@UtterlyQuackers - I posted about this above. Fat Secret and Monitor your Weight (weight loss graph).

Fizzleaway1 · 31/10/2024 11:42

I use my Renpho scales to monitor my weight. Iv used them for years but Iv also started using monitor your weight.

I don’t strictly monitor my calories. I just add it up roughly on my calculator as whatever figure you input stays on there so I just add to it throughout the day and clear it in the morning.

SunQueen24 · 31/10/2024 11:42

I use my fitness pal. Primarily because I’ve used to for years (10+) and so I know how to use it and most of my foods are now in its database because I’ve added them where I need to.

Tigerlily08 · 31/10/2024 11:51

Thank you everyone for checking in. I think I got myself in a bit of a vicious cycle where my stomach was very acidic which was making me not want food. I have had some solids and am feeling a lot better! Onwards and upwards 😅

ThatVividCat · 31/10/2024 11:52

@HansHolbein I haven’t had too many side effects. my sleep hasn’t been great as i’ve been waking through the night. this did lessen as the week went on. will see if taking 2nd jab today brings it back.
constipation has been an issue but I’ve had chia water last 2 days & it’s sorted everything out.
no nausea & I’ve managed to eat around 1200 cals a day, focusing on getting at least 100g of protein.
absolutely no snacking at all which is amazing for me.

@onthecoast I pay for nutracheck too & find it really useful

Sorry I missed it. Thank you, have downloaded fat secret.

letshavetea · 31/10/2024 11:54

@Fizzleaway1 - I must admit my main reason is to track macros - protein in particular and to make sure I don’t have too many carbs. @SunQueen24 - I tried My Fitness Pal and it’s probably me, but I couldn’t get it to work! @Tigerlily08 - so pleased you’re on the mend now!

letshavetea · 31/10/2024 11:57

@UtterlyQuackers - it’ll be interesting to see how we get on with Fat Secret.

IchiNiSanShiGo · 31/10/2024 11:57

Those of you who do the jab in the morning, do you find the suppression starts straight away, or later in the day, or not until the day after? Trying to decide when to take mine, was going to do my first jab last night and chickened out.

OrlandointheWilderness · 31/10/2024 12:01

I'm so bloody cold though!!

ThatVividCat · 31/10/2024 12:04

@IchiNiSanShiGo when I took my first jab it was about 3pm when it was delivered & I took it straight away. didn’t feel anything until next morning when i felt a sense of fullness.

I’ve taken my 2nd at 10am this morning & can feel it working again already

Me too! I said to my husband this morning it was freezing in the house. I got puzzled looks from him and it kids, apparently it wasn't.

Thankyou- that’s really helpful. I’m so nervous about taking it. It’s been in the fridge since Saturday.

SunQueen24 · 31/10/2024 12:54

@IchiNiSanShiGo i even drafted a message to a friend I know is using MJ as I was going to give it away! I’ve been fine since taking it.

Haha! I just need to bloody well get on with it, I’d already decided to do it because I bought it in the first place.

HansHolbein · 31/10/2024 13:33

@UtterlyQuackers Nutracheck is very good but it isn’t free. I don’t count calories though as it’s very triggering for me. I get overwhelmed and pissed off I can’t weigh a piece of cheese or if I’m out or something!

@IchiNiSanShiGo First jab I did at night because I wanted to sleep through any immediate side effects (nothing happened!). The last two times I have done it in the morning around 9am and it’s been fine. I usually notice changes within 24hrs.

@OrlandointheWilderness Saaaaame! I am wearing my favourite jumper. It’s hideous. I’ve had it for years. A few years ago my husband was so sick of it that he asked me to bin it. I did. I was sad to bin it. So, at 2am, I went out to the bins and retrieved it! Me and this jumper are not being parted again!!

I'm cold for about 5/7 days of the week from jab day. It's insane, I don't know how we will all survive the winter 🤣

PepsiMaxandPringleStacks · 31/10/2024 13:50

Pegsmum · 31/10/2024 11:09

Thanks, was that your first jab of 5mg? I was toying with 3.75mg but then thought it’s probably wiser to stick to the actual recommended dosage and just stop dithering! I get really cold too!

Yes that was my first 5mg, I deffo feel it's stronger than 2.5, I was fighting myself to finish my breakfast and lunch today but it's not unpleasant!

I was really nervous too, went for it at 8.30pm last night. Was so much easier than I had built it up to be and so far no side effects other than burping!

Go for it....of you're anything like me the longer you wait the harder it will be x

I used MFP for about 10 years too, probably longer, but when I went back to it recently I found it had really shot up in price. Also, I always found it a bit US-oriented. We do get used to apps though so I can understand you sticking with it but for me personally I’ve found Nutracheck worth switching to.

You sound exactly like me! Sleep probs, constipation, no snacking, Nutracheck! No issues apart from these. I’m in W2.

onthecoast · 31/10/2024 15:19

Like others, I’ve felt really cold too. My other half thought I was nuts last night when I said this! Never occurred to me it might be MJ.

annedawso · 31/10/2024 15:30

EVK · 31/10/2024 08:28

@annedawso im in a similar boat with menopause and years of struggling to lose a few pounds. MJ really is fabulous- it’s like the secret switch has been flipped and now sensible eating seems easy. I’d love to know what weights routine you’re doing. I’m back at the gym as I’m also very conscious of the need to do some resistance exercises!!! At our age loss of muscle doesn’t need any more help!

@EKV. Good analogy it is like a secret switch. It has given me the willpower to eat the way I know I should. I am taking MJ as well as doing Fast800 the Michael Mosley programme for a couple of weeks to give myself a boost. Have tried it several times before but now have ability to stick to it.
When I go the gym depending on how busy it is I use dumbell weights or if busy go on the machines.
I would advise anyone starting to begin with very light weights until you get used to it, plus has the added bonus that you can walk the next day!!!
I tend to do 12 reps x 2 sets -

  1. Chest press
  2. Dumbell rows
  3. Squats
  4. Lunges
  5. Bicep curls
  6. Shoulder raises
  7. Side planks 2 x 30 seconds.

Any exercises not sure on YouTube is brilliant.
I only do about 30 minutes weights a couple of times a week.
Resistance bands are great if can’t get to the gym.

I am determined to keep my weight training going and eat plenty of protein as will lose muscle if not.

YummyCookie · 31/10/2024 15:30

Another one here that’s been freezing. Weigh day tomorrow again for me but it’s been a slow week
