@mimosa1 Im currently using Hunter Gatherer Vanilla Creamer in coffee. It’s ‘ok’ it has a taste if you know what I mean but it’s not unpleasant. It took me a few coffees to get used to it.

I’ve Ive ordered Ancient & Brave in their black Friday sale. I don’t know what it’s going to taste like but the marketing is good. I’ve put a referral code in the referral thread if you fancy it 😉

Who is looking at moving to 10mg on the next dose? I’ve just done my injection of 7.5mg, no side effects at all yet. 5mg I didn’t lose much at all, 7.5mg was great for the first couple of weeks, but again seems to be less effective on the 3rd week. The food noise in my head in increasing again and I’m very aware of food choices and saying no. It’s not as easy as it has been

I've bought a 10mg pen but may well keep to 7.5mg

Sampler · 17/11/2024 17:30

@mimosa1 I’m using Bulk collagen + vitamin C, I put it in my daily smoothie.
I have got some ancient and brave collagen coffee which is really nice but very expensive. I only have one cup a day so it’s more a treat as I don’t drink wine anymore I can sort of justify the expense.

Good morning!

11th dose and a standard 2lb down
today (obviously delighted but I do love the weeks when it's more!)
I'm sticking with 40 clicks on a 5mg pen as it's working, and I still have a long way to go.

SW: 245 (9th Sept)
CW: 215
GW1: 199

Looking ahead to final goal, I'm thinking 150 as it's just about 'normal', I have NEVER been that weight as an adult ever, so am struggling with the thought of it.

toomanyjobsforonewoman · 18/11/2024 08:57

I'm
Feeling a bit low .
I've been off mounjaro for six months and managed for the first four months to keep my weight stable ( which is the first time in my life I haven't been either gaining or losing weight)
Now the menopause has hit me very suddenly and really hard, I'm starving constantly and started snacking again and also tired from waking dripping wet and changing around three times per night and sleeping on a towel.
Mentally all I can see is the very depressing vision or regaining the 11stone I lost ( I've already regained a stone but have been turned down for going back on the mounjaro again)
What do I do? How do I cope with this ? Is there anyone here who is on mounjaro and still losing / maintaining ?
I feel like after working so bloody hard that my body is going to undo it all

HippoPortlyMouse · 18/11/2024 09:46

@toomanyjobsforonewoman you're on the September thread here, so most of us started taking Mounjaro in September and are still "in progress". There are earlier threads and a "continuing Mounjaro" thread which I think is on number 23 by now!

11 stone is an amazing loss. What a transformation that must have been! Your body is now going through another less welcome transformation in the form of menopause - I'm in peri myself so I understand a bit how unglamorous it is.

Which pharmacy did you try for maintenance? The high street ones and MedExpress don't like to do it - but Oushk, Pharmulous and Cloud all offer maintenance plans. I know Oushk will consider maintenance from patients who weren't with them initially (and the others may, I just don't know).

There might be other pharmacies as well, those are just the three I recall.

If you want to go back on Mounjaro I would absolutely reach out to the pharmacies and share your history and experiences with the medication and ask if they will consider you. For many of us with obesity, it's not simply a case of maintaining good habits. We are fighting a massive battle against our biology. Our bodies are determined to gain the weight back and will throw every hormone possible at it.

There are a few threads in the weight loss injection section about maintenance. Not everyone who's maintaining is still around, but you'll find some are comfortable maintaining, others came off and went back on and others are still trying to work out their path - everyone's different.

FlatStanley50 · 18/11/2024 11:14

Weekly weigh in for me and I've stayed the same as last week. I'm on 5mg at the moment. I've lost 16lb in 10 weeks, but only 2lb in the last 3 weeks. I'm always a slow loser as I'm short but I can't help wishing I was one of those people who it whooshed off! I've been sticking to calories and exercising so not a lot else I can do about it. The suppression is definitely working on 5mg for me still.

spinningisthebest · 18/11/2024 17:52

NSV: new smart work trousers size 14 I have been looking forward to wearing are too big and the 12 fits like a dream! Barometer trousers from my ideal weight do up if I am lying on the bed but are not yet comfortable to wear upright. 18lbs down but no one apart from DH has noticed - he is being a very lovely and appreciative cheerleader but it would be nice if someone else noticed.

EBoo80 · 18/11/2024 18:47

I’ve had the oddest day today of being ravenously hungry. Maybe the change in temperature (it’s freezing here) or maybe it’s hormonal, but my suppression doesn’t usually wane this much. Have made healthier choices than I would have pre-MJ but am likely way way over calories (I don’t calorie count much usually.)
any tips for what to eat when you’re just wildly, insanely hungry?! My body used to tell me and it isn’t really today…

HippoPortlyMouse · 18/11/2024 19:04

@EBoo80 could it be you've under-eaten the past couple of days and your body is wanting to catch up? I've noticed that, if I'm under 1,000 cals, I get extra hungry. This has actually worked pretty well in terms of natural calorie cycling, I just have to be careful I don't go too far and I'm still averaging in a deficit.

EBoo80 · 18/11/2024 19:59

Ooh maybe… not deliberately but it was a busy wknd and it’s possible I didn’t eat much… I’ve scoffed loads of protein tonight and will see how tmrw goes

20bloodypounds · 18/11/2024 21:39

I've gone up to 3.75 today, and if this week goes well, I'll increase a bit more next week, and then up to the full 5mg for December. I've only lost a couple of pounds in the last 4 weeks, so hoping this will do the trick.

I'm on holiday now so may not post much but I'll be reading when I can and cheering you all on from the sidelines.

SpiderMother · 18/11/2024 23:20

@EBoo80 That's exactly how I feel this evening. I've exercised today and I am lowish on calories but I feel the hungriest I've felt in all the time on MJ. Not sure why. I've had a protein shake!

InfoSecInTheCity · 19/11/2024 06:43

I think it's the sudden cold. It's like your body starts to scream that it's time to stock up for hibernation. Lots of hot drinks and I'm going for comforting warming food like chill.

SpottyBumPony · 19/11/2024 10:07

Week 12, a normal week really. I was a bit snacky - I don't really want to have snacks for me in the house but maybe it's a wise idea at this stage.

30/08/2024 - 122.5kg
03/09/2024 - 120.9kg, first dose 2.5 of MJ
10/09/2024 - 118.3kg, second dose 2.5 of MJ
17/09/2024 - 116.2kg, third dose 2.5 of MJ
24/09/2024 - 112.4kg, fourth dose 2.5 of MJ
01/10/2024 - 112.4kg, fifth dose 2.5 of MJ
08/10/2024 - 111.0kg, sixth dose 2.5 of MJ
15/10/2024 - 109.8kg, seventh dose 2.5 of MJ
22/10/2024 - 108.5kg, eighth dose 3.75 of MJ
29/10/2024 - 105.9kg, ninth dose 3 of MJ
05/11/2024 - 107.3kg, tenth dose 3 of MJ
12/11/2024 - 105.9, 11th dose 3.75 of MJ
19/11/2024 - 104.2, 12th dose 3.75 of MJ

Loss - 18.3kg … a 5-gallon bottle of water💧or an average human leg 🦵 & 2 blueberry muffins 🫐🧁🧁

Goal - to be in the healthy BMI range (70.3kg)

mimosa1 · 19/11/2024 21:01

Hi everyone,

I've just topped 7kg loss over the last 2 months and I'm at that lovely stage where everything in my wardrobe fits. I had been in denial and many of my clothes were getting very tight indeed!

That said, Voy has offered me a 4 week break to see if my hair issues improve. The clinician recommend I get a blood test at the GP to see if something else is going on though, so I may carry on on the short term.

Maddeningly, the children have come home with sodding lice and I've just treated them and myself with a chemical solution and bit comb.I must have combed out a million hairs - after being so careful with normal brushing as well - it's come out in clumps ConfusedNo lice on me thank heavens but it can't have done my poor thin locks any good...

I've been thinking about the weight loss and my hair - my losses are quite slow compared to many of you on here in terms of amount and speed of loss. That said, the loss does take me below my "set point" of many years. I only went on MJ when my set point went above that and seemed to be headed ever upwards so maybe my body is in shock.

SwiftiesVSLestat · 19/11/2024 21:19

@mimosa1 the hair loss must be difficult. Great to be under your set point though. I have one stone 2lb to go to under my set point. Last time I was there was 3 years ago.

I have just taken week 2 of my 3rd Pen. It’s 5mg. I am contemplating going up at my next pen. But I can’t decide. I am feeling hungrier and not having days where suppression is really high. Today I have eaten a few biscuits, where I haven’t even thought about them for weeks.

one reason I have lost weight is that I no longer snack in bed watching TV on a night. And the last few nights I have been hungry. It’s been fairly easy to not have the snacks. But it’s different to 3 or 4 weeks ago where I wouldn’t have even thought about it.

I am still in a calorie deficit and lost 4lb this week. But I am worried if I order another 5, which I will start around Christmas I will wish I went up to 7.5mg as 5 is no longer strong enough but stuck with 5mg til January.

But I have had an easy ride regarding side effects til now and worried if I go up, I will start getting side effects.

It’s seems so hard to make a decision. I wanted to change provider so don’t really want to contact my current one for advice. Why does this decision seem so hard to make?

EBoo80 · 19/11/2024 21:33

Week 2 of a pen seems early to be losing suppression. Although I posted yesterday that the cold snap had made me hungrier unexpectedly, so maybe it’s that?
A 4lb loss in a week still seems high.
My own reasoning has been staying as low as I can lose at, on the basis that the total suppression I had when starting out isn’t going to help train me into better habits. I very much want to try to stop Mounjaro entirely in 2025, so that’s my focus. Others who intend to be on for the long haul might feel different.
The other side would be that you could use a 7.5 pen to deliver a reduced dose, should you want to stick at 5.

So hard to make these decisions - I am opting for always buying the higher pen dose, thinking that I can always stick to the lower dose out of that higher pen if need be.

I am in awe of you still having weeks where you lose 4lb..! I am lucky if I'm losing over 1-1.5lb each week and there is never an unexpected result when I step on. But slowly the number decreases and I'm starting to just settle into that reality rather than fight for it to be a faster process.

I'm on 7.5mg at the moment - my next one is a 10mg but I'll probably continue injecting the 7.5mg as I have good suppression and no side effects. Have upped the exercise recently so am very pleased with that.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. It’s my second 5mg pen. I got 5 out of my last dose so this was my 7th 5mg dose.

I also want to stay as low as possible for as long as possible.

It could be the cold snap. I also increased my exercise. So maybe that.

I do want to be able to come off it too. But have a long way to go. I have lost 2 stone 8lb. And have another 6 and a half stone to go. So it will be a long road. That’s also the reason I don’t want to go up to fast. If I get to 15mg and struggle there’s nowhere to go.

4lb was a big surprise. Though the week before when I weighed in I was at the tail end of my period and had lost 1lb. So it could be that.

I might think about it for another couple of weeks and see how it goes before I order.

yes maybe ordering higher and taking less. My concern there is my adhd brain and I might end up not thinking about it and taking the full dose when I don’t mean to. 😂

I would be in awe. I lost a pound the week before and on weigh day I was at the back end of my period. So it could have been some water retention. I am usually about 2.5lb on average. Some weeks nothing. Some weeks more. I also have a lot to lose my BMI is just under 40.

It is amazing how the time has flown and even the small losses have added up.

You are doing amazing. Especially adding exercise in. It’s such great nsv when you can feel yourself getting fitter.

I will see how I react over the next few weeks then I will have to bite the bullet and just make what I think is the right decision at the time.

85reasons · 20/11/2024 08:05

We're all doing so well, aren't we?? So different to other weight loss journeys.

I can well imagine not wanting to go up too quickly if there's a long way to go - it's not such a long way for me this time around but I've been there - I lost a lot of weight (around 6 stone) three years ago, then put 2 back on in 6 months which I'm trying to lose now (plus an extra 10 pounds I never managed to get off before). We will all get there, this is the thing that feels so different with MJ - but I do get the pacing oneself thing.

It does sound as though lots of people find 'their' right dose whether that's 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg etc and then manage to sit there for a few months. I'm hoping to sit at 7.5mg 🤞🏼

HippoPortlyMouse · 20/11/2024 08:08

I'm doing the same as @85reasons and going for a higher dose pen and taking a smaller dose from it so I've always got the option of titrating up mid-pen. (You have to be confident click counting and taking a non-standard dose though - and with there being wasted medicine at the end of a pen!)

SpottyBumPony · 20/11/2024 08:17

@SwiftiesVSLestat sounds like we are on a similar journey, I’m coming up to a 3stone loss but at 16 stone 6 I’ve still got a looooong way to go. I’d order the 7.5mg if it’s affordable, plan to take 5mg but knowing you can increase if you need to.

Some of my friends are doing MJ too so we’ve got a chat going on. I’ve always been the ‘fat friend’, since we met at 17 I’ve been the big girl. They are both 6ft tall (I’m 5’7) and have slowly put weight on over the years. My friend Z though said yesterday that she has lost a stone and now weighs 16’11. I didn’t know her weight before, because she’s tall she doesn’t look like she would weigh that. But then I realised … I’M NOT THE FAT FRIEND. God I know that’s bitchy and I don’t mean any harm to Z but I’ve never, in my life, not been the biggest person.

I had tears in my eyes when I realised.
