@Doggymummar yes, I guess that's how I need to look at it
@BingoWingsOverScotland haha, yes they seem too. Unfortunately my son has gone down hill massively, won't leave his bed. Needs both me and my husband here but doesn't want anyone to talk. Me and DH are communicating via text.
My son has ARFID, and he is literally living on a couple of bags of crisps a day, and a bite of an apple 😞

One advantage, if you can call it that, 🤦🏻‍♀️ of high BMI is I got a covid vaccination along with my annual flu jab today. Hopefully it's my last covid vac as next year I won't be eligible and I will be healthier and not to need it!

For all of you who make your own soup, do you have a favourite recipe? If so would you mind sharing? I'm always in need of more inspiration.

Sorry I'm late to this but this is one of my favourites which has plenty of protein

Also really like Jamie Oliver's cauliflower cheese soup

Weigh in and jab day, 1.5lbs lost. I'm frustrated by how slow it is but at least it's going in the right direction.
31.6lbs/14.4kg down since 6/9/24
SW 258.5lbs
CW 226.9lbs
GW 🤷‍♀️

I know you’re having a tough time at the moment @alwaysscared but this is a fantastic loss, more than 2.5lb a week average. Just keep going and you’ll get there!

Darlinghag · 30/11/2024 08:47

Happy Saturday folks!

A 1lb loss for me this week. Although, I was 1lb lighter on Wednesday, but I always find I show a gain when I am away from work and have an irregular eating pattern (even with my deficit!) and drink less water than normal.

I’ve got three doses left in my pen, but going to order the next next week in case of Christmas mail disasters! I am also going to go for 7.5mg again, making that the third pen. Its definitely not quite as strong as previously, but still enough that I am losing and not losing the willpower battle. It may be the pen after (which will be started in mid/late Jan) will need to be 10mg.

Hope everyone is having a good week! i have a family dinner today, so hopefully going to make good choices!

7th weigh in this morning and have lost half a pound taking me to 13 lbs in total. 8th jab this morning (5 x 2.5 and 3 x 5 mg and have ordered my next pen at 7.5 mg).
Happy with my half a pound as went to a bottomless brunch yesterday. Was good food wise, chose the all day breakfast, but you just have to get your moneys worth and the gin was flowing freely!!!!! No weird side effects from MJ and booze, was normal drunk and fine-ish this morning!!!

Bibulous · 30/11/2024 11:28

End of week 6, first week of the full 5mg dose. I've lost 4lbs since last Saturday which is probably because I've had a horrible cold and been living off of soup and tea. I'm feeling better now so I'm using the weekend batch cooking some more balanced meals.

This makes a total loss of 2 stone! My BMI has gone down from 53.6 when I started to 49.6 today! I've still got a very long way to go but my clothes are feeling looser and I've gone down a notch on my belt.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 30/11/2024 14:54

I had the night of side effect hell again last night (still on 2.5mg - hadn't done anything differently) but I'm back down to 22st 7lb after yo-yoing a bit last week. This one does seem to have hit me hard, plus my period and a cold the kids have given me is starting so I feel craptacular.

WeAllHaveWings · 30/11/2024 15:03

Happy Saturday weigh in, lost 3lbs, and 3 mini milestones all coming at once this week! Hit 20% of my total weight lost, hit over 60lbs lost and the scales are now starting with a 16!

Cheered me up as feeling tired and all sore today - two sore arms from yesterdays flu and covid jags, not good for a side sleeper! Sore legs because after reading a post about flat bums I asked ds to show me how to do squats properly - I did about 20 (wrong according to ds!) and it is agony both sitting down and standing up today! 🤣

End of week - 23 (5 x 2.5mg, 18 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 16st 13lbs BMI 35.5
Losses - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2,3
Total loss - 4st 6lbs (62lbs), 20.7%
Next Target - 16st 9lbs / BMI < 35 by Christmas🎄(3 weeks, 4lbs to go!)

Well done on your first 2st lost @Bibulous and everyone who has hit milestones this week 🎉

For everyone whose progress feels slower (remember steady loss is often the most sustainable), the most important part is it is progress. Every step forward, no matter the speed, is progress, staying committed is what really matters. Well done and do know we understand the determination that is needed to keeping walking that path and it really does inspires every single person - you are doing amazing! 🎉🎉🎉

Keep on walking!

alltablenochairs · 01/12/2024 19:28

My own contribution to the soup recipes.

Quick and easy chicken, lentil and veg soup.

1 of those casserole packs of veg (reduced to 20p in Morrisons tonight)
About a handful of chicken cooked or 1-2 raw chicken breasts
Half a cup of red lentils- I used a plastic IKEA kids cup
Stock. Enough to cover thr chicken, veg and lentils. Add more if you like a thinner soup.
Half a head decidedly bendy broccoli, stalks and all.

This got blasted for 15 mins in my instant pot, blended and then thinned down a bit more as my teen doesn't like thick soups. You could also simmer it on rhe hob and then blend it.

Both my kids ate this and had seconds. The youngest can be a bit funny about textures, for example he hates cooked carrots.

In 15 weeks that is a great weight loss @InfoSecInTheCity

NewbieMJ · 02/12/2024 09:42

Well done everyone - great losses!

Week 13 here, and I have reached the 2 stone mark! Woo hoo, delighted.

SW: 18 stone 11 (263 lbs)
CW: 16 stone 11 (235 lbs)

Staying on 7.5mg. Going to try the bonus dose of my first 7.5mg pen today, then next week onto the new one. Seem to be gathering a bit of momentum again which feels great.

Hoping for a great week for us all.

alltablenochairs · 02/12/2024 09:48

Another 1.1kg lost this week which brings me closer to my first target of 113kg. This surprises me as I went away with DH last week and have also had 2 takeaways in a week (it was my birthday, this wouldn't normally happen!). What didn't surprise me though is how much my portion sizes have shrunk. I'm eating probably about a third of what I would have done and also not really eating stuff like bread e.t.c that fills me up.

Dress progress: still a case of no, just no.

RobinEllacotStrike · 02/12/2024 10:58

I'm been strangely exhausted all weekend - wondering if this could be a symptom/side effect of the MJ? I'm took my 3rd 7.5mg on friday.

My engery levels do fluctuate and I do have weeks where I have much less energy but this deep tiredness is new. I did go out twice over the weekend and had a few drinks for the first time in a while so it could be that I guess.

Slimwannabe · 02/12/2024 11:13

Hello all, I hope that you don't mind me joining! Took my first 2.5mg dose last night, currently 19st7lb, oping to get down to 11st (a woman can dream!)

RobinEllacotStrike · 02/12/2024 11:18

welcome @Slimwannabe

WeAllHaveWings · 02/12/2024 11:31

Welcome @Slimwannabe ! You have to dream before your dreams can come true. Good luck!

Well done everyone on their Monday losses!

@InfoSecInTheCity I had my first no loss week a couple of weeks ago. It is a bummer, but your losses to date are so great I'm sure it is just a natural blip!

InfoSecInTheCity · 02/12/2024 11:45

Thanks @WeAllHaveWings and @Pumpkinforever I'm not too bothered about a stagnant week, I know I had a busy weekend with lots of outings and very little water so am hydrating today and tomorrow.

The great thing about MJ is that I know I stayed below my calorie goals and without much in the way of effort or willpower so while the scales aren't showing it, I know I've not eaten enough to increase my fat stores.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 02/12/2024 18:02

Good to read that so many people are steadily losing weight!

Start of week 8 today so I had my 8th 2.5mg jab this morning. I am 1½ stone down. That's 21lbs. Or 9.5kg. I just can't believe I'm typing these figures about myself!! Still a long, long way to go but I keep counting the positives.

I'm thinking about ordering a 5mg pen next time but keeping on the 2.5mg dose. I'm just thinking that at some point it's probably going to start being less effective and sod's law says that is bound to be on the first dose of a new pen so I'll have a long old month until I can get more. I must get that done tomorrow before the Christmas postal madness starts.

alltablenochairs · 02/12/2024 22:06

@RobinEllacotStrike

Disclaimer I have severe ME so have very limited energy at the best of times.

However I've noticed a pattern that on day 2-4 (day 1= MJ day) my energy levels are much, much less than what's normal for me. I'm sure I have read somewhere that MJ can affect fatigue levels but I can't remember where I saw it.

alltablenochairs · 02/12/2024 22:10

@Slimwannabe hello and welcome. Or good luck. As for dreaming- well life would be boring if we didn't have dreams!

Arglefraster · 02/12/2024 23:43

Hi @Slimwannabe 👋
@RobinEllacotStrike the fatigue is my main side effect - feels like first trimester fatigue for days 2,3&sometimes 4.

Great to see everyone doing so well.

I'm not doing great & feeing very frustrated. I seem to have lost 6kg in first 3 weeks but have basically sts for the next two weeks. Now obviously 6kg in 5 weeks is fabulous (although concerned that with so much to lose I should be losing more at this point) but the not losing is freaking me out - my cals /food are the same. Even Happy scale that most reassuring of apps has now admitted my weight Trend is upward 😭

I'm having a bit (lot) of wobble about my alopecia & it's all tied up with weight in my head because I can't fix the hair so I have to fix the fat so I am well aware I am probably over reacting ...

I've been very focused on getting enough protein & fibre but now wondering if I should just try to get the calories down? Nutracheck says my average is 1265cals/day. Again I worry about getting them too low leaving me nowhere to go...6kg is less than 10% of what I have to lose.

I suspect I really just need to stay the course & find some patience & not get in a state but the calm is clearly eluding me!

sorry to witter on! It is genuinely cheering to see it working for people so I very much hope I'm not doing the reverse by posting!

NearlyNewHip · 03/12/2024 07:35

Nuts!! Someone, somewhere suggested a small portion of nuts before bed to help with sleeping. All my adult life I was told nuts are the devil's food (SW, WW.....) but thought I'd try some. Had 25g of mixed nuts last night. God knows if they helped with sleep, Mondays and Tuesdays are my 'tired/completely knackered' days after injecting on a Friday night, but they fill you up!! And they're really nice!! Still feel completely happy hunger wise this morning and will delay breakfast til I get to work. All these new, nice things to eat and try when you stop thinking the SW/WW way!!!!!!
