My weight has plateaued too. My weight tracker has a date that I will reach my target and it keeps changing it to further and further away! I am so sad!

I can't say I have noticed my change in my body shape but I have avoided my own reflection for so long that it is hard to tell!

Someone at work said my diet must be working as I am looking slimmer in the face, which was nice to hear!

Only about 5 more stone to go!!

EVK · 29/11/2024 23:01

I’ve just ordered my third pen and don’t really know what made me do it but I ordered a 5mg pen!! I’m happy in 2.5 mgs and losing about 1lb a week - bit hen I looked at the price and it was the same - I thought a tiny bit more suppression wouldn’t hurt !!’ Now im
wi seeing what on earth I’ve done! How many clicks would I need for 3.5mgs?

JustKeepsBreathing · 29/11/2024 23:34

Thanks @littleburn that article is really interesting and helpful

TheChosenTwo · 29/11/2024 23:41

Well I’m due to take my second dose of 5mg tomorrow but still feeling very high levels of suppression so might delay until Sunday. Although I’m loathe to fiddle about with the formula/routine so I’ll likely just do it tomorrow night.
Just back from dinner out with friends, had a small chicken salad for lunch and then ordered steak for dinner. Ate half the steak and about 5 chips, one of the mushrooms and that was it, didn’t feel like i could physically fit anything else in. No one noticed, it’s been great actually - i was pre-empting comments about me not eating my dinner but none came thank god! And as I was designated driver I was happy drinking water.

JustKeepsBreathing · 30/11/2024 00:32

I went out for dinner tonight. Managed my starter and two forkfuls from my main - had to swap plates with my husband so he could eat some of mine! Plus a very small glass of wine and a spoonful of my DH’s ice cream. Honestly so stuffed. It’s a very peculiar feeling. I imagine this is how having stomach stapled feels?!
And I wore a dress I haven’t fitted into for years 😀

recklessgran · 30/11/2024 06:44

@EVK I'm pretty sure I'll also be using a 5mg pen in the end for lower doses. If using a 5mg pen you would need 42 clicks for 3.5mgs. It's easy to work out - I think there's a formula floating about somewhere but the 5.mgs pen's easy to figure. Regardless of the dose, each pen's full dose is 60 clicks. In this case that means 5mgs is 60 clicks so each 0.5 mgs would therefore be 6 clicks. That would make 3.5mgs 42 clicks. i.e 7 x 6 clicks so 0.5mgs x 7 = 3,5mgs.

The strangest side effect of the suppression for me is that I get all tge symptoms of low blood sugar but without the prompt of being hungry to resolve it. I wondered why I was getting cold and very snappy and of course it's obvious.

ItsMintUpNorth · 30/11/2024 08:42

I've just ordered my 3rd pen and gone for 7.5, I do think I can tell the 5 is building up in my body now as I'm getting a bit more suppression but as this will cover me over Christmas I thought best go for 7.5 so I have a bit more flexibility. Got it for £118 from IQ doctor which means I've got all 3 jabs at £118 which is less than I was expecting to be spending so very happy with that!

Vegemite123 · 30/11/2024 09:16

@littleburn and @UtterlyQuackers , GRAHH so annoyed that I’m still in plateau. Really thought that today would be THE day. I’ve lost 100g this week. And no NSV, either, I still feel and look the same :(

Thank god at least I don’t feel hungry! But I’m SO cold.

Im thinking that I should increase my dose from 3.75, but I don’t think I ought to have any more suppression.

Weirdly I'm not getting that. At least, I'm not getting 'hangry' like I usually do. I do feel a bit weak if I don't eat for a hugely long time, but I don't have my usual hunger symptons and that's amazing. I'm usually ravenous!

For those talking about plateaus, I thought I hit one. I lost nothing one week and couldn't understand it. But then suddenly I lost 5 pounds the following week! I'm not sure what happened, but I do know I'm glad I persevered. I have read about plateaus lasting for a couple of months so I hope I don't have that, but if so, hopefully a similar 'whoosh' follows! I've lost almost 2 stone in almost 2 months (I think I will hit that) on 2.5mg. But I still want to lose a few more stone. I feel like MJ has given me the gift of willpower.

Shudacudawuda · 30/11/2024 09:39

I'm just starting week 9 and have also hit a plateau, so that's really interesting to hear that others are experiencing the same at a similar point.
In the past this absolutely would be the part where the major struggle to keep going would occur and I would inevitably give up. Pretty confident that's not happening this time but I'll be glad to start losing again. 🤞

Evenstar · 30/11/2024 09:47

@ItsMintUpNorth I think I am going to do the same. I have just taken my third dose of 5mg and although the suppression is stronger than 2.5mg it is definitely wearing off around Wednesday which seems too soon really.

EVK · 30/11/2024 09:48

Brilliant- I’m going to screen shot that so I don’t forget 😅 I’m still with Asda which cost me £179 !!! So desperately need to change supplier too !! Outrageous the difference- just haven’t had the time to investigate other options. Asda so easy for me
regarding being home for deliveries as I can go over and pick up from the pharmacy at the shop - that’s what’s made me
stay with them. I need some needles or a needle for my bonus dose next week too so need to look into that! Everything feels like it’s speeding up with Christmas round the corner and money flying out of my bank account at an alarming rate!
Jab day today and I’ve just about managed to lose another 1lb so:
SW: 11.4 - 11.5
CW: 9.12 3/4
GW: 9

Hi all

It feels like suppression is barely lasting a few days on 5mg, and apart from constipation, very little in the way of side effects, soI have ordered my 7.5mg from IQDoctor today. I have 2 doses of 5mg left (included bonus dose), but as last month, might skip the bonus to get started on 7.5 asap.

As an example, we went away last weekend, (Monday is my usual jab day) and on Saturday I ate a toasted christmas dinner sandwich for lunch (which made me nauseous for a couple of hours after), half a large pizza hut pizza for dinner, plus a bottle of red and a few snacks. Usually I would eat more in the way of sweets, which I did not crave at all, but was actually after savoury tasting stuff.

This was a bit of a one off though, and I am generally living on toast for breakfast/lunch, fruit as snacks and something protein/veg for dinner. usually after dinner is snack time, but dinner is usually enough now, but I do often have the appetite to go a bid mad at the weekend.

Its been a slow and steady loss and after 6 weeks but I am still not at a stone loss. I haven't been very good with exercise, so I do wonder if exercising a bit more might help? I don't enjoy exercising at the best of times, but needs must, as my next pen will take me up to my holiday abroad in Jan, and I could really do with shifting a bit more by then.

I do find that eating anything particularly greasy/fatty either goes pretty much straight through me, and/or makes me feel very nauseous, so either of those makes me not eat for the rest of the day.

I intend to continue over Christmas, which will be interesting, as christmas eve, christmas day and boxing day are all usually days when anything goes food wise!

The discount codes thread seems to be inundated with medexpress codes and no one used mine, so I went with IQ Doctor. I got a discount code with them from monj.co.uk which took the cost from £162 to £125. P&P was an additional £5 and they want a front view and side on selfie, with screen grab of your last prescription/order plus ID, but it was very straight forward.

Medexpress seems to offer further codes for customers who have not ordered in 50/70 days so hopefully I will get to use one from there again.

Seeing you all with good losses has kept me interested tho, and I live in hope of further losses.

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 have you thought about changing your jab day to get the most cover over the weekend?

I’m due 3rd dose of 5mg today, and I’ve also noticed that suppression has waned faster than when I was on 2.5 dose. I’ve had a proper appetite this week since Wednesday. Nothing like my pre MJ overeating, and relatively easy to control, but I’d want my strongest suppression for my problematic days!

Youremylobster86 · 30/11/2024 10:33

Took my first 5mg this morning, usually take it on a Sunday but took a day early to have the whole weekend to recover if I have any side effects.

21lbs down in total since starting on Oct 29th 🎉

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 I am also planning on being good over Xmas!

We are away with family and all the food is already planned out.

ITS GOING TO BE HARD! I am planning on taking my first 7.5mg that week 🤣

@AnneinEdinburgh I took my second dose on Wednesday and luckily have had no side effects other than this sort of thing. The slight dizziness and light headedness really freaks me out though. But it's only at night. Trouble is before I started mj I was ill after being away and symptoms of that were when I went to bed my head was whirling and I was so dizzy. Like horribly dizzy. So I'm not sure if it's just general hormone type things going on due to my age. A good thing is, because of that, I had a full blood screen done and all my levels were very good. Loads of them so a full blood mot! Last night at one am I had to go and find my dextrose tablets as I was dizzy. I've also had a mild headache most afternoons. No gastro side effects though but I almost think I'd rather them than this head stuff going on.

lapuf · 30/11/2024 10:48

Turns out my nasty cold is Covid Blush has anyone delayed an injection due to illness?

Flumpaphone · 30/11/2024 11:11

Morning everyone, just 1lb off this week after my first 5mg jab, bit disappointed but that does bring up the full stone loss.

To be honest I have eaten some crap this week so hopefully back on track next week.

Losingthetimber · 30/11/2024 11:53

4th x 5mg today, only a pound off this week, but I’m ok with that. Not sure whether to do bonus dose or straight to 7,5 next week.

my stomach is shrinking so much, had dinner with some friends last night and they were all commenting immediately on seeing me , I think it’s because my stomach has shrunk back ao much and the belly fat going, it makes me look like I’ve lost more than I have.

previously when I’ve tried to lose weight, my belly was the last to go and even then it was if I was lucky and it was a struggle, now it’s just shrinking back. I clearly had some form of issue like insulin resistance that’s been resolved. But something has caused me to mainly have belly fat and something has caused it to go in 7 weeks, which is unheard of for me,

Evenstar · 30/11/2024 12:05

Maintained this week, I have lost another centimetre off my waist and my wristwatch is loose so can’t understand why the scales aren’t shifting. I know that it is recommended to lose slowly but it’s hard not to feel discouraged, especially as I have had to use willpower quite a bit the last few days.
