finally wear ALL the jeans in my wardrobe without Spanx or thinking about it. Lovely feeling. 🥰

Hooray for both of you! I love a NSV, especially when it comes to clothing.

Hey all I’ve been reading along with you all you are all amazing by the way but not posting too much as work has been so hectic but that’s another story. I’ve broken into the 11 stone range too. I’m thrilled.
I wanted to share - I think I might have found a mini solution to feeling so awful rough the first night after an injection. I think for me the slowing of digestion is very strong straight away and anything even marginally substantial I’ve eaten prior will sit in upper stomach and repeat on me giving nausea and an unpleasant and disturbed night of sleep. So this time on injection day I decided just to have a cup of Sainsbury’s chicken and veg soup which is very light - and avoid proper dinner altogether. Result? I’ve had a lovely sleep following my 5mg injection. This feels like a break through. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else struggling with this aspect of the miracle medicine.
Oh and by the way we had work Xmas lunch the other day. I went for the vegan option (not like me at all) which was actually super delicious but I had to just stare at the amazing roast potatoes on my plate- as only managed to eat one. What has happened to me??

Goldleafcat · 13/12/2024 07:47

What are your MJ plans for Christmas?

After wailing about not getting much suppression on lower doses, this third week of 5mg has felt different. I jab on a Monday. Last night and this morning I think I can feel it is less strong now (and I’d kind of planned it that way with the Monday jab approach, in order to have some treats at the weekend to balance the week and feel I can partake in ‘normal’ life occasionally without getting grumpy and resentful in the long run). With Christmas Day falling on a Wednesday, I’m considering moving my next dose to a Tuesday, and then on Christmas week taking it on Boxing Day instead (the Thursday). Counter intuitive for weight loss I know, but I do want to enjoy the turkey and trimmings! I’ve ordered a 7.5 pen too and am supposed to start that Christmas week 🫣

Think I will try to use the bonus dose from the 5mg pen and wait until the following week!

I’ve stuck with 2.5 with hardly any suppression, as I really want to enjoy my Christmas dinner! Hoping it’s just enough to stop me from overeating.

@Babymamamama I was wondering about this. Obviously on jab day you would think suppression would be at it's lowest, therefore you might be tempted to eat more. I think I did last Friday (my jab day) and I got awful heartburn and fullness that night, I hadn't eaten anything particularly bad but I did probably have a larger portions. Today I'm going to be mindful and see if that helps.

No weight lost this week, I'm about half a pound up from last Friday.

Cantbesure · 13/12/2024 08:06

I've done the same @Goldleafcat and started my jabs on a Monday so I'm not feeling the full impact on a weekend. Although due to the virus I had it's moved to Tuesday as I was just too poorly the second Monday.

I'm wondering about staying on 2.5 over Christmas. My suppression is still quite strong and I would like to be able to eat something.

I've got 3 meals out this weekend and not sure how to manage them. I've just been looking at the menu for today and rather than looking at what is the tastiest I've been looking at what the lightest option is!

Babymamamama · 13/12/2024 08:10

Re Christmas I’m just going to try to keep going as I am. Have a little of what I fancy but everything in moderation. I’ve only told two close friends IRL that I am on MJ. Amd n relatives know. So I just style it out when I’m in company now saying I’ve just eaten so not super hungry. If I get gifted any chocs over the festive season I will regift them stealthily as DD (lucky for her doesn’t even have a sweet tooth god love her ) and my previous addiction to the sweet stuff is completely gone at least for now. I’ve tried the odd bit of choc but it doesn’t even taste right on MJ. Too sweet. 😅

jay55 · 13/12/2024 08:15

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, for the duration of Christmas period and will miss two jabs, planning on a week of 2.5 when I get back. Hoping I don't go too wild with the eating and will be walking a lot more than usual.
Going back to 2.5 makes a lot of sense over Xmas, hope everyone works out what is best for them and no one has stomach issues on the day.

Had a hungry day yesterday, after skipping dinner due to being out Monday and Tuesday nights and having a tin of soup for dinner Wednesday it wasn't too surprising. Had a rice and chicken bowl from Wagamama, managed maybe half, but had some snacks later in the evening too.

WoodsWanderer · 13/12/2024 08:19

Morning all.

It's jab day today (no 4 on 2.5). I'm away for the weekend and had considered leaving it until I'm home on Sunday but yesterday was the first day I was really hungry and craved chocolate since starting so I'm just going to do it today.

My progress hasn't been as much as I'd thought, but I suppose it's no good comparing yourself to others and it's much better than I'd have managed on my own.

Wk 1 -3.6lbs
Wk 2 -1.8lbs
Wk 2 -2lbs

Total loss 7.4lbs.

Mounjaropen · 13/12/2024 08:45

Cantbesure · 13/12/2024 07:05

@Mounjaropen to be fair my exercise has stalled. I was floored with a bad virus about the same time I started MJ which lasted for ages and ended up with antibiotics for a chest infection. I'd just finished couch to 5k too so need to get back to it.
I'm eating less than I ever have so assumed the weight would still be going down not up. I've noticed each week I creep up a bit just before my jab but then it drops again the day after my jab. This week has been a different pattern.
I'm not unhappy as I've lost 8-9lbs in the last 3.5 weeks and moved down into the next stone bracket. It's just making me wonder if I should titrate up after my bonus dose. I don't really want any further suppression as I'm struggling to eat enough healthy calories. I will order 5 and maybe titrate to 3.75.

I felt rough week 1 of 5mg and exercise dropped but I’m back to normal this week. If you can get back to elevating your exercise level I think you’ll see the scales shift. Doesn’t have to be strenuous- a consistent daily walk is both achievable and enough.

I am away for a weekend coming up. Normally inject on a Saturday morning.

Wondering if I should take today or delay until Monday… As there will be meals out, I am thinking I should delay until Monday but would appreciate other people’s thoughts!

Can you take the pen with you in a cool bag?

I’m continuing. Last time I lost a significant amount of weight was the Atkinson diet in 2004 and I started at Xmas. Stopped me overeating. Bizarrely FOMO is the one thing I haven’t had and my FOMO vibes were extremely strong 😂

Thanks @Mounjaropen @Goldleafcat The charity’s name starts with a B. I dare say the other people/volunteers in their are lovely.

I am sticking with 2.5mg for January as I will be off on holiday for two weeks travelling so I don’t want to risk any reactions. Christmas will be a challenge and my goal is not to put on my usual half stone and then fail to lose it all after.

I haven’t worn jeans in years as I thought with my wobbling about it would look like two ferrets fighting. It will be an NSV when I get there. I am going to get myself on Vinted for wardrobe updates

@WoodsWanderer any loss is a loss to celebrate 👏🏻

Pumpkinforever · 13/12/2024 08:58

@OliviaFlaversham I got a Frio cool pen holder wallet to take on holiday. I am only taking one pen and then when I get back on Wednesday night I will take first dose of next pen instead of usual Monday night

The Frio holders where designed for diabetic pens but on another thread they were recommended for MJ holiday makers

MsRumpole · 13/12/2024 08:59

Morning! Having lost nothing last week, I am down another 4.5lb this week (week 4). I've ordered the 5mg pen but have popped it in the fridge and am going to order a 2.5mg pen instead as I don't really want to go up if the 2.5mg is working.

SW: 23st 11lb
CW: 22st 8.5lb
GW: probably about 14.5 stone but we'll see

I've ditched kilos - I'm a child of the 70s and I can only do human weights in stones and pounds

Just weighed myself and I am 12st 9.2lbs 16lbs off so far 🥳. Proper proud of myself today. Tennis lesson this morning and might have a little tuna/salmon Sashimi lunch after to celebrate.

Dinner today is homemade burgers (5% fat minced beef made with only salt and pepper added, shaped to form burgers then chilled) I’ll have mine with iceberg lettuce leaves instead of a bun. I will have a cheese slice melted on the top. Serving with sweet potato wedges seasoned with chilli oil, harissa and salt.

Out for a mega lunch with good friend tomorrow (the sort that turns into dinner). Just remembered a dress I haven’t worn since DH’s 50th birthday at a fancy restaurant in NYC (he’s now 55 😂) so off to see if it looks good.
