Hi guys, I hope it's OK if I join your thread. I've been reading through the posts and you're all so supportive. I've just this morning done my 2nd jab of 2.5. I started off a week ago and 21st 1, 5' 6", tough times over the years affected my weight and it has piled on. I've felt completely lost, trying to focus on everyone else being OK that my health fell by the way side. I'm prediabetic and have high blood pressure so I decided I wanted to take control. I've done fad diets and yo-yo'd but I am determined this is it this time.
I have changed my diet, I am a toast addict so have cut my bread intake to 1 or 2 slices in the morning or none at all depending how I feel. I'm eating plenty protein and lots of fruit and veggies (all started last wednesday). I have a very active job, usually 13,000-17,000 steps per 12 hour shift, but, I'm also studying for a nursing degree so have found days I'm not working I'm either sat at the computer or slob on the couch in a brain and body fog. So this last week I've set up a treadmill in the spare room and have made myself do at least half an hour walking on the treadmill, at a time where I maybe would sit on the couch. I'm making sure I try to hit 10,000 steps or as close as I can every day.
I just weighed this morning before my 2nd jab and the scales say 20 stone 5! That's -10lb! I understand this will slow down but it has given me a boost to confirm what I'm doing is right.
I was terrified of side effects, my first jab, about 4 hours later I felt very burpy and nauseous, and incredibly tired but I was ok the next day. I feel like my brain is more focused and I have more energy. I've got peptac and mint tea, oh and cream crackers which help with the nausea. I have IBS and had my gallbladder removed in 2017, I actually feel like my gastric symptoms are actually better since starting!
Hoping I can join you on the bumpy journey!
