@Missreginafalange I’ve been thinking of taking them too.. heard good things about Optibac too!

@Mincepieinthesky Fantastic! Well done 👏 I always do my stomach and have had no side effects.

@rockingbird You poor thing feeling so shit. Thinking of you. Whilst the loss is amazing I can see why you’re worried. Can you try and manage something snacky? Little and often to keep your strength up? Keep drinking!

@SunQueen24 Amazing, well done! Do you feel lighter? That’s how I feel. I can’t explain it really but I just feel like I can move easier.

@ThatVividCat Woohoo! Happy for you! Any side effects this week?

@annedawso Congratulations! You must feel so much better. Thank you for the reminder about protein. I definitely don’t have enough. Also a good time to remind myself about resistance training..

@Tigerlily08 Yes, please let us know you are ok! I missed your post yesterday. This thread moves sooo fast.

@UtterlyQuackers I think that’s good! Did you do your first jab yesterday evening? Sorry, I can’t remember. I usually feel different within 24hrs.

@TheOtherSide21 Fab!! How do you feel on 5mg?

MontevideoTrip · 31/10/2024 08:44

Hey everyone! On week two on 0.25. I see some people started much higher…is there a reason that my supplier said to start so low?

HansHolbein · 31/10/2024 08:45

@MontevideoTrip Morning! Everyone starts on 2.5mg. We have to. After four weeks we can move to 5mg.

Oh my, am I just being really dense and 0.25 is the same as 2.5 that everyone is mentioning?!

SunQueen24 · 31/10/2024 08:49

@HansHolbein i feel so much lighter. I’ve eaten really well since being on MJ. I know that makes a huge difference to how I feel but on MJ I’ve not been miserable and craving so it’s a lovely feeling.

Bellablahhole · 31/10/2024 08:53

Thanks to everyone for posting on this thread and keeping it so active. I read every post, it's so helpful to read your experiences.

End of week 4 weigh- in and I've lost another 3lbs, which was a nice surprise. I made an effort to up my water intake this week (I usually don't drink enough water) and I think that helped. Took my bonus dose from my 2.5 mg pen using an insulin syringe and got 0.7mls - not as much as I'd hoped for (around a 2.9 mg dose). I have a 5mg pen waiting and will decide whether to go up to that or take a lower dose next week.

No-one has noticed my weight loss yet but I'm certainly feeling the difference in how my clothes fit and my (still very large) tummy has definitely reduced!

SW 14:4.8 (BMI 30.6)
CW 13:5.4 (BMI 28.6)
Total loss 13.4lb
GW 10st?

envbeckyc · 31/10/2024 08:56

So three weeks weigh in today and my total weight loss is exactly 10lbs.

As I am only 5ft tall that’s a substantial difference, and I am really pleased.

The weight loss suppression ran out yesterday and I had my first snack between meals (a fun size bag of maltesers) and felt very hungry at dinner time.

looking forward to taking my 4th 0.25 injection today and starting 0.5 injection next week!

SunQueen24 · 31/10/2024 08:58

@envbeckyc well done!

As my DH says being small isn’t very forgiving. For me 7lb is a dress size!

Selkie9 · 31/10/2024 09:01

Hi everyone, going to jump on this thread as it looks busy and is a really supportive place!

I took my first 2.5mg on Tuesday, been having some suppression but still wanting to eat - which is good I guess. I'm already eating much smaller portions though and genuinely only wanting to eat healthier foods. No cravings for chocolate, biscuits etc. So far so good. I've also been motivated to start exercising again - haven't been in the mood to exercise or go on long walks for months. It will definitely help.

Only real side effect was last night I woke up feeling a little sick and was burping a lot. I took some gaviscon which sorted it pretty quickly. Not sure if it's because I had a few glasses of wine in the evening! That's definitely a vice I'm hoping to get better with on MJ.

Good luck to everyone on their journeys!

Yes same so good to hear others have too, they have 20% off that finishes today , so think I'm going to nose at Holland and Barrett at lunch and then order from the optibac website

W2 D2 suppression is fairly high and no side effects, so hoping it continues.

UtterlyQuackers · 31/10/2024 09:08

@HansHolbein it was yesterday about 3ish..

As everyone is so different I am not sure what to expect.

Very thankful for this thread and everyone's contributions! Thank you! 😊

flowerlady2 · 31/10/2024 09:38

This is a really good thread, I’m enjoying following the disc and support. Feeling a little heady, and have a hot flush or 2 but otherwise good, no stomach/wind issues (W1 D6) will weigh in tomorrow. Definitely eaten less and healthily this week.

letshavetea · 31/10/2024 09:43

Good morning all. For anyone who’s interested I’ve spent a bit of time loading and deleting various apps for calorie counting and monitoring my weight loss (including a graph - I do like visuals!). I’ve settled on Fat Secret for calorie counting and macros and Monitor my Weight for a nice weight loss graph!
I find them both really easy to use and they’re free!

letshavetea · 31/10/2024 09:45

Sorry it’s Monitor your Weight (not my)!

BeckyBloom · 31/10/2024 09:48

I'm at end of week 3 and have lost 11 lbs. Had a couple of bouts of diarrhoea which was awful but worth it as 2 years ago it took me months to lose that. Got my last 2.5 tomorrow and have ordered a 5ml for next week.

BeckyBloom · 31/10/2024 09:50

I have to say that although I'm pleased with the loss, the suppression has been minimal and I still have food noise and cravings.

Pegsmum · 31/10/2024 10:45

Morning all-I’ve just done my ‘bonus’ dose with the hard twist which was easier than I thought. I’ve got a 5mg pen waiting but unsure whether to go for a full dose next week or increase gradually. Anyone just gone for it?

onthecoast · 31/10/2024 10:59

I'm on W2D3. I lost 2lbs in W1 which is less than most people. I’d have liked a bit more but I’m ok with it really. I’ve read such an enormous variety of MJ loss reports that I know there’s nothing to be concerned about. I’m not aware of less food noise. I still think about it a lot but only in relation to what healthy food I’m planning to eat. My calorie count is low (about 1200-1400 a day but includes plenty of protein. I struggle to reach the 110g that should be my protein target but I get close to it, usually 80% or so. I’ve stopped all snacking and alcohol, without any withdrawal pain! No bad side effects except a bit constipated and I keep waking up in the night for no obvious reason. Fortunately I’m retired so I can sleep in to catch up but it’s a bit annoying not be sleep all the way through. Good luck All.

PepsiMaxandPringleStacks · 31/10/2024 11:00

Week 4 update! I've lost 1stone3.5lbs

Moved on to 5mg yesterday and the suppression was strong, I actually felt yuck when eating my lunch and dinner last night. Woke up this morning sulphur burping but I think that was due to food choices or else not having enough in my stomach!

Just go for it it's fine, although I have been freezing and did have a sore head all day yesterday after upping to 5mg but I usually get that on jab day anyway

ButtSurgery · 31/10/2024 11:08

Took my second 2.5mg injection last night.

I've lost 6lb in my first week which is totally insane.

I'm 20+ stone still but my god, this is truly a miracle. I'm not calorie counting though, I'm working to Slimming World principles ie limiting bread and cereal, plenty of low fat proteins, no sugar etc (none of the "crisps made from lasagne sheets" tripe that some people seem to think it is), and I'm still having a can of full fat coke or a packet of crisps each day as a treat.

That said, we're not really eating meals (DH is doing this too) - it's more large snacks than anything substantial. And a lot of fruit.

I'm upping the exercise so the poor dog is getting two hour long walks a day now 😂 - she's very confused but seems happy enough!

The sore neck side effect can fuck off though.

Thanks, was that your first jab of 5mg? I was toying with 3.75mg but then thought it’s probably wiser to stick to the actual recommended dosage and just stop dithering! I get really cold too!

Pegsmum · 31/10/2024 11:14

@PepsiMaxandPringleStacks Sorry just scrolled back and read your previous post-so realise now you’ve just gone on to 5mg. Well done on your amazing loss! I’ve not weighed this week yet but lost 11lbs over last 4 weeks and quite happy with that. Onwards and downwards 🤞

Nutracheck for me. I've decided to shell out on the premium version (£27 for a year if I remember right). I don’t normally pay for apps but this one seemed worth it. Very user-friendly, and nicely designed. I’ve been able to log meals and recipes. Best thing is it’s UK-oriented and has a v good barcode scanner to avoid having to type in names to search. Not everyone needs these things or cares about them. Fat Secret is a good free app for food logging.
