Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

@Jimmyneutronsforehead im thinking of a tattoo when I’m at my next goal. I got one when my son was a baby and it hurt so much I’ve never done one for my daughter. I want one somewhere softer (first tattoo=2 hours on my foot? Bad idea). I didn’t want to get it somewhere that would be affected by my weight loss though

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 25/01/2025 12:42

@GlueNoGlue I have no tattoos but I've always wanted one.

I've done a lot of time and research into what I want and who I want it done by but sadly I live in Yorkshire and they're either in Brighton or Edinburgh. I can't drive and DSs needs make it hard to find someone willing to have him for a weekend journey.

I mentally shake my fist that there seems to be a distinct lack of tattoo artists doing the style of tattoo I want to the quality I want locally. When I was school aged it seemed like at least 50% of my peers were into tattooing eachother with sketchily purchased tattoo equipment and were convinced they'd be the next big thing. Often wonder where they are now.

GlueNoGlue · 25/01/2025 17:17

I’m also in Yorkshire. My friend did mine (she’s a professional tattoo artist with her own shop!). It’s not the style I would have chosen, but it’s the style she is very good at and I love that she did it as much as I love the tattoo

Since my dose yesterday I’ve had the worse upset stomach. I do suffer from IBS but it’s amazing since being on MJ, if anything I’ve had constipation. I’m wondering if I gave myself a bigger dose by using the insulin needle for the bonus jab because stupid me didn’t pay attention to the measurements. All I’ve eaten today is a bowl of cereal, I literally can’t manage anything.

Seeing as I’ve had no side effects at all since August I should be grateful, but I’m feeling sorry for myself.

QueenOfHiraeth · 25/01/2025 19:54

@MelainesLaugh the liquid left after 4 doses is usually more than 0.6ml so it's best to measure it with the syringe before injecting. I have seen quite a few people say they got about 0.7ml

Have you taken any loperamide?
It always works quickly.

New MJ user here. Had my first jab on Friday and have already lost 2lbs so delighted.
Starting W 14 stone
Goal W 11 stone
I'm late fifties and am quite active but have slowly put on about 3 stone over the last 5-10 years which I just can't shift. Like many other posters - I know all the weight loss theory but I stress eat and menopause has not helped. Told a couple of people but not going to announce it widely. I wonder how many people are giving credit to WW / SW for secret MJ success! Great to read about everyone's progress - it helped me decide to take the plunge.

Countrygirl222 · 26/01/2025 11:54

Hi, just a catch up. I started on Mounjaro in June when I was over 15 stone. In December I hit 10.5 but with Christmas I put on a few pounds and started picking at biscuits etc. I’ve increased my dose to 10 this week to help with those few pounds. I’m down from a size 18 to a 12 now and feel so much better. My knees are mostly fine now, (I was waiting for a knee replacement,), my sleep apnoea has gone and my heartburn. My blood pressure was very high and is now normal.
I have lost a great deal of hair, over half I would say 😥. I have very wrinkly skin on my arms, inner thighs, bum and my breasts, which have almost disappeared. I’m 61 so I guess my skin is less elastic. For this reason I don’t want to get any smaller, I’m going to try and stay around 10.5. I’ll probably count clicks and reduce the dose on this pen and then I have a couple of saved lower dose pens so my plan is to titrate down over the next few months and hopefully maintain this weight.
Good luck to everyone starting this journey!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/01/2025 14:42

Well done @Countrygirl222
Apart from the hair......

I'm 68 and my body was never going to be gorgeous, but I'm really happy with the current loss (6st 9lb).

Only two or three st. to go.

PermanentTemporary · 26/01/2025 15:15

Absolutely wonderful about the high blood pressure and knees Countrygirl. I work for a stroke team which is one of the reasons I started this, so blood pressure at a normal level is especially great news.

I'm a slow loser generally and really struggled at Christmas, but today I finally dropped below where I was at Christmas and below 15 stone. I feel like I've got a handle on what works food wise - for me, essentially eating two meals a day is right, and if i let the drug do its job thats very easy. I really really need to exercise more though.

SW: 105kg
CW: 94.5kg currently on 10
GW: 77kg

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 26/01/2025 15:40

Hello hello everybody.

I am absolutely made up with either a really nasty cold or flu so I've been drinking a lot of water and juice which just seems to be being turned into a lot of snot.

I did a midweek weigh this morning and it said I had gained 1.2kg, which is bonkers because I've been on one meal a day with the odd cup of tea here and there otherwise but I expect when I'm not feeling quite so grotty I will lose it and it's just water retention.

Welcome to any one who is just starting out their mounjaro journey. It is almost time for a new thread which is always exciting because we get to celebrate anyone who has made their goals on the previous thread and it's so inspiring because I've not come across many threads where there aren't people meeting their goals, close to their goals, or setting themselves even newer goals to achieve. Couldn't be more proud of a group of people I've never met in my life.

Well done on your amazing loss 👏

I just googled this:
Extremely low protein diets may result in restricted hair growth and even hair loss. Collagen is the main structural protein of hair, and may help strengthen the hair shaft and prevent breakage. Choose chicken, turkey, fish, dairy products and eggs along with vegetarian sources such as legumes and nuts.

Im sure you've already looked into it yourself but I know protein is something I always struggle to get enough of when my diet is restricted - amongst other things. I ate a grenade protein bar today as I was travelling and it was rank! I hate protein yoghurts too so I need to try and eat more eggs, meat etc.

I did my second jab on Friday and am exhausted and shivery again today which is exactly what happened last week - then I was fine on the Monday so hoping that happens again!

Hope you've all had a good weekend x

3wDavid · 27/01/2025 07:25

Well f me! I’ve only gone and done it, officially in the healthy BMI range!!!
Precisely 8 months on MJ, and I’ve gone from BMI 37.7 to 24.9. From 107 kg to 72 kg (35 kg down). From size 16/18 to size 10.
I still have a little bit to go until my own personal goal of 65ish kg but I wouldn’t have managed without you lot. Or I would have, but having this support here has made a world of difference and I am so grateful to you all!

letshavetea · 27/01/2025 07:53

@Jimmyneutronsforehead i hope you feel better soon. You’re right this is a lovely thread - thanks for running it.
@3wDavid and @Countrygirl222 congratulations on your losses!
I have finally lost 11 pounds (started at the beginning of October). I took my 18th injection (5mg) last night. Monitor my weight says my average loss is 0.65 pounds per week. I’ve still got 1 stone 5.5 pounds to go to my goal. Being hypothyroid hasn’t helped and is probably why even with MJ I’ve got relatively slow progress. I know it’s better in the long run though. I’ve got my sights on a one stone loss now, which according to my average weight loss should take around 5 weeks for me to achieve.
SW 12.9.5 stone bmi 28.6
CW 11.12.5 stone bmi 26.9
GW 10.5 stone

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 27/01/2025 08:21

@3wDavid well done! It feels great to be in the healthy range. My numbers are similar to yours but at a BMI of 24.9 I'm still a size 14. I look forward to being a 10.

@Countrygirl222 amazing loss for you too!

I've weighed in at a new low of 164lbs this morning. My loss has slowed right down but is still heading in the right direction. I was hoping doing dry January would speed things up a bit but it hasn't made much difference.

Happy Monday everyone 😁

Thank you, but I don't want to take credit for someone else's hard work, it was the wonderful ObsidianTree that started these threads, and when she hit maintenance I just took over as I was off sick with a lot of time on my hands and a long way to go on my journey.

I don't know if she pops back on these threads now she's at maintenance but without her we wouldn't have this community so I hope she knows what an impact her choice to start these threads one day in the not so distant past has had on so many people for the better.

I am just extremely happy to keep these threads rolling because they've helped so much.

Also I'm officially back below my pre-christmas weight. Woohoo! And I've survived 2 birthdays, cakes, meals, picnics and drinks in that time too. December and January are always the hardest because it seems to be a concentrated time of feasting in our family but it feels like I've broken a streak of years of winter gaining.

OP posts:
friendlymummy · 27/01/2025 10:20

@Jimmyneutronsforehead This struck a chord with me. We have three December/January family birthdays, and then there's Christmas and all the attendant celebrations/meals out etc, and I always, always gain. This is the first year in 15 years or so that I'm not battling a 10lb gain into spring, only to fall off the wagon again at Easter. It's life-altering.

meatyryvita · 27/01/2025 10:23

Just got my bloods back - slightly elevated cholesterol which was a surprise to me. Rightly or wrongly, I imagined being vegetarian would mean that my cholesterol would never be an issue. Looking forward to getting accepted and getting on the MJ wagon to healthy cholesterol and BMI.

SnacklessWonder · 27/01/2025 12:16

@meatyryvita Higher cholesterol can be genetic. In those cases you can do all you like with your diet but you'll never reduce it!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2025 14:42

Wonder how @Obsidiantree is doing - come back and tell us how maintenance is

I think a read a few of her threads but was before my time with mj. But did a lot of reading before took the plunge

how long have you done mj and what have you lost /want to lose @Jimmyneutronsforehead

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 27/01/2025 15:01

I think I started in October last year, I've lost 12kg so far, and I've got another 40kg to go.

I'm 4'11 and 60kg would still be classed as overweight for me, but my healthy range is much too low, think it starts at 45kg or something daft. I want to eventually get back into powerlifting so I'll never be 45kg.

She only really posts on the Feb-April starters thread now where we are trying to maintain and get our heads around the fact we are slim now.

I had to calculate that

im a stone and lb girl

so they suggest 7s for a 4/11

60 is 9.4

great you have lost almost 2s but wow that need another 88lbs so 6s to lose

does that sound right so 8s / in all when get to maintenance

well done @Chouxon your loss’s and maintaining now
