Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

Just caught Linney tucking into the raw chicken which I'm cooking this evening.

Villain.

That's on the wrong thread!
Linney is one of my cats.

Linney is absolutely beautiful.

I wish I wasn't allergic to cats. 😭 I have had 10 cats throughout my life and every so often my eyes would just puff up to the point I couldn't open them and then when the last one passed away suddenly I could breathe again and my eyes didn't look like I'd been rolling around a beehive. I'd absolutely adore a beautiful ragdoll or maine coon though.

Me too. I would love one but my eyes couldn't take it.

New joiner here with high hopes! A lifetime of food addiction that I can’t wait to break.

I am not telling my husband at this point and so planned to do my registration and blood test whilst he dropped our son to an activity. My daughter heard the phone call in the bathroom and I fibbed saying it was a menopause test.

I was then doing the blood test and my husband tried to walk in and I have to ask for a minute or two before I respond to his plethora of questions and again, say it’s a menopause test.

I try to post the box with the test locally but it won’t fit through the postbox opening. I collect my son from his activity and we travel to a local shop to post it there. He has it on his lap for me to keep it safe and again, asks what it is.

I mean I am definitely perimenopausal but now they all think I’m evidently so because I’m so grumpy.

I’m starting off at spitting distance from 16 stone (weighed myself in horror for the first time in ages). Looking forward to being accepted and getting some good results!

Welcome welcome!

You'll not find a more supportive bunch than us. It's wonderful that we've had a graduator and a fresh starter on the same day.

I've honestly never met a bunch of more inspiring women so you are in good hands here. There's so much knowledge shared, and if you need to ask any questions there are none too daft.

I will just kindly ask that you read the safety leaflet with your medication once you get it just to familiarise yourself with what's a common side effect and what is less common but requires attention but other than that I look forward to hearing about your successes big and small!

Placemarking as I'm really enjoying reading through this thread and want to be able find it!

I had my first jab last Friday and am feeling good so far, appetite is definitely suppressed and I'm feeling more energetic and generally happier in my mood.

Height 5"8"
SW:13st 6lbs
GW: 11st (maybe lower, depending on how I feel when I get there)

@JoanCollinsDiva welcome! It's very nice to have you here 😊

Thanks Jimmyneutronsforehead

As a newbie I'm finding it really helpful to read through threads where people are a bit further on and have become experts! Also great to see the trajectory of weightloss and how well people are doing overall. It's a good reminder that weightloss isn't always consistent and that it's a marathon not a sprint.

Hearing about other peoples NSV' s and how their life is changing as they get closer to goal is hugely motivating 🙌

Pinkbendyman · 23/01/2025 11:23

@Paperwhite13 well done! Congratulations 🥳

@JoanCollinsDiva this will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made! Welcome and good luck 😉 I couldn’t have made my MJ journey without this fabulous thread @Jimmyneutronsforehead thank you again 😊

It’s only me again! Just after some advice/opinions please!

It’s been years since I’ve been swimming (never brave enough to wear a swimming costume when I was obese) I love swimming and would like to add it to my weekly gym sessions.

So I’ve bought this (photo below) and it fits fine, although some ‘roly poly’ bits of fat on show, unless I also wear the top too.

So my question is should I initially wear all 3 pieces until I feel more comfortable and confident to just wear the bra top and shorts?

If you’re a regular swimmer, does anyone wear anything like this or will I look completely ridiculous?!

If it makes you feel comfy, wear it! I think most people are focussed on themselves and how they look, so look fab, feel comfy and enjoy your swimming!

I'm very flabby and it wouldn't bother me just wearing the bra and bottoms, but I do know people that wear similar for lane swimming as it helps them be more streamlined so from a fitness perspective I say go for it! They seem comfortable.

Once you're in the water the thing people notice most is old men's ball bags in questionably loose swimming trunks anyway.

Can you take a wet bag poolside to derobe your top layer if you decide to go for the 3 piece and then change your mind?

OP posts:
Pinkbendyman · 23/01/2025 22:37

@Jimmyneutronsforehead “old men’s ball bags” has cracked me up 🤣 Love it!

@meatyryvita thank you!

You’ve both given me the confidence to go for it.

Also, a great idea about the wet bag.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/01/2025 00:15

Honestly @Pinkbendyman I look hideous in all swimming costumes, so I just put them on anyway, and figure that nobody's judging me.

I hope.

Weigh day for me today and after weeks of losing 1lb I’ve had a whoosh and lost 3lb! It’s taken me under the 13stone bracket, finally! Picked a new goal weight of a healthy BMI, which never felt possible this time last year.

SW- 20.2
CW- 12.12
GW- 11.10

That's the stuff we like to hear!

Well done you!

I've told myself that when I get to 13 stone I'll let myself have a new piercing as a little treat. The rebellious teenager in me is really excited about it. Might even dye my grey hairs as a treat too.

I had to come off my diuretics because they were causing hypokalaemia (low potassium). I was on them for high blood pressure.
I was all set to get to a personal goal today but I've gained three pounds.
I know its just fluid but I'm properly pissed off, I've been sticking to my plan religiously.😡

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 24/01/2025 13:39

@Jimmyneutronsforehead I've promised myself a new piercing when I've hit target. Which one will you go for?

I want a stacked second lobe piercing. I really want a septum piercing but I think my nose is a bit too wonky to pull it off. I'm sure it's one of those things no one else notices about me but I'm hyper aware of it.

I'd like a stacked lobe but I think I'm going to get a daith next.

I have a septum piercing and love it! I think they suit everyone. Get a fake one and try it out?

MelainesLaugh · 24/01/2025 18:44

I’m finally at 3.5 stone lost, and for the first time this morning I felt slim. I’ve still got a long way to go, but it was a nice feeling. I’m now 12 stone 11lbs, I can not remember the last time I was in the 12 stone bracket.

I did my first bonus dose with an insulin needle today too, for some reason after I did the hard twist the plunger wouldn’t work and I refuse to waste that dose. I told myself I would never use the insulin needles but it was actually ok. So to anyone else nervous about it, it’s fine honestly!!!

On the subject of piercings, I’ve been telling myself I’m going to get a belly button piercing if my stomach goes flat enough!!

I've heard some miraculous things about Palmers firming and toning cocoa lotion so I've just started a bottle.

I don't usually think creams do very much but so far so promising for my loose bits of skin.

Havent lots of people been mentioning this? I think they've started sabotaging the pens so people can't get the extra dose maybe - obviously it's losing them money!

I weighed today (1st week) and have lost 4 lbs which I'm please with.

SW: 13.6

Im going out to Turtle Bay tomorrow and hoping I can swerve the cocktails which are my downfall - I love a cocktail!
