I am absolutely starving today. It could be day 1 of my period, it could be yesterday’s hangover leading to more food, or it could be the delay in taking today’s dose. Whatever it is, I’m having use a lot of willpower to wait for my dinner to cook!

bananasplice · 30/11/2024 18:18

@LindtCurves
I can definitely feel a difference, I haven't gone down a size yet but my clothes are baggier and I think I was bulging out of them before!
I had a few people at work mention it but I am still wearing the bigger clothes so it is not as obvious.
As I have so much to lose I don't want to buy a new wardrobe yet so as I wear more fitting things it may become easier to see.
I still have a long way to go so aim to buy a few smaller items and wear the clothes in my wardrobe I have not seen for years!

SellWell · 30/11/2024 18:40

Checking in. Did my second injection yesterday, felling a bit pants today, nothing in particular just a bit MEH.

I was super hungry Thursday night, but had rice cake instead of my usual whole block of stilton, pack of crackers and various chutneys. Injection went well, Insomnia is a REAL issue 😓

Whattodowithaminute · 30/11/2024 18:44

Glad to find you all thanks for new thread. Am feeling rough today, nausea, stomach cramps and sulphur burps all day, haven’t managed to eat much, planning plain dinner, bath and bed!

namechangedyetagain · 30/11/2024 18:47

Thought I might get an extra dose out of my 2.5 pen but I couldn't make it work. So I've started on the 5mg tonight. Lost 2lbs this week, it's ever so slow but I think now 11lb down from the beginning which I'm happy with. Expected more given my size but that will do.

namechangedyetagain · 30/11/2024 18:48

Pic would be helpful!

Congratulations on your loss! 😊

Nice to have other people noticing as well I guess 😊

Weekly weigh in and injection. First 5ml dose today.
starting BMI 50.4
Week 1 weigh in -14lbs
Week 2 weigh in -9lbs
Week 3 weigh in -5lbs
Week 4 weigh in -3.5lbs
current BMI 45.4
It’s taken a fair bit of will power so I’m looking forward to the 5 dose kicking in and hoping no negative side affects of increasing the dose. Also telling myself that of course the weight loss slows down a bit (the great start gave me over the top expectations).

Incredible 👏

Checking in. I went out last night for the first time since starting and had a drink. I’m feeling rough - but not remotely hungry - today. Usually I want to eat all the beige food in the house but right now I can’t think of anything I actually want to eat. The way this drug works is mind blowing. More so because this is how some people feel without any medication, it’s just their normal, really brings it home how some people just manage to never be overweight if this is their normal state of affairs.

Keep going! It really is witchcraft 😂

Also checking in. Finished my first 4 weeks on Tuesday, having lost 16.5lbs, which I’m thrilled about. Gone straight up to the 5mg and no adverse effects so far.
This stuff is amazing! I’m still able to eat a really decent lunch (which I’m lucky enough to get provided at work) but all snacking cravings have gone. No added sugar, Diet Coke addiction disappeared and no booze. I didn’t drink a lot but would always be ready for my Friday night tipple. No interest whatsoever now.
Hope everyone else has a good weekend

That’s an amazing achievement! Congratulations!

I'm reposting here so I save my place!!!

After my tantrum during the week because the scales weren't moving, I did my proper weigh-in this morning and it did do a mini-whoosh! 2lbs off this week. I'm happy with that but it definitely took some effort in the last few days.

W2D7
SW - 15st 9 / BMI 32.4
CW - 15st 2 / BMI 31.4
This wk - 2 lbs
Total - 7 lbs

I'm really happy with half a stone in 2 weeks on MJ. My BMI has come down a point as well.

What I REALLY want is to see something starting with 14 on the scales before the end of the first pen!

I've already lost 7 lbs on my own since September, before I started MJ. So from 2nd Sep I'm down 15lb from 16st 3.6, and my BMI has gone from 33.3 to 31.4

I take my jab on Saturday evenings. Side effects - a bit of nausea usually on day 3 or 4. Sleep disruption on days 0-2. Burps and indigestion. And feeling more full until day 4 when it then isn't as strong.

So feeling very positive.

My aim is to stay on 2.5mg until my jab on 28th Dec. For that one I am going to increase to the 5mg pen but do 3.75 for a few weeks and see how I go.

I might even be brave and jump straight to 5mg as I'm at home over new year so potential side effects less of an issue when not at work.

It took me what seemed like aaaages to get to the next stone down but I got there in week 4. Keep going!

First injection last night and feeling slightly queasy today but not hungry.

Although I’m a 12/14 I’m obese as over 12 stone at 5’3”. Previously I’ve lost weight when I’ve tried but I think perimenopause has hit hard and I can’t shift it. I’m carrying a lot of fat around my middle, particularly above my belly button. Not good to surround my organs with fat and something I felt I needed to address for long term health reasons.

You are doing the right thing. I put off addressing menopausal fat gain for far too long. If only MJ had existed as I hit Meno.

In fact today is injection day and I’m putting it off 😣
Just need to remember - no dairy (/eggs!) for at least 48 hrs 😅

Let us know how you get on!

Morning all

@AlwaysTimeForWine I had done exactly the same thing. Intense job and two kids under 4... wine had crept in too much. Now I don't really want it.. it's so strange. Like you said @JasonTindallsTan maybe this is how 'normal' people operate?

Anyway just finished my second week and woke up hungry, have tried to cure that with some scrambled egg. Will do my 3rd jab this evening. The good news is that I'm no longer 'obese'! As a shortie I spend most of my life in that BMI bracket.

SW 172lb, BMI 31.5
W1 loss 7.8lb
W2 loss 3.2lb
CW 161lb, BMI 29.4

Definitely should see the 150s next week, that would make me so happy.

Such an amazing result ! Congrats!

Morning all can I join please? Took my first dose 18/11 now on w2 day6 current loss of 5 pounds in the first week and weigh in on Monday morning again!

Side effects have been manageable so far but really struggling with the heartburn at the min, does anybody have any suggestions? I've tried everything!!

Welcome! We’ve all had it. For me it did subside after the first couple of weeks. Avoid fizzy drinks is the top advice. And very spicy foods. I hope it subsides.

Hi all, W4D1 here. Took my final 2.5mg dosage and my 5mg pen is being delivered today, ready for next week. I’m definitely going up because the food noise and suppression isn’t as strong as it was the first 2/2.5 weeks so I feel I need that extra support.
SW 19st 8lbs.
CW 18st 5lbs.
Total lost so far 17lbs, feeling good.

Well done to everyone so far on this journey. I read all the comments, there are too many to respond too 😂 but seriously though well done to everyone! 👏

17lbs is awesome, Congrats!

Thanks for new thread.

Day 5 on 5 and I'm forgetting to eat. And drink.

Woke up queasy but it lifted. Am away for weekend so don't know what the scales are doing.

Interested to see how you get on. I’m starting 5mg on Monday. Eek!

End if week 2 for me, 12lbs down .. would be delighted to hit the Stone next week.

Still getting nauseous post jab, but it’s manageable. Making better choices, still supressed, and on small meals as fuller quicker.

12lbs down in 2 weeks is amazing! 👏

Checking in! I’m W5D5, did the bonus dose this week and have noticed the suppression hasn’t been as consisent so feeling ready to move up, although still undecided if that’s 3.75 or 5.

I don’t anticipate a big loss this week, but I’m on board with 1/1.5lbs losses a week now.

Soup for lunch and some homemade chilli tonight, I’ll have green veg with mine and DP will have rice.

Nice to see you all beavering away!

As my old teacher used to say…persistence cannot live with failure… keep going!

Hello, thanks for the new thread.

Jist checking in, took my first 5mg last night and have spent the day looking for symptoms. Upped my water intake and made myself eat breakfast - been fine.

Was feeling a bit queasy and realised had not bothered with lunch (unheard of for me). Had a small snack and feel fine again - hoping that continues! Will heed the advice to avoid eggs for the next day or so.

2lbs off this week taking the total loss now to 1stone 1lb. Delighted with that.

I used the bonus dose last week, think it was around 3.2mg. Had completely worn off by mid week and massive willpower was required.

Good luck to everyone this week.

Ooh. Interesting. I’ve got fingers crossed for 5mg. I’ve now officially lost a stone too, so long may this continue!

Hi, can I join you all?
I started on 22nd November and had my 2nd jab yesterday.
SW 173lbs (175 when I ordered)
Wk 1 169.6lbs
Tw 145lbs
Loss so far 3.4lbs

Not as big a first week loss as most but I'm stayinf positive and putting it down to already walking 10k steps a day, eating a high protein diet and being teetotal so I don't get demotivated at this early stage.
Perimenopause has kicked my butt and I just cannot seem to lose weight on my own. It's been so helpful reading through the threads on here.

welcome! Menopause is a bitch tbh so you are in good company. Many of us here because of it. Keep going!

Jabtastic · 30/11/2024 20:16

I'm getting some very low level niggling pain that I suspect may be gall bladder. It's just below my ribs centre right. I'm only on 3.75 not even 5! I'm starting to really feel like this medication is not for me. Admittedly my diet is rubbish at times just smaller portions of rubbish. So tonight I had a third of a Chinese takeaway.

Selkie9 · 30/11/2024 15:05

Thanks for the new thread! I'm at W5 D5 and on my first week of 5mg. So far so good on the new dose, except for having diarrhoea once on Thursday evening! My partner and our young child both have had it in the past day or two so I'm guessing mine was unrelated to MJ. Haven't been to the toilet since so I'm hoping constipation isn't on the way now!!

I'm away this weekend visiting family who don't know I'm on the medication so I'm trying to eat as "normally" as possible but they know I've lost weight and have cut down on portion sizes.

Weighed myself yesterday morning as it was a full month since I started on 29th October and I have a total loss of 7.7kg. Couldn't believe it! Although the big loss this week could have been from the diarrhoea.

Amazing! (Not the diarrhoea obvs)
