Well done to you!

I lost another 2 pounds at today’s weigh in. I’ll take that! And with you re slow and steady progress.

SW 14 stone, 1 pound
W1 13 stone, 10 pounds
CW 13 stone, 8 pounds

flowerlady2 · 29/10/2024 08:28

Well done on all the loses and progress everyone!
I’m W1 D4 and I’ve noticed no desire for sweet food which is brilliant. I’m using the WW Glp prog app and have a smaller appetite but definitely not no appetite. Thinking of changing to a cheaper provider for the next order whilst I’m still new to it - I can’t believe the price discrepancy. I’ve used ASDA which I thought was a decent price at the time. Do you get the same ability to ask questions with IQ Doctor etc?

Ilovepeanutbuttersandwiches · 29/10/2024 08:31

Took my 3rd dose on Sunday but am not really feeling any suppression anymore. Have not had many side effects either - other than couple of dashes to the loo after eating something that doesn’t agree with the medicine.

has anyone done the leap from 2.5ml to 5?

Hi all, I've been off Mumsnet for a bit so just catching up on this thread.

Here's my little update:
SW: 12 stones 8.8
CW: 12 stones 1
GW: 10 stones
Height: 5'3 + PCOS

I started on 2.5mg but got some bad side effects that first week, so have done dose 2 and 3 on 1.25mg. Total loss 7.8lb!!

super happy with the progress so far, but going out for a meal tomorrow and feeling a little nervous about being "off track".

Also whoever mentioned chia seeds - omg they cleared things out!

@crumbsonmyface Have heard USA Drs on a couple of podcasts talking about how effective micrdosing can be, one in particular called Dr Tnya is worth listening to. She starts her patients off on a much lower dose than normal, their take on it is the dosing is too high for many people. Personally I would just make my pen last several weeks longer if I was using a lower dose.

KolaKoalaKan · 29/10/2024 08:43

Morning everyone!

Huge well done to everyone on the losses but also sending encouraging to those who have plateaued or are finding it harder.

So I had a wonderful long weekend away but I found food hard. Food would normally be such a part of trips away and the mixture of not fancying and being scared of side effects meant that wasn't there. I felt quite flat in restaurants not getting the same positive feelings from food. After a walk heading to a cafe and the family all enjoying great hunks of beautiful homemade cakes felt a bit pointless for me sat there with a cup of tea. And then, I've just stepped on the scales, and despite feeling deprived I've put on 2lbs?! 😭 So that's like insult to injury! Feeling a bit miz this morning about it. But I guess this is where I need to do some reeducating of my relationship with food? Urgh it's hard.

recklessgran · 28/10/2024 20:54

@AllstarFacilier I've ordered a box of 100 from Amazon - happy to share if anyone ever needs a few! Plenty of jiffy bags here.I've also got a dozen insulin syringes for getting out the bonus doses.
needles

Ohh these look good! I don’t fancy doing the insulin needle way, but I also don’t want to waste any of the medication. It also means the difference between ordering twice in one payday for me. If you’re selling them I’d be interested, as I won’t need a box that big 😂

recklessgran · 29/10/2024 08:53

@AllstarFacilier happy to send you a few - no charge. Have pm'd you.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 29/10/2024 09:17

@KolaKoalaKan oh no, insult to injury indeed, I can totally understand how that makes you feel rubbish. We’ve all had years of feeling guilty/bad about food, both eating it and missing out on it. I think it’ll take a while to undo all those feelings.
I have no words of advice, but it’s a blip, could be hormones/fluid, but I bet your family loved having you there at the cafe nursing your cup of tea x

HansHolbein · 29/10/2024 09:18

Morning all, just did jab 3 2.5mg

Lost 4.7lb this week!

Stats

5’5 PCOS
SW 16st 2.7lbs BMI 37.7
CW 15st 5.5lbs BMI 35.9
Total loss 11.2lbs

Had some insomnia early on and some burps but that has settled now. No other side effects. I do get a bit hungry on day 6 but I don’t do anything about it.

terracottafarm · 29/10/2024 09:33

Good morning, everyone! I did a weigh-in this morning and I’m down 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg) so far. It may not be as much as some, but progress is progress! I’m aiming to be down a full stone by 2nd week of November with some extra movement and focus. Here’s to steady progress!

SW: 11st 5 (72.1 kg)
CW: 10st 10 (68 kg)
GW: 8st 5 (53 kg)
Height: 5’2

KolaKoalaKan · 29/10/2024 09:38

@Iwouldratherbesinging ah thank you, that's so kind and just the pep talk I needed. Going to open up the journal and try and make sense of my thoughts on it all. Why does it feel pointless to be sat in a cafe with just a cup of tea when I was actually really enjoying the kids and the conversation? I know binge eating is my biggest problem but there's also some significant stuff around deprivation and my weight being a sign of my worth. So I've put on weight this week so few bad about myself. I need to unpick the bigger picture that my worth isn't tied to my weight, or how 'good' I am or anything like that. I actually hate the weighing side of it all for this reason. Maybe I shouldn't weigh myself?!

SunQueen24 · 29/10/2024 09:39

@KolaKoalaKan i can understand that - food is such a big part of family and celebration for me. But you were there and you were present so you could still share in the enjoyment.

Could it be your cycle that’s led to the weight gain or water retention?

terracottafarm · 29/10/2024 09:40

@YummyCookie I totally get how you’re feeling! I was at a standstill, too, just last night, but I weighed in this morning and saw I’d lost 3 lbs overnight. Must’ve been holding onto some extra water weight that finally shifted!

Let’s both keep trusting the process and pushing through—it does pay off eventually!

It's so hard, isn't it.

But at least you didn't give in to the cake so you can take a real positive there! If you had eaten the cake, you'd be blaming this temporary blip on you not being strong enough to resist, and feeling worse!

You'll dust yourself off and be back losing lbs in no time.

SunQueen24 · 29/10/2024 10:01

Has anyone experienced throat pain?

I’m only on day 5 so I really doubt it’s anything sinister - but I’ve got an uncomfortable feeling in my throat, it’s tender to touch and is left to the center? It feels like a swollen gland.

I have searched on another group and throat pain seems common but nobody seems to be able to explain why.

letshavetea · 29/10/2024 10:04

@SunQueen24 - it’s tempting to attribute every symptom whilst on MJ to the drug. There’s so many other things it could be - like a virus. I’d take some paracetamol and lots of water. Ask your pharmacist if still unsure. I hope it passes soon.

Yes exactly and I’m aware of that - never observed my body so closely except when pregnant!

Hi, I was exactly the same week 3 the suppression decline started. I took the extra dose on Sunday, I have my 5mg pen but going to do 45 clicks (I think lol) but may end up just doing rg e leap, I will let you know on Sunday

Hi all

I started MJ exactly a week ago.

SW 12st 9
CW 12st 4
GW 10st 4

So far so good, no real side effects other than feeling thirsty a lot even though I've always been one to drink plenty of fluids.

I actually took my 2nd injection 1 day early (yesterday) as I want to get to injecting on Fridays in a couple of weeks time, due to a work trip to the US and not wanting to take medication with me. If I'd known about the trip I'd have sorted out the injection timing in the first place!

Anyone else changed their day around?

I have - I inject a day a week early every week. Been totally fine!

Let me know how you go if you do jump to 5

can I ask what 45 clicks equates to?

TheOtherSide21 · 29/10/2024 10:22

onthecoast · 29/10/2024 07:38

TBH, I think you have that the wrong way round! Though we all have to do what works for us. For me, it’s because weight fluctuates from one day to the next, that it’s a good reason not to weigh daily! I used to get so miserable when I thought I’d had a good day, food wise, but found I’d put on a pound when weighing. Over a week, all those bumps get smoothed out and the net total should nearly always be lower when dieting or using MJ, though odd exceptions can always happen. I’ve been much happier switching to weekly.

I am also firmly in the weight every day camp - especially if you’re recording it. Then even if you do have a fluctuation you can still see that over the course of the past week / month / 90 days the trajectory is still going in the right direction. And you get to learn your body’s routine - I.e I know if I do HIIT cardio after work I’ll probably maintain or increase the next day due to water retention / inflammation.

Weekly weighing can be soul destroying especially if you don’t lose or put on.

So forgive me anyone if I have this wrong but 60 clicks is a full dose so 45 clicks would be 75% of the 5mg. Still 5mg just less volume. I have read blogs where they say it's 3.75mg but it's not 😂😂the dosage is the same just the volume is less. I seem to have morphed into carol vordeman because of MJ
