Thanks @Cocoaone

I have been buying up bits from Vinted in the next size down. I have quite the collection now but am still about 10lbs away from fitting into them. I am REALLY looking forward to getting access to the 'new wardrobe' for spring and summer.

The thought that I might spend summer just enjoying the weather and not feeling crap because I am physically and psychologically uncomfortable with being too hot and too overdressed for the weather (to hide myself) or dressed for the weather but ashamed of how I look is lighter, shorter clothes, is honestly making me giddy with anticipation. I cannot quite wrap my head around the concept, tbh.

I'm hoping that the thigh chaffing is significantly reduced for the summer. I've always had juicy thighs, so I doubt I'll avoid it entirely, but hoping I can avoid having to wear chaffing shorts as soon as it gets even slightly warm...

I’m now in packing the bags and bags of stuff I was going to put in Vinted this year of summer wear and finding I fit into some of for the first time in many years. Very happy!

I’m 4st down now and reached the initial goal I set - 15st 4lb. I’ve gone from a size 22 back into a 16 and in some cases a 14 (thank you marks and Spencer’s generous stretchy denim skirts).

im working hard at the gym and swimming to try and tone up the flabby arms and calves etc and it’s helping my mental health massively.

im still on 10mg and sticking with it for now as it’s still working for me all be it much slower.

I do find the injection site (thighs) is having red marks and slight tenderness for over a week now but it helps remind me which side I injected last..

Snapespeare · 10/03/2025 15:51

I just caved and bought a hideously expensive leather biker jacket from m&s (it's arrived, it's beautiful, so soft!) ) and then inspired by a thread on MN about clothes you wish you still had, searched for a bag of thin clothes that I stashed in the attic almost two years ago. There's obviously a gorgeous fur lined 3/4 length denim jacket in there, that now fits perfectly. <rolls eyes at self> but the new one is staying! The rest of it is in the washing machine.

I have regained the interest in clothes I had as a teenager. Is this a mid-life crisis? Will I buy a sports car when I get to goal?

ShiftAMountain · 10/03/2025 15:54

Ha ha @Snapespeare! I also find myself haunting all the online clothes stores at the moment. Suddenly, after years 'not really knowing my style' I find that I definitely DO know my style but just always felt too fat for it.

...slinks off to look for soft leather biker jackets in M&S.... Grin

I keep thinking ooh I should do some shopping, but when it comes to it I still feel meh. I guess it’s knowing I’m only halfway there? But at this rate none of my summer stuff will fit decently. 22kg down now. I did realise today I had forgotten my starting weight and thought I’d lost two kilos more than I really have 🤦‍♀️

Theredjellybean · 10/03/2025 20:18

I got the summer clothes out and most are miles too big...so far made 50 pounds on vinted.
I've replaced the sensible work things via vinted but will need other things too.
Also now needing new underwear...I have a lingerie obsession but hadn't bought any for some time.
Some stuff with tags went on vinted and I'm trying to make myself use what I've got...as I popped into boux avenue last week...they used to be my " cheap" place to go...( I did/do have a very luxury taste in knickers) And blooming heck a bra was £ 45 and knickers to match £ 20...
For that brand I thought that was steep

TheCatterall · 10/03/2025 22:25

@Snapespeare please share the delightful one you have treated yourself to. I have two faux leather ones that need to go as they are now miles too big for me and they are normally my go to for jazzing up an outfit.

m&s here

There's a size 14 new with tags on eBay for about £150.

I got a faux river island from vinted for £25 here

Hello all, @ShiftAMountain thats amazing! Well done. Everyone is doing so well.

My weights been fluctuating a lot but today we ticked off a new low weight since 2020. I’ll take it and it marks 21 pounds off.

Although the weight loss has slowed, I’ve been much better at the gym and my clothes are swamping me. I’ve literally changed shape.

Lots of lovely compliments from people and being asked how I do it. 5 CrossFit classes a week and living on 1400 calories a day seems to be enough of an explanation for most 😂 I was doing that pre Mounjaro and my weight just kept climbing but the medication is nobody’s business but mine.

HappyShortFuse · 13/03/2025 19:11

26 weeks / 6 months completed.

I’ve lost 3st. From 17st 7 to 14st 7 and I’m very happy with that. My BMI is 36. Still a long way to go but progressing nicely.

currently on a 10mg pen (1x2.5, 3x5, 1x7.5) but food noise is back a bit and feel hungry (rumbling tummy). No nasty side effects at all (my prescriber thinks a lot of that is due to drinking 4-5l of fluids a day) but I’m worried about moving up and then having nowhere else to go if I get to 15mg and have no suppression. 2 more doses in this pen so will see how I do next week.

food wise I’m getting 1400 to 1500 cals a day and I’m able to eat a normal size meal with no issue (which I like to do).

keep it up everyone - I’m very proud of us. Xx

ShiftAMountain · 13/03/2025 19:16

Well done @HappyShortFuse - I've been watching that 6 month anniversary creep closer and closer.

I cannot believe we're all approaching six months! Back when we started I saw all the other threads of people who had been taking MJ for a few months and felt a bit regretful I'd not started sooner. And suddenly we're six months down the line and it has seemed like no time at all.

I'm proud of us too. What a change we've all made to our lives...

End of week 25
0.8lbs lost, 58.6lbs total.

Not much of a loss this week but my scales broke so I've had to buy new ones. I couldn't compare old vs new scales to check they measured the same so it's possible they don't.

I also have to travel for work the week after next. Two things there: firstly, everyone in the location last saw me at 40lbs heavier. Also, I am not worried about fitting in the seatbelt or feeling bad for the person sat next to me. Hurrah!

Bellyblueboy · 16/03/2025 17:37

@ShiftAMountain what a great feeling! Congratulations!🎉🎊🎈🍾

I have technically hit my goal weight - BMI 23.7 but I still have a belly so I might adjust my goal weight down a bit to 9st.

I am spending today clearing out my wardrobe. It’s full of size 14 and some size 16 clothes. Weirdly I have the same problem I had when I started on this diet. Wardrobes full of clothes and only a tiny amount of them fit😂.

Trying to find a dress for a wedding and not spend a fortune! Used to enjoy clothes shopping and right now it’s just awkward. Have cleared the three stone hurdle. Cleared the wardrobe once (4 bin bags) looking at all my summer T-shirts and thinking they may not fit……cleared the pants drawer (I had too many pairs 🤣) can’t bring myself to part with perfectly good jeans, but they are all so baggy at the waist…..first world issues.

ShiftAMountain · 18/03/2025 19:43

I hereby make a promise to myself: if I am still taking MJ next winter (in maintenace or otherwise), I will not go through the season without serious investment in heat pads, heated blankets, heated throws etc.

I am so sick of being COLD!

OP posts:
Theredjellybean · 18/03/2025 20:14

Oh yes....cold...I'm always so cold.
I'm active, fit, eating enough to maintain my weight which gives me a bmi 24.4...so.not extreme..I'm just under overweight ( I don't like BMI ...I'm definitely not overweight looking at me ).
But .I am always cold.

Weigh day, the elusive 13s have (just!) happened!
SW 17.8
LW 14.2.5
CW 13.13.9 (-2.6 from last week TW 50lbs)
Gw 12.7 ish

BMI now overweight after my brief flirtation with this when I thought I was as tall as I was in my 40s...

Also...had lower face fillers on Saturday, not unpleasant (except paying £660 for 3ml of alien juice being injected in my face) minimal bruising, waiting for it to settle in a bit and I vary between wondering what the hell I have done and being absolutely delighted with it and contemplating a bit more in my cheeks at some point.

Next milestone for me will be 13 stone which will be the weight I was briefly in 2012 and marks where my weight recording started on my fitness pal.

I’ve noticed a few changes in my face too now I’ve dropped a bit.
My eyebrows are terribly thin but it could be hormonal.
Im off for an eyebrow tattoo consultation. I’m actually enjoying spending money on me and feeling it’s making a much needed difference.

Theredjellybean · 20/03/2025 07:05

Snakespere...hurrah for the 13's

ShiftAMountain · 20/03/2025 08:07

Well done @Snapespeare - I love that you and @boxoftoads are enjoying treating yourselves in ways that make you feel better.

Today is my own six month anniversary since my first injection. That six months has gone by so quickly! I also did a cheeky jump on the scales and can see I've just snuck past the 60lbs lost mark for my anniversary.

When I reflect back at how awful I felt about myself six months ago it feels like a different lifetime. I am thriilled with how it's going so far and cannot wait to see what the next six months might bring for me.

@ShiftAMountain well done on 60lbs that’s amazing, you’ve made me realise it’s 4 days till my six month anniversary too. Well obvs most of us on this thread will be in the same ball park but it’s weird. But the difference it’s made is as you say is quite something. I was staring at my leg the other day and thinking I don’t remember it looking this thin the last time I was this weight 🤣 (which by my reckoning was somewhere around 17 years ago) but it must have done but I’ve spent so long overweight the memory is gone!

Wow! 60lbs is an insane amount of weight! That is amazing.

KitsyWitsy · 20/03/2025 10:18

Little update on me. I am still going! Not losing as fast now but since the end of September, I have lost 3.5stone. I am now 13stone exactly and can’t wait to see a 12 on the scale for the first time in my adult life.

I am so much more confident and happy. I get a lot more attention when I go out as well which is nice although annoying when they’ve seen me before and weren’t interested when I was bigger.

I’ve finally gone down a dress size and am now a 16. I think I was definitely more a 20 squeezing into an 18 before.

At the moment I am on 8.33mg per week after staying on 7.5 for quite a long time. It’s working very well for me and I only ever get the odd bout of sulphur burps.

Well done everyone!
