Morning @recklessgran don't be disheartened! Hold off until Sunday and enjoy your DH's birthday. Then go up to 3.75 for the next dose and see how you manage. I feel the same way about messing around too much with the dose, when it comes to the 5mg pen I'll either go the whole 5mg or 3.75mg and see how I go.. that said this morning I'm frigging ill..!! Totally self inflicted- two glasses of wine last night as a friend came over and boy oh boy am I feeling it this morning. Fortunately I don't work Fridays so I'm off to the pool to have a swim and then I'll sit in the steam room and sweat out this wine 🥴

Remember, you may not have lost 1lbs this week but measurements could well have changed! Try on something that hasn't fitted you well previously-I'll bet my house it will have changed.

hopeishere · 29/11/2024 07:04

Place marking! Have had a week out of routine so am worried I'll have held or gained this week!

lapuf · 29/11/2024 07:12

@recklessgran having moved up to 3.75 this week I had such an increase in suppression from 2.5 (five weeks), that I'm considering dropping back down this Sunday. I still had ok suppression on 2.5 and I was a bit torn between just getting the weight off or doing it more steadily, now leaning towards the latter. It's not helped that I've had a Covid or a cold this week (not tested) so I feel utterly wiped out too

Gilly1C · 29/11/2024 07:12

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 @ChaosDream
I totally agree, week 1 of 5mg had full suppression then it just drifted away each week, felt strange on this dose as this was the one I was expecting full on bells and whistles. I am extracting bonus dose with a needle tomorrow as want to measure how much I get and 7.5 is on the way

Evenstar · 29/11/2024 07:55

Any ladies who have had bleeding, you must go and have that checked out. Thankfully I haven’t had that side effect, but it would normally mean an urgent referral on the two week wait pathway. When it happened to me a couple of years ago (so definitely not due to MJ) it turned out to be a benign polyp, but it is very important to have unusual bleeding checked after the menopause.

Bluenose1966 · 29/11/2024 08:31

@recklessgran I did 2.5mg last week then 3 days later topped up bu another 1.25mg. Didn’t want to do the 3.75mg in one go as frightened of side effects. I have been getting diarrhoea, thankfully have always made it to bathroom. …..

memememe · 29/11/2024 09:19

I'm a bit confused about what to do, I lost a stone over the first 4 weeks of injections, then nothing the last 3 weeks. I've got suppression, I'm barely eating. Had sulphur burps and some diarrhoea so definitely dont Want to move up too much.

Week 1 was 2.5 lost 4lb
Week 2 - 2.5 lost 3lb
Week 3 2.5 + 30 clicks of the bonus dose lost 3lb
Week 4 2.5 + rest of the bonus dose felt very ill for a whole week. Regretted my choice massively wanted to stop mj totally, lost 4lb waited 10 days before next injection

Week 6 2.5 then 5 days later 2.5 gained 2lb then lost it again later in the week
Week 7(ish 5 days after the last 2.5) 40 clicks of 5mg pen lost nothing. But had definite side effects.

Sorry that's a bit complicated!
Planning on taking 40 clicks again on Sunday but a bit downhearted that I'm not losing any weight now.

I did have mine checked out back in July. I'd had some spotting and the Dr did a referral. I see a very good consultant at the hospital who did a full biopsy and had a good chat about the different types of HRT and how this can cause the lining to thicken .. results all came back fine, HRT changed and all was well. I'm convinced it's now just shedding that lining. It's calmed down now but obviously I'll keep an eye on it

Fizzleawayy · 29/11/2024 09:49

@recklessgran unfortunately I went straight up to 5mg and then dropped down and I take 2.5mg every 4 days now and I feel that works for me.
I will continue to do that I think until I don’t think it’s working as in my mind I’m still getting my 5mg every week.
Happy birthday for your DH too!

@crumbsonmyface Iv been debating this! My works Xmas party is on the 13th and I can’t really pull out of it now (said yes ages ago). It’s an all day thing too that goes into the evening. I’m going to go, push food around my plate and just eat the veggies and meat and have one drinks and then leave I think.
Bit of a shame as Iv only been with the company since Jan so this is my first Xmas do with them and seeing everyone really relax could of been fun but my weight loss is more important to me at the moment. Maybe next year.

how about you?

Evenstar · 29/11/2024 09:50

@recklessgran glad to hear that

Fizzleawayy · 29/11/2024 09:52

Since starting MJ, I don’t eat big meals.

im working away again and last night I had a steak, mushroom, tomato and left 90% of the chips.
I then had a protein bar later on in bed.

This morning I went to breakfast and had poached eggs on toast. God I feel so full, I could be sick.

It feels like non of my food from last night has been digested yet and now I have egg and toast sitting on top.

Worse thing is I have a work 3 course meal at 12.30! No idea how I’m going to eat it at all

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the support and suggestions - I'm now trying to decide whether to try @Fizzleawayy 's approach of 2.5mgs every 4 days or bite the bullet and do 3.75mgs and see what happens. At the moment I'm favouring the former as I'm worried about being incapacitated again and not being able to undertake my not inconsiderable caring duties especially regarding my demented mother. DH can and happily will see to DD but my mother is a whole other ball game!

TheOtherSide21 · 29/11/2024 11:30

I've been a bit absent due to work / weekends away but remembered this morning to weigh and update.

I am on my second dose of 7.5mg, due to take my third Sunday. This week I've wanted to eat more, but physically can't each much volume at one time. I am verging on it being too much for me so may go back down but we will see what the next two/three weeks bring.

Weight wise... well my starting weight was 20 stone bang on and this morning I was 16:13 and 1/4. So three stone and 3/4lb since 27th September. I am starting to feel the benefits now and am in a routine with food / macros / exercise.

I would be ok with the weight loss slowing down a bit now as three stone is a whack to lose in two months and I don't want to detriment my health in any way.

ChaosDream · 29/11/2024 11:35

@Gilly1C glad to hear it's not just me. The scales have barely moved this month. Let's hope 7.5 brings the bells and whistles 😀

I re-ordered from MedExpress on Wednesday. Had an email this morning saying they're experiencing delays reviewing and prescribing due to high demand.
They say they've brought in extra staff and the delay should only be a few days.
Has anyone else had this? My first two pens were approved the day I ordered and despatched the next day.
I'm due to jab tomorrow (last dose of current pen) so don't actually need it until the following Saturday, so I'm hoping it will be ok. I'm imagining getting to the middle of next week, panic-ordering from a different supplier and ending up with a glut of pens in the fridge!

Bluenose1966 · 29/11/2024 11:50

Just had my 6th official weekly weigh in and down 20.5lb.
SW 12st 2lb
CW 10st 9.5lb
GW. 10 st or thereabouts.

Have been doing Michael Mosley’s Fast800, eating lots of protein, low carb (just fruit and veg). My bedtime reading is Fast800 and delighted I now have willpower to follow it, though have still had few meals out and a weeks All Inclusive holiday in that weight loss period.
Anyone stalling may be worth considering Fast800 to give you a boost. I also weight train couple of times a week and walk the dog an hour a day but have always done that with no weight loss before,
I’ll probably jinx myself now but still loosing at least 2lb a week.

littleburn · 29/11/2024 11:51

Well I've hit the dreaded plateau!

Just coming up to week 9. To date I've done 4x 2.5mg, 2x 3.75mg and 3x 5mg. I'd got 2st 9lb to lose in total (I'm a shortie) and at my last weigh-in on 12th November I'd lost 16lb in total. I only weigh every 2/3 weeks as I like to see a definite loss (ha!).

Anyway, weighed today and I haven't lost anything in the last 2.5 weeks. I really thought I'd see a loss as I feel slimmer than 3 weeks ago, plus I've got good suppression and am definitely in a calorie deficit, not premenstrual this week etc. Also I don't want to go up to 7.5mg yet as I think I'll stop eating altogether!

I've done some googling of 'not losing on 5mg' and it comes up a few times on Reddit. One explanation is that for some people the timing of the 5mg weeks coincides with when that initial 'whoosh' of rapid weight loss ends. Plus 'set point theory' where your body goes through a period of trying to maintain your 'new' weight before the next whoosh. Hmmm, let's hope so! It has made me drag the treadmill out from its hiding place under the bed at least ...

On the plus side, on a 'normal' diet this is the point where I'd decide it's just not fair and dive head first into a box of biscuits. I have absolutely no desire to do that this time 😊 MJ has definitely flipped the emotional/comfort eating switch in my brain, so a NSV there at least!

ChaosDream · 29/11/2024 12:28

@igivein I got the same message on Thursday when I ordered but had an email today saying it's been dispatched. Hope yours comes soon.

Missreginafalange · 29/11/2024 14:36

Hey all, need to go back and catch up on the thread.

Wanted to come on with my experience so far on 5mg, injected on Tuesday for my second dose and i have been really surprised by the amount of suppression i have had. i've been ensuring i eat and when i can't eat been having protein shakes to keep the nutrients coming in, as even when eating meals i struggle to eat much. Will definitely order a 5mg pen again next time but am contemplating doing 3.75mg doses at the moment.

Caffeineneedednow · 29/11/2024 15:55

Hi all just checking in.
SW 17 st 2 lbs
CW 15 st 12 lbs
GW 11 st ( skiniest I have ever been in 15 stone but this is in the middle of my BMI so seemed a good number)

On week 7 and ordered pen 3 today. They asked for updated photos and I was so happy with the difference in just a couple months. Was so much more obvious when I put them side by side. Wanted to do a little jig and post somewhere 🙂.

Place marking! Have had a week out of routine so am worried I'll have held or gained this week!

I use the bookmark to remember where I was as it moves so fast!

Vegemite123 · 29/11/2024 17:45

@littleburn I’m the same - at 8 weeks and I’ve hit a plateau. Interesting to hear of your explanations, makes sense. What helps is that, because I’m not hungry as per previous weight loss attempts, I’m able to stick with it.

I’ve just done 4 weeks of 3.75. I get that it seems silly to complain about a lack of weight loss when I’m not on the recommended dose. But I am not keen on more suppression (I couldn’t finish my breakfast this AM). And I’m consistently “under” my calories according to the Nutracheck app. Usually I’m between 1200 and 1400 calories a day (I do a lot of walking and get loads of extra calories in my allowance).

im also looking at new providers. My third Voy delivery is coming today (£50 off when I went through the process of leaving) and am optimistically looking at which supplier is best for maintenance.

SW 90kgs
CW 79.5kgs
GW 72ish kgs.

littleburn · 29/11/2024 19:01

@Vegemite123 it's frustrating isn't it? But really positive that we're emotionally able to cope with it and not self-sabotage this time👊👊👊

I've been reading the August and September threads for guidance on this as they'll have been there too. Someone linked to this article which is really helpful

Fizzleawayy · 29/11/2024 19:40

Just trying to do a little catch up so sorry if I miss anyone, I never mean too!

@TheOtherSide21 well done, 3 stone is amazing!

@Caffeineneedednow well done! Do an extra long jig for how far you have come!

For everyone that seems to have hit a plateau… I hope it gets moving again soon.. sometimes I think it’s our bodies way of catching up but even if it isn’t then hooray for still being on the wagon! Thats one of the toughest things to still be ‘good’ when you are not seeing the number drop on the scales.

@littleburn I also go and read the July/August threads to see how people are getting on that are further in their journeys. I did start reading the May one possibly but it seemed like a couple of people in their were struggling with coming off the jabs.

Hopefully our October thread will still be really active in 6 months time! I find it a huge help as only a few people know about the jabs in real life.
Otherwise I will just keep posting to myself on here 😂😂😂
