@MissBPotter snap, I am also feeling a bit constipated and bloated so hoping that once that sorts itself out it’ll bring me down by a pound or two! And am also very short so tend to have quite slow weight loss anyway. I’m expecting plenty of stalls along the way so just have to keep plodding on.

Good point, it’s a marathon not a sprint! I did just measure myself and might have lost a couple more cm, so that’s good. Most has come off my waist.

I did my 5th dose yesterday of the 2.5ml pen - the bonus dose. I don't know how much I injected, how do you know? Heard it can be up to 0.9? Anyway I feel like utter shit, definitely feels like more, the suppression is way more than I experienced. Also my legs hurt so much, really really achy. Anyone else get this?

Can ask about plateaus too, do you guys find you lose a bunch then it stops or you put on a small amount again, and then you make some big drops and repeat? This is what seems to be happening for me. Haven't lost anything for a few days

morbidcuriosity · 23/10/2024 09:34

How did you do the bonus? . If it was the hard twist way then you would of had a standard dose.. if you use a syringe then you calculate the mg. 0.6 ml is standard size.. so if you syringe 0.7 or 0.8 then it will be a bit stronger..

Plateaus and ups and down are totally normal. If you monitor it over a few months you start to see trends where you'll have a slow loss or gain the week before period then a big loss the week of period. Gains or plateaus after a particularly salty takeaway or day of big hard exercise or whatever.

20bloodypounds · 23/10/2024 10:40

@MissBPotter losses around your waist are particulalry important. You may still feel like you've got a lot of external 'flab' but the important thing is that you will have lost visceral fat from around your organs - that's a real health boost.

@farfromperfect6 on any weight loss regime, most people don't lose consistently day after day after day. As infosec posted there are many reasons for this, plus after a significant and fast loss (which you've probably had a in just a few weeks) your body really needs to convince itself that you are not starving and that it doesn't need to conserve energy and hold on to fat. The best thing for a stall is to keep eating healthily - protein, veg, some fat e.g. from eggs, avocado, olive oil.

Same @alwaysscared although I'm 3days in on 3.75(45clicks) can barely eat anything. Thinking I'll buy some anti sickness tablets tomorrow. This is the 2nd week on 3.75..

spinningisthebest · 24/10/2024 09:21

First stone off. Clothes I thought had shrunk in the wash now fit. Cloths that were my go to previously now need to be hitched up. On 5 mg with nausea, and varying between being bunged up and not wanting to stray from the loo. I am not enjoying the constant low level nausea reminds me of morning sickness- and wondering if this is what it would be like if I chose to stay on it long term because it isn't pleasant. I have my second 5 mg pen ready to go- definitely don't want to up the dose to 7.5 yet. I am delighted by the weight loss so far and happy it is gradual. I have been really comfortable with IF, so have dropped breakfast and yesterday due to work commitments had my first meal at 2 pm but that was really too late. I now prefer black coffee to white- it's true that tastes change.

GoldieLocks09 · 24/10/2024 10:18

Checking in! On our final day of our week long all inclusive holiday and took a sneaky look at the scales provided in the bathroom - I’ve lost 2lbs! Amazed.. my DH said that I’ve not eaten a lot but I genuinely think I’ve eaten more than I thought I would and definitely haven’t missed out, had at least 1 pina colada in the day and a glass or 2 of rosè per night (minimum - some days considerably more!) still only on 2.5mg and I somehow messed up my second order and reordered it 2.5mg instead of 5mg but I'm now down 1st 2lbs in exactly 1 month (started 24th Sept) so happy to stay on 2.5mg as it’s doing the trick!

suze12 · 24/10/2024 20:10

It’s the end of week 6 for me and I’ve had a very disappointing 1lb gain this week! I injected 3.75mg last week as was worried about jumping to 5mg but it seems as though it wasn’t enough. Sipression hasn’t been great for a while now and I think I’m eating too much (although still so much less than before). I’ve had a really busy week at work and stressful time in my personal life so potentially also having an impact. I’ve also noticed more constipation this week so had to take a dulcolax last night and had a decent ‘clear out’ this afternoon (sorry TMI!).

I’ve just injected 5mg so will see how I find it side effects and suppression wise this week.

my interim Halloween goal of 12st7 now looking in jeopardy ;(

SW- 13st5
week one- 13st1 (2.5mg)
week two- 13st1 (2.5mg)
week three- 12st11 (2.5mg)
week four- 12st10 (2.5mg)
week five- 12st9 (bonus dose not sure of dose likely around 2.5mg)
week six- 12st10 (3.75mg)
GW- 10st7 or thereabouts

SageInspo · 24/10/2024 21:08

I took my first 5mg last night and today has been awful! I puked my guts up this morning and have had bad nausea for the remainder of the day. Managed to eat an apple and some soup.

Please someone reassure me that it's not this bad all the time? 😭

SpiderMother · 24/10/2024 23:01

@SageInspo Sorry you feel unwell. I've found that I've gradually adjusted to 5mg so hopefully this time will be the worst for you.

I'm at the end of week 7. Definitely found 3rd week of 5mg easier than the earlier weeks. If felt like a good balance of suppression without bad side effects.

Stats this week:

Height.- 5 ft 2
heaviest - 12 stone 3.7 (1.9.24)
starting MJ - 11 stone 11.7
end of week 7 - 10 stone 8.6
Week 7 loss - 2.0 lbs
Total MJ weight loss - 1 stone 3.1
Loss to date (including dieting before jabs) - 1 stone 9.1 llbs
Goal - 9 stone 7

I'm averaging 2.5 pounds off a week on MJ which I guess may slow further as I get closer to goal. Overall, I'm really happy with this decision and where I've got to so far.

Hildabaggins · 24/10/2024 23:51

I’ve taken my 7th dose today. Lost another 2lb this week. Still 0.5lb off losing a stone, which is very frustrating but surely it will go next week.

KittyGetSmall · 25/10/2024 11:54

Am considering giving up.

I just have no energy and am trying to eat but just finding it so hard.
Just had a small bowl of porridge and had to fight to get it down.
I have 3 more doses in my current pen and another 5mg one in the fridge.

I really don't think I can stick it out all that time

85reasons · 25/10/2024 12:26

Took my 9th injection this morning - my second full 5mg dose. Weight loss has completely slowed down (less than a pound last week) - really hoping it picks up soon.

Justasmallgless · 25/10/2024 12:30

Here you all are!

Has anyone had issues with the pen not working? New pen today and went to prime it but won't work.

On hold to medexpress now but wondered if anyone has had the same

FortunataTagnips · 25/10/2024 12:37

Just done dose 7. Have dropped down to 2mg from 2.5 as I was still getting some horrible side effects off and on. Boo.
A bit frustrating, as I gained slightly this week, but we will see…

Try a new needle.. usually works.

I did last week - should have put a new needle on right away as that’s apparently usually what the problem is.

What a shame @KittyGetSmall Definitely doesn’t sound worth persevering. You won’t be developing any good habits like that. Sorry to hear it.

Sympathies, that sounds frustrating. Aren't you almost at your goal weight? Apologies if I'm confusing you with another poster. Sounds like the dose is just too high for you right now - would you be happy to count clicks and titrate down? Or just come off the meds altogether if you think that's a better choice.

Are you with a pharmacy you can consult with, they might have some ideas like spacing out your doses?

Justasmallgless · 25/10/2024 13:12

Thanks for the help. The third needle I tried has worked. Waited over half an hour on the phone and gave up so thank goodness for MN!

Sorry to hear this @KittyGetSmall, that sounds tough. At the end of the day we all made the decision to take Mounjaro to try and improve our health, and it sounds like it is doing the opposite for you. If you have been pushing on through for a while and it isn't getting any better then maybe it is the right time for you to stop. Good luck with your decision ❤

KittyGetSmall · 25/10/2024 13:45

I think I might try a smaller dose, see if that helps, I am on 5mg a week so might take it down to 3.
