Also, I noticed people talking about needing to get hold of needles(?)

Just wondered if anyone else used Phlo Clinic for their prescription as I used them and they sent me 100 needles, 100 wipes and a sharps bin with the first order.

recklessgran · 28/10/2024 16:56

@crumbsonmyface thank you so much for that update - it's helped me a lot and reinforced my decision. I know it's not recommended to microdose but I can't see it will be harmful so that's what I'm going to do and will stay on 2.5mgs for my second pen. I'm in this for the long haul so I'll accept a slower loss if it means I can actually function.

Wish I’d have done this too, week 4 was awful here with food noise back and no noticeable suppression. How are you doing on the 5mg? I did my 5mg this morning and suppression is back thankfully!

I didn’t notice any suppression or food noise reduction on 2.5mg which is why I skipped up, food noise was very much heightened I think as I was trying to notice if I was feeling it less 🤷‍♀️ jabbed yesterday and still not noticing effects really, if it’s working I’ll be happy as I don’t want to be in the position where I can’t eat at all, but I def can eat and want to eat and feel hungry

Sorry to hear it's been such a struggle! Yeah I honestly wasn't sure whether to even continue after week 1, but I guess it just hit some of us hard! I know we all have to make our own decisions on this, but in case it helps I did speak to my prescriber about going rogue and they were ok about me injecting a lower dose (they just said see how it goes and titrate up slowly when I'm ready).

Let me know how you get on! There's not many of us in the same boat :)

recklessgran · 28/10/2024 17:57

@crumbsonmyface thank you - I'm with MedExpress but to be honest I wasn't planning on telling them as I know micro-dosing is a bit controversial. I think I'll just sort it myself - I think it will be 30 clicks for 1.25mgs so I'll try that and see what happens. I'll definitely only be ordering 2.5mgs for my next pen and will just take what comes even if I have to exercise extra self control. It's got to be better than what's happening at the moment I reckon.

TheChosenTwo · 28/10/2024 18:12

I’m a couple of days into my first dose and what I’ve noticed is I’m not craving sugar and haven’t wanted to snack. Still eating normal sized meals and not cutting anything out but no sugar cravings and no post work snacking is strange to me. Great but strange.
There was a box of biscuits in the staffroom today and I probably walked past it 10 times (refilling my water bottle!) and not once did I even feel interested enough to lift the lid and have three.
I’m not sure that my appetite has been suppressed as I’m certainly not feeling the sense of ‘fullness’ as others are but I’m just enjoying the journey.

Bellablahhole · 28/10/2024 18:41

I'm mid-way through week 4 and the moderate supression I had in weeks 1 -3 is disappearing fast. Trying really hard to eat healthy meals but it's a challenge! Thankfully I ordered 5mg for my next pen - I think I'm ready to step up.

Jabjabjab · 28/10/2024 18:54

Did my second jab last night and weigh in this morn and have lost 10 pounds in the week! Most of it is probably alcohol and am expecting it to slow massively down but am so happy and keep thinking have lost the equivalent of an average newborn and a couple of litre bottles of water 😀. I haven’t felt deprived, have eaten 3 small meals a day and have had a glass of wine each night. Am now terrified the bubble will burst and something will stop working as I can’t let myself believe that an issue I have struggled with for 40 years might just get beaten. Plus I have felt generally lighter in mood. If the bubble doesn’t burst for some reason then this is a miracle drug!

I looked on IQDoctor and even without a code its £20 cheaper than my current supplier after their discount code. I could not see a discount code on the homepage for IQDoctor tho. Its still a good price.

I can't seem to get a copy of my prescription to download/share on my current provider - pharmacy2u to send to IQDoctor. Do I need to share this with them to go for the next higher dose?

The code is OCT23 from memory.

it’s listed on the monj.co.uk website.

I took a screenshot of my order email for the first pen and sent that. No problems.

@EdgyPeachPoet did your suppression return at all through your second week? I’m scared I’ll go back to overeating already 🙈 have managed to fight the urge so far today and make healthy choices but the ‘food noise’ is definitely back.

My food noise came back over the weekend, I went with a hot chocolate and a small kitkat and stopped there. Previously it would have been much worse and a total bingefest so trying to find a balance in here and some good "treat" habits..

When you do 1.25, how do you use up your pen if they only send 4 needles?

Checked my weight this morning and feeling a bit down—still at 10st 13. I’m now on week 4 with Mounjaro, but I didn’t see any loss last week. It was a heavier week with food and drinks for my birthday, but I didn’t go too far overboard and kept up with 10k steps daily.

I even had to take my injection a day early to handle cravings. Trying to stay positive but feeling a bit stuck.

SW: 11st 5
CW: 10st 13
GW: 8st 6

Anyone else hit a plateau around week 4? Any tips for pushing through?

HansHolbein · 28/10/2024 19:36

Gosh I can’t keep up with this thread! I’m going away for a few days so hopefully I can check in a bit more..

3rd jab for me tomorrow. Still don’t care about food. My auntie bought my children a fuck ton of goodies for Halloween and I didn’t have any. I just didn’t care. Normally I would try and inhale them!

Biscuits/chocolate/crisps/bread are going untouched. It’s just amazing.

Well done to all new starters and weight loss! Thinking of all struggling. As long as we keep going.. that’s the main thing.

I had complete appetite suppression the first week and was really controlled with my food. Had my second jab yesterday and I’m starving today fighting the urge to binge 😭 has anyone else experienced this? Was really enjoying not being bothered by food.

I'm in a similarish position.

Week 1, appetite massively suppressed for first 5 days then started creeping back.

This is week 2, took my jab last night and actually had to go check the pen when I got home from work to double check I'd take a dose as I'm definitely hungrier today although not as much as I'd usually be - compared to last Monday I've got a much bigger appetite. Thankfully no side effects (yet) this time. I injected into me leg rather than stomach this time so wondering if that's a factor.

Yes I am in week 4 and I’ve been at a standstill for a week now. No tips on pushing through, I’m not yet through the other side, we just need to trust the process and keep going!

Jab 4 yesterday so 3rd weigh in

SW 21st 9.4lbs (BMI 43.5)
CW 20st 13.4lbs (BMI 42.1)
GW 12st 6lbs (BMI 25)

Lost 5lb this week! 3.8, 1.2, 5.0 - So a total of 10lbs

rockingbird · 29/10/2024 07:01

That's amazing @WafflingDreamer well done 👏

Same! We've got a bottle of fizz chilling away and a red for later. I LOVE my wine, but I haven't fancied a glass since my first injection (okay, that was only on Wednesday Grin)

I'm probably going to try to have a bit and see how I feel. Seriously, if this thing can help me lose weight, quiet my ADHD mind AND help me drink less wine, I'm pledging my undying allegience!

I had a glass of red wine last night (W1D7) and it gave me an instant headache. Horrible feeling, had to go to bed early. I’ve had zero temptation to drink alcohol in my first 6 days which is brilliant as I overdo the wine, but when I got to day 7 I suppose the jab was wearing off and I fell for it. I’ll not make that mistake again, especially as I now have ⅔ of a bottle of nice red wine that looks like going to waste. I also am diagnosed ADHD (which I generally have no problem with — ADHD can be fun!) but I have noticed in W1 an improvement in certain behaviours eg not being quite so obsessive about certain things, being more decisive, and having a bit more 'get up and go' (not to mention no alcohol). Not massively so, but enough to encourage me that MJ could have a lot more benefits than simply weight loss.

ItsMintUpNorth · 29/10/2024 07:30

@onthecoast if the wine would otherwise go down the sink, freeze it in an ice cube tray and use for cooking!

onthecoast · 29/10/2024 07:38

ItsMintUpNorth · 26/10/2024 07:10

I weigh daily and totally normal for your weight to fluctuate so much, that's the idea behind daily weighing as it means if your weekly weigh day fell on a day where you had gained some weight you might not get as disheartened as you know your weight had been lower during the week. Before I weighed daily if I ever gained on weigh day I'd binge and throw the towel in but likelihood is I might have weighed 2lbs less at some point during the week. There's so many factors that make your weight fluctuate daily which we can't control.

TBH, I think you have that the wrong way round! Though we all have to do what works for us. For me, it’s because weight fluctuates from one day to the next, that it’s a good reason not to weigh daily! I used to get so miserable when I thought I’d had a good day, food wise, but found I’d put on a pound when weighing. Over a week, all those bumps get smoothed out and the net total should nearly always be lower when dieting or using MJ, though odd exceptions can always happen. I’ve been much happier switching to weekly.

PolaDeVeboise · 29/10/2024 07:39

Possibly a daft question, but is it the same process when you move up a dose, 2 clicks to prime, then till '1' comes in the window?

ItsMintUpNorth · 29/10/2024 07:46

@onthecoast like you say it's definitely what works for each person! But that's the reason I started weighing daily as was the method recommended by quite a few people online when I started a few years ago, for me I'm not so used to my weight fluctuating that I don't bat an eyelid if I'm 2lbs heavier than the day before despite a good food day as I know that if I am truly in a calorie deficit the overall trend will still be down. Whereas if I weighed weekly and happened to be 2lb hevaver on the day I weighed I would be gutted and dive head first into the biscuit tin Grin.

ItsMintUpNorth · 29/10/2024 07:30

Oh sure, it won’t literally be wasted as I can cook with it. But it wasn’t a cheap bottle. I thought I’d treat myself which was a stupid and expensive mistake! Still, perhaps it’ll make my spag bol taste even nicer than usual!

Yup, exactly that
