Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

@dandeliondaisy those certainly all sound like MJ reactions. I'd probably be most worried about the reactions at the site, but the others are awful too. I'd talk to your provider and consider stopping tbh.

I've had bad gastric reactions twice (vomiting) and they've settled again quickly and I've kept going.

QueenOfHiraeth · 03/02/2025 14:16

@dandeliondaisy Just a couple of things regarding the red patches at injection site. Firstly, are you wiping your skin with an alcohol swab? If yes, then please stop. Clinical evidence shows reactions are more likely to be to swabbing than to injecting and it really isn't needed with subcut injections. The NHS now only swabs for IV etc and the manufacturer does not recommend it.
If you are not swabbing, it is worth talking to your provider, some have been supplying a slightly longer 6mm needle to see if injecting it slightly deeper reduces this effect.
Agree sulphur burps often relate to type of food so worth keeping a food diary.

dandeliondaisy · 03/02/2025 23:37

Thank you for your replies. I am interested that others have not reported such wild skin reactions, I thought it might be normal (based on zero research)!! I probably do need to contact Voy and get some advice because the itching hot skin is almost unbearable for 48 hours and takes a good few days to reduce. Interesting about the slightly longer needle, do you know how this may make a difference to skin reactions?

Choux · 03/02/2025 23:47

@dandeliondaisy I have had skin reactions from my injection site and I never swabbed my skin so that wasn't a cause of the irritation.

It started when I got to about 7.5mg and got worse as I went up the doses to 15mg. The marks were probably about half the size of my palm and hot. And itchy for a few days before slowly fading. I could pick out the last three or four injection sites on my thighs as they took so long to fade.

I am now on 10mg and have had to start injecting into my stomach as (get this!) I no longer have enough fat on my legs to inject into them. The red mark is now the size of a penny and less angry and itchy.

A longer needle will put the dose further away from your skin which should lessen the skin reaction. Or perhaps try your stomach if you are using your leg. If it's bad an antihistamine might help too?

QueenOfHiraeth · 04/02/2025 14:22

@dandeliondaisy I think the longer needle things was just that the drug would be further inside so not as close to the skin.
As @Choux suggested you could try an antihistamine or even a cream like Anthisan (usually used for insect bites)

Not been on this thread for a while. I stopped taking Mounjaro about 5-6 weeks ago and I had titrated back down to 2.5mg from 5mg for the 6 weeks previously. I've completely maintained my weight in that time, in fact a smidge lower but the noise and the hunger are always there (as they were pre-MJ, not really vastly increased or anything).

Anyway, I've recently realised I would still like to lose a bit more weight. My BMI is 24.2 and while I don't to lose too much, I'd be happy to get that nearer to 23 (no lower, I can't maintain a lower weight than that I am sure).

So I've just reordered to start again however I only intend to use 2.5mg and I am wondering about micro-dosing or space out doses - I've seen some people say they take it every 10 days instead. Anyone had any experience of this?

I still intend to come off it completely at some point but I want this final push - I am finding I can probably maintain (with a lot of effort and willpower) but struggling to lose anything significant.

Hoping MedExpress approve my reorder now!

diian · 04/02/2025 20:38

It will be interesting if Medexpress approve your reorder. They did not allow me to reorder after 8 weeks.

I was not impressed with them. Back in September, I ordered a 7.5mg pen and was sent a 5mg pen that was signed off by two pharmacists as being 7.5mg on their prescription label when the box clearly showed it was a 5mg pen.

SnacklessWonder · 04/02/2025 21:23

Yeah we shall see - they've been badgering me with emails and texts for the past few weeks to reorder. I will report back.

SnacklessWonder · 04/02/2025 21:28

Also when I asked them about maintenance or restarting, back in November, they said

"You are correct. It is our policy to restart treatment if there is a gap of 12 weeks use. We would also not restart treatment if your BMI is below the licensed threshold. We appreciate this might not be what you want to hear, but it is designed for your safety."

(They meant the 23.5 BMI threshold)

So I waited with baited breath - they are very inconsistent. My friend was told no but she suspects it's because she had a large amount of credit!

dandeliondaisy · 04/02/2025 22:30

Hi thanks everyone, interestingly the sulphur burps passed after 24 hours. I will report on what Voy say about the horrendous skin reaction. It's interesting that yours has reduced @Choux and very jealous on no fat on the thigh!

SnacklessWonder · 05/02/2025 10:58

MedExpress have asked for new photos and ID so I've sent them and let's see what happens.

@dandeliondaisy I've never had sulphur burps once!

PermanentTemporary · 05/02/2025 11:02

About to increase to 12.5. I'm 2.5 kg loss away from moving from obese to overweight. I don't have a single painful joint today.

Woohoo to the no joint pain.

I notice that from jab day to about day 5 I have very minimal joint pain if any then about day 6 and 7 after the peak the pain comes flooding back.

I'm really hoping that the weight loss improves things, but if the damage is done to my joints already so be it. Just the consequences of my actions of overeating.

Your post gives me hope though.

Hi everyone, thanks for everyone's suppprt with the side effects on the skin reaction and sulphur burps. I took my final 5mg on Tuesday and was up vomiting all night on Wednesday, utterly horrendous. Anyone else had this? All of eaten all day was avocado on one slice of sourdough! Help! Should i quit?

Choux · 07/02/2025 07:56

@dandeliondaisy why did you eat so little? Was it because your appetite was too suppressed or you felt ill or are you trying to not eat even when hungry to maximize the weight loss?

If your appetite suppression is too strong and you are getting side effects maybe 5mg is too strong a dose for you? Did you lose well on 2.5mg? Some people stick to 2.5mg for months and lose well on it. You don't have to go up the doses if you don't need to.

If you were feeling ill then here's a list of tips for relieving side effects. A healthy diet should involve eating regularly so try to eat little and often.

GlueNoGlue · 07/02/2025 07:59

@dandeliondaisy the less I eat, the worse I feel after injecting. It’s hard but try and force yourself to eat something, even if it’s not particularly healthy!

In my last stint I did sometimes accidentally go 10 days because if I am anything it is woefully inconsistent.

Some weeks the hunger pangs came back and others it didn't. I'm much more consistent this time around though.

I think the issue with such a low dose is that it will definitely not still be in your system by the next dose 10 days later so it's not getting the opportunity to gradually build up.

Apologies if this has already been covered but I've just ordered my next pen (repeat prescription on 7.5mg) from Oushk and they've altered the questionnaire with more searching questions.
No bad thing...

I saw a young woman on TikTok complaining that she had tried to place a first order with MedExpress and was booted off because of previous bariatric surgery, she then tried another provider who rejected her and would not disclose why. People explained this was so she couldn't then change answers to apply for it but suggested it was probably history of gallstones, she then applied to a third supplier who accepted her without question. I don't know if she disclosed the gallstones or not but it does bear out that the system is f**ked

I was really surprised when DP discharged himself from NHS weight loss services that they then chased him down to be referred to oviva for ozempic given his very recent history.

I hope if private suppliers are expected to tighten their belts that the NICE guidelines also follow suit to care for patients with pancreas and gallbladder issues.

@Choux @GlueNoGlue I want to eat desperately so I feel like it isn't doing the suppressant side as well as it could, however when I do eat I feel so physically unwell that I now have developed an innate fear of eating. Not sure it's meant to do thatHmm i had a plain ham sandwich yesterday, no butter, thin brown bread, a cup of tea and one of those tiny gingerbread men, for lunch. I was so so so unwell afterwards, the bile was shooting up into my mouth after 2 hours, and was crippled over the toilet all evening, then projectile diarrhoea lasting a few hours. Could not drink a mouthful after 2pm and woke up feeling better as my tummy was empty. It's honestly been dire. I cannot wait to get it out my system. Would rather be fat 100x over than experience this another day. Shock

dandeliondaisy · 10/02/2025 16:25

(So eating more than 600 cals is impossible and then it all comes back up anyway!)

I'm one of those who gets vivid dreams for a night or two after my weekly jab. Last night I actually dreamt about giving myself an injection but after doing it I was distracted and bent the needle. When I tried to remove it the pen started to smoke and after a few minutes blew up. 😮You lot be careful with those pens and needles.
