That’s annoying about Oushk, I got my pen from them less than a week ago and it came in a plain bag!

Day 3 over here for me and the fatigue is unreal- I have CFS so used to being fatigued but this feels different and much sleepier sort of fatigue, a bit like being first trimester pregnant! Have also had a headache off and on all day, been drinking loads of water but not helping unfortunately.

Darlinghag · 25/01/2025 22:06

I know nothing about them, but it looks like they are trying to fit their weightloss meds into a wellness and beauty category, by feminising and creating such a brand look with packaging. I don’t like it - to me it downgrades mounjaro into the same category as a hair gummy vitamin or something. While I don’t want to gatekeep this tool ever, it feels like its designed to appeal to young people, who while legally adult, might not be ready for it, or not understand it that it’s not a first choice option for weightloss.

I feel it should be treated as it is, a serious prescription medication. I’d been considering Oushk as a future prescriber due to their maintenance plans, but this puts me right off!

Bibulous · 25/01/2025 23:25

It's been a few weeks since I checked in but I've been steadily losing 1-2lbs a week. I'm now at week 15 and have just passed the 50lbs lost milestone. I was on 5mg but I've noticed over the last couple of weeks that the food noise was coming back so I went up to 6mg and that's definitely helped. I'm due another prescription soon so I think I'll go for 7.5mg but I'll count clicks for a while and only go up when I absolutely need to.

Nobody's said anything about me looking different but I'm ok with that. I've still got a lot to lose so it's probably not that noticeable to other people. What counts is that I have definitely noticed the difference. My blood pressure is lower! My cheekbones are coming back! I'm seeing veins on the backs of my hands! Most importantly, I need to get some smaller jeans!

gimmemounjaro · 26/01/2025 08:15

Weigh day for me, a whopping 0.2lbs down this week 🤩

I think I may have hit a plateau (have lost 21% of starting weight), so it will be interesting to see if I can maintain for a few weeks while the weight loss so far settles and my body resets 🤞

I have more or less stopped exercising lately, although I don't think I was ever doing enough for that to be the 'problem'. It can't help though. I just hate running when it's so cold, but will try to get a good walk in every day and get back to strength training too.

But - if that's the end of weight loss for me, I'm happy as I am, 52lbs down and size 12-14. Officially I have 1.5 stone left to get to a healthy BMI so that would be nice, but not essential. I'll give it a few more weeks on MJ, maybe two more pens, and see what happens. Then I am thinking I could spend the money on a gym membership and some hot yoga instead, and still be quids in 🧘‍♀️

Timetofindme · 26/01/2025 11:34

@WeAllHaveWings didn't realise they have an FB group (and a fan club?!). I just went with them as they had a good deal on and have been reading re maintenance and thought it might be easier to swop and stick before my bmi goes below 30. Planning too far ahead maybe 😂 fingers crossed they revert to previous packaging then!

Timetofindme · 26/01/2025 11:40

@gimmemounjaro that's an amazing loss, well done (the 21% just to be clear in case it comes across wrongly!). I've had weeks where ive lost 0.2/0.4lb and then a bigger loss the week after. Had your loss slowed / plateaued over a few weeks or just this week?

Thank you! I'm pretty chuffed, I must say. I've been losing about half what I've been used to for about the last 4 weeks. I was fine over Christmas - lost 7.9lbs in December - but since then everything has slowed down. So instead of ~7lbs over 4 weeks, this time I have lost 3.3lbs in 4 weeks. I haven't changed what I'm eating I don't think, maybe I'll start tracking calories again just in case. I'd probably benefit from fewer carbs and more protein but then again wouldn't we all 🙂

I think a little bit of exercise might help to get things going too, and I need to get back into that anyway as my goals are more health and fitness related than weight, but I'm ok here for now. It's kind of nice to consolidate and spend some time wearing the clothes that currently fit me! (I have stopped buying nice things in the next size down on Vinted though, just in case I never fit into them! 🤦‍♀️)

Timetofindme · 26/01/2025 12:14

@gimmemounjaro that's still only a smidge under a pound a week. Yep the MJ has reduced my ability to eat a boatload of pasta but I still have to actively prioritise protein! Oddly it seems to have reduced my sweet things cravings and it's much easier to eat carby salty things than sweet.

I have colleagues who love hot yoga - I'm not good at heat so think it would be a disaster for me 😂

My motivation is a mix of weight and health and it's been a lovely NSV to realise my average walking speed up mountains is increasing as the weight is coming off!

Snozzlemaid · 26/01/2025 12:16

I'm in the 12's!

12st 13lbs this morning.

SW 18st 6lbs, at the end of May.

I've not been this weight since I had my daughter 23 years ago. I never in a million years believed I could do this and stick at it for so long. It would be so tedious and difficult if it wasn't for MJ.

I love the new me, who doesn't avoid doing things because of my weight and isn't consumed by thoughts about food.

Looking forward to losing another couple of stones to get to a healthy BMI hopefully.

RobinEllacotStrike · 26/01/2025 12:49

@gimmie I've been doing daily hot yoga since mid November & I love it.

I swapped my gym membership for Hotpod membership & haven't looked back.

It really great for toning, strength & flexibility, mega sweating. It build muscle. It relaxes. I look forward to it daily. No gym has ever had that effect on me 🥳

🧘‍♂️💪🏽💜

gimmemounjaro · 26/01/2025 12:52

Wow @Snozzlemaid that is epic, well done. The 12s are my next big milestone too so I hope to join you there in a few weeks🤞

Ooh, mountains are on my list for this year @Timetofindme
I live in Wales and have never been up Snowdon so I'm going to work my way up to it over the next few months 💪
I have always hated walking uphill but love the challenge now and the feeling of my legs working.

gimmemounjaro · 26/01/2025 13:01

I love it too @RobinEllacotStrike - I used to go all the time before Covid and then stopped in lockdown and never went back. Completely agree it's just lovely in every way.

Prices have gone up a bit 😰
But the off peak passes are still ok. I could get one of those and a membership of my local leisure centre, nothing fancy but gym and pool, and still save £100 pm on the cost of MJ! I fancy a mix of running, swimming, gym and yoga with the odd bike ride chucked in. And then some paddle boarding in the summer. And I want to try climbing if I can persuade one of the DC to come with me. I'm beginning to feel like exercise is the key to happiness instead of eating, so taking that as a win.

Timetofindme · 26/01/2025 14:34

@Snozzlemaid awesome! Well done, that must be an awesome feeling!

sounds like a fabulous and fun plan!!

I was looking at a local sailing (dingy) course this spring but I am visiting my family in NZ for 3 weeks right in the middle of spring. Hopefully they will run another into/lean to sail course in the summer.

Its a horrible day here today (probaly in most of the UK too). Its my yoga rest day and I am off to TWO very gentle yoga classes in the hotpod. So a rest from dynamic yoga and a beautiful 2.5 hours in the warm dark snuggly hotpod while the worls storms around us. Its become my fav time of the week

Maybe fan club isn't the right word. Groupies would maybe be a better description 🤣 There are around 7-8 of them that are very prominent, are self nominated hall monitors and go around correcting everyone with their "friendly reminders" and defend Oushk from even the slightest criticism (even when blatantly justified - go and read the packaging thread on there 🙈). They call everyone Oushkers (no kidding!). Heaven help you if you ever suggest anything slightly off prescription or give something they deem as "medical advice" - you must email Oushk, not discuss!

They would faint if they read some of the MN posts 🤣

I swear they have shrines of overpriced "Oushk" emblazoned water bottles and pen cases (in different pretty colours) they worship alongside pictures of Hira the goddess. Q&A sessions always have someone saying how gorgeous her hair is 🤣

Anyway I get past it and still use them for the delivery options which have been reliable, and potentially future maintenance options!

Timetofindme · 26/01/2025 18:56

@WeAllHaveWings 😂😂😂 that sounds quite hilariously bonkers! Ultimately they're an online pharmacy, not sure it needs groupies 🤣🤣🤣 I'll stick to this thread and stay away from it hahaha

Interested to see what happens with the packaging but will probably order from them again if they have a good deal on (without the medexpress code frenzy!).

gimmemounjaro · 26/01/2025 19:00

That Oushk group sounds like something you might see on The League of Gentlemen. And/or Victoria Wood 😂

Arglefraster · 26/01/2025 19:03

Grateful for the confirmation that staying off Facebook is wise 🤣

I always see the branded water bottles when I'm ordering & think it's weird they stock them when no one would ever order one 😵‍💫🤣

Yes, I can’t imagine wanting to advertise to the world for them with my water bottle!

No Facebook here either, I’m trying to stay off mounjaro content other than a bit of mumsnet, I really don’t want to fall into an obsessive place which is definitely a bit of a tendency for me

QueenOfHiraeth · 26/01/2025 19:45

Agree the Oushk thing is bonkers! They worship Hira and seem to think she is sacrificing herself for them with no awareness of how much profit there is in these businesses so the gifts will be a drop in the ocean. Interesting that Hira is also Superintendent Pharmacist for Curate as well as owning Oushk, I thought she stepped back from Curate when they were reprimanded by the GPhC last year but it seems not.

On a different note, exercise is a bit of a nightmare for me. I've never enjoyed it, in fact I hate it and will do anything I can to get out of it so I know I'll find excuses not to go to a gym and find it hard to even make myself go for walks or do stuff at home.

It's ridiculous as I have plenty of time so can't use that excuse.
I keep trying to find something to enthuse me or a friend to do something with and keep me on track but not managed either yet!

gimmemounjaro · 26/01/2025 19:55

Exercise is such a pain, it's so hard to find something that works and then do it consistently. I really want to be the kind of person who exercises though, that's partly why I do it. Plus I have an older, obese sister who is struggling with all kinds of health and mobility issues these days, and it's like looking into the future. A very scary future that I will do anything to stave off, even exercise 😂
