Maintenance Policy Email Cloud Pharmacy And Others. (A list of Mounjaro maintenance providers)

Hi, just for anyone who's asking for pharmacies policies on maintenance, I've just received an email from Cloud pharmacy and this is so far the best stance I've seen anywhere. Some other pharmacies offer maintenance but Cloud seem to be the first I've seen to finally outrightly state "for life" rather than 'We'll see how it goes', 'Well have a consultation and discuss your options', 'Let's have a chat', 'You have to pay a small fee to stay on our books while you're on maintenance', 'We're happy to work with you for maintenance and we take it individually', etc. I also know they offer one month on and one month off for maintenance from what some people on reddit are on. I hope more pharmacies get on board this "for life" stance rather than beating about the bush or being limited to a certain bmi cutoff or taper.

Just wanted to post this so others can have an idea and decide for themselves as it's mostly been one or two popular pharmacies that posters constantly advertise all over the MJ forums. I use Cloud and they're excellent so far. They're on the monj.co uk list and others lists too. I'll definitely stay with them for maintenance when the time comes. No referral codes and they give discounts to their customers without you doing anything for it, so I have no skin in the game. I definitely have nothing to gain from posting, just sharing to help others.

Feel free to share other pharmacies maintenance policy on this thread if you have any in writing. It will help us all to know who to go with for support. X

No they don't. Just a form. I'm with them and they've been really good. Really quick turnaround with delivery. They are pro maintenance too which was the most important thing for me.

@izzy2076 is this Cloud or Family Chemist please?

izzy2076 · 03/01/2025 21:54

Cloud pharmacy.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2025 23:56

Looks like cloud are the only ones who will do a low as 19

Most say 22/23

To be 22 I would have to be 10.1

Never gonna happen

Was 10.10 once and looked gaunt

So any company that says 22/23 is fine for me

It's so hard as don't know who to swap to for maintenance but from what I've read on here does seem cloud is the best ans no monthly fee like ousch

IrisPallida · 04/01/2025 11:03

I have moved to Pharmulous. I am not at maintenance just yet, but I emailed a few pharmacies regarding their maintenance policy and I liked the response from Pharmulous the best.

I am not really a tiktoker as it mostly horrifies me, but one of the Pharmulous prescribing pharmacists is on there. She is a GP and is the medical director of Pharmulous. She is on Mounjaro herself and has tracked her progress on there as well as posted lots of info on GLP1s.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 12:02

@Onceachunkymonkey what do Pharmulous say for maintenance ? Thanks

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 04/01/2025 12:12

@Blondeshavemorefun Oushk don’t charge a monthly fee for maintenance, only if you want to stay on their books without ordering any pens in case you want to later. Also, pretty sure both Oushk and Pharmulous would support to 19 if appropriate. TFC have a blog saying they would go to 19 but recent comms seem to say they would then want you to taper and come off rather than stay on long term. The mounjaromaintenanceuk sub on Reddit has loads of info!

Have just received a pen from Pharmulous. They have been great communicators all the way through (answering my many inane questions!) until the actual despatch and delivery 🤷‍♀️ On Tuesday (when they were supposed to be shut!) they confirmed it would be sent on Thursday for expected delivery Friday then radio silence. I emailed on Friday to ask them if it had been sent and got not response. Then last night I got the email from RM to say it would be delivered today. Weird!

Oh god, this is going to out me to them! OK -

"Thank you for your email.
We support long term maintenance on Mounjaro with no abrupt cut off point but this is a case by case discussion / decision in where a personalised plan needs to be devised identifying the appropriate dose. This is usually when the individual approaches a 'healthy BMI' as we still have a professional duty to ensure all our prescriptions are both safe and appropriate whilst meeting your needs.
Pharmulous are committed to supporting our patients reach a healthy BMI and beyond. We understand and appreciate the need to adopt additional healthy lifestyle interventions in order to achieve this and would consider prescribing Mounjaro for as long as our patients are benefiting from the medication and our clinicians are satisfied that the medication is being prescribed both appropriately and safely within a healthy BMI range.
To switch over, we require the completion and submission of an online assessment selecting the required dose. Once this is received, you will receive a separate email with a link to verify your ID through and a request to email proof of your current dose from your previous supplier. Once this information is received, the order can be processed and dispatched.
Kind regards,
Pharmulous Team"

I’m not sure how this would out you. But thank you. I’m afraid it’s too woolly for me. But we all read it differently.

IrisPallida · 04/01/2025 17:22

I strongly suggest that you email the maintenance pharmacies with your own questions. Only you can decide what is best for your needs.

What I want is

  1. A pharmacy that properly adheres to guidelines for safe practices and takes on board all available data, eg SURMOUNT-4.
  2. Will work with me while I work out what works best for me - not what works best for them or for anyone else on SM or elsewhere
  3. Will leave me alone while this is going on whilst keeping to points 1 & 2 so both of us are respectful of each others priorities. Essentially what I don't want is monthly pep talks, diet advice, video calls etc etc unless they are necessary for either of points 1& 2.

There are a couple of other things that sort of matter to me - I deeply dislike the facebook page/supporters group of one of the more quoted maintenance pharmacies. That wouldn't matter so much if they were the only one where points 1, 2 & 3 were also adhered to but fortunately they are not.

I think if people want actual advice on maintenance in the sense of being told what to do, then they likely need a different approach than mine. Given that in the UK there is no local maintenance info available other than the Surmount-4 trial results and all those studies on weight regain after any sort of diet, then I think all of us need to keep researching as best we can. If you look at the USA maintenance reddit, where people have been maintaining for much, much longer than here, you can see a very very wide range of approaches being adopted. What works for one is very different from what works for another.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 18:08

It won't out you as reads to me a standard reply

I've had a reply from iq and med express which I've seen since mentioned a few times

So bet that is the reply they send to all

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 18:13

@IrisPallida I'm Guessing people want to know

how long they can maintain for (med ex 2yr)

what bmi they stop at 22 seems average but May be as low as 19

When they can swap. Some won't take if under 26/28

Yes I get that everyone responds differently so the outcome /answer May be different

But a basic ballpark helps

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2025 18:13

I also don't want non stop calls /videos etx but to know that if I need them /email that they reply/help

izzy2076 · 04/01/2025 18:27

@IrisPallida I agree with you. That's what I want too. Cloud pharmacy have an evidence based approach and I had discussions with them back in April about maintenance where they were the only pharmacy I knew of who weren't going on about good habits and were aware of the surmount data. They have also left me well alone!

izzy2076 · 04/01/2025 18:30

But I'd definitely go with pharmulous if I wasn't with cloud as I think they seem completely sensible and I like Dr Mel and she's a GP on Mounjaro.

1clavdivs · 04/01/2025 18:37

Trying to choose between Pharmulous and Cloud, as I think the £20 subscription at Oushk might irk me eventually. I'm just off BMI 28 so need to look at doing this soon.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 04/01/2025 20:31

@1clavdivs there isn’t a £20 a month subscription at Oushk unless you want to come off the meds and stay on their books so you can reorder if you can’t maintain without!

Cloud annoyed me as their site states you can keep a pen out of the fridge for 21 days which is not true for UK Kwikpens although they seem to be very flexible with maintenance!

Similar to @IrisPallida, another pharmacy’s fb group annoys the hell out of me and I am a big fan of Dr Mel’s so have ended up at Pharmulous. Will see what the next few orders are like before I decide where to do it maintenance 😁

85reasons · 04/01/2025 21:13

I moved to Oushk in a slight panic a few months ago as I was nervous about not being able to move at lower BMIs. However since then I've ordered twice from IQ and have also been reading up on the Reddit maintenance boards and am pleased to see more acceptance of the need for maintenance. I expect I'll be ready to titrate down (if that works) in a few weeks and ideally would like to end up either on an ongoing lower dose or perhaps try week on/week off.

(I also cannot stand the FB group and wonder how their initial strategy is panning out for them. Offering maintenance won't be their USP and their prices are not that competitive. Like others I've got no interest in being offered dietary advice and subscribe to the view that those of us who've needed to go on Mounjaro probably know pretty much all there is to know about how to eat - it's not knowledge we've been lacking, it's a faulty set of hormones.)

izzy2076 · 05/01/2025 10:11

@85reasons totally agree with you. I'd hate to be offered support too. Imagine those tedious conversations about protein and lifting weights. I've been caning protein and lifting weights for years and still got fat. I can't bear that notion that fat people just don't understand how calories work! I'm an expert as I've been on a diet since I was 15.

DarkForces · 05/01/2025 10:22

Thanks for this info. I'm going to switch to Cloud as I think their maintenance policy is the best I've seen that meets my needs. I'm with Ashcroft and they say they'll support through maintenance once healthy BMI (23-25) is reached and this looks different for each individual. I know that's a fair response, but I wanted reassurance they would work with me to (hopefully) reduce the dose and continue to stabilise my weight in the long-term. Cloud seems far more in line with this approach.

It's such a deeply embedded view of us fatties, isn't it? That we've all basically been either too thick to know what to do - or too lazy to implement the knowledge.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 05/01/2025 10:46

@85reasons@izzy2076 I think this is the attitude that really put me off TFC tbh. Someone on Reddit posted an email from them regarding maintenance and making healthy changes containing the outstanding advice to ‘chew more slowly’…
