@SpottyBumPony i couldn’t deal with it in coffee at all. Ruined my morning 🤣. Instead I’ve started adding collagen plus an electrolyte sachet to a glass of orange juice and that is working much better for me

MissBPotter · 13/11/2024 20:31

Weigh in day for me and need to jab later.
total loss is 1stone 5. I did have it all written out but I think I’ve gone wrong somewhere as I’ve lost 1st 5 altogether. I think 1.5lbs off this week.
Happy enough with that.

its exactly 6 weeks til Christmas so if I lose 1.5lb each week, which seems doable, I should be exactly 2 stone down by Xmas!
maybe not as much as some people but I’ve already lost over 11% of my body weight so I’m happy!

20bloodypounds · 13/11/2024 20:44

@alwaysscared sorry I'm late to this dicussion (busy couple of days) but it looks to me like you are not eating very much. I also understand that you like routine but our metabolism likes unpredictability.

Do you like soup? You can buy it or make it - pea and ham; chicken and sweetcorn; tomato and lentil; broccoli and cheese. All have protein. I was once on holiday in an south asian country and they ate soup for breakfast. I'm a convert - so much better than a sugary cereal. And warms you up in the winter. I recently made a sweet potato and peanut butter curry, blitzed the leftovers to make a soup - delicious and nutritious.

Maybe have more protein earlier in the day to satiate you earlier. Maybe eggs on toast for breakfast, soup for lunch, yogurt and nuts and fruit for dinner?

Also my dh who is a hill-runner, uses jelly babies for massive easily-accessible energy input while he is on a big run. I'd stop buying them, then you won't be able to eat them. If you feel like you need something sweet and snacky try 70% or 85% chocolate. One square is often enough. Or grate it onto your yogurt and nuts and fruit. You might only need half a square.

@SpottyBumPony I am currently using this one. I cannot taste it in coffee. I use different ones, whatever is on offer.

Good morning everyone,

I completely forgot to update last week but I had a 1lb gain which I think was partly due to starting my period and partly due to overindulging on the leftover Halloween treats!

A much better week this week and I’ve lost 3lbs and have finally hit 1 stone off and another lb on top. It’s taken 9 weeks so not as quickly as I was expecting or hoping for when I embarked on this but the control and lack of food noise is lovely.

I’ve ordered some insulin syringes to get the bonus dose out of my 5mg pen later today as I’ve read that the newer pens won’t budge for the hard twist method. I’ll see how much I get out of it but I’m hoping to get enough to do something like 6.25mg to act as a bridge to 7.5mg which I have in the fridge and intend to start next week.

a couple of observations that I’ve made:

  • I’m finding that I have really good suppression for the first week of a new pen but the next 3 weeks find it’s nowhere near as strong. Almost like my body adjusts very quickly to it? I guess it’s a good thing because I don’t really have any side effects (touch wood) and I’m still eating quite a bit so am hoping this serves me well for maintenance/doesn’t feel like I’m crash dieting.
  • The second thing is my desire for water/fluids has really diminished. I normally drink lots of water, easily 3l a day. On MJ I am really struggling to drink it, I just don’t fancy it at all. I’ve had to resort to cold blackcurrant squash for the last few days to up my intake as it isn’t good for weight loss or your body in general! Peppermint tea tolerable as well but I’ve just been completely turned off my normally beloved water.

My next mini goal is to get to 12 stone for a break away at the end of November. 2 weigh ins and 4lbs to go- really hoping I make it!

My Christmas goal of 11st7 is looking unlikely now. 11lbs in 6 weeks is quite the ask at the rate I’ve been losing so far but I’ve got to just keep going.

Thornymum · 13/11/2024 16:58

Glad it's not just me!
I could find drinking more tea easier whilst it's cold as I love a hot cup of tea - but my brain says it should be water/squash I'm drinking and I just don't😂😂

I’m drinking a lot of hot vimto (no added sugar) at the moment which I am finding gives me the comfort factor of a hot drink but the benefit of more fluids

85reasons · 14/11/2024 09:10

Great results everyone - even with a week of a small gain @suze12 (or a few weeks of a virtual stall which I had recently) we are all on the downward trajectory and I think the comfort of knowing this makes those times so much easier to handle.

I'm on my first week of 7.5mg and feeling good on it - weight looks to be coming off as well now, and I've increased exercise.

SW 201.6lbs 8th Sept

Hoping to be under 170lbs by Christmas 🤞🏼

EBoo80 · 14/11/2024 09:14

Great to hear updates. My third 5mg pen arrives today, to see me through until after Christmas. Then I think I’ll try a 2.5 to titrate down and aim to come off after that. Going to book an Oushk consult to discuss in the next couple of weeks.

sylv165 · 14/11/2024 11:16

NSV for me today. I am just off my first flight in a few weeks and my goodness do I notice the difference in the seats and seatbelt. I was not quite at the point of having to use a dreaded seatbelt extender, but was definitely nba trajectory for that. Now it fits comfortably with plenty of extra length to spare!

That’s great! I love seeing these changes!

Hildabaggins · 14/11/2024 13:53

I’ve taken my first 5mg dose today. I’m a bit nervous, I should I have tried 3.75mg first but it’s too late now!

i’ve lost 2.5lb this week, which is great after 1lb on last week. I have lost 1st 2lb since I started this, I am starting to notice it now in how I look and my clothes being looser.

EBoo80 · 14/11/2024 14:35

Today’s NSV for me is fitting into a mini skirt and wearing (with very thick tights I hasten to add!) to work. Haven’t fitted into it in years but always loved the look, so it’s cheered me up no end.

mimosa1 · 14/11/2024 16:51

Oooh @EBoo80 how fab!

Thanks all for the collagen recommendations. I've also bought a vitamin supplement. Hopefully they're not too vile. I've also made a vat of chicken stock / broth so I'll be having it as a drink / soup base.

SecondDesk · 14/11/2024 17:40

Just made lentil and vegetable soup. I put ham in and blended it too much. I have added some small pieces. Very protein rich soup ready to have for breakfast. Great suggestion.

sylv165 · 14/11/2024 17:54

Well done on the mini skirt @EBoo80, I bet you looked fabulous.

That sounds delicious @SecondDesk! I am just perusing the room service menu and have the unusual problem of not really fancying anything. Think I’ll just order a starter. I would usually treat myself to a glass of wine when I am working away but since starting MJ I have changed my ways and now buy myself a face mask and have a little pamper session instead.

SecondDesk · 14/11/2024 18:30

That's a good plan @sylv165. I stay in hotels for work sometimes.

I will get myself an eye mask or two in for a mini pamper.

SpottyBumPony · 14/11/2024 18:59

I’ve just had lentils for dinner. I was late getting home so DH had cooked sausages for him and DS.

Id normally turn to eggs but branched out and made a speedy Dahl. I’ve got enough for lunch tomorrow too

sylv165 · 14/11/2024 19:05

@SecondDesk the one I have for tonight cost £7.99 😱 but claims to harness the power of cryotechnology to rejuvenate skin. Fully expecting to wake up tomorrow looking like a teenager!

SecondDesk · 14/11/2024 20:05

@sylv165 very nice. Take your ID out with you. 👶

SecondDesk · 14/11/2024 20:06

£7.99 is fine. You only had a starter for dinner.

sylv165 · 14/11/2024 20:22

Wise words @SecondDesk 🤣

acaciabluebell · 15/11/2024 00:45

Hi everyone, new to this page I'm on week 11 of mounjaro, started in Sept and my first week of 7.5mg. Up until now I have had zero side effects. I jabbed last night and today I felt fine up until a few hours ago when I developed disgusting sulphur burps, nausea, stomach pain, and had non stop diarrhea for the past 2-3 hours. I'm running back to the toilet every 10 mins. It's agony! Has anyone else experienced this. Doing fine for ages and then wiped out on 7.5. And did it get better?

SecondDesk · 15/11/2024 07:22

@acaciabluebell that sounds rough. Hope someone comes along with advice.

My symptoms haven't been as severe. Would you take a smaller dose next week?

acaciabluebell · 15/11/2024 11:38

@SecondDesk thanks. I was up pretty much the entire night with constant diarrhea and sulphur burps so it's been pretty rough
As for dosing I'm hoping my body will get used to it because on 5mg I basically maintained for ages and I was really hoping 7.5 would be better!

skiptrip · 15/11/2024 17:01

Only half a lb off this week (week four of 5mg). I really lost suppression over the last few days and was really hungry for the first time ages.

SW: 13st 5
CW: 12st 5
GW: 10st

I've started 7.5mg now and feeling pretty queasy today. Hopefully this will get the lbs shifting again. On the plus side, have had some lovely compliments this week and have lost a couple of inches from my waist already. I put all my weight around my middle so I'm over the moon! This is such a huge deal for me as I've struggled to shift belly fat for as long as I can remember and perimenopause has only made things worse - it's a real game-changer!
