@owlyboo I have three big boxes of too-small clothes in the loft from when we moved in 2020. No idea what's in there or what state it's in but one of my milestones coming up is to finally try them all on again when I'm another half stone down.

FlappingMadly · 08/11/2024 17:15

I read and appreciate all of you so please don’t be offended if I miss you out. I’m just rubbish at scrolling back and forth.

Sympathy @SilverSprings510. I’m dreading getting them. Wishing you a most excellent 💩

@4pink1blue WOW! BIG difference! You must be over the moon!

@Motnight i hear you. Hugs. Are you sure there’s no difference? Are you measuring yourself? I’ve got a lot to lose but I do feel mounjaro will get me there. Even a 5% loss makes a big difference metabolically. 2 stones is epic!! 💃💃💃

That’s a great problem to have @owlyboo and yes, you’re all psychic 🤣

That’s a great whoosh @Timetochange24 !

@pippapumpkin wow, 2.5 is fantastic!
Great NSV of your MIL noticing.

FlappingMadly · 08/11/2024 17:17

I saw the article but it’s rather inflammatory. No context and need inquest details. If she was on 2.5 after 2 weeks it seems a bit odd. Sad for her family.

weaseleyes · 08/11/2024 17:24

@Motnight sorry to hear you're finding it all a bit overwhelming. I know what you mean. I've still got about another 2.5 stone to go and it feels like I've been going for so long and it will only get harder. I don't know that I look much better, and even when I reach goal weight I'll be an ageing flabby version of when I was this weight years previously.

All the positive things we can say to counter this are true. Plodding on a pound or two at a time will get us there. You are already so much healthier, even if you don't look terribly different. I bet you can feel a few benefits - do you move a little more? Feel less bunched up round the middle?

The other thing is, so what's the alternative? You could give up and start overeating again and that 2 stone will be back by January, probably plus a few more pounds driven by the self-loathing we all feel when we fail again. And then you'll still know that one day you'll have to start again. At this point you'll be longing to be where you are now! Hang on in there, don't put yourself through that, you can do it.

owlyboo · 08/11/2024 17:29

@Motnight you're going in the right direction! Keep going!!

@Timetochange24 I wish I had kept it. I was post divorce, moving to a new place with the kids alone and (probably depressed!!) so I think I just thought 'I will always be fat what's the point in taking them with me' enjoy your treasure when you delve in!!

@4pink1blue you look fab!

In case it helps, I emailed chemist4u to enquire about maintenance here's their response.

@owlyboo in that case I think post-MJ you deserve some new clothes to continue your glow up.

@weaseleyes I like that way of thinking about it. I also keep telling myself that even if I don't lose another gram, losing what I've lost already is a big achievement and will improve my health.

owlyboo · 08/11/2024 18:51

Thanks @Timetochange24 ! I definitely feel like these last few months I've definitely found 'me' again!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2024 20:07

@Motnight I still have another 3 + stone to go

We are in it for a long haul

Think how far you have come

I read the article. Obviously it's scary to begin with but I feel there's more to it?

owlyboo · 08/11/2024 20:54

Also awful for her friends and family

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2024 21:17

She could have had gallstones or pancreas issues due to her weight anyway

Obv septic isn't good

I don't think tho the mild dose would have had that effect on her

If she felt fine the first week and no issues then not convinced the 2nd jab was the issue

I R.E.M. my first week and headache and nausea and tiredness

But either way they will never know why and sad a woman has died

Equally many people die a day on various medications

OP posts:
NippyCrab · 08/11/2024 21:23

With regards to the lady that died, there was a MN member on the continuing mounjaro thread, Jimmyneutronsforehead and her husband was very ill and also had pancreas issues and had to come off MJ. If i remember correctly there was also other health conditions that contributed but I'm not sure. Luckily her husband recovered but was still suffering. Ive not been on the thread for a while.

lookathatbookcase · 08/11/2024 21:48

Omg just found you all again - thought it had been a bit quiet.

My shaker came. Actually much better then my blender

Has a little metal springy thing and mixed it up well

Still seems to have a weird like powdered taste to it - maybe my brand

It's not like drinking squash iyswim

But happy to have one a day to get protein up

Bargain at £2.99

Wow some amazing losses well done team August!

I’ve just had a look at that article. Scary. It would be enough to put me off starting I think (if I hadn’t already started). Very sad for the family involved.

Good day for me today. Have eaten. Was nauseous first thing but that was short-lived, and have managed just over 1,000 calories today. Suppression feels lower today. Not sure if lower suppression allowed me to eat more, or if eating more has kicked the nausea and suppression into touch. Either way, it all feels a bit healthier.

Really must sort my clothes out this weekend, as I’m starting to look like I’m wearing shapeless sacks. Might stick it all on Vinted if I have the patience, although none of my clothes were fancy or expensive to begin with so they might end up in the charity bag instead.

AdeloreSmore · 08/11/2024 22:57

The size 16 jeans I bought on vinted actually fit!! I was getting them in ready, but they bloody fit! I also wonder if any of you beauties sold them to me on Vinted😆

Redlightbulb · 08/11/2024 23:12

@Motnight
I feel you.
I am on week 13 & haven't quite lost 2 stone.
About 1 stone 11 lb & have 7 stone to go!
That it is still a decent loss per week.
Just got to keep chipping away at it.
I have seen some peeps on TikTok lose a stone a month and get to goal in like 5 months.
But they are hardly eating anything. I wouldn't want to be like that.
Just received my 2nd pen of 7.5.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2024 23:19

@ChunkyMunky great you managed more calories

@AdeloreSmore yah for NSV. Def wasn't me selling that size lol

@Redlightbulb it's still a good loss and similar to me if you don't count the stone before via sw

Reading some of the mj threads about on mn esp the food one is very enlightening and what little some eat

I've said before I eat 3 meals a day. Sometimes rare , I don't eat it all but I know my size of portion is ok since been weighing what I thought was right and then logging it

So less calories a day via smaller portions - No snacks - not a lot of bread now is equalling a weight loss for me

So hopefully when I taper off I will continue

Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my post yesterday, I am really grateful for all the understanding, advice and support shown. I will keep on keeping on, I have no choice. Very happy that these threads are so kind and supportive and realistic as well.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday 🙂

owlyboo · 09/11/2024 10:50

Happy Saturday!

Weigh day for me...2lbs off! That makes it 44lb total (9lb pre MJ)

Have a lovely weekend all!
