Did you go on to the higher dose after only 3 weeks?

I mean you have lost a stone so it's obviously working but you haven't taken it as prescribed, so that might be a factor?

SilenceInside · 25/10/2024 14:11

@Yarnbarn I would imagine the OP meant that she's just done her 3rd injection of 5mg which would be correct. 4 weeks on 2.5mg, 2 complete weeks on 5mg and now just done the 3rd 5mg injection.

Regardless, @TryingForBaby2 you will look different but it's just hard for our brains to adjust when it only changes imperceptibly day by day. Do you have a photo of yourself from before you started? Could you wear the same clothes and take a photo in the same pose, and compare the two?

Also, take body measurements now, and compare in another 4 weeks time and you will see a difference in the measurements even if you can't recognise it visually.

Oh sorry I totally misunderstood that Blush

You are doing really well, a stone in 6 weeks isn't a poor loss tbh, I think we have some massive expectations from this jab because of social media: but keep it real you are losing well

I've lost 2.5 stone and no one has noticed yet.. lol.. but then I was heavy to start with and quite tall..

BatFaceGiirll · 25/10/2024 14:25

You're totally where you should be! I lost 5 lbs in my first week back in April when I started

Ive now lost 77 lbs and am 9 stone 5. Some weeks I lost a lb, some weeks I lost 4 lbs, some weeks I stayed the same but over the course of 7 months, 77 lbs has come off

Look at your losses over a 30 day period and not weekly and just keep going.

You're doing great and you're bang on progress wise

A long time ago, when I was a young adult, I lost a load of weight and was at one point about 9st 10lbs having been probably up to 14 or 15 stone. Even when I was 9st 10lbs I genuinely couldn't see that I was no longer overweight. I kept wearing my baggy clothes and never wore anything figure hugging. I still felt mentally overweight. I could not adjust to it. Even though I was buying size 10 clothing. I think it can take a lot of mental effort to readjust and recognise the change.

BatFaceGiirll · 25/10/2024 14:28

It's true though - you are spot on. Over a stone in 6 weeks. That'll be 2 stone in 11 or 13 weeks and before you know it, you'll be three stone down in the new year.

It goes quickly and on the months where I felt I'd made little progress, looking back I have never lost less than 7 lbs a month.

ive always struggled with my self image. i was once 9st and used to cry everyday that i was fat. its just embedded in my head. so i think even when im back down to the weight i wanna be at ill still believe im fat.. its such a rubbish feeling😫

I’ve just completed 10 weeks on Mounjaro and have only lost 17.5 lbs. I’m disappointed that the weight is not coming off quicker as I’m only eating between 800 and 1000 calories per day but at least I’m losing. I do have a chronic illness so can’t do much exercise which is why I piled on the pounds in the first place.

SilenceInside · 25/10/2024 15:29

@U2fanforever that's a really typical amount of weight lost, between 1 to 2 pounds a week. That's sustainable and if you keep doing that you'll keep making downwards progress.

BookishType · 25/10/2024 15:34

14 weeks for me and I’m 37lbs down.

I’ve been quite disappointed as my friends haven’t even noticed, and I think it’s very obvious. My husband says it’s because I never looked fat 😂 But I was 188lbs, and although I’m tall, I definitely looked fat. And I definitely look on the slim side now (although I have more to lose).

Pinkbendyman · 25/10/2024 15:42

You’ve lost, on average, 2.5 pounds per week which is brilliant progress!

Keep doing what you’re doing and everything will work out for you, I promise!

EBoo80 · 25/10/2024 15:45

Did you do waist measurements too? Mine are gratifying even thought my loss hasn’t been spectacular. And improving waist-hip/height ratio is a health measure on a par with BMI, so definitely one to watch and feel proud of!

mjuser · 25/10/2024 18:17

I read somewhere that you should try and imagine your body as a roll of toilet paper. At first you can take sheets and sheets off and it still seems big, but the more you use it up, the more difference just a few sheets make to its size.

I don't know if I've explained that very well!

Doggymummar · 25/10/2024 18:21

I've lost 4 stone and am still a size 16, haven't really changed much size size yet. It will all go at once I reckon and puff I'll be a ten

Snozzlemaid · 25/10/2024 20:56

I started at 18st 6 and I lost 3.5 stone before anyone noticed and before I could really see a difference.
I was wearing a lot of the same clothes then too, so wasn't sure where it was going from.
Then all of a sudden the change is clear to me and my old clothes are hanging off me.
The smaller I get I am expecting to see changes and to drop clothes sizes quicker.

Everdecreasingcircle · 26/10/2024 19:18

It is weird how people do or don’t notice.
I’ve lost 72 lbs since May and have a few friends who have not said a single word. It is strange but they never said anything when I put on weight either. Maybe they don’t want to offend but Jesus I look different and find it weird they don’t say well done. I do love wearing clothes I bought and never wore before as they were “one day I’ll lose weight “ clothes.

Bellyblueboy · 26/10/2024 19:22

I have just taken my fifth dose of 2.5mg. I have lost 13lbs and see no difference. Clothes aren’t as tight.

I have three stone to lose, started at a size 16 (but squeezing into 14s) can wear most of my 14s now without pain👏.

at my target weight of 9st 4 I should be a size 10 - but that is two stone away and I can’t imagine dropping two dress sizes.

TheChosenTwo · 26/10/2024 19:23

@Everdecreasingcircle i never comment on anyone’s weight without invitation, ever! It’s really rude.
It’s not always a good thing when people lose weight, some have lost is due to stress/illness etc and is not always something to congratulate someone for.
Safest bet is to keep my mouth shut until they bring it up and I can judge the tone, eg “I’ve been doing x for 3 months to shift the baby weight and I’ve finally lost a stone and I’m really happy” - sounds positive enough for me to say well done!
