@HansHolbein I haven’t had too many side effects. my sleep hasn’t been great as i’ve been waking through the night. this did lessen as the week went on. will see if taking 2nd jab today brings it back.
constipation has been an issue but I’ve had chia water last 2 days & it’s sorted everything out.
no nausea & I’ve managed to eat around 1200 cals a day, focusing on getting at least 100g of protein.
absolutely no snacking at all which is amazing for me.

@onthecoast I pay for nutracheck too & find it really useful

I've been struggling with sleep, nausea and constipation this week too since my first jab at the weekend. Nausea under control now I'm spacing my food intake better, but sleep's all to pot - I have a sleep disorder to start with which doesn't help, but it's been noticeably worse this week and I've had 5 nights on the trot of way too little kip. 😣Thank goodness the weekend is in sight, but I really hope the sleep is going to get easier.

Also constipation-prone generally, but again it seems worse since the jab. So this week's been a bit of a low. Still ... eyes on the prize. It's early days and will hopefully all be worth it!

Fizzleaway1 · 31/10/2024 18:45

I have been so busy today with the kids and I just realised I haven’t eaten more than 100 calories all day!
Im not even hungry and currently out with the kids trick or treating. Need to make sure I get something when I get back home

Bit of a dilemma, and looking for advice... Due to start 5mg pen on Tuesday night, and it jammed. Eventually got a hold of Med Ex on Wednesday, who told me they'd send one urgently, however, won't get to me till lunchtime tomorrow. Due to go for a family curry on Saturday night, question is, do I wait until Sunday to inject the 5mg pen, in case of side effects? Did anyone notice a big difference when stepping up?

OrlandointheWilderness · 31/10/2024 19:08

Whatever you do guys... do NOT steal a couple of sweets and a tiny swig of baileys! It was injection night tonight and before I did it I risked a haribo.
Oh dear 💩 😂

OrlandointheWilderness · 31/10/2024 19:09

And apparently it's blooming tropical. 😂 I disagree!!!

Those of you who do the jab in the morning, do you find the suppression starts straight away, or later in the day, or not until the day after? Trying to decide when to take mine, was going to do my first jab last night and chickened out.

Really depends! My first jab I think I didn’t get suppression until day following, last week I didn’t get hardly any at all, but some weeks within a couple of hours.

I haven’t so far had any increase in side effects (other than suppression being back), I did my first 5mg jab on Monday

Gilly1C · 31/10/2024 19:43

Right, help needed please.
I am due my first 5mg this weekend and scared to death of all the horror stories, so not sure whether to do 45 clicks or just go for it full on and see. Part of me things it's like childbirth where people just share the horror stories

Mine was honestly almost instant. I took it at 9am and couldn’t manage more than two mouthfuls of my first meal at 1pm!

I would go for it and do the 5mg, I did on Monday and haven’t noticed any increase in side effects. Just better suppression and if anything less reflux.

Gilly1C · 31/10/2024 19:51

@butteredparsnip thank you xx

PolaDeVeboise · 31/10/2024 20:11

Thanks @butteredparsnip . Think I'll go further it, in case I ruin the last 4 weeks by eating double my body weight in curry 🤣

flowerlady2 · 31/10/2024 20:14

Sodadog I’m starving. 2nd jab due tomorrow it feels like it’s literally just run out of my system this evening, it’s only my 2nd 2.5mg jab tomorrow and I’ll be cracking on with that one in the morning I reckon!

recklessgran · 31/10/2024 20:44

@flowerlady2 snap! I'm due my 3rd jab tomorrow and I've been starving today and ashamed to admit that I ate THREE fruit shortcake biscuits this afternoon. That is honestly the first junk I've eaten in a fortnight and I feel quite ashamed! Just back from the Toby carvery where I behaved myself - turkey and veg only, no Yorkshire and only one roast potato. I had a black coffee whilst DH had his dessert. I agree after spending most of last weekend in bed due to extreme side effects [overwhelming tiredness and nausea] I feel that today I'm struggling to contain myself. I now have a dilemma. I am intending to microdose tomorrow on 1.25mg as I can't afford to be under the weather this weekend due to a couple of very important events I can't [and don't want to] get out of.. On top of that we're going on holiday on Wednesday and I need to be on top form for that too. Rather than skipping it's my intention to do 1.25mgs tomorrow and the same again on Wednesday before we leave in the hope of having at least enough suppression to stop me from going nuts and undoing the success so far. As soon as we get home the following week I will be back on the final 2.5mgs..

FuckOffGerms · 31/10/2024 20:50

I’ve been on period watch for a week and it finally showed up this evening! I’ve felt really rough for the last few days, on the verge of a migraine and a bit flu-like.

I was 7 days late, which is very unusual for me so putting it down to MJ. I’d also not lost in week 3 - I’m trying not to be disappointed but I’m now into week 4 so hoping I’ll shift a few more pounds now my period has started.

I’ve got my 5mg pen in the fridge to start next week. Definitely noticed the difference as the last few weeks have gone on. Food noise is creeping back, although hunger is low-level which is helping.

Maggi85 · 31/10/2024 20:53

Start on 5mg tomorrow. So far after 4 full weeks lost 1st 1lb very happy with that. Felt my suppression wavering towards the end so for my last jab on 2.5 I did that hard twist and got 3.75 which helped so feeling comfortable to move up to 5mg tomorrow.

Fizzleaway1 · 31/10/2024 21:54

Back home now and Iv had a protein yogurt, half a chicken breast and two treat size fudges from the kids haul.

Drinking some chia seeds in water while watching tv.

Fizzleaway1 · 31/10/2024 22:01

@Maggi85 - that’s an amazing amount! Well done. Did you have any extra side effects on the 3.75? I’m hoping to get roughly the same from my pen next week.

@IchiNiSanShiGo Iv took my injection in the morning, 2pm and the evening. I can’t never pinpoint when it starts actively starts working.

IlovetoKnitandRead · 31/10/2024 23:04

I am coming to the end of week 3 now as I will inject a day earlier to evenutually get to a friday jab night! I am noticing lesser suppression and more hunger this week, and only constipation as a side effect (psyllium husks work wonders) Tonight though, I had a really small baked potato for tea with half an Aldi protein mousse as I wanted a snack while watching The Rocky Horror Pictur Show. I had a few nuts, 2 fresh dates and a small handful of crisps (nothing like my pre Mj snacks). Well I felt really uncomfortable and slightly nauseous and that came as a shock. It really showed me that even on 2.5 mg I cant overeat without really ill!

I’ve not heard many horror stories TBH. I’ve heard loads of people say 5mg was a godsend. Don’t be scared! Maybe it’s a bit like the reviews on Amazon. When we’re thinking of buying something we skate over all the many good reviews and get really nervous about the few bad ones! 5mg is the first proper therapeutic dose. The 2.5 is just preparing your body for it. Go for it!

EVK · 31/10/2024 23:57

Yep! I’m on week 4 D5 and suppression is still good, I can get hungry but then quickly forget about it, especially if I drink water. Still n
desire to snack, drink wine or over eat. It’s amazing!

Iloveewanthesheep · 01/11/2024 04:20

@Maggi85 did you inject the 2.5 first then hard twist to get the remaining which was a total of 3.75?

Or hard twisted after the dial has gone to 1?

Thanks!
