Suppose it depends on how much is used following priming, think he guessed it was slightly less than half a dose (but could of been less)

Thank you, did you twist the 60 clicks for the bonus dose and the. Additional clicks for the remainder?

YummyCookie · 28/10/2024 13:44

@Taxiparent i did the bonus dose yesterday and got 0.7ml out of it. Which would be around 2.9mg.

Yeah, forced it once to get the initial dose out, changed the needle, then it was an easy twist for the rest, just double checked with him and he thinks was 0.7 in total

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 28/10/2024 14:15

Total loss so far 13.3lb. Think I might weigh every four weeks so on Friday and then not for another 4 weeks.

Gr3atEscape · 28/10/2024 14:20

Day one of half term and already feeling the stress. It is becoming so obvious to me that normally I would turn to sugary food to help me but now that doesn't have the same appeal. I find my mind is at a lose end though. Does anyone have any good healthy coping mechanisms you can use when you have zero time to yourself (a bath or a walk isn't going to be the one with the kids at home)

SunQueen24 · 28/10/2024 14:29

@Gr3atEscape being trapped by small kids is something that gets me too - you can’t do all the self help stuff when you’ve got small children.

rockingbird · 28/10/2024 14:42

I can't seem to eat 😞 coupled with yet another twist in the marriage breakup I'm literally shaking within. I'm drinking water but that's it - if I so much as look at food I feel sick. I've done one zoom meeting and stared at my laptop all day since but done nothing.

Oh that sounds really tough. Probably stress is adding to the effects of the medication causing you to be so disinterested. Poor you

autumn1610 · 28/10/2024 15:01

I skipped my week 4 2.5mg in the end and went for the 5mg yesterday. Is it possible people don’t react to the jabs 🤣 im just waiting for something to feel different and see everyone having side effects and stuff but I don’t feel like im getting the appetite suppression I was hoping for.

SW - 13st 10lb
CW - 13st 7lb
GW - 11st 7lb

I think many people don't feel anything until 7.5mg, there are then another fraction that don't feel it till 10. There is a term "late responders" but I don't think that includes not feeling anything on 2.5 or 5 as I think they are still considered to be introduction doses.

Carlyisla · 28/10/2024 15:25

I had complete appetite suppression the first week and was really controlled with my food. Had my second jab yesterday and I’m starving today fighting the urge to binge 😭 has anyone else experienced this? Was really enjoying not being bothered by food.

EdgyPeachPoet · 28/10/2024 15:51

@rockingbird I had something similar - felt ‘spaced out’ most of the first week. It seemed to improve by the end of week two. Hope it gets better for you.

@Carlyisla I experienced that too! Really noticed the lack of suppression and return of food noise mid/end of week two. Hoping suppression returns again soon!

Well done! I think I'm going to do the same. I was on holiday last week so couldn't weigh so think I'll just weigh every four weeks. Otherwise I get quite obsessed by scales and I want to try and avoid that this time.

Carlyisla · 28/10/2024 16:00

@EdgyPeachPoet did your suppression return at all through your second week? I’m scared I’ll go back to overeating already 🙈 have managed to fight the urge so far today and make healthy choices but the ‘food noise’ is definitely back.

It did return but no where near as much as week 1. I did have some background nausea so it may have been that that stopped me eating. Not giving in to the urge to snack and over eat has been more challenging for sure - I keep reminding my self how expensive it is in the hope that I don’t give in to the food noise!

Yes! Exactly this. I'm trying to ignore the urge to eat.

autumn1610 · 28/10/2024 16:19

@Gr3atEscape that’s good to know! I just see everyone’s losses and think what’s wrong with me! I’m not too fussed about seeing the big losses but a nice steady 2-3lbs a week where it’s more sustainable would be good

recklessgran · 28/10/2024 16:19

I'm on week two as well. I jabbed on Friday morning and could hardly eat over the weekend as had total suppression, felt stuffed and had waves of nausea. I also felt absolutely shattered and had a bit of a headache which I assume was due to dehydration even though I was sipping water continually. I spent most of yesterday in bed. Today I've managed a bowl of homemade chicken soup but still feel awful. If this carries on I'm going to seriously consider either skipping or making my next jab a microdose of 1.25mgs otherwise I can't see me being able to continue sadly. Like others on here, I have a lot of caring duties and can't afford to be under par for days on end like this. I'm also due to go on a much anticipated holiday next week and want to be on top form for that as I know DH will be upset if I'm not feeling up to all he has planned. Such a dilemma!

Carlyisla · 28/10/2024 16:25

@ApolloandDaphne its disheartening after feeling so in control and motivated last week but I think I’ll be relying a lot more on willpower until I go on a higher dose 🙈

crumbsonmyface · 28/10/2024 16:31

Hi all, I've been off Mumsnet for a bit so just catching up on this thread.

Here's my little update:
SW: 12 stones 8.8
CW: 12 stones 1
GW: 10 stones
Height: 5'3 + PCOS

I started on 2.5mg but got some bad side effects that first week, so have done dose 2 and 3 on 1.25mg. Total loss 7.8lb!!

super happy with the progress so far, but going out for a meal tomorrow and feeling a little nervous about being "off track".

Also whoever mentioned chia seeds - omg they cleared things out!

I had this week 4, it was like I hadn’t injected at all which was so annoying as most weeks I’d had at least a few days of suppression!! So sorry you’re experiencing this and really hope some suppression kicks in soon for you.

Wish I’d have done this too, week 4 was awful here with food noise back and no noticeable suppression. How are you doing on the 5mg? I did my 5mg this morning and suppression is back thankfully!

Thanks @financialcareerstuff and @Iwouldratherbesinging you’re both right it’s early days and I’ll just keep going. I have downloaded the free my fitness pal app version so I can track my calories and protein.

I’m hoping that will help!

I use Nutracheck to monitor calories and it’s absolutely brilliant for UK users, you can scan/search most things from UK supermarkets and even has Gousto on there! Always found MFP tricky to use personally

TheBeeGees · 28/10/2024 16:53

Hi all

I started MJ exactly a week ago.

SW 12st 9
CW 12st 4
GW 10st 4

So far so good, no real side effects other than feeling thirsty a lot even though I've always been one to drink plenty of fluids.

I actually took my 2nd injection 1 day early (yesterday) as I want to get to injecting on Fridays in a couple of weeks time, due to a work trip to the US and not wanting to take medication with me. If I'd known about the trip I'd have sorted out the injection timing in the first place!

Anyone else changed their day around?
