@CatTraveler I can't help you with prunes but if you aren't already taking them then I highly recommend taking a probiotic to help with the digestive side of things. They will help with both extremes of the side effects!

@CatTraveler I love Tesco soft prunes and happily munch on them on their own. If I want a guaranteed result I tend to have a bowl of between 60g-90ishg. You can of course add them to porridge, museli etc. I also add inulin powder in my tea or coffee, which helps to keep things moving nicely😊

I've not posted for a while.

Everything has really slowed down for me and I feel like I've been "gaining and losing" what feels like the same 3 kilos for a month now.

But I've just double checked and in the last month I have lost 3.5 kilos so while things are slowing down I'm still heading in the right direction. I did also have THREE work Xmas parties with food & alcohol last week.

I've not had any chocolate or Xmas food outside of those parties though - not really tempted by that.

I'm getting through the next week one day at a time. I think post Xmas I will need to make more of an effort to plan meals better and food prep. I'm eating OK, but have lost my way a wee bit. Meals and prepping meals has no appeal and I've not made a big soup for a while so I need to make a bit more of an effort there and I think that will help. Suppression is fairly strong - I have lost all interest in food, until I get quite hungry.

I'm very lucky to have 2 weeks off over Xmas so plenty of time to get back on track with meal prep, and enjoy much hot yoga, sea swims and saunas.

I'm on 7.5mg now (soon to have my bonus dose & start the 2nd pen). I've been having side effects of a couple of days post jab being very tired. Also I get really cold late afternoon/early evening and then slowly warm up and stay warm - its a strange bone chill & feels a bit fluey. I will start taking the jab at night and hopefully I can sleep off much of the tiredness overnight.

SW 124kg
CW 103.4 kg
Loss to date 20.6kg

30ish more kg to go!!

I am impatient to get below 100kg.

I'm loving the hot yoga still and am going 6 days a week. Starting to feel stronger, more toned and more muscular.

Still absolutely loving my daily pomegranate.

Darlinghag · 19/12/2024 16:15

@RobinEllacotStrike 3.5kg is great!! I think the fatigue of it all does hit sometimes, its just…blah!

I caved and sorted scales out this week!! Being ill has suckeddd but it has boosted my loss lol!! I was aiming to be 16st by end of January, but am now at 16st 3.2!! Unreal!

my appetite is still shot completely, although I am managing to eat a little everyday and get enough in to recover. Weirdly, still repulsed by my fave sweet things - a ripple bar has sat on my coffee table untouched two nights in a row!!

thinking about christmas treats also doesnt really appeal either, its all very not something i am interested in, and I am finding it so so weird. While I have been great at having no food noise, i have not had complete disinterest in food in its entirety - i know its just temporary while ill, but it is so so odd feeling.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/12/2024 16:50

Oh @Darlinghag I hope you are on the mend and feeling better very soon.

I am making the Queens trifle to take on Christmas day (I'm spared from cooking Christmas dinner this year which is fantastic). The trifle has about 10 different parts to make so it feels very masterchef & I really enjoy making it (if not necessarily eating it this year). Provided I can source enough cream of course :)

And I will make something with pomegranates too of course.

WeAllHaveWings · 20/12/2024 09:19

Hope you feel better soon @Darlinghag , it is possibly covid? My boss had it recently, no cough just wiped out/off work for 2 weeks with it, then back part time/WFH for a week as still very fatigued. Take care of yourself and give yourself the time you need to recover.

Darlinghag · 20/12/2024 10:51

Thank you all. Possibly Covid, who knows! Its been running through my family the last fortnight. I am loads better than I have been though, and hopeful for a better week next week! I have been doing my best eating wise and making sure to drink lots.

I thought my jab might not have gone well with it, but I have been fine in that way, thank goodness.

alwaysscared · 20/12/2024 11:39

Morning all, not been on for a while so not managed to see any updates.
Hope everyone is well.
I have reached my Christmas goal of being under 100kg, 99.6kg as of this morning!
38.9lbs down, so close to 3 stone!

RobinEllacotStrike · 20/12/2024 12:04

that is amazing @alwaysscared - well done!

Jfw82 · 20/12/2024 13:12

Fantastic @alwaysscared ! Well done 👏

hellohellooo · 20/12/2024 13:33

3 stone down since sept

I am so happy I have started this journey

Some unpleasant side effects
Tiredness when I inject for a day or so

But my god

I was 19.10 and I just could not see myself ever not binge eating and also ever going below 19 stone

Now I hope for 4 stone from Jan to July if I am lucky

And I will try my best to keep every bit off

Well done all xxxxxxx

SilenceInside · 20/12/2024 13:37

@alwaysscared that's brilliant, so great to get to a goal and especially just before Christmas. I think we weigh about the same right now, I'm just hovering on the 100kg mark, hoping to be definitively under it at my next weigh in.

alwaysscared · 20/12/2024 13:59

@RobinEllacotStrike @Jfw82 thank you
@SilenceInside thanks, fingers crossed you will be below at next weigh in.

Im feeling sick a lot of the time at the moment, which is really hard as an emetophobe!
Have no interest in Christmas food, which is good, but I do kind of miss the excitement of having lovely, naughty food. I don't crave it at all, but do miss that feeling it gave me

NewoIkkin · 20/12/2024 17:33

Hi everyone, I’m just catching up with this thread as I’ve not been around for a couple
of months (life stuff, holiday stress, blah blah). It’s great to see everyone’s progress!

After starting in late June I finally hit my five stone loss last week. About one and a half to two stone more to go I think, to be around/just above the top end of a “normal” BMI. I’m currently loving being “only” overweight (rather than obese) for the first time in a decade, and I treated myself to a lovely size 16 dress to wear for Christmas. It fits, with room to spare!

I’m going to relax and enjoy my food and drink over the festive season, then in the new year I really need to start trying to build some muscle. I have been horribly lax with exercise and I’m much wobblier than I was six months ago 😳

Darlinghag · 21/12/2024 10:06

Well folks, consider this my two week weigh in as I skipped last week. Today I weigh 16st 2.1lb! Which is a loss of 6.9lbs in two weeks. For the record - i’ve been ill, this is NOT normal or typically wanted!

I wanted to hit 16st before the end of Jan but its clear I will do so before then!

I am a hair away from getting a BMI under 40 - which is exciting, and I am also just a few pounds away from getting under 100kg. All exciting times!!

Incredible !!!

I know some people talk about the bad sides to these injections

But

They have changed my life !!!

I literally could not budge past 19.10-19.12 for around three years

Three stone down and four to go

WeAllHaveWings · 21/12/2024 11:40

@NewoIkkin I'll join you in the 5st loss club today!

Last weigh in before Christmas 🎄for me. 4lb loss this week, which was only slightly surprising as suppression was much higher than I like and lasted the whole week.

Dose was the same, the only change was last week I injected a day late on Sunday instead of Saturday as I was out all day Saturday (nice 3 course meal), got home late on Saturday so left injecting to Sunday morning.

End of week - 26 (5 x 2.5mg, 21 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 16st 5lbs BMI 34.9
Losses (2024) - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2,3,3,1,4
Total loss - 5st 0lbs (70lbs), 23.4%
Next Target - Will decide after Christmas/New Year

It seems like only yesterday I started Mounjaro but it is 6 months today so having a little bit of reflection.......I was terrified to start MJ for all the usual reasons, and never thought I would be reaching 5st/70lbs/30kg loss in 6 months😁. Removing my initial huge loss (thanks to covid the same week) my losses average 2.4lb a week which I think isn't too high considering the high starting weight, but would like to see that closer to 1.5-2lbs/week next year to keep healthy. I now weigh 2lb less than my previous most successful weight loss attempt which I logged in MFP in 2019 and the lowest weight I've been in probably over 15 years and I am nowhere near ready to stop this amazing journey. It has been the best £££s I have ever spent.

I don't want that same very high suppression I had last week during Christmas week, and not be able to eat some of my £70 sirloin roast! So I am still considering what to do today as I am returning to my usual Saturday injection and it is only 6 days since my last one, therefore concentration still in body will be slightly higher today than normal. I was thinking maybe dropping to 3mg....🤔

@Darlinghag hope you are on the mend and recovered in time for Christmas x

Well done to all on who are on track for their Christmas/end of year targets and kudos to those who who are moving at a steadier pace but still here - staying motivated during times of slower progress takes incredible determination. Keep going - you are doing amazing! 💗

Snozzlemaid · 21/12/2024 12:47

I've reached a 5 stone loss this week too.
So wonderful to see others doing amazingly well as well.

At the start of the year I never would have believed I would lose this much by the end of the year.
It's transformed my life!

hellohellooo · 21/12/2024 12:48

Love love love reading these updates

I am so glad to have three stone gone

I know I can make it to 12 stone in the next year or so

Anley · 21/12/2024 16:12

I’m in disbelief. Had my first shot 7days ago (today was weigh in day and second shot), was away all week for a family celebration and came home to 8.2lbs less on the scale!!! I know it will slow down now but my god, I’m so happy to see that scale move downwards (wasn’t even sure it knew how to anymore!)

RobinEllacotStrike · 21/12/2024 16:48

That's a great start @Anley !! ⭐️

Bravo all the 5 stoners and 3 stoners. Amazing work.

GLP-1 Calculator

The GLP-1 plotter guys have created a new site called GLP-1 calculator where you can put in your doses and dates. A bit easier to use than the original GLP-1 plotter and it seems to save your previous inputs which is handy.

Arglefraster · 23/12/2024 10:45

I've just hit 10kg lost, this actually feels real
now! It's taken shy of 8 weeks so even with the drugs I'm a fairly slow loser but the difference is I can easily imagine doing this for a year.

I've also just had the first migraine in those 8 weeks (normally I get a couple a month) & it was so so mild/brief compared to normal. I assume this is due to the reduced inflammation? (I know migraines relate to blood sugar fluctuations in some people but mine are hormonal &/or postural)

I'm off to stick two 5kg dumbbells in a rucksack 🤣

WafflingDreamer · 24/12/2024 06:57

Jab 12 done yesterday so far;
3x2.5mg
5x3.75mg
4x5mg

Weigh in number 11
SW 21st 9lb
CW 19st 8lb
GW 11st 13lb
1lb off this week
losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1
So a total of 29lbs/2st 1lb

I'm already finding it quite tough with all the extra food around and doing a lot less exercise than I do when the kids are at school. I'm not hungry but the odd mince pie, chocolate, crisps, hot chocolate have been sneaking in.
