Thanks for the new thread!!

I'm in a quandary. I've got my bonus dose left and my new 5mg pen.

Suppression is wearing off towards the end of the week on 2.5 so I think I'm ready to move up to 5mg. BUT I don't want to waste that lovely bonus dose!!

Should I just suck it up and go to the 5???!

Are you happy to possibly change your injection day? If so you could take the bonus dose of about 3mg and then, if the suppression wears off after 4 or 5 or 6 days you can then take your first 5mg dose.

The instructions say you can change your injection day. And doing a 3mg bonus dose gives you an idea how your body copes with more than 2.5mg.

Morning everyone. This is my third day of using Mounjaro and I am loving it. First day I had a banging headache all day, yesterday I felt slightly nauseous but I’ve woken up today and nothing. My appetite is completely suppressed, to be honest, since the day I took it I’m struggling to consume 1000 calories, I’m having to force myself to eat, the feeling of not constantly thinking about when my next meal is or what I can put in my mouth is amazing, I feel like a new person, I could actually cry, xx hope everyone else is feeling good x

SacreBleugh · 19/10/2024 09:16

I've done a sneaky mid week weigh and my BMI is now 30- I'm about to be merely overweight!
The only downside I can see is that at age 58 my wrinkles previously eased by facial fat are now lining up to take a seat. I'm happy to welcome them!

Please can I ask you all who are already on this journey, where do you recommend for weight loss injections?

Not necessarily the cheapest but the most straight forward to register/ order etc?
Thank you.

Sounds like you're all doing so well.

I use Oushk. I found it very straightforward. Had to fill in a few details about my GP and medication and upload a photo. It just took a few minutes. I know some people don't want their GP to know but I think it's important that they do.

HOL2024 · 19/10/2024 09:22

Week 7 jab tonight and results are really good

week 1 -6.8 lbs (2.5)
week 2 -2.7 lbs (2.5)
week 3 -4.1 lbs (2.5)
week 4 -3.1 lbs (2.5)
week 5 -4.1 lbs (3.33 bonus dose)
week 6 -4.1 lbs (3.75 from the 5 pen)

Total loss - 24.9 lbs

Going to stick with 3.75 suppression is good all week and no side effects.

I think they all pretty much the same as in questions about your health then send some pics etc.. there is a couple places that don't ask for pictures but they are more expensive, numan I think is one..
But then you've got Asda online that you can collect in store which is what I did to start with. I think there is now one you can choose the delivery day behind with an O . Ouksh or something.

I've been with asda now with zava. Will be changing to Med express soon for the discount.

No take the bonus.. remember you have decided to use this drug so its not like your in it for a few weeks. They ain't cheap, if you can get 5 weeks instead of 4 then why would you not.. its only another week and your still getting some suppression..

I would definatly do the bonus.. I did..

85reasons · 19/10/2024 09:35

@theluckiest you can get more than a 2.5mg dose out of the bonus dose - I got the equivalent to a 3.75mg dose so took that.

I'm so pleased I seem to have managed the transition to 5mg properly - good suppression after injecting yesterday morning, not stopping me eating but feeling very full after a small meal then not thinking about food. I have already ordered a 7.5mg pen which arrives in a couple of weeks but am hoping I'll be able to stay on 5mg for a while 🤞🏼

Hildabaggins · 19/10/2024 10:10

How’s everyone doing?
I weighed myself this morning, I am 12st 1lb. So hopefully I’ll be under 12st soon! It doesn’t feel like that long ago that I was so upset cos I couldn’t seem to get under 13st.

doodleschnoodle · 19/10/2024 10:41

I've been on holiday so weighed myself today and have lost 2.3lbs this week, which is my lowest loss yet but I have been on holiday and drinking quite a lot of hot chocolate Blush so I'm glad I've lost at all!

Almost at the 2-stone mark - 23.1lbs lost since I started. Objectively I know I've lost weight and can feel it in clothes but I look in mirror and still feel so squishy Sad Just got to keep on trucking!

SW: 203lbs
CW: 179:2 (my weight app tells me I was last under 180lbs in 2017, pre kids.
GW: About 140 but will see when I get nearer

SpiderMother · 19/10/2024 11:00

@Hildabaggins @doodleschnoodle They are both great results.

I'm under 150lbs today which feels like a nice milestone to have made. Started at 170 something now in the 140s.

85reasons · 18/10/2024 21:01

Checking in - delighted to report that 15 hours after 5mg first dose, I am not feeling any bad side effects 🎉🙌🏼

I'm so pleased because the last couple of weeks I feel like I've been apprehensive about it all, and weight loss had slowed/stopped, and I was feeling like I wasn't doing things "quite right".

Felt good at dinner to join in with what everyone else was eating, but eat a much smaller amount than I would have done previously. One of the best things about this for me is letting go of that “all or nothing”, verging towards bingeing or restricting mentality. It’s just eating less, and mostly eating the healthy option just because it’s what I fancy, not because I ought/should really.

Edited

I know exactly what you mean- it is such a relief isn't it.

Orangesandlemons77 · 19/10/2024 11:21

I'm feeling great today. Slept really well, used to snore but not seeming to anymore. Which is fab. It's about a month since I started and I have lost 6% of my body weight, around 7kg. MIL is coming round later and will want me to eat 'more' cake than her and I know it won't be a problem as I just won't fancy it.

Best wishes to everyone for a good weekend.

Witchyandtwitchy · 19/10/2024 11:26

Morning all..
I’m now 13Ib down and so close to being in the 14s instead of the 15s! Definitely feeling slimmer and more comfortable in my clothes, but my stomach feels very soft and saggy. Going to try more targeted exercises and hope it firms up a bit.

At friends for dinner tonight, so not sure what to expect food wise, nobody knows I’m doing this, not even DH.
How have other managed a situation where a friend has made a lovely home cooked meal with wine etc? Don’t want to offend her by leaving g half a plateful!

Thebirdsandthebeads · 19/10/2024 11:33

@Orangesandlemons77
Oh wow! Now you've confirmed what I've been thinking. I thought it was a massive coincidence that I've suddenly stopped snoring too for at least a week now (I only noticed but it may have been longer than that) because I've stopped getting the snoring casual complaints. I asked on 4 different days after taking a nap if I'd snored (because there were no complaints/jokes) and I was casually told nope. That is a shocker because it's never really happened.

Now I see someone else saying it and I've finally realised this is yet another unexpected benefit of MJ!

I guess it could be to do with the weight loss? I have seen something about how it could be used for sleep apneoa though? It's great. They are actually sending me for a sleep study for that but it is taking months, I'm hoping that it might be Ok now as I really don't want to use one of those oxygen mask things.

Oh yea me too with the CPAP machine! I would feel totally claustrophobic with it. That's just too much to be dealing with while trying to sleep - something that's already difficult as it is. I've been avoiding it for so long. I hope the lack of snoring and better quality of sleep continues!

Witchyandtwitchy · 19/10/2024 11:39

It will be the weight loss.
I notice a real difference with dh. If he’s put weight on the snoring can be horrendous, but if he loses a bit it stops.

Thebirdsandthebeads · 19/10/2024 11:43

That's just fantastic! Things keep getting better and better.

Orangesandlemons77 · 19/10/2024 11:55

If you can't sleep well it can affect appetite as well, well it used to. It's great to get out of those negative cycles isn't it.

Can you tell her that you are watching your calorie intake as trying to get healthier? That you have lost x pounds and are trying not to undo all your hard work and stretch your stomach which has now got used to eating less. Text her in advance if you need to. If she is a friend she should be understanding. If not avoid eating at her house again until you have hit your goal.

Drink very slowly, eat slowly, serve yourself a tiny portion. I had a meal at friends and she served us the food. It was a struggle to eat the last few mouthfuls.

Witchyandtwitchy · 19/10/2024 13:06

Yes she does normally serve the food (quite generously!)
Im not too worried about calories as such, it is only one meal, more about having to eat so much I’ll be uncomfortable.

Yes I’ll tell her I’m reducing portions to try and lose a bit of weight. Which is true.
Good point about drinking slowly. Think I’ll try and drink some water through the evening too.

spinningisthebest · 19/10/2024 13:10

Snoring definitely much better for me too at 12 lbs down. I've just picked up two 2.5kg barbells to see what it would feel like to be carrying the weight I have lost again and it felt so HEAVY - no wonder I can move more quickly and easily!!!

EatingTillIDie · 19/10/2024 13:14

I thought you'd all like to know that most of the time I'm reading this thread while on the loo. Constipation is hitting me this time! On wegovy I would get that, but then a few days of the runs, with stability between. Over and over. Mounjaro seems to just shut it all down. I am not sure which is worse.

Trying hard to up my water intake, work has been too busy and I forget, hopefully this will help me remember next week as it's rubbish!! Particularly as I am STILL hovering around 18st 7 weeks in............... it is really strange because the suppression works far better than wegovy. Hmmmm
