I'm 3.5wks in and 8lbs down. I'm lighter today than I've been in 5yrs which is quite an achievement for me.

Oct 2024 MJ SW: 13st4
CW: 12st 10
MJ Loss 8lbs

Head hunger is returning but losing interest after a few mouthfuls. Decided to go up to 5mg on my next one. Sent throught the price match to Medexpress, I assume I'll receive the difference as a credit on my account for the next order.

SunQueen24 · 04/11/2024 13:07

@recklessgran thank you for your reply.

i think that’s exactly what I need - maybe even half a dose. I just feel the suppression and side effects are too much at this dose. I think I’ll give it a break. Hopefully as time goes on and more research into the drug etc it will be possible to have a more personalised approach. I even think taking a smaller dose less frequently would work because of course once you’ve injected it lasts a long while. I will watch the topic of developing WLI with interest.

rockingbird · 04/11/2024 14:16

@recklessgran I might consider this for my next jab, good to hear your feeling a bit better having reduced yours.

recklessgran · 04/11/2024 14:29

@rockingbird I personally don't think a half dose is enough and for me was actually too low. I wish I'd done two thirds as I reckon that would probably be spot on. I know you're not meant to mess with the doses but I can't see that underdosing can do any harm and as I have huge caring responsibilities for elderly Mum and disabled DD I literally can't afford to be under par hence my decision. I also didn't want to have to throw in the towel either so this compromise felt right.

SunQueen24 · 04/11/2024 14:40

Interesting @recklessgran and @rockingbird that Im not alone struggling with the first doses. It’s clear some people react differently and it would be interesting to know why.

recklessgran · 04/11/2024 14:55

No @SunQueen24 I'm pretty sure we're not alone and I'd like to guess that a lot would give up as unfortunately the extreme level of side effects that we've had are really not compatible with real life in the long run are they? I guess we're all different - I mean, just look for example at all the variations in losses on this thread for a start and we're just a tiny snapshot of the most likely many thousands in the same stage of MJing as we are. I'm going to crack on, use my common sense and hope for the best!

crumbsonmyface · 04/11/2024 15:28

Just catching up on this thread, and glad to hear your side effects have gone down @recklessgran

Let us know how you get on with the increased dose if you go up - hopefully it'll be a lot better this time around :)

I'm still finding the 1.25mg is working for me (although I'm sure I'll need to titrate up slowly at some point). Side effects are way more manageable, but still getting some anxiety post-jab.

It's kind of nice to know there are others out there in the same position (but sorry a few of you had a rough start too!) x

crumbsonmyface · 04/11/2024 15:29

Sorry @SunQueen24 and @rockingbird - that last post was meant to have you both tagged in too - hope your side effects are much more manageable x

SunQueen24 · 04/11/2024 15:47

@crumbsonmyface how long did the anxiety last post jab? I have found that the hardest side effect.

crumbsonmyface · 04/11/2024 15:56

SunQueen24 · 04/11/2024 15:47

@crumbsonmyface how long did the anxiety last post jab? I have found that the hardest side effect.

@SunQueen24 - so I did my first week on 2.5mg and omg the anxiety was off the scale (had a full blown panic attack out of nowhere and then was really struggling to even leave home/raised heart rate etc)

So I've been on 1.25mg for the last 3 weeks, and it has made a huge difference to the anxiety. But I did have a small (but manageable) anxious feeling the day after my jab last week. One thing I've found out for me is that electrolytes are really helping, but also my sugar levels were getting too low - and having a bit of fast acting sugar like a teaspoon of honey or some orange juice has also weirdly helped with anxiety - apparently it can be a thing - who knew.

How's your anxiety been? X

SunQueen24 · 04/11/2024 16:47

@crumbsonmyface last week my anxiety was fine, if anything better than ever. After my injection yesterday it’s been crippling. I’ve not had a panic attack because I’ve been looking after small kids so have held it together but I’ve been really struggling. I’ve googled it and it’s an issue with MJ that’s recognised and noted as being an area that needs more research.

Thank you, I find electrolytes help too, I’ve had some sugar free ones today but also had a full sugar lucozade and those have helped loads.

Hope you’re doing ok too.

rockingbird · 04/11/2024 16:47

I'm also finding the electrolytes are helping - I don't feel so jittery as long as I drink one a day so I'll stick with that. The anxious feeling seems to dull down after three or four days post jab.. it's just getting small amounts of food in 🥴 strange how it affects people differently! Had you of told me I'd lose 10lbs in 10 days I'd have laughed at you but here I am..

Gilly1C · 04/11/2024 19:26

Hi all, just leaving this here for anyone who is anxious about the 5mg step. I took my first one Saturday morning and have zero side effects, just a renewed suppression to be honest, does not feel any different from my first shot of 2.5. I would say don't be nervous and if you are (like I was) just prep with lots of ginger /peppermint tea and electrolytes. Good luck to anyone making that next step. We all got ya!!

Bassetthounddog · 04/11/2024 19:57

ItsMintUpNorth · 03/11/2024 15:42

With Zava who I got my first one off 2.5 and 5 are the same price, so I've gone for the 5 but going to take half doses (30 clicks) and only take a full dose if I feel the 2.5 is no longer working, there will likely be some wasted at the end of the 30 days but for the same price it gives me flexibility.

I am the same, but want to get the 30 clicks right! Been looking for videos!

Missreginafalange · 04/11/2024 21:32

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 I know you said you were looking at IQdoctor but have you considered MedExpress? With referral code the 5mg pen is £40 off so only £109?

Once you've ordered you then get a referral
Code of your own and if someone uses it (as a new customer) you then get £40 credit off your next pen.

There's a thread on here with loads of the referral codes, so not trying to sway you in to using my code Smile but just thinking about saving money!

I've had these exact symptoms, I did have other stressful situations going on so assumed it was those. Jabbed Saturday morning and also had some anxiety yesterday eugh.

flowerlady2 · 04/11/2024 23:55

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else is left with a small painless bruise after a jab? Am I being a bit ham fisted or is there a knack to injecting so you don’t leave a bruise? Any tips welcomed!

WafflingDreamer · 05/11/2024 05:58

Jab 5 done yesterday, decided to go with 3.75mg

SW 21st 9lb
CW 20st 12lb
GW 12st 6lb

Total loss 11lb

Only 1lb off this week but it's my TOTM and it was half term so I'm pleased to have lost anything.

I think if you push the pen hard into where ever you’re injecting it leaves a bruise. If you press less hard it doesn’t.

Missreginafalange · 05/11/2024 06:18

End of week 2 today and weighed in and have lost 4 pounds, following chat here about weighing monthly etc. I'm thinking of weighing fortnightly going forward.

SW 15.6
CW 14.10
GW 11.3 (BMI 24.5)
10 lbs lost so far

Going to jab tonight as in the office today and going to try stomach as have done thigh and arm so far.

rockingbird · 05/11/2024 06:33

Morning all, been awake since 3.30am 🤢
Wk 2 day 4 and the sickness is real ..

letshavetea · 05/11/2024 06:48

@rockingbird - sorry to hear that. I suffer from insomnia and it’s been exacerbated since starting MJ particularly in the first few days after the injection. I also have nausea for a couple of days. I find drinking lots of water helps with that. Still glad I’m on it though! We can do this!

SunQueen24 · 05/11/2024 07:00

@Mysticmaiden2024

i hope your anxiety has eased. I’m day 3 now and it’s waning.

SunQueen24 · 05/11/2024 07:01

@rockingbird so sorry you’ve not been well, I hope you get some rest today and today is a better day.

autumn1610 · 05/11/2024 07:40

@CH1968 just to give you a bit of hope, I have noticed a difference on jab 2 of 5mg. Jabbed on Sunday and def feeling less hungry and more full

had a quick check on scales and I’m roughly 6lb down now from when I started, I won’t log it properly till next Sunday but it’s moving slowly
