I'm just looking to chat with others who have a lot to loose .
It feels daunting, and it's going to be expensive.
I'm currently week 3 on monjroro

Hi @Cakesandcookiesnomore I'm on 7.5mg which i have been for the last 22 weeks. I had hair loss, but that has now pretty much resolved itself and I have lots of short regrowth happening. I am cold all the time, but I've got used to it and wear lots of layers and have multiple hot water bottles/blankets in bed. I am lucky in that I am generally not tired all the time, I usually have more energy than before I was on Mounjaro.

I have another 4.5 stone to lose, my losses have slowed down recently to 0.5 to 1.5 pounds a week, so I think I will move up to 10mg for my next pen.

The cold all the time won't seem so bad in the summer .
7.5 worked well for you then

Hi @Cakesandcookiesnomore, sorry to hear you’re still feeling rough on this, I did have some hair loss, but had hair loss prior as well, due to menopause probably. It seems to have slowed somewhat but I have long curly hair and I think because it’s long it feels worse than it actually is, it gets every where!
I have done 2 months on 10 mg, I have one dose left then move up to 12.5, I’m also permanently cold which is a really novel experience. I can’t wait for the temperature to warm up a bit.
I always seem to have a headache on jab day, but sorry you're getting migraines, that doesn’t sound pleasant.
Im still averaging 2lbs a week, how are your losses? I know you don’t like weighing yourself though, are clothes feeling.
I don’t think I’m anywhere near ready to think about going it alone, the thought terrifies me at the moment..

Possibly I'm only posting on here when Im feeling it's not working..there are days when I feel it's going ok .
Maybe I'm coming across as to negative.
I certainly can't imagine how I would loose weight without it
I'm not keen on weighing myself no ,but I need to make the effort
I have very long hair to ,so that could be why I feel I loose a lot of it .
And I will be glad to be cold in the summer as I hate the heat .
Some weeks I've not lost anything, but I'm approx 4 stone down ..it just feels very very slow

4 stone down since the end of October is a brilliant achievement! I’ve been going since mid October and I’m 1lb short of three stone which I’m more than happy with. You need to give yourself some credit, you’ve done brilliantly ☺️

I've been going since the start of September and I've not lost 3 stone yet. You are doing brilliantly!

Bibulous · 24/02/2025 17:17

I've also lost a bit over four stone since mid-October. My weight loss graph is very up-and-down from day to day but it's the trend that's important and if you've lost that much in that short a period of time you've got to be averaging 2-3lbs a week. You really don't want to be losing more than that. None of us got to the weight we are overnight so it's not all going to vanish overnight either. But you're making really good progress!

TorturedParentsDepartment · 24/02/2025 18:31

I lose around 2 lb a week - 3 1/2 stone down since the end of October. It feels slow, and it can't half feel like a slog but I'm hoping that the steady pace means I'll end up with less issues such as hair loss and loose skin over time (I'm resigned to rocking the deflated balloon look).

I've felt like I'm getting nowhere - but then tonight I optimistically bought some 2 XL tracksuit bottoms from the women's bit of Priimark and they fit! I could cry with joy at being able to buy anything from a normal clothes shop.

Cakesandcookiesnomore · 01/03/2025 06:28

This week I've had 3 different people say how they can tell I've lost weight .one said I look trim ,one said she didn't recognise me walking over ,as I'd lost so much weight.
I just can't see it myself, and it feels like it's taking forever
Logically I know slower is better for long term and less loose skin.
I'm getting really stuck in a rut food wise again

My hairdresser just greeted me with "look at you skinny bitch" (she knows I'm on the jabs) - so I'm assuming it's showing!

I've ground to a halt ,I'm approx 4 stone down ,but it's really slowing now .
I'm and I'm hungry a lot ..I'm on 1200 calories,or trying to be .
It just feels such a slog and I'm so tired

Although I'm not craving any bad foods,I definitely prefer decent meals and no crap is being consumed..but I still want big meals ..I wish my appetite would decrease

OP posts:
Iwouldratherbesinging · 11/03/2025 18:23

Are you still on 7.5mg or did you move up to 10? I know we’re not all the same but the difference between 7.5 and 10 for me was amazing. I still get hungry (which I want) but get full very quick, if I eat breakfast then I’m usually full until dinner time for at least four days of the week, then I have three days having three meals a day. I’m on 12.5 now and am debating on drawing out 10mg on my next dose…

I have no idea how many calories I am eating but I’m still losing a steady 1.5 to 2.5 lbs a week, you started later than me and have lost more than I have, I’m really happy with my progress and you are frustrated with yours. We are all on different journeys, but I know that there is no way that I would have lost this much weight in this short amount of time on my own (you said earlier it feels like it’s taking forever - don’t wish your life away ☺️).

I’m not sure what I’m trying to say, but try to see the positives in what you have done and are continuing to do, you should be proud!

Cakesandcookiesnomore · 12/03/2025 06:06

I've just so much to loose ,I want it so badly..I can't eat any less than I am doing.
I'm hungry all the time ,I just ignore it .
I'm on 10 mg ..I probably need to move up to 12 ..
I've such a long road to go ,that I don't want to get to 15 and find it stops working before I've lost all my weight.
I just want a BMI in the normal range ,
My life is on hold untill I've got the weight off .or at least a chunk of the weight of
There definitely are positives .I completely gave up crisps well before I started mj.and I'm proud I managed that .
My starting weight was horrendous,so even 4 stone of it's still horrendous.
I should really join some other threads and read up how other people are doing

Come and join us over on the 10 stone or more to lose thread, it’s a lovely supportive bunch of people, all at different points in their journey 😊
15mg is the maximum maintenance dose, the results from the Surmount trial showed that the most weight loss was achieved with the 15mg dose, it doesn’t just stop working, that’s a line that’s been flying around on social media. After the 72 week trial, people on 15mg were still losing weight. If 10mg is not working for you then I would move up when ready rather than paying for something that I feel isn’t helping me.

@Cakesandcookiesnomore I completely understand how you feel. I have had a long way to go, been doing this since July last year and I am still at a weight that other people are starting at. Still obese, although "only" Class 1 obese now. It is such a long slog, and my weight loss has also slowed down recently. I've stuck with 7.5mg for a long time, I don't get side effects and I am still losing weight at an acceptable rate, even if it's slower than I would like. I don't get the occasional "whoosh" week anymore, just a steady 1 or 2 pounds a week. Sometimes nothing, or a slight gain. But the trend is still down, long term.

Cakesandcookiesnomore · 13/03/2025 12:52

Thanks guys .yes I have joined the other group.
I feel the same ,like even with what I lost I'm still heavier than 99% of people starting.its very depressing.
And I am seriously thinking of going up to 12 next time ,I was just worried of getting to 15 and it not working and still having weight to loose .
Plus compared to others I'm very lucky with the lack of side effects
I'm just tired and loosing hair .
I definitely can't complain at that ..so that's been putting me of moving up to 12 .
Ut my diet is totally clean ,so maybe that's helping with lack of side effects

4.5 months in and people are now noticing and saying complimentary things. I’ve noticed how I am treated differently now I am less fat but I still have 3.5 stone to go just to not be obese. 13.7 stone is my current target - I’ll be ‘over weight’ then. To be in the healthy range I need to lose another 6 stone.

Started 1st November at 23 stone and mostly weight has decreased but for three weeks in December I ate what I wanted and gained a pound. So far -5 stone 10.5lbs. Another 6 stone seems so daunting.
