Thought I'd pop by and say well done everyone on keeping going.
@ShiftAMountain ... really think you are shifts small hillock now...
It's so lovely to hear the difference to your life this is making.
I'm doing really well on maintenance, using about 2.75 mg every 8-9 days.
Have fluctuated between 62.5 and 64 kgs which is fine. I feel just continually amazed and thrilled.
I've had to replace clothes as last week took trousers on work trip and had to safety pin the waist to make them stay up ! 😯
I've replaced my suit skirts and work trousers by buying on vinted ( my new obsession)
Can't wait to get summer clothes out of storage...it'll be a treat that everything is loose .

Snapespeare · 03/03/2025 07:07

I did a wardrobe clear out yesterday, 4 binbags, but it did include stuff that was falling apart that I had been a little emotionally attached to. My favourite old pyjama bottoms were a size 22! Goodbye to that!

Also a little obsessed with vinted. I'd always gone for voluminous wide legged trousers to mask my huge legs, I don't need those anymore, I can be more tailored.

Slightly concerned I'm not as age appropriate as I might be, but I'm also at the age where I don't really give a shit, so I've just bought an oversized faux leather biker jacket as a stop-gap for the all-saints jacket I've always said would be my goal weight jacket.

Well done @ShiftAMountain, 53lbs is amazing!

I'm here to remind you girls to hydrate hydrate hydrate! I've had a few moments of dizziness whilst standing up since starting MJ, but today I actually fainted Shock

I'd eaten really well the day before, more than usual in fact. But for the previous 2 days I hadn't drunk anywhere near enough. I'm a bit bruised but luckily no major damage. I'm chugging electrolytes now! I took my blood pressure which was 100/60 so not hypotension, but on the lower side of normal.

So let me be a warning to make sure you get your fluids in.

That's interesting you say that. I have been feeling really light headed recently and hadn't put it down to hydration and yet have been saying to myself that I need to drink more water. I'm not sure I realized they were so linked. Thanks for the reminder. I literally nearly fainted whilst talking in a meeting this week which would have been embarrassing.

Jabberwokie · 04/03/2025 17:52

Snapespeare - I'm 65 and I have a fur trimmed biker jacket, which I absolutely love. I was out and about in it today with leggings and boots and was complimented on my outfit by a couple of women (probably a little younger than me). Now I'm slimmer I shall absolutely wear precisely what I want and I urge you to do the same 😎.

Pashazade · 04/03/2025 19:01

@Jabberwokie that sounds like an awesome outfit!

Ozgirl76 · 05/03/2025 05:25

Hello there! Haven’t posted for ages, but still happily on the Mounjaro train. I’ve now lost 17 kg and am 56kg! I haven’t been this weight since I was about 20! I’m only 5ft 3 though so I don’t look thin, just pleasingly slim. I’ve had to buy new clothes and I’m feeling great.

My one downside is that my face is looking a bit on the depleted side now. I do get Botox in my forehead and frown lines and they’re ok but I’m going to ask my lady if there is anything I can do about the lines around my mouth/jowls. My jawline looks good but it’s those lines from my nose to my chin I’m not keen on. I don’t want to have a facelift (and I don’t think it’s tooooo bad) but I wouldn’t mind a bit of tightening up. I’ve still got a small overhang belly from having two c-sections, I wish I could just move the fat from there into my face 😄

Snapespeare · 05/03/2025 06:52

Ozgirl I am seriously contemplating some subtle lower face fillers - everything seems to have melted a little (...) I've never really been one for taking very good care of myself, got my teeth done a few years ago as they were yellowy and ground down a bit and I've been paying more attention to skincare over the last year or so... Fillers seem like a bit of a leap, but it is what it is. For me the weight loss has got me more into a space of care for myself and my mindset has shifted into '& that's ok'.

Ozgirl76 · 05/03/2025 08:52

Yes, it’s a kind of melted look isn’t it?! It’s fine when I smile but when I look serious I look a bit old and grumpy and I don’t feel old and grumpy 😄

Mydoghealsmyheart · 05/03/2025 14:46

Can anyone advise me, please. I was due to move up from 7.5 to 10mg and thought that this increase was due next Tuesday. I hadn’t yet received a reminder email hence me thinking I had another week to go. Anyway, I went to do the last dose of 7.5 yesterday and realised there was very little left in the syringe so I checked my emails and realised I should have had a new prescription from this week rather than next. I contacted the pharmacy and they apologised for not sending a reminder as they’ve previously always done. My new supply (10mg) will be despatched hopefully tomorrow so I won’t be able to have this week’s injection until Fri or Sat.
Will it be ok to have had a break of a few days, especially as I’m moving to a higher dose?

ShiftAMountain · 05/03/2025 14:58

@Mydoghealsmyheart I am pretty sure I read somewhere that if you miss a dose you can take the next one, as normal up to 4 days late:

https://mounjaro.lilly.com/how-to-use-mounjaro

So, if you don't get your next dose until Sat that should be fine as it's 4 days after Tuesday.

You can then theoretically take the 2nd dose from that pen 3 days later on your normal Tuesday. However, personally, I would be tempted to bring it forward or push it back a day at a time until you are back on the Tuesday schedule (if you want to go back to Tuesdays). If it were me, I'd push it back a day at a time because it's a higher doser than you're used to.

So take this week's on Sat
Next week's 8 days later on Sun
Then 8 days after that on Mon
Then 8 days after than on Tue

Thank you so much for this reassurance, it’s really helpful. I’m hoping to get started as soon as I can but realise that I will need to take it slowly as it’s a dose I’ve not yet tried. I’ve been on 7.5 for a few months and found it effective until this past month when I’ve had very little or even no suppression. I even ended up putting on 3.5 pounds in just two weeks due to comfort eating. I just hope that the higher dose brings things back under control and that I can start losing the weight again. I have surgery planned for the summer and want to be a healthier weight even though I know I’ll still be classed as overweight.
Have you found the optimum dose for you?

Ozgirl76 · 05/03/2025 20:44

Don’t worry about moving days around - I have done this loads due to travel and also I now try to take my dose adding on a day every time, to stretch it out (so I would do Saturday one week, Sunday the next week etc) and it hasn’t made any difference.
My consultant has said this is fine to do.

Cocoaone · 05/03/2025 22:58

@Mydoghealsmyheart - can you get the remainder out (counting clicks) and see if it's a half dose and take that to tide you over, if you don't want a big gap? I have no idea how that will impact your levels moving forward though, or if it will confuse your body.

Popping on to announce that I hit a BMI of 24.9 today. I'm sure it will ping back up tomorrow, so I'm celebrating today

I went up a tiny amount (from 3.25 to 3.5mg) this week, as last week I managed to polish off a big bag of crisps, and a bag of marzipan chocolate balls from M&S within 2 days, which hasn't happened since before taking MJ. The food noise had returned!

Snapespeare · 06/03/2025 07:43

Weigh day yesterday, but nothing had shifted (up a fraction) , so back on the scales today 1.5lbs off - 14.3.4. this puts me at 47lbs lost and under 200lbs for the first time since 2012. (!) Next goal is 3lbs to make it 50 off and then into the 13's!

Booked consultation for my saggy face. Will report in. Don't want a photoshopping of my many forehead lines, but lower 3rd of my face is an issue.

@10storeylovesong I'm far enough in now that I'm off a fuck it mind set and just tell them, if they want to have a go or judge I'm walking away.
It's worked so well that when the nurse at Blood Doning saw me (they have to do extra checks because it's an injectable I'm doing myself) she said why are you on that you look great? I learnt forward and said "yes, that's because I've lost 3 stone". 😁.
Yes it's the easiest weight loss I've ever had, I'm not going to apologise for that anymore. At the beginning I was wary of telling people but now so what, it's not really any of their business and I feel so much healthier. I'll walk away from anyone getting up in my face about it. Had a chat with a random lady in a coffee shop as I was reading Magic Pill and she asked what I was reading and whilst she was very concerned by it, being a naturally thin person she accepted she couldn't really comment (her words) and I said for me the benefits outweighed the risks!
So chin up you're not doing anything wrong as you're taking a proactive step for your future health!

ShiftAMountain · 07/03/2025 09:07

I take a bit of a cop out approach and if asked how I've lost weight, I joke that I've given up puddings and it's miserable. Somehow the slight joke and the belief that I've struggled satisfies most people and they accept that answer.

However, if they press me I get a bit more serious and tell them I have been learning how much UPFs damage you and so have tried to cut back dramatically on the ultra processed foods I eat. Once I start listing all the things that are UPF and are not the obvious doughnuts and takeaways they tend to glaze over and leave me alone Grin

Both of those things are mostly true (except "it's miserable"). But obviously it has all been made much easier by the miracle that is these drugs.

I sort of tell the truth. I track what I eat, I eat less, I eat better quality food, and I pay particular attention to protein and have dramatically increased water.

I am also a lot more active now than I was. I have lost nearly three stone so it is much easier to walk long distances and I am not embarrassed to go swimming

RandomID · 08/03/2025 19:10

I tell them I use a weight loss drug. I give zero fucks. :)

Cocoaone · 09/03/2025 07:43

People have stopped asking me now, so they all know it's 'calorie counting' from when they asked previously. I have told some more of my family now, and my uncle told me he was on it too!

Week 23 update - 45lb/20.5kg down and have managed to keep at the BMI of 24.9 for a few days, which is very nice!
Weight loss has now 'slowed' to 1lb per week for the past 3 weeks which is good as I think I only want to lose another 10 or 11lb, and I have noticed more hair loss in the shower, although I don't think it's obvious on my head (yet). Currently taking 3.5mg

I've booked a maintenance appointment with Oushk for 9 weeks time. Still not really sure what my plan will be just yet. Debating staying on the same dose and increasing days between jabs, or just going down the dose slightly. I'm so content with my current diet - I struggle to see how I'll fit in an extra 500 cals a day in order to maintain tbh. It's like a whole other meal to add!

ShiftAMountain · 09/03/2025 19:03

End of week 24
2.8lbs lost
57.8lbs total

Well done @Cocoaone - great total loss and all the way to goal on such a low dose. Brilliant!

OP posts:
ShiftAMountain · 09/03/2025 19:06

I just realised that means I have now lost just over 4 stone!! 😮

OP posts:
Bellyblueboy · 09/03/2025 19:44

I everyone is doing so well. I can’t believe it’s nearly six months!

today I got my goal weight!! Three stone lost - 9st 4.

I think it’s only fleeting - and I will bounce up a couple of pounds tomorrow. But for today I am 9st 4 and have a bmi of 23.8.

now for the stress about maintenance

Cocoaone · 10/03/2025 07:11

Well done @Bellyblueboy ! Have you decided what you're doing for maintenance yet?

Over 4st and so close to 60lb @ShiftAMountain - that's the size of a labrador! Amazing, well done!

I'm eager for spring to start properly so I can get some new clothes. I've been wearing a lot of my old jumpers still but finding that the excess fabric really irritates me and gets in the way!
