@MabelSpan it’s great to share your experiences although I am sorry you went through that.

I have noticed more warnings linking Mounjaro to depression and suicide. For example Eli Lily’s website has a warning, and MedExpress has a disclaimer when you complete their online consultation form, signposting you to your GP. So it’s probably not just you that has experienced that.

eeeeeeeee · 24/10/2024 12:42

Btw has anyone started buying new clothes yet?

I’m really struggling with this. Have no idea what my dress size is, it doesn’t help that the sizing is totally random between brands. I bought a bunch of dresses and trousers from PLT & ASOS. Ending up returning most of it.

owlyboo · 24/10/2024 12:55

@MabelSpan I'm the same! I have a very weird pattern with weight loss which is probably why I don't worry about the other weighs just find them interesting.

Mine usually goes weight day (sat) loss then Sunday maintain loss, Monday/Tuesday usually up a kg or so. Then wed/thurs sometimes even Friday back to weight loss weight and then (so far 🤞) weight loss again on the Saturday and so on! Very strange!

@eeeeeeeee I'm going shopping tomorrow but sticking to practical things like coat/leggings etc. as it's winter and I wfh and don't have to wear anything in particular I can get away with my baggy t shirts and jumpers for now and (hopefully) emerge like a butterfly in the spring 😂😂 although I do need a black dress for a night out next week so I will be on the look out for one... has to be black as I'm cat (Halloween!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2024 12:56

@mm81736 sorry off the wagon. Hope things better this week

It is annoying how suppliers give discounts and reel you in

@Timetochange24 sorry not sure what your chart is showing

@NippyCrab love an ommlette

@MargoLivebetter glad ds finally did the job

@Changinghabits1973 this is why I don't weigh every day

@poppym12 speedy recovery

@eeeeeeeee so are you going for 10? I've ordered mine

@MabelSpan that's a fab NSV

I still can't get into mine. Need another 2st loss prob

But sorry to hear of dark thoughts

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2024 12:59

Im def Hungary today

I need 7.5 Tom

Sighs

Just made a chicken salad for lunch

Just had email from Royal Mail and 10 pen will be delivered Tom

Which is great as half term next week and be out a lot

I do begrudge the price of med express as no discount but equally the ease of ordering yesterday evening and approved in 2hrs and dispatched today to arrive tomorrow is a Big plus

Wingingit11 · 24/10/2024 13:03

@MabelSpan I’m so sorry to hear it’s been a tricky period - I messaged on the group actually wondering how you were I think after the double dose. I have definitely read about effects on MH via the oushk group. I hope you are feeling better now 💐

OP posts:
poppym12 · 24/10/2024 13:08

Thank you @eeeeeeeee, that's really interesting. I don't do much in the way of exercise due to the stupid ME and the fact that my bloody meniscus tear is still not healed but randomly, I do sweat (in between not being able to get warm). Even before menopause, I couldn't seem to control my body temperature very well.

poppym12 · 24/10/2024 13:11

I'm sorry to hear that @MabelSpan. I'm glad those very unwanted side effects are waning.

I always feel really jittery the day after my injection. Fortunately not full blown anxiety, just jittery, restless and fed up.

NippyCrab · 24/10/2024 13:38

@MabelSpan I'm so sorry you had that experience. I posted on another thread about GLP-1 and it's effects on depression and anxiety. I have 2 MH conditions and I'm on meds. The pharmacist from Oushk called me when I had a wee MH crisis, I was sorted out with my GP who said she didn't think it was linked to the MJ but it happened after I took the bonus dose which was around 3.3mg. I'm a MJ lightweight too 😂
@poppym12 glad you are feeling a bit better. ME is the pits! Hugs.
I can't remember the exact details but you need to drink enough or your fat cells hold onto water, and there was something about the liver. I will go and get the book 📖
@Blondeshavemorefun 10mg is your magic dose, x
@weaseleyes I've been dithering about weighing, only because I've sts the last 2 weigh ins (or 3) but I agree with @owlyboo if I start messing about with not weighing i won't stay on track. So Friday weigh in it is. I will continue to measure too each month.

I had a rubbish walk today urgh, for some reason there were a lot of tourists at the beach I went to. Scatty people with equally scatty pain in the arse mutts 😂. Then my brats found a dead seal and proceeded to drag it along the sand between the 3 of them! Evil dogs! Oh and we had campers, with rubbish piled up outside the tent and a cloud of weed smoke, seemingly another local walker came across a load of poo that had been dumped from a camper van and her dog rolled in it 🤣 horrific but I laughed because it's usually me with the dramatics.

I'm sorry to hear that @MabelSpan. I'm glad those very unwanted side effects are waning.

I always feel really jittery the day after my injection. Fortunately not full blown anxiety, just jittery, restless and fed up.

Me too the day after I jab. It hasn't been so bad this week fortunately, perhaps because I've been ready for it and armed with all my CBT tips and tricks. I think I've posted about it before - like a sudden plunge into doom and despair and then completely fine a day later.

Pinkjenny · 24/10/2024 14:00

I'm here but being a bit miserable because I just feel like I've made no progress in the last 2/3 weeks. Due to start 7.5 this weekend and hoping it makes a difference.

Hope everyone is well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2024 14:17

@NippyCrab lol at calling your beloved dogs brats 😂😂

And Poogate tho sad about the seal

@Pinkjenny 💐 please try and R.E.M. for many that 2.5/5 are starter doses

7.5/10 and even higher is when most get good results

But you have lost weight so don't be too disheartened

MabelSpan · 24/10/2024 14:25

@eeeeeeeee I was hit with very strong, but quite calculated, matter of fact, suicidal thoughts and separately some intense crying spells for no reason. Each lasted only a short time, then would vanish as quickly as they started, returning randomly over a period of a few days. It was quite strange.

@Wingingit11 Thank you so much for asking after me. I am completely fine again now and have been for the last day or two. When it comes to medication, I am always the person that has either no reaction, when I should, or a weird unexpected reaction, when I shouldnt.
Lesson learned. I now have my colour coded, idiot proof MJ doses sheet so I shouldnt make any more silly mistakes!

@NippyCrab Sorry you have experienced similar feelings when you did your bonus jab, us MJ lightweights must stick together! I guess the good thing now is that we know if it happens again, especially if we have increased our dose, that it is just a side effect and it will pass.
Also we can share it on here if we wish. As I said before I wasnt sure if I should, but now I am glad I have and I think its important, especially as we know that providers read these boards, that they are aware off real experiences and add more warnings about these more extreme side effects.

Thank you @poppym12 Its so strange and interesting how we all react so differently to MJ.

@Blondeshavemorefun Thanks, sure it wont be long before you fit into yours!

A big general thank you to you all. You are all wonderful! I hope our little August gang stays together for as long as we want and need it to, oh goodness, that could be years😆😊

Fuffedoff · 24/10/2024 14:43

We are 4 days into our Cornwall holiday. I'm down 0.6lb which I'm happy with. I've been mindful of what I'm eating but have had some treats. It's more I'm able to in moderation now and know my limit.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2024 16:22

Scary how for those that find doses too strong also get dark thoughts 🥲💐

So weird how effects us all so diff

Def share good and bad as tbh no one else can understand 💖

@Fuffedoff well done on loss

owlyboo · 24/10/2024 16:53

@NippyCrab dead seal 😳😳😳 that must have been quite a sight being dragged along the beach!

@Pinkjenny if you've been within calories you will soon HAVE to loose weight in predicting a whoosh 🤞🤞

@Fuffedoff I love you've taken your scales! 😂😂 dedication!! Well done on the loss so far!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2024 16:58

Remind how @Pinkjenny of the weight you have lost and on 5 is that right

How many weeks sts

I had 3 and it was awful so I do understand your pain x

Pinkjenny · 24/10/2024 17:13

I had a gain last week, haven't weighed in yet this week but I feel like I've had no physical changes in weeks. I've lost 1st 5lb, 9th weigh in tomorrow.

It's hard not to get fed up when you feel like everyone else is losing loads.

Stupid, I know.

Busy few days for me and now you’re on thread #7😂- will have to do some catching up reading later.
Well done @Changinghabits1973 on your loss🎉
Love your walk photos @owlyboo - looking very spooky & Halloweenish today!
Almost a week into my first 7.5mg jab & apart from feeling really tired the first couple of days I feel guilty for having to say that I have no other side effects. I’m so sorry to all those who are suffering. I honestly thought I’d be that person before I started, it’s come as a real surprise that I feel ok.
Felt thinner when I woke up this morning, so sneaky weigh & I’ve lost another 2lbs since Friday- crazy! I’ve not done anything different from the last few weeks, same calories etc… only thing different is that I’m on a higher dose.

I’ve been on 7.5mg for three weeks now and have to say for side effects I found 5mg the worst. Sulphur burps, heartburn, constipation! Whereas now I’m tired for a couple of days but that’s it. I started taking a pile of vitamins today though to try and combat that. Hadn’t been taking anything before xxx

I’ve not been a massive loser week to week. At most I’ve had a 4lb loss but that was only once. I tend to be 2lb on average a week.

I know how you feel when you see massive losses but we’re all different and a loss is still a loss.

SW 16st6lb
SW on Mounjaro 15st11lb
CW 14st3lbs

I started on 02/08 so 12 weeks in. 1st 8lb gone……..2st 3lbs in total.

owlyboo · 24/10/2024 19:23

@Pinkjenny it's not stupid. It's human nature to contrast and compare and find it frustrating! But the important thing is you're losing. You're still in a much better position than you were before you started. Flowers

Not stupid at all

Many have lost a lot more then me so I do understand

Sure last weeks gain will be off Tom and more

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2024 19:38

I think I have lost similar @Pinkjenny on mj tho did 1.1 before but that took 3mths

@MrsHerbs79 luckily I have never had the delight of a sulphur burp or even a normal one

What's the diff with a sulphar one ?

NippyCrab · 24/10/2024 19:43

@Blondeshavemorefun they are either brats or my Dh's when they are naughty 😆

@owlyboo luckily it must have been about for a while as it wasn't blubbery, the skin was easily coming off. Small seal, we get a lot washed up, it's horrible. We get the odd sheep too 🤢. I the boys on leads quickly but the horrible feral bitch was running away with the skull 💀

@Pinkjenny it's so frustrating isn't it, I'm weighing tomorrow and if I STS again I'll be your wee pal moping about 😀

Go you @MrsHerbs79 that's fab, i started on the 5th of August and coveting my next 2lbs as that's me at 2st loss too.

Pinkjenny · 24/10/2024 19:50

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
